Rep-tube: A replicator tube. In firearms, and other projectile based weaponry, the Rep tube is the barrel of the gun. It replicates the projectile that is about to be fired inside it rather than loading a new round mechanically. The Replicator system is a high speed matter energy converter that can load new rounds at a slightly higher speed than the mechanical process, offering a slightly increased fate of fire. As the basic systems of the Replicator are geared toward energy manipulation, the replicator systems can also be switched over to handle the multi-phasic energy used by standard ES energy weaponry, allowing one gun to fire both typical bullets (To be referred here forth, as “Material Rounds”.), in addition to firing energy blasts. Rep tubes come in many sizes, and can be large enough replicate cannon rounds for a ship, missiles for a fighter, or small enough for a infantry rocket launcher, or a bullet for a hand gun, all while still being able to fire energy rounds. The Rep-tube lightens the load for a soldier on the field, and considerably reduces the strain on the supply chain. As new types of bullets are developed, their design can simply be transmitted to the guns onboard computer, and replicated on the spot, right inside the gun, without having to wait for standard supply ships to physically move ammunition around from a factory, greatly enhancing the speed at which our troops can adapt to new threats.

Multi-Phasic Energy (MP Energy) Guns: Eshirian weapons utilize Multi-Phasic Energy. Multi-Phasic energy (To be referred here forth, as MP) used in ES energy based weaponry is essentially an unstable energy wavelength that is devastating in high concentrations. MP guns use Rep-tubes and are therefore capable of firing MP rounds, or regular material rounds.

Inertial Drive: They use a micro black hole's rotational energy, and redirect it to propel a ship in a linear path. Advantages? Huge acceleration, (Black holes rotate extremely fast, so sapping even a small amount of that is more than enough to push a ship somewhere.) pretty much no exhaust, (Making stealthing our ships much easier.) virtually no need to refuel, (Black holes are theorized to continue spinning well into the end of the universe, long after the last star has gone out.) Plus, as an added bonus, I can later utilize that same black hole for making quasars, which provide a huge acceleration boost, as well as adding a powerful weapons capacity (capability) .

The byproducts of a black hole's natural degradation, and various natural properties of the black hole, like exotic matter formation, and gravity fields allow the same engines to actually provide power for ships systems, provide FTLi capabilites, etc.

Inertial Capacitors: Inertial capacitors act as an alternate propulsion method. An IC gathers the inertial energy gathered from the black hole much like the inertial drive. However, rather than redirect it right away, it stores it. If and when the main inertial engines fail, the IC’s can then supply the needed inertia to propel a vessel and keep it in attack speed.

Inertial Dampers: Inertial dampers are nothing new. These devices dampen the effects of inertia on a body or object within its field, allowing much more severe maneuvers than would normally be possible. They are also used in armor suits to lessen the damaging force of an impact, greatly enhancing the suit’s durability.

Quasar Detonator: A quasar detonator is the primary warhead used in every Eshirian missile, torpedo, or other large projectile, and is the standard explosive warhead in the Eshirian Military.

The basic concept is simple. A micro black hole is contained, with a massive amount of anti-matter stored nearby to be dumped into the black hole when the warhead is detonated. The result of the matter dump is the formation of an instant quasar.

The blast generated is extremely powerful, and is usually enough to decimate enemy shields within a few barrages. Shield piercing versions of the detonator concentrate the quasar blast in one direction, and standard QDs have been known to suck away shielding. Massive amounts of gamma radiation are also generated when a quasar is set off, and this weapon has proven moderately effective against gravity based shielding.


(Something to keep in mind when considering the power of a quasar, real life, active quasars generate so much energy and radiation, that quasars as far away as the edge of our universe have been detected right here on Earth.

Please note however, the standard QD is obviously not as powerful, but I'm just giving you some sense of scale as the full power potential of these weapons.)

Wormhole Drive: The Eshirian Wormhole drive operates exactly like any other wormhole drive. A wormhole is created, and the ship flies through. One ship’s wormhole will also work for allied vessels until the last ship to enter shuts it down.

PPAD Shielding: “Pin-Point Particle Area Denial System”, or PPAD. While the exact operating specs are classified, the basic idea of the system is quite simple. When a missile or energy bolt is detected, a series of events occurs. A small container on the part of the ship closest to the incoming shot will release a mass of heavy Corrolium alloy molecules, which are extremely heavy in terms of atomic structure. The particles are moved into the path of the beam or missile, effectively creating a thick wall which absorbs much of the blow from the shot. In a sense, padding the craft against damage. This is the same shield system used on the recently released SSF-29 star fighter.

Also, with the point defense provided by the PPAD system, fighters can be protected by enemy fire directly, which gives them time to "form up" or make last minute changes to their plan of attack. Regenerative PPAD systems are among the most redundant systems onboard a vessel, and allows for a ship to be shielded even in the face of weapons designed to pass through more common energy shields. (Tachyon, blackholes, etc.)


"Regen" (Regenerative PPAD Armor System.) Advances in the speed at which Matter/energy conversion occurs have allowed the PPAD system to take on the “Regenerative” moniker. Now the blast plate that is materialized in the path of the oncoming shot can take on additional damage of multiple shots at once, whereas the older system required the blast plate to be rematerialized after each direct hit. This simple advance allows the PPAD shielding to become more useful and harder to penetrate than ever before.

"Leaon" level PPAD Shielding. Leaon level PPAD shielding takes the "padding" concept a step further by allowing allied vessels to utilize their tractor beams, and take a few Corrolium "walls" to defend themselves. Nearby Eshirian vessels can also share Corrolium particles to repair their own PPAD shields, or bolster existing ones.

Replicator: A replicator is a simple device that converts energy into matter, and vise versa. This device has an innumerable amount of applications ranging from military to industrial. There are many different grades of the device as well, all with differing rates of matter/energy conversion, however all sharing the same basic design, and function.

PsiCommu: Essentially a com device that is embedded in the head which works off of the natural Psionic abilities of every Eshirian. Only thoughts are needed to send a message. Excessive chatter can still be a problem however, but the brain itself helps to tune out most of the background.

PsiCommu conduits are linked in a network that can also be used as an internal sensor grid, or as a direct control of ship systems for those individuals with Eshirian genes.

PsiSensor: A sensor that works off of the limited psionic abilities of every Eshirian. Each Eshirian’s psionic powers include a limited ability to sense objects around them. The Psi sensor is one part of a system that links to the mind of the pilot, or operator. Through this mental link, the person can now also sense things around the area of the sensor device as well as the regular radius around himself. The range at which the sensor can function is limited only by the range of the mental link.
So step by step:
-Every Eshirian has psi sense around him or herself.
-A robot or whatever, is then equipped with a psi sensor unit.
-The Eshirian’s mind is linked up to a device that creates a mental link from his mind to the psi sensor device.
-The Eshirian can now sense things within a certain radius around the psi sensor device.
-Radius of detection around the psi sensor is limited only by the experience of the user with his or her own psionic capabilities.

Spatial Modifier targeting system: The Spatial Modifier Targeting System (SMT) is a unique piece of Eshirian technology, allowing pin-point precision of energy weapons at extremely long ranges. Once again, while the concept of the system is simple, it opens the door to many possibilities. What the SMT does, is bend space, or more specifically, the space along the path of an energy blast. This allows the energy beam to be maneuvered exactly like a missile. The implications of this are very clear, and shouldn’t require any further explanation. The only issue is that the energy blast will last only as long as its power rating. The less powerful the energy, the shorter lived the “Energy Missile”

Corrolium Alloy: An alloy of the neutral matter, Corrolium. It is able to withstand the intense heat and pressure of the inside of small star for a few seconds. This is the alloy used in the PPAD shield technology, and in the actual hull of Eshirian vessels.

The SIF produces a field that dramatically improves the strength of any object within its field, greatly enhancing its durability. It is especially useful on ships and infantry armor systems.

General description: The MEG-45 is the standard sidearm used by the Eshirian Armed Forces. Packing tremendous energy in an accurate and stable energy transfer conduit, the “Boomer” gains its name from the thunderous boom it makes when fired. The MEG-45 is known for its excellent stopping power against light to medium armored opponents, and is praised for its reliability in the field, even under the harsh conditions of the extreme cold, and the desert.
If there are any drawbacks to this gun, it is its somewhat large size, heavy weight, and a steep learning curve to handling this weapon. No one denies however, that an MEG-45 in the holster is often the closest thing to an insurance policy in close quarter firefights.

MEG-9 “Whistler” Multi-Phasic Energy Pistol

General description: Although often thought of as the little brother of the MEG-45, the “Whistler” is actually a much more practical weapon in the common types of engagements that a soldier of the ES forces would be involved in: long distance. A much lighter, and faster firing gun than the MEG-45, the “MEG-9 is somewhat more fragile, and lacks the sheer stopping power of its larger cousin. It carries a new type of rep-tube that is more accurate at longer ranges, but is less effective against medium armor opponents. Typically, a soldier would carry a MEG-45 for close in medium enemies, and the MEG-9 for taking out lighter, more numerous foes, at longer ranges, due to its faster firing rate and longer range of accurate fire.
A few drawbacks to the MEG-9 are its somewhat light and more fragile construction, and decreased reliability in harsh battlefield conditions when compared to the MEG-45.

MERA-19 Multi-Phasic Energy Rifle

General description: A long time favorite in the Sovereign Forces, the MERA-19 has had the longest service record of any firearm in Eshirian Military history of over 50 years. The design had received incremental upgrades, and modifications along the way, but it remains largely the same design. It owes its long standing record to its very simple construction, very high energy output, and impressive reliability in all battlefield conditions from space to wet climates. The rifle carries with it some notable credentials. First, it is wields decent accuracy at long ranges. Second, the MERA-19 holds the highest firing rate of any standard rifle every used by the Eshirian military. Third, thanks to its very simple yet strong construction, it is remarkably cheap to produce. The MERA-19 is capable of charging up its shots to deliver a more devastating blow. This function can serve as a sort of energy grenade or an anti-armor blast.
The only drawbacks to this exceptional gun is that the energy containment field around the energy blast is quite weak, meaning that while a soldier can easily drown an opponent in very high amounts of accurate energy, each blast will not penetrate heavy armor well because the upon impact, containment field around the energy will fail rather than carry the energy through the armor, allowing most of the energy to simply disperse. Thus the need for the gun’s extremely high rate of fire, near perfect accuracy, and high energy output, to allow a trooper to make up for the weak armor piercing capacity of each shot, by continuously pounding the same spot with a barrage of high energy, eventually breaking through. This more or less makes up for each individual blast’s ineffectiveness against heavy armor. (The MERA-19 series of guns is due to be replaced within a few years. The current prototype promises all the best that the MERA-19 has to offer, while greatly improving upon the containment field. This is sure to make the newer rifle a truly fearsome weapon when it is released.)

General description: The MERA “V2” is a slightly modified version of the MERA-19. Utilizing the same technologies, and the same fundamental design, it could be said that the MERA “V2” is the exact same gun, only smaller, and with a slightly reduced effectiveness at long ranges. Any who say this would be entirely correct. The Gun also shares the same advantages and drawbacks. Some differences however, include a modified target scope, shortened stock, and an improved cooling system, resulting in even faster rate of fire. The Carbine was originally intended as an evolutionary step up from the MERA-19 before its replacement. However, the severe decrease in long range accuracy caused this weapon to be very disliked throughout the Eshirian Armed Forces.

General description: The MERA Type 3 is a small weapon similar in design to the MERA-19. However, the main differences include a far greater energy containment capacity, massively improved flash suppressor with a much reduced firing noise, and a lightened construction which is still strong, and reliable. The gun does however, lack long range accuracy due to the lowered efficiency of the Rep-tube design, though not to the extent of the MERA”V2”. This was generated in order to limit the energy reading given off by the weapon, while still retaining some element of stopping power. This gun is the preferred gun of the Talon SpecOps.

General description: An effective weapon against heavy targets, the MERA-230, while bearing the same initial designation as the MERA-19 rifle, is a totally different weapon. Boasting an enormous firing rate, extreme energy capacity, and packing a tremendous amount of energy in each MP round, the “Reaper” as it is often called is a deadly instrument against mass amounts of opposing forces. Often used to lay down cover fire, or wipe out large masses of close in enemy forces in one fell swoop, it is by far one of the most effective heavy weapons ever. Typically, the MERA-230 is used by a soldier in the prone position and supported by a bi-pod. The only real drawback to this fearsome device is its weight, often requiring an exceptionally strong trooper to operate effectively.

MERSA-55 “Postal” Sniper Rifle

General description: Fast, and accurate, the "Postal" is a weapon that truly delivers. Equipped with Spatial Modifiers, and employing a new "Night Shader" system on its rep-tube, the MERSA-55 allows its energy bolts, (Normally characterized by a bright flash.) to make their way to a target with almost no emissions in the visible spectrum or other wavelengths. The only drawback to this powerful weapon is its weight, making "Shoot and Scoot" maneuvers somewhat awkward, though not impossible. Precise construction, and unique energy emitters allow this gun to fire underwater with minimal energy dissipation and misfire risks.

MEC-A1 (Multi-Energy Cell A1)
Field Term(s): "Becks (MEC)" , "Bang Can" , Charge Ups"

General Description: A single use attachments that jumps up the power of a rifle for a single shot by a huge degree, allowing the rifle to fire a possibly crippling shot against even a tank. Currently only used by the MERA-19. The rifle’s own energy cell needs at least 10 seconds to intake the added energy. The round is a huge drain on the rifle’s power cells however, as the containment field used to keep the shot together from dissipating also requires a higher amount of power to contain the added energy of the MP round.

ECE (Energy Containment Enhancer)
Field Term(s): “Pecks (Distorted pronounciation of 'Eck' for ECE)

General Description: A simple attachment on the barrel that increases the amount of energy that can be stored for a shot. Allows the energy of a charged up shot to be increased several fold as well. It is still not powerful enough to take on a tank one on one though.

Charge Capacitor:

General Description: The charge capacitor is another attachment which usually attaches to the bottom of a gun’s barrel. The CC will draw from the gun’s power cell, and form a charged up round. In a sense, it acts as a grenade launcher, hurling explosive rounds of MP energy at a target, while the main barrel is free to continue firing normal rounds. While every gun can charge up a round equivalent to what the CC fires, it’s almost a no-brainer what advantages having a separate barrel doing the charging offers.

ArcFire-170 “Sprite” Anti-fighter Micro-missile

General description: Originally developed for exclusive use onboard the SSF-29 “Draken” Star Fighter, the ArcFire-170 Anti-Fighter Micro-Missile eventually found its way onto small star ships thanks to its ultra high maneuverability, sizable yield, reliable targeting system, and small size, making storing massive amounts of them in materialized mode easy, as well making tracking the small missile by PDLs far more difficult. These traits made it a favorite for ships designers as the preferred anti-fighter armament of all vessels from cargo ships to large carriers. Current launch methods include a battery of “Sprites” placed in a radial launcher, allowing mass amounts of the missile to be ejected quickly. The missile carries a micro-black hole which it uses to detonate a tiny quasar as its main charge. It is powered by small zero-point energy generator and propelled through an inertial drive.

While the fighter version of the missile had an advanced onboard tracking system, the ship borne version does not. The missile instead relies on the parent ship’s own targeting systems to guide the missile to its target. The Advantages to this are that the missile’s tacking capabilities are far improved, as “Sprite” can now coordinate with other missiles mid-flight, via the parent ships’ AI, to take out a target in a systematic order rather than all massing mindlessly on a target, which would allow them to be easily countered. The drawbacks are obvious. If the parent vessel’s AI or onboard tracking systems were to fail, the “Sprite” would become far less effective, reverting back to a simpler tracking and targeting system that is quite easily fooled.

The reason for the removal of the original advanced targeting system is simple. When the armaments for the SSF-29 were first being developed, the small size of the fighter forced engineers to create a new breed of smaller weapon, without sacrificing effectiveness, including missiles. Thus, the AcrFire-170 was created. With all the same capabilities of the older larger series of missiles, the “Sprite” was a near perfect replacement. However, with its small size, the detonating charge material had to be highly compressed, making it less stable. The fighter required a complex system of inertial dampers, and stabilizer systems to ensure that the less stable missile wouldn’t spontaneously explode under the intense stresses of dog fighting. All other components were similarly redesigned in small form. However, when modifying the missile for ship use, designers felt that the added risk of storing a massive amount of “Sprite” missiles and then requiring a complex storage system onboard was ridiculous for a large ship. Therefore, they eliminated the problem of the unstable detonation charge by simply giving it more room. However, because of this, the other systems had to be reduced further, taking away from the original’s effectiveness, including the targeting systems. Therefore, the ship versions now rely on the system that they do.

"Sprite" missiles are typically employed in mass missile clouds ranging from 10 to one million missiles in one burst, and are used as anti-fighter, point defense, and as a "Hull cleanser" weapon against various devices, and opponents which latch onto a hull, and attempt to wreak havoc from there. (Destroying exposed guns, systems, etc.)

ArcFire-220 “Thumper” Anti-ship torpedo

General description: The “Thumper” anti-ship torpedo is the premier anti-ship weapon used by Eshirian vessels. Fast, accurate, using an extra large Quasar detonator, and packing its own internal shielding, the ArcFire-220 Anti-ship torpedo is highly effective at its job of pounding away at a ship’s shields and eventually, hull. The shields make destroying the torpedo via PDL systems less effective, and often, the “Thumper” is used in coordination with clouds of smaller “Sprite” missiles to swarm a PDL, and overwhelm it, leaving the much larger and more powerful “Thumper” free to barrage critical systems. The ArcFire-220 does lack the same maneuverability of the smaller “Sprite”, but its anti-ship role makes this a non-issue. The “Thumper is powered by a zero point energy generator

SageLight-750 “Colossus” Space Artillery Cannon
Purpose:

General description: The SageLight-750 is lightning in a bottle…7 Petajoules of it. There are few things that can withstand a barrage from a battery of “Colossus” Cannons. Bearing down with an energy level greater than that of the sun, and capable of pin-point accuracy at ranges of up to 3 AU, the SageLight-750’s are truly a fearsome weapon of ultimate destruction capable of punching holes through planets. The extreme accuracy is made possible thanks to the Spatial Modifier Targeting system, while the firepower is due in large part to new advances in energy generation efficiency from the Zero-point generators. The “Colossus” has only two drawbacks. First, it requires an obscene amount of time to charge, and second, it is so complex, only two can fit onto any of the largest vessels in the Eshirian Fleet.

Smaller versions of this weapon are significantly less powerful. In ES vessel spec sheets, they can be identified by the following designations:

-Mark 1: The version described above. Found on ES Battlecarriers, Heavy Dreadnaughts, Strike Cruisers, and Starbases.

-Mark 2: A smaller system capable of only half of the output of its larger cousin. Capable of severely damaging planetary shields, wiping out massive portions of cities (Shields down.), or slicing enemy ships in half. Found on Medium Dreadnaughts, Cruisers, Frigates, and Outposts.

-Mark 3: An even smaller version of the Sagelight-750. This model is much smaller, and its effects vary from ship to ship. This is because, unlike its larger cousins which have additional power systems to augment the ships reactor output, this version relies solely on that output. Found on Cargo vessels, Dropships, Science vessels, Light carriers, and other small ships.

TaiKun-190 “Lasher” Multi-Phasic Energy Anti-Ship Gun

General description: The “Lasher” anti-ship gun is a simple device. Like all other Eshirian weaponry, the TaiKun-190 is a rep-tube based design, with a solid frame, and sophisticated fire control systems. Designed primarily as a long range weapon, the “Lasher” does not suffer as much energy containment failure as other shorter ranged weapons, meaning that the “Lasher” has a higher armor piercing rating at long ranges compared to other energy weapons. Its simple construction means that it is easily serviced, and can be quickly replaced. Some of the advantages to the “Lasher” fire control are that it can coordinate with other weapons during a strike. For example, an enemy’s shields could first be pounded on by a barrage of “Thumper” torpedoes, and when a small opening is made, the “Lashers" will fire through the gap while it is open.
The only disadvantage to the gun design is its slow rate of fire. However, missiles and smaller guns are used to make up for this shortcoming.

Due it's reliance on Rep-tubes, the Lasher is capable of firing both MP, and Material Rounds (Missiles, torpedoes.) can be fired, giving this weapon unparalled versatility. As a result, this one gun can sap shields, attack fighters, damage Capital ships, lay siege to planetary targets, and as additional weapons systems are developed, its capabilities are set to grow even further.

Secar-200 "D" Point Defense Platform

General description: The Secar-200 is a basic point defense platform that combines two smaller versions of the TaiKun-190 “Lasher”, and launcher systems for 48 "Sprite" missiles, all utilizing Rep-tubes. (Refer to Rep-tubes.)
It carries basic PsiSensors and Spatial Modifier targeting systems for unparalled accuracy. Every component of the system is modular, and can be upgraded when necessary.

Discharge Plates: Discharge plates operate as a mid-line of defense on the hull of Eshirian vessels. Each plate is charged with an extremely heavy amount of Multi-phasic energy, and left in a dangerously volatile state.

In operation, when an enemy craft attempts to latch onto the hull either to infiltrate the ship, or to launch a treacherous attack on exposed guns, and systems, the Discharge plates act like an open wire, immediately sending MP energy in dangerous amounts enough to disable a "Hull crawler"'s systems, or vaporize enemy troops.

Discharge plates are mixed among standard hull plates to provide a total coverage network of anti-"Hull crawler" defenses.

"Maxer" point defense drone: Maxers are simple drones equipped with a high powered gun, operating on a basic AI. Each probe is equipped with one ZPG, one inertial engine, and an overload circuit with a minimal sensor package.

Maintenance systems include three standard manipulator arms to allow the probe to engage in small repairs or other jobs along the exterior of the ship.

With the weapons, the Maxer will act as a point defense drone, or a massed offensive weapon serving as cannon fodder. The overload circuit allows the maxer to function as a limited space mine as well, increasing its versatility.

Singularity shielding: This powerful form of shielding is an offshoot of PPAD, and wormhole drive technology. While PPADs uses an intricate system of gravity fields and tractor beams to move Corrolium Particles into a wall of matter as a defense. Singularity shields use the Gravity wells, and tractor beams themselves as a defense.

The shields will pull/push a beam of incoming energy or projectiles onto a new vector using gravity manipulation, dedicated tractor emitters, and space time fluid manipulation. The basic concept should be simple enough not to warrant any further explanation.

Additional capabilities that this system offers greatly increase its versatility far beyond mere shielding. The ability to project gavity fields ties in with a vessel's FTLi systems, and also creates a deadly weapon: The...
