The Ministry of Health released study reports today blaming the recent rise of incurable tuberculosis on certain classes of satellite communications.

"Specifically, the SatPhones used with the Onyx and Indigo satellite communications systems have been shown to have lasting and severe health impacts. This includes, but is not limited to, recent antibiotic-resistant strains of Tuberculosis. While some studies are not yet complete, evidence also links these systems with increased incidence of premature baldness, halitosis, tourettes syndrome and leprosy."

The government responded by banning the sale and use of these devices.

"We have to think of the health of our people, especially our children." Said Ministry of Health spokeswoman Haille Kuroui'i. "With so many natively produced communications devices, which have been proven safe in study after study, there is no reason to risk our population with hazardous communications systems."

While no Aysheaian corporations manufacture the devices fingered by the report, some popular SatPhones such as the Ninhursag-made walk-n-talk are affected by this ruling. Aysheaias CuoCom has announced an exchange program to allow owners of the illegal devices to trade them for new CouCom cell phones for free.
