Canada buys Alberta and Saskatchewan from the Northwest Territories.

Canada bought Alberta and Saskatchewan a month ago for $1,636,000 from the Northwest Territories after a long campaign for autonomy in both districts of the Northwest Territories. Plans for both districts are to enlarge them and to give them provincial status in 1905. We will grant them $1,030,375 each and $62,500 each for the next five years starting in the year 1905.

Whitney beats Ross in 1905 Ontario Election

James Whitney of the Conservatives elected premier of Ontario beating the Liberals of G. W. Ross. This is the first win for the Conservatives in Ontario for thirty-three years having a majority of sixty-nine seats to the Liberals twenty-eight seats and the Liberal Independent's seat.
