Struggle for the Preservation of Ignorance (FT/MT Mix, Non-Violent, Sign up Thread)

Kazecistan

Well, as the unusually long title says, there will be no shots fired in this RP.

Chronosia (a FT nation of Chaos), will RP finding a MT world. This MT world will have real player nations in it. Chronosia would attempt to 'alter' the planet and it's population, only to have me (and possibly other FT nations) step in.

We believe that this will provide many RPing opportunities to the MT nations involved, both with each other and with FT nations as well. Thus, we are considering two RP threads, one between MT nations only and another for interaction between and with the FT nations, but only if we get enough MT players.

This is open to all MT players, regardless of what earth, who sign up. It is also open to no more than 5 FT nations or groups. (Because I'm in, all of The Republic is in, but they don't count as more nations, same for Chronosia and the GE.)

Those Involved:

FT:
Kazecistan (The Republic)
Chronosia (Galactic Empire)
Blood Moon Goblins (Galactic Alliance)
Pyrovia

MT:
Kjata Major
Theao
Krendakov
Starenell

Sounds good.
Ill support Chronosia, considering that my leader is rather chaosy himself :P
Kazecistan
09-08-2005, 01:27
Alright, but be warned that his side will eventually back down, because we aren't going to go crushing nearly helpless MT nations in this, remember it's nonviolent.

Oh, and will you have a group of nations with you? Do you belong to any major alliances?
Blood Moon Goblins
09-08-2005, 01:33
Awww, just a little crushing?

Well, theres the FKC, but theyre mostly modern and dont often support each other, and the new (sort of :P) Galactic Alliance, but its pretty small.
Kazecistan
09-08-2005, 01:43
The Republic is small too, and I didn't want a whole bunch of nations crowding the FT negotiations anyway.
Kjata Major
09-08-2005, 01:46
Kjata is MT and has recently taken over Japan. So we are small, but growing. Religious state, pissing us off can have some interesting lashbacks.
Theao
09-08-2005, 01:53
If you want, I'll bring a MT varient in.
Kazecistan
09-08-2005, 01:53
You are in. Remember, nothing military.
Kjata Major

You are in. Remember, nothing military.

Grats on 666 posts lmao! Though was the no military thing to me? o.O?
Kazecistan
09-08-2005, 02:01
Oh, Theao, if you want, you may join, but I'm not forcing you.

Mon military as in you can put a gun to my head, but you MAY NOT pull the triger, that goes for every one involved.
Theao
09-08-2005, 02:05
Oh, Theao, if you want, you may join, but I'm not forcing you.
How would you be forcing me?
I'll be using a varient of my MT nation.
Kazecistan
09-08-2005, 02:12
I don't know how I would force you, but your first post kind of sounded like it was a pitty thing to bring it in, so I wanted you to know it was your choice, not mine.

Any way, will this nation be Theao, or a puppet?
Theao
09-08-2005, 02:16
Wasn't intended to sound like that.
It will be Theao, but because I have 'Theaos' in every tech level it will be a Theao in the MT era.
Kazecistan
09-08-2005, 02:24
Theao is entered as a MT nation.
Krendakov
09-08-2005, 02:27
I'm intereasted in this, even though I don't get to shoot things! :P
I'm MT, and could you tell me in a bit more detail what's going to go on?
Kjata Major
09-08-2005, 02:31
Ya, any special rules or other info. Can MT nations band together or something like that?
Kazecistan
09-08-2005, 02:40
MT nations can do as they please, as long as they don't shoot anyone. Any thing goes with them (well, no war). For FT nations, here is the basic story.

Chronosia and friends find a planet with MT life. About ready to implement their twisted ways of Chaos, Kazecistan and other such nations intervene and warn the MT nations of their danger. Much diplomacy ensues and it ends with Chronosia and friends leaving the planet alone.

The way I see it, MT nations have a lot more freedom and opportunity for good RPing.
Chronosia
09-08-2005, 16:57
How come I have to get driven back? Come one, come all; Lords of Chaos and friends of the GE; lets impose our sadistic will on unsuspecting MTers :D!
Sonaj
09-08-2005, 17:18
As a member of GE and the Lords of Chaos, I´d like to be one of Chronosia´s friends, if that´s all right.
Chronosia

yay! Go Team Evil! Ok, now we need more. :D This RP is actually a cracking idea. Hats off to you growing up Kazec :)

*sniff*
I get no credit :(
I am wondering, however, what the reaction of a modern nation to a flying sailing ship will be.

Random Person 1: Holy crap! Look at that! Its a giant uber-cruiser!
Random Person 2: Nevermind that, theres a bloody galleon flying right next to it!

Hooray :P

Kazecistan
10-08-2005, 01:56
Starenell, yes you can join, and you can have all of the Tech you can negotiate for, weapons included. Trading with the 'good' side will be easyer, but it is also possable with those 'evil' nations.

First off, are you MT or FT?

Is this your first nation?

What do you plan to do when you have entered the thread?

Unfortunately, I have a bias against nations with few posts. Please understand if I decide not to admit you.

OOC: As Chronosia wants to RP with me, this seems to be as good an opportunity as any to take him up on it, so I'm in, if you want.

(Yikes. Garish font.)

24-08-2005, 00:08
Ctan, alright, you may join. But you are the last FT nation.

Oooo, bad si-fi pc type.

hey can i sign up as a FT nation ?
Kazecistan
25-08-2005, 04:22
Wow, I' just can't stick to my rules. TFU, alright you may join along with Tann.

Note to other FT nations: These two are absoulutly the last accepted, and only because I have good relations with them and will need their participation here for future RPs.

BTW, I'll TG Tann so that he knows.

What's happening with the other MTers?
Ageaol
29-08-2005, 01:53
They didn't like being called ignorant and didn't want to sign up.
Theao
29-08-2005, 01:55
So what happens to the rest of the world?
Kazecistan
29-08-2005, 01:58
ooc: Ignorant simply means those who don't know. To be ignorant, one need not be stupid, or dumb, or retarded, or whatever else one might say.
Theao
29-08-2005, 02:29
I ask again, what's happening to the rest of the Earth, outside the USA+Canada, which is what the UPC is.
Kazecistan
29-08-2005, 02:35
I suppose they just go on in their Ignorance.

Hey, Theao, I've sent a hologram down to you, mind talking to it?

29-08-2005, 03:02
It's okay. I've responded.
Theao
29-08-2005, 22:04
1. Please bring the OOC stuff here.
2. It's Ceneda, not Theao, Ageaol please get it right.
3. You can pick up a E-mail in the vastness of cyber-space but fail to notice a Hologram been projected to the planet?
Ageaol
29-08-2005, 22:16
You didn't know exactly where you were sending the email. They had to pick it out of cyberspace. We could too. Our satellites don't have superman x-ray vision. Since it's a hologram and not a real person it'd need very dedicated scans to see it. And I think all the OOC comments have ended in that thread. And this is signup thread. There is no OOC thread so why not have OOC comments there anyways.

And C'tan, I think Theao's Prime Minister Alexander Musollini wants a response to his e-mail.
The Ctan
29-08-2005, 22:29
I'll reply to that one in time, I'll wait for everyone else to get their word in first.

7. Obviously bluffing? Do you mean that Icly? Would your characters really know that we wouldn't shoot? Many of you seem to forget that the Non-violent part in ooc only.

Yes. It's either that or your nation is incompetant beyond mortal ken. It's quite a simple deduction. Say you went to ram that diplomatic ship. It's stationary, and your ship is (let's be generous) a ten kilometer (radius) sphere. The Arithel waits for you to get three seconds from impact, then slams on its engines, on a course perpendicular to your own. Three seconds later, and you've missed by two hundred kilometers, thanks to the Arithel being able to move 210,000 meters or so in three seconds.

By relying on simple ramming in space (remember folks, space is big, it's so enourmously big you wont be able to comprehend just how big it is) you are showing non-lethal intent. In other words, if you ram, you are either hping to destroy an enemy unable to move, or you're bluffing. As you are not disabling your enemy's engines before ramming, it is obvious that you are bluffing.
Kazecistan
31-08-2005, 04:20
Copenhaghenkoffenlaugh, please post your tech and your numbers. I will admit you only if I feel I want to, considering that you are way past the deadline, and the second and third too.

CTan, I realize it would not harm you, or any other. It moves your ships away, and does so with an asserting force. It says "I'm dangerous." and puts the rammer in charge. He is effectively pushing around the little kid on the play ground, when, if he wanted to, all he had to do was pick him up and wring his neck. Perhaps we are more advanced than that, many would like to think so, but I don't think we advance much beyond childhood. We put it all in a guise of intelligence and purpose, but it can all be simplified back to the interaction of young children.

Mech Warriors: Light Mechs - NOTE: Land based only; all Mechs mass produced.

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/hackman.gif

Hackman
The Hackman takes the virtues of its variant the Owens one step further by combining the fast speed and agility with Null Sig cloaking. This makes the Hackman one of the most difficult 'Mechs to pin down and destroy in the inner sphere. This 'Mech is perfectly suited for flag and data core retrieval as well as scouting and harassment.

Tonnage: 35
Speed: 34 mph
Offensive Weapons: Gauss Rifle, Crossbow SRM
Defensive/Special: Null Sig

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/cougar.gif

Cougar
The Cougar is a good all-purpose 'Mech that combines a balanced weapon load out with speed, jumpjets, and the anti-missile special defense. Despite the fact that it is not one of the heavier 'Mechs this balanced combination makes for a 'Mech that can fill multiple roles on the battlefield.

Tonnage: 35
Speed: 30 mph
Offensive Weapons: Pulse Laser, Autocannon, Javelin LRM
Defensive/Special: Jumpjets, Active AMS

Mechwarriors: Medium Mechs

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/uziel.gif

Uziel
Ton for ton, the Uziel is one of the most deadly 'Mechs found in any of the conflicts that rage across the inner sphere. Packing the death-dealing potential of a pair of PPCs into a medium 'Mech was a wise design choice. When combined with the speed and jumpjet capability that the Uziel has to offer it makes for a hard to hit target that keeps pounding away at the enemy with twin seeking, sparkling balls of 'Mech slaughter.

Tonnage: 50
Speed: 26 mph
Offensive Weapons: PPC, Machine Gun, Crossbow SRM
Defensive/Special: Jumpjets, Reflective Armor

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/belial.gif

Belial
Like it's hawkish relative the Uziel, the Belial boasts a whole lot of destructive potential crammed into a medium 'Mech sized package. Sporting twin Gauss rifles instead of PPCs the Belial makes for a mean sniper and all around dealer of death. The speed and jumpjet capability it has makes getting into position and getting out of Dodge when the heat comes down a simple task.

Tonnage: 50
Speed: 26 mph
Offensive Weapons: Pulse Laser, Gauss Rifle, Crossbow SRM
Defensive/Special: Jumpjets, Target Jamming

Mechwarriors: Heavy Mechs

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/maddog.gif

Mad Dog
The Mad Dog is the paradigm of balance between lethality and survivability. Relatively good speed, the Target Jamming defense, a respectable amount of armor and a good selection of long and short range weaponry make this a great choice for 'Mech pilots. If the enemy closes in with you to avoid your autocannon you can make confetti out of their 'Mech with the Crossbow SRMs and pulse lasers in no time.

Tonnage: 60
Speed: 26 mph
Offensive Weapons: Pulse Laser, Autocannon, Crossbow SRM
Defensive/Special: Target Jamming

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/bowman.gif

Bowman
The close cousin of the Catapult, the Bowman offers its own distinct set of charms. A pair of twin Hammer Missiles is enough alone to ruin anyone's day. When combined with the paired lasers, machine guns and reactive armor that the Bowman has to brag about, you've got yourself a lethal combination in any sort of battle conditions that can be imagined.

Tonnage: 65
Speed: 19 mph
Offensive Weapons: Laser, Machine Gun, Hammer Missile
Defensive/Special: Jumpjets, Reactive Armor

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/hellbringer.gif

Hellbringer
The Hellbringer is equipped with a weapon that is unique amongst all other 'Mechs: the flamer. The twin jets of superheated flames spit out by the Hellbringer are enough to give anyone a reason to think twice before taking on a Hellbringer. If that wasn't enough it also carries a load of twin autocannons and a Javelin LRM. Oddly enough it is common to find custom flame paint jobs on this 'Mech no matter where in the galaxy you run across one.

Tonnage: 70
Speed: 23 mph
Offensive Weapons: Flamer, Autocannon, Javelin LRM
Defensive/Special: Jumpjets, Active AMS

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/timber.gif

Timber Wolf
The Timber Wolf is a variant built on the same chassis as the Mad Cat. The designers of this 'Mech went a different route when it came to choosing the primary weapon systems, instead of twin PPCs they built this bad boy around a pair of twin Gauss rifles. Like the Mad Cat, the Timber Wolf performs well in long-range combat, able to defeat incoming LRMs with the AMS defense it is equipped with. But the pulse lasers and Crossbow SRMs make it a better close up fighting 'Mech than the Mad Cat.

Tonnage: 75
Speed: 23 mph
Offensive Weapons: Pulse Laser, Gauss Rifle, Crossbow SRM
Defensive/Special: Active AMS

Mechwarriors: Assault Mechs

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/staradder.gif

Star Adder
The Star Adder has one of the most distinct weapon loads of all the 'Mechs used in the inner sphere. It is one of two 'Mechs to have the plasma PPC and is also one of two 'Mechs that carries a flamethrower. The autocannons it also carries are often forgotten by the novice pilot who will almost invariably concentrate on the plasma PPCs or flamethrower. But a wise pilot will use the autocannon to attempt to knock down a 'Mech who can then be quickly dispatched by a burst from the flamethrower. Don't forget that the Star Adder's efficient heat sinks allow for continuous use of the flamethrower which, by the way, is a quick and efficient way of knocking down buildings or roasting 'Mechs; whatever is called for at the time. And to top it all off, the Star Adder is also one of the Assault Class 'Mechs that can perform an Alpha Strike.

Tonnage: 100
Speed: 21 mph
Offensive Weapons: Plasma PPC, Autocannon, Flamethrower
Defensive/Special: Alpha Strike

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/ragnarok.gif

Ragnarok
Whoever named this 'Mech got it right. Seeing it come at you on the field of battle may make you believe that you are looking at a god of war bringing the ultimate destruction down on you. The pair of Gauss rifles will do enough damage on their own to prove the axiom that there are no atheists in foxholes but when you throw into the mix four Javelin LRMs and a Lava Gun this giant metal beast is nearly unstoppable. The Ragnarok is also one of two 'Mechs that are blessed with the LosTech armor which will stop nearly all damage from every weapon type. Triggering the LosTech then wading into combat with Lava Gun blazing away is a sure way to make your presence felt in a manner most unpleasant for your enemies.

Tonnage: 100
Speed: 19 mph
Offensive Weapons: Lava Gun, Gauss Rifle, Javelin LRM
Defensive/Special: LosTech

Vehicles and Armor

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/battlearmor.gif

BattleArmor - NOTE: Officers and Commanders ONLY
The BattleArmor occupies an odd niche in the modern battlefield. It is not strong enough to go toe-to-toe with most 'Mechs although it does pack some serious heat with its mortar and pulse laser. Use the mortar to provide indirect fire that deals a serious amount of splash damage in a large burst, and then finish off the damaged enemy with a salvo from the pulse laser. Where the BattleArmor can really shine is by being used to jack enemy 'Mechs. Use the jumpjets to get close and then the claw to grab onto an enemy 'Mech and NeuroHack it for your own. Also remember that a 'Mech carrying a flag or data core will drop it when a BattleArmor latches on to its back.

Tonnage: N/A
Speed: 16 mph
Offensive Weapons: Pulse Laser, Mortar
Defensive/Special: Jumpjets

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/elemental.gif

Elemental
The Elemental fills a similar role in battle to the BattleArmor but unfortunately does not have quite the weapon power or special abilities that the BattleArmor does. What it does have going for it is a more powerful laser instead of the small pulse laser in the BattleArmor. And don't forget that while standing still on the battlefield, the Elemental does not appear on radar! This trick can be used to ambush an enemy that isn't paying enough attention.

Tonnage: N/A
Speed: 16 mph
Offensive Weapons: Laser, Crossbow SRM
Defensive/Special: Jumpjets

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/vtol.gif

Valkyrie VTOL
Vertical take-off and landing vehicles (VTOLs) take off like a helicopter and fly like an airplane. Use the VTOL to deliver salvage to your teammates, or bombs to your enemies—you can even move friendly tanks around the battlefield.

Tonnage: N/A
Speed: 60 mph
Offensive Weapons: Missiles, Bombs
Defensive/Special: None

http://mechassault2.com/images/vehicles/tank.gif

Rommel MKII Tank
Mounting a 'Mech-class gravity cannon and Null Sig shielding, the Rommel tank is a formidable opponent. Airlift your tanks to a remote sniping spot and maximize their effectiveness!

Tonnage: N/A
Speed: 20 mph
Offensive Weapons: Gravity Cannon (with zoom), Machine Gun
Defensive/Special: Null Sig

Okay, you won't be using anything not in space, so don't worry about those. Second, how many do you plan to use?
Copenhaghenkoffenlaugh

Ummm...well, considering that I have the entire fleet in orbit around Pluto (minus reserves of course), my military consists of about five percent of my population. Five percent of 856 million is 42 million, 800 thousand.

Twenty percent is my reserves, so I have eighty percent of the fleet available. I have a total of 34,240,000 men available. That would consist of approximately 1.8 million ships, I think...I may have to do the math again, but this is what I think I have at the moment.

You'd better be counting fighters in there and even then, you'll most likely be 'younger' teched than everyone but the MTers. For example, my entire fleet(In FT) is less than a thousand ships and I'm an 1.329 bill nation.

With the figures you gave(32,240,000men/1,800,000ships) thats only 19 people per ship.
Also this is a non-violent rp.
Copenhaghenkoffenlaugh
02-09-2005, 03:07
Okay, well, I was guessing. It's more along the lines of 1.3 million ships (counting fighters and space-bound MS). There are probably about 400-500K capital ships. Don't get me wrong. These cap ships can only hold about 3-8 fighters total. And I only have maybe 10,000 MS to boot.

And I'm bringing in the fleet because Copenhaghenkoffenlaugh believes that this confrontation may escalate further. And if this confrontation does escalate to a full-scale invasion, my forces will be more than capable enough to do battle with any enemy ground forces.

Perhaps we are more advanced than that, many would like to think so, but I don't think we advance much beyond childhood. We put it all in a guise of intelligence and purpose, but it can all be simplified back to the interaction of young children.

My diplomatic corps is rather more sophisticated than that I'm afraid. They're not likely to be bothered if they have to dodge someone's clumsy ramming efforts. As for destroying them, sure, you could but, well, it wouldn't be good for your health, and they know it.

Don't we love our illusions of sophistication? Always thinking that we are better than we are. My people don't admit it either.

Mr. really long name, I did not realize that your population was even near comparable to mine, I am sorry for making that judgment. Even so, Kazecistan has roughly 500 ships right now, not including fighters. To quote a friend, "With that many ships, they are either:
A) Made of tinfoil or
B) Made for the next star wars movie"

I will also make another quote, this time of myself in another RP. "I refuse, I Refuse, I REFUSE to be another ship abuisin', uber tech wankin' NS statistic."
In short, the fleet is out. Fleets should not be much larger than my strike fleets already there.

Another, you are not yet in the system, thus not around Pluto.

Last, if you would provide your revised numbers without fighters, I'll consider your application.
