OOC: Just for those of you who are used to my EII nation (*cough* RomeW *cough*),my NS nation is alot different.

Helios, Capital of The Lightning Star

Duke Xenathos was giddy with glee as he walked through the great halls of the Imperial Capital Building. None of the leaders of the Great Houses had this vital information, so it was important he got to the Emperor before anyone else. When he reached the Emperor's Hall, he was announced by the Imperial Chancellor. Emperor Tarigoth VI, a 27 year old man, sat straight in his chair, although he looked bored from all of the meetings he had had so far in the day. "Ah, Xenathos," began the Emperor, "What important news do you have for me?"
The Duke could barely contain himself. "Sire, it appears that a continent, named "Manium", has been discovered by my traveling cartographers." At the sound of this, the Emperor seemed to be surprised. After all, the Duke usually brought news along the line of "My second cousin twice removed has had..." and asked for money.

The Duke continued. "Sire, may I have permission to claim this land for the Empire, Helios, and House Zarkon? I will use my houses extensive resources to make sure that this colony will thrive." The Emperor sat for a minute, contemplating the situation. After some deep thinking, the Emperor said, "Duke Xenathos, I hereby declare that all colonization of the continent "Manium" in the name of the Empire shall soley be undertaken by House Zarkon. Go forth, and conquer in the name of the Empire." He then sat down, and the giddy Duke walked out of the hall, picked up his cellphone, and said, "Hello? Markus? It's gone through. Make preparations for a depature by the end of the week."

OOC: Sorry this post is sub-par. I'm kinda rushing, and I haven't used my NS nation in ages.

One Month Later, off the coast of Manium
Duke Xenathos grinned as he looked at the landmass that was now in view. Over 500,000 of his house members were in the fleet, as well as 50,000 of his forces. They had decided to land on the north-westernmost part of the continent, due to the fact that there were rumors of an abundance of oil in that part. Building materials were being taken, as well as enough medical and food and water supplies to last the colony at least a year, up to 3 if there was strict rationing. He sent forth some surveyors, soldiers, and builders, so that when the rest of the colonists arrived the next morning they would find work already begun on a suitable campsite.

The next morning
The Duke was the first of his boat to land on the shores of Manium. The efficent surveyors, soldier, and builders had already begun to build a large, basic building that was to be, for the time being, the head of House Zarkon. With the help of some of his workers, he drove a 20 foot high flagpole into the ground. At the top, the flag of the Empire flew, while just below it flew the flag of House Zarkon. The thousands of workers began landing ashore, as did the building equipment, materials, and supplies. After being sorted into groups and having 2 hours after landing to inspect their surroundings and their tents, the colonists got to work. Vital buildings(such as the clinics, barracks', supply depots, the airfield, and government buildings) were being constructed first, then the housing areas, etc would be made.

Only 50,000 people would be staying in the capital(dubbed Kazhar), the rest would be leaving after the end of the week to set up more settlements, etc. Aerial units had already surveyed the area that had been claimed so far, and although there were a few villages here and there, as well as what seemed to be ruins of a former colony. They also found "black gold" as it were. Oil riggs were all over the place, all of them broken down and abandoned, but it proved that there was oil here. Already, a group of 5,000 colonists and 500 soldiers had been sent to set up a base of operations. It would be a long time until the colony could be self-sufficent, but the House Coffers, the House Land, and a grant from the Emperor would be more than enough to keep it sustained. Over 20,000,000 people were expected to come to this new colony of "Zarkonia" by the end of it's first year, but that was way off. Right now, all that mattered was that the colony get up and running.
