Tlaztlan

"The skink priests who handle the day to day affairs of the city of Tlaztlan were surprised a week ago when the Slann spawning pools produced the first new slann in over eight thousand years. The first Slann to emerge and become a member of the new sixth slann spawning was named Itza, because this is seen as a sign of a new beginning for the Lizardmen. The elder slann ended there deep meditation long enough to decided that Itza shall be sent to one of the esteemed colleges of magic, while further slann to come forth from the pools will be educated in Tlaztlan." The spell ended and the bulletin to the world was over. This meant change, the lizardmen were backwards in terms of technology, and however Slann are easily one of the more powerful magic creatures.

Itza was still small for a slann, though in terms of size that still made him quite large. He was colored white, a rare color among the Lizardmen, this was the mark of the Old Ones and often meant that such a creature was meant for greatness. He was like most slann in deep thought however he still paid attention to the world around him. That was something few slann did. He was only a few weeks old but was quite independent, at least for a slann. However like all slann he sat on a palanquin, unlike most though he was not borne by the fearsome Saurs Temple Guard, he used magic to float himself around.

Itza watched his skink attendant out of the corner of his huge eyes, he was a jittery little fellow but many skinks in the worker barrios would kill to be in his place now. He was the runt of his spawning and has such had been given the name Kai, or forgotten. He was supposed to be sacrificed to Sotek to make sure the Skaven were cleared out of there tunnels by poisonous snakes. However that had been changed when Itza emerged from the spawning pool. The Priests were a little short on skinks in the temple, there was an apparent need for a lot of skink sacrifices recently, so Kai on of the few left got the job of attendant, while the others got the ax as an offering to appease the gods for this great gift. It was really quite understandable why he was jittery.

This was all well and good but Itza was still supposed to go to one of the Magic colleges run by one of the lesser races. He had no idea which one to choose all he could hope for was a little help from some nosey wizard wanting to see a slann period, most people never got to see one anyway.

If Itza possesses the potential as a shaman, the Grove of the Nathi will be happy to instruct him in the ways of Nature's beasts and plants and the calling of the spirits. Is this amenable to him and his superiors?

However this sacrifice of sentient beings is unacceptable, and will not be tolerated among our people.
