...Following the death of the great leader, Emperor Mathew Kellerman, fighting has erupted for the imperial crown. The late Emperor's son, Alexander Nubian Kellerman, who just turned 20 last april, has been opposed for power by several different factions within the Empire. Currently, imperial forces loyal to the Kellerman family are having an almost impossible time attempting to keep order within the cities, while in the countryside actual gunfights are happening. More as the story unfolds...

Imperial Palace, Taledon, Taledonia
2000 hours

"How are we doing Admiral?"

Alexander was sitting at the head of the round glass table stationed in the dark war room. He wore a military uniform, as the Imperial Armor had been refused to him until his power could be confirmed. His hands were clasped together on the table; and his glare was at the highly decorated officer at the other end of the table, and seemingly ignoring the other decorated officers and government officials that sat in on the meeting.

"Not good, Alex. The various rival factions have taken control of all the outer territories, and our forces are having trouble keeping them out, and keeping order in the Taledonian system."

Dropping his head for a minute, Alexander looked back up at the officer, "Sallustius, you we're my fathers longtime friend, and trusted advisor. You served the Empire and him well in your life, and I can only hope you can continue to do so. But when you tell me that I am surrounded and outnumbered, I just can't see the usual plan that you form in your words."

Sallustius replied, "Because I have no plan this time, Alex. I am an old man now, and my mind is not as strong; I cannot think like I use to."

Getting a bit frustrated, Kellerman replied, "Then I don't see why you are down here. You were suppose to retire 10 years ago, and you refused, are you sure you made the right choice?"

Keeping his stern face, the Admiral answered, "I'm here as an advisor. Like your father, you have always asked on me for advice and information, and that is why I am here."

"Then what do you advise we do?" asked the would be Emperor.

Thinking for a moment, the elderly figure responded, "Perhaps, it is time to ask for aid from the Republic. Perhaps they will be favorable to your family, and not the others."

Florence Verreti stood on the balcony of the provincial palace addressing the crowd that had gathered, and the rest of the Taledonian Empire.

"For 4 million years, the Kellerman family has ruled over our great civilisation! Yes, they have accomplished many things, but also commited terrible acts. Well I say it's been 4 million years too long!"

"When the first city, Taledon, was founded by our ancestors and the great and just Republic lived, an elected Senate ruled the people, not an Emperor! But, it was found that a Senate could not do it's job when faced with the duty of an Empire, so Mathew Kellerman dismissed the Senate and became the first Emperor almost 40 years ago."

"But was he really the first Emperor? Since the founding, the Kellerman family has held the position of Imperator in the Senate, and held the Senators in their hand! They literally controlled us, through false democracy! But, there was the loyal and honourable Verreti family also! The family that fought the Kellermans for years in the Senate, and also during the civil war."

"When the first Verreti family member was elected Imperator, the Kellermans declared war and removed him to install another Kellerman, depriving the rest of the population their say in the nation, and once again proving that they were dictators! We, the Verreti are the rightful rulers of the Empire! And we will be the rulers of the Empire!"

With that, he concluded and walked back into the palace. Walking along with his aids and advisors towards his temporary office, Florense asked his friend Galerius, "What have our men secured?"

"7 out of the 13 systems in the Empire. The Coalin have another 5, and the Kellerman have the Taledonian system only. They will fall soon."

"My lord majesty, our forces have defeated the last of the Kellerman defenders. The planet is now firmly under our control, as well as all the other planets in the system." reported Colonel Marcus.

Amulius Coalin turned to look at the man, "Excellent news, the Kellerman are virtually defeated, and will no longer be of any threat. The Verreti have taken most of the territories tho, and are the major opposition to the Imperial Crown. We must attack them quickly, while they recover from their last campaign. Ready the troops immeadiatly to move out."

Saluting, the Colonel turned and walked off to perform his duties.

Just outside the capitol city of Nimits, Planet Clahanesh, Taledonian System
2400 hours

"Shit, we can't hold them off, we need to pull back!" shouted Captain Orick to his men stationed in the security bunker just outside the planet's capitol.

The second wave of the Verreti forces attempting to take the planet was washing over the fledging defenders. The planet had been lost with the exception of the capitol, and it looked as if that would be lost soon also.

The 6000 Verreti shocktroopers assualting the city were making short work of the retreating 500 Kellerman shocktroopers that were stationed in the bunker, which acted not so much as a defense, but as a means to slow the enemy down. But they could not hold them long, and that was why they were running.

The city itself had been evacuated, the civilians sent to another planet more on the interior of the system, while the remaining 5000 defending shocktroopers in the city were frightened, but remaining strong and firm.

The artillery from the city caused massive energy blasts to occur in the ranks of enemy soldiers, and the spread out bombing runs being conducted by what little air power they had left was also having an impact, but it wouldn't do much, as the enemy also had air power, air power that heavily outnumbered that of the defenders.

Reinforcements had been called for, but it was unsure when they would arrive, or if at all...

"Captain, we have word that reinforcements are on their way." reported a shocktrooper.

Captain Orick took cover for a second up on the rampart, 'How many men are we getting?" he asked before popping back up to fire on the enemy soldiers that were at the city walls.

"Not Taledonians sir, Deatharon military personel. They're coming to evacuate us." replied the soldier.

Taking on an agry face, Orcik cursed at the man, "Evacuate us?! We can't abandon the city, if we lose this planet then the Verreti have a foothold in the system, and that can't be allowed!"

"That's our orders, sir. We're being restationed in Taledon. Let's just hope we can last until they arrive."

Orick cursed some more before popping up again and firing on the Verreti.

Thank you kindly for coming. We are in your debt.

That was the reply from the surrounded shocktroopers that had now been pushed back into the planetary palace, and only numbered roughly 400 now.

But the response from the Verreti ships in orbit of the planet was different when they saw the Deatharon ship decloak.

"Admiral Johnson, a Deatharon vessel has entered the system and is heading towards the planet. They may have hostile intent, sir." reported an officer.

The man placed in charge of the invasion of the system by Florense Verreti himself, Admiral Cleman Johnson, was already monitering the new ship from a control panel.

"Send our ships to intercept, Captain." he ordered.

"Yes, Admiral." replied the Captain.

After the orders were relayed to the other ships, 2 Protectorate Class Battle Cruisers, 2 Imperial Class Battle Cruisers, and 6 Typhoon Class Destroyers started heading towards the Deatharon vessel; with sheilds raised and weapons locking on.

It was only a matter of minutes before the intercepting ships opened fire on the vessel, but ceased when it entered the atmosphere of the planet. They resolved to let them pick up the stranded shocktroopers, and destroy them when they tried to leave.

Harvest City, Planet Amuli, Harvest System
500 hours

Florense Verreti was walking down the hallway of the palace discussing things with his advisors. Everyone in the palace, in fact the entire part of the Empire that the Verreti controlled, was happy. News of the Kellerman forces being heavily beaten on Clahanesh made everyone happy.

It was a good time, and it looked like the Verreti would rule the Empire, but they had made one mistake. They had forgotten the Coalin. And this mistake was to be a crippling blow to the Verreti.

"Florense!" came the shouts of an aid running to catch up with him, "Coalin forces have arrived in the system, and have begun a massive invasion of the planet."

Whirling around in rage, Verreti spat his words at the aid, "What? Send a message to every available soldier in the system to get over here. Tell every ship in the system to go attack their fleets! Do it, now!"

Admiral Guevera was looking at the invasion of the planet below, when suddenly the ship began to rock violently.

"Report!" he shouted.

"Sir, Verreti forces have engaged us."

"Call for wave 2. We'll take this planet and capture their leader, giving us control over their armies and territory. Then WE can attack the Kellerman and become the Imperial Family! All hail the Coalin!"

"All hail!"

Heavy fire was exchanged between the ships, but behind the defending Verreti ships, came another 10 Coalin vessels to join the battle and relieve pressure on their allies. Millions of fighters and bombers came from the hangers and added even more to the lightshow.

The 3 Imperial Class Battle Cruisers of the Verreti were surrounded and taking heavy fire from the 4 Imperial Class Battle Cruisers, 2 Protectorate Class Battle Cruisers and 4 Typhoon Destroyers of the Coalin.

The millions of small craft fought and weaved through the fray of laser beams, energy blasts, and torpedoes. The bombers continually got up close to the larger ships and fired a few missiles and energy bombs, but were cut down by the energy blasters seconds later.

Nimits City, Planet Clahanesh, Taledonian System
200 hours

A large energy blast slammed into the last mech of the defending soldiers. Things were looking bad as the remaining Kellerman shocktroopers were pinned behind wreckage and armored units as they fought for their lives against the invading Verreti troops that had taken the rest of the city. They were being fired upon from all sides, and casualties were high.

"We're the fuck are those Deatharon ships?! We can't hold out any longer and need an evack immeadiatly!" shouted Orick into his comm link.

His remaining men were all around him, hiding behind the various armored units, firing rapidly at the advance of the enemy. Another energy blast took out a section to his left, and revealed an open spot for the enemy to move into the small "secure" square they had created.

"Get some men over there!" Orick shouted.

The Pillager Battle Tanks close to the open gap started firing their blasters and energy cannons at the advancing ranks of enemy shocktroopers, while 20 friendly shocktroopers ran up and took cover behind the wreckage and rubble in the area; in which they hid until the opportune moment to pop up and fire demonically into the crowd.

That small square had to be kept, or the Deatharon forces would have nowhere to land, and would be shot from the sky by the enemy artillery and armored units.

If things weren't bad before, things got much worse for the Kellerman troops. Just outside the city, a Verreti destroyer landed and unloaded another 5000 shocktroopers, plus more armored units and the first wave of their mechs.

The mechs were the worst part about it. The giant red raptures moved through the streets, their terrifying screaches could be heard from the other side of the large city. Their talons activated to turn into energy beams, which they smashed into buildings making them collapse.

If the Deatharon troops didn't arrive soon, then it would be a huge loss for the Kellerman family...

IC: The Undying Anger’s private chambers were filled with an bug like buzzing noise, reflecting the anger of their names and feelings at this development in Taledonia. A collapse in leadership had occurred and the hierarchs needed to be reinstated. Already a fleet had been dispatched with a few others as reserves. The first wave consisted of five frigates, two destroyers and a cruiser.

Shipmaster Polsalomee’s 4 jaws clicked together expressing his obvious impatience. This was an honor, to fight the hierarchs enemies and come to their rescue. He had over ten thousand warriors at his command. Those warriors would not be out gunned for long.

Turning towards on of the holographic screens, he pushed a few icons delivering orders. A slight pause, but then they were confirmed. One of his other screens began blinking in orange over one of the frigates, indicating a frigate was giving the abandon-ship-order, another pattern began as the front of the hull began flashing, meaning that it was entering orbit. He grinned as it began.

This ended shortly, because his ship and the others were already positioned to fire, all it took was vectors. His hands flew with the speed of the wind, and the plasma flew even faster.

The black void of the outside was brightened as the red frenzy of plasma tore through space at the enemy vessels, eager to bring death…

The Verreti ships protecting the planet were totally obliterated. The ships now headed down to the surface to continue the invasion and hopefully capture the Verreti leader.

Landing on the planet, thousands of shocktroopers unlaoded, along with hundreds of armored units and mechs. These landed and unloaded outside the city of Harvest, and started moving towards the great walled city; with the intent of destruction.

The Verreti forces in the city opened fire with their artillery and armored units, while the cities mechs started moving to counter the Coalin mechs. The raptures went against the raptures, while the commandos ran at each other, firing their large energy cannons and energy gattling guns at their counterparts. The shocktroopers of both sides ran at each other to meet in the middle, firing rapidly and avoiding inevitable death if they were caught under one of the mechs.

Ic: OF-4 was recalled from it's mission to the Verreti world. They entered with weapons hot and began to fire at the supprised Coalin ships from behind with every thing they had.

Simultaneously all Kazeci Ion cannons fired. They looked for weak spots in enemy shielding, armor, and structure. Most had more than one beam in a specific spot. Fighters that got in the way were obliterated. With the new improvements to the Kazeci ships, other weapons were able to continue firing while the Ion beams took their toll. SPPTs lashed out, creating tiny holes in shielding just long enough to allow their plasma torp. to smash into enemy hull plating. Large Zats provided a hail of fire to all parts of enemy shielding, hopefully weakening it over all. Small Zats concentrated on fighters and small craft. EWC waves crushed fighters on their way to smash into enemy hulls. Missiles chased fighters by the dozen and Torpedoes streaked through the short distances between ships, detonating on impact. Kazeci fighters swarmed out of bays by the hundred. 20% were light drone fighters, 30% were Drone Bombers, and the other 50% were Heavy Drone Fighters. They traveled in fives assuring their dominance in dog fights.

The Kazeci war fleet kept up its assault, at close range of course. The Kazeci HBCs pushed their way into low orbit around the planet, forcing their foes to either move or be rammed. Once a significant chance of survival existed for the GASs, they were launched. 50 of these deadly ships descended upon the planet, a total of 5,000 troops and 700 HWACs. The carriers withdrew back to their fleet.

On the Ground
The GASs flew around the city, clearing space with their EWCs and heavy plasma cannon turrets. Once sufficiently large holes in enemy ranks were made, HWACs began to pour out of the back of the GASs while they were still in the air. Those with the rapid-fire Zat turrets began to graze the ranks of the Coalin troops. Others, which had the heaver plasma turret mount, began to harass armored vehicles. The GASs moved toward the city, clearing out any Coalin troops they had a clear shot at. One by one they landed and the rear hatches opened. Troops poured out, taking defensive positions through out the city. The GASs took off and began to decimate enemy ranks from the air.

700 hours

The battle for the gates had been won by the Coalin forces, but the battle for the city was evenly based. Massive balls of energy flew through the air heading to both sides as the artillery was fired. One of the energy blasts slammed into a building, causing rubble to fall on a Coalin Rapture mech, but the behemoth merely lifted it's head and let out another terrifying scream before releasing another barrage of missiles at an enemy artillery position before activating it's energy talons and slashing through another building, causing it to collapse on the men below.

The commando mechs slid through the streets, firing rapidly at both enemy on the ground, which looked like ants to them, and the other mechs that were placed against them.

Thousands of shocktroopers from both sides filled every street in the city, hiding behind whatever cover they could take while periodicly popping up and firing another burst at the enemy; while the armored units stormed through the rubble covered streets, blasters and energy cannons blarring.

Overhead, TF-20s flew overhead, engaging in dogfights with each other and firing hundreds of missiles into the air and down at the streets. Ten Verreti fighters flew to attack a Coalin Rapture mech, and managed to dodge the missiles fired at them, but once they got to close, the air mines released by the mech caught them, and if they survived that, the energy talons made short work of them.

"And our reinforcements?"

"A large force of Sonaj men, plus a good size of their total fleet. The Covenant forces are ready to be redeployed, and the Kazec are keeping the Coalin off of us. We also have reports that the Coalin have invaded the system also, and have tied up the defending fleet in a battle for the planet of Harvest, leaving only ground forces on the others. Ic: Brad and his soldiers entered the room in which the leaders of the Verreti were doing whatever it is that they do. His 40 men took up positions around the exits, heavily guarding them. The remainder formed a perimeter around the walls. Brad spoke, "I'm afraid the Kellerman family has begun an offensive, directed at this world. I'm afraid Kazecistan can no longer assist you in this struggle."
Verreti began and was quickly cut off by a Zat blast from Brad's staff. What followed was a slaughter, all 40 Obsidian solders began to fire with pin point accuracy, quickly switching to hand to hand combat due to the close quarters of the room.

Kazeci troops on the ground began to fire at Taledonians indiscriminately.

I figured I couldn't just waltz right in, but I wasn’t refused. My first post, 40 of the most elite Kazeci soldiers accompanied Brad, their division leader, to meet the Verreti leaders. Left room for you to stop me, but in your subsequent post you said nothing of it's existence. I decided to continue on, as I hadn’t been stopped.

Now, your plans wouldn't include finding out about Kazeci support, would they? I simply can't allow that, thus the Ic post below. I'd rather this wasn't ignored as well.

Ic: A message was sent to the Verreti, it was strange, very strange. It included unknown codes and data. Upon being submitted to the computer for analysis, the process would begin. Two viruses, each hidden deep in the code, would set to work deleting any and all files pertaining to Kazeci support of the Verreti family. They were designed to evolve and change form once a minute, planting seeds in every program they found so as to live on after one was deleted. Specifically designed for Taledonian computers, they worked with the utmost efficacy.

"We must leave now!" screamed an officer to Verreti.

A man sitting in front of a computer suddenly got mad, "Close off the links with all our computers. There's virus' in the system. We are completely shut off."

Verreti turned and looked out the window at the raging battle outside, "Very well, get to the hanger, were leaving."

The people inside the palace ran from their stations to get to the nearest transports, which took off and thanks to their cloaks, managed to get out relatively unharmed.

Meanwhile, the Coalin forces had broken through the lines of the Verreti, and the city was taken. The rest of the system had no defenses, and would be taken very soon; but for now, it was a large victory, as the Verreti capitol had been succesfully captured.

Kazecistan attempted to contact Verreti, secretly of course.

Kazeci troops began to disappear from the streets and buildings they were in, the GASs flying a grid pattern and transporting them aboard. The HWACs were left on the planet to kill as many Coalin as possible before suffering a similar fate themselves. Kazeci forces began to pull out of the system.

Inside Taledonian Computers:
All of the two viruses were trapped when the computers were disconnected from the network, with the exception of one seed. That seed had made it out into the network just before the shut down. It proceeded to multiply and complete it's task, after which it deleted itself.

Acrute City, Planet Acrute, Golin System
1000 hours

The streets sat dark and cold in the heavy downpour of the night. The streetlights shone light into some of it, but the darkness was too much for the forces of light to handle, and would stay the dominant one until the day came again.

Captain Marcus sloshed through the puddles of the street, keeping his place at the front of the block formation. He and his devision of Praetorians had passed this location for the third time tonight, and were getting rather bored, but still kept alert.

The ten men marched along in almost perfect formation; adorned in their official Praetorian uniforms, their red capes replaced with one of blue to symbolise that they were loyal to the Coalin family, and not the former ruling family, the Kellermans.

Passing infront of the high stone walls and steel gates surrounding the Regional Palace, the men stood up tall and made themselves resemble fresh and happy about their work, merely to not look bad infront of the honour guards standing infront of the gate. But once out of sight, they dropped down into their boredom once again.

"Hey Captain, I think I just saw something." came the voice of one of the men.

Marcus turned and looked at his devision which had stopped with him, "I'm sure it's nothing, this city has one of the lowest crime rates in the Empire."

Blood spilled from his throat as it suddenly split open, with no explanation. Seconds later, the entire devision had either their throats slit, or a fatal stab wound in the heart.

The small distortions made their way towards the palace walls. Dropping to the forming puddle of blood under them, the two honour gaurds that had been guarding the front gate fell with their hands on their open throats; freeing up a passage. An invisible force pushed open the gate slightly, and only a moment later, reclosed it. The same fate as the two earlier honour gaurds at the gate was now shared by the two positioned at the doors of the palace.

Unhooking his grapple, Agent 7 closed the window of the palace's main office. Deactivating his cloak, he looked around the dark room, the mooonlight shining softly off of his wet suit. 5 other men decloaked also, and began removing their wet clothes, revealing their fresh, dry, stealth suits that had been waiting underneath.

Pressing a button on his mask, 7 used his x-vision to see through the walls at the other room. In that room, was the agents target, the bedroom of the Coalin leader. In which the large bed sat, on which Amulius Coalin, and his wife Peatra lay sleeping quietly. Their only child, a 3 month old daughter, sat in the cribb beside the bed, sucking her thumb.

Moving to the door which connected the two rooms, the 6 agents moved inside the room, and selected their targets. 3 chose Amulius, another 2 chose his wife, and the last had the infant. Almost simultaniously, a small, red energy blade slid out of the suits bracers. With a nod from 7, they all plunged their blades into the bodies of their victims, killing the last true members of the Coalin family.

Reactivating their cloaks, they stepped out of the room and exited through the window once more.

A bolt of lightning could be seen throught the window as seconds later a roaring blast of thunder came. Alexander Kellerman stood looking out the window of his study, while his mentor and friend, Sallustius, sat behind his desk talking on the phone.

"Right, I'll deliver the message." putting the phone back down onto the receiver, the Admiral stood up and walked over to his friend, "Blackbox has reported in, the mission was a success. The Coalin are dead. Without them, their men will likely surrender to either us or the Verreti."

Turning to face Sallustius, Alex made a quick smile, "That's good news. And I'm sure once we send our forces to Harvest they will choose to join us, or face destruction."

"That's the plan.." Sallustius finished.

3 shuttles left the Imperial Class Battle Cruiser that just entered orbit around the planet. Heading down towards the planet, they flew in a line, as if the 2 shuttles on the sides were protecting the third.

Landing on the platform of the Regional Palace in Conor City, the 2 side shuttles opened their doors and unloaded 16 honour gaurds in total. The third shuttle then opened it's doors and unloaded another 4 honour gaurds, 2 high ranking officers, and Florense(Verreti).

Walking along the platform towards the arriving shuttles, came General Alexander Corneli, who was also the governor of the system.

"Greetings, my lord, and welcome to the Solus System!" the General greeted.

Walking along with the man towards the doors of the palace, Verreti answered furiously, "Cut the crap you idiot. My capitol was just attacked and captured, and I was forced to flee. We are the laughing stock of the Empire if we can't even hold on to our capitol, even the Kellermans did that!"

Trying to ignore the harsh words from his savior, Corneli asnwered, "We have the royal chambers ready for your stay, and everything else is ready for you also. We have looked forward to your arrival, my lord."

"Good." concluded Florense as he walked into the palace doors, followed closely by the honour guards, and then the General and his Preatorians.

Coming along at the head of the allied fleets, was the remains of the Kellerman fleet. 8 Imperial Class Battle Cruisers, 4 Protectorate Class Battle Cruisers, 30 Typhoon Class Destroyers, 47 Freedom Class Frigates, 8 Support Class Frigates, 3 Mobile Angel Cannons and 12 Star Launcher Class Carriers.

Then another wave of launches came from the carriers. 24000 new vehicles launced. Their type was unrecognised, most likely a product of the quarter century in isolation. They were big enough to mount eighteen capitol missiles, and all of those were anti-fighter missiles.

Most of the bombers held back, though a few squadrons (1 squadron=10 ships) slowly moved upward in space, trying to get above the fray.

"Move in the fleet, engage them head on." ordered Kellerman, paying no attention to the fighter that just blew up infront of the bridge.

The two Taledonian fleets moved in closer to each other, and then all hell broke loose. The massive blasts of energy came from both sides, as each fired their crystal angel cannons. After the beams faded, the ships that had been caught in the blasts sat motionless, as their crew had been completely destroyed and nothing remained of them.

But from the remaining ships, thousands of torpedoes, laser fire and everything else the two fleets posessed started flying at their counterparts. The poor fighters in the middle of it all ceasing to attack each other, and more concentrate on dodging all the crossfire.

As the crystal angel cannons fired, the Sonaian fighter commanders were surprised at first. Weapons that didn´t do any damage? Were they trying to blind the enemy? Then they saw the stillness of the ships.

"Holy shit, get away from those things!", the supreme commander ordered.
"All fighter wings join up on their left flank! NOW!"

Then the situation got more complicated; As the Kellerman fleets moved in towards the Verreti forces and fired upon them, there wasn´t much the fighters could do.

"Evasive manoeuvers, evasive manoeuvers!" the commanders started shouting at once.
"Stop hunting them, join up! Do NOT fire unless they fly into your aim! Head for the left flank!"

The fighters did their best, though they were scattered all over the battlefield, having been divided in the fight. For many, the shots being fired from every direction proved too much for them, though many were skilled, or lucky, enough to follow their orders.

We are able to provide transport of crew members to your downed ships that have been hit by Angels. Any and all ships that wish to spare crew for these downed vessels must simply broadcast on this frequency to receive cloaked transport to one of the downed ships.

"Send a message back, tell them we shall have crews rea..." Verreti was cut off as the "dead" ships were destroyed by the enemy fire, "Cancel that Captain."

Thinking for a minute, "Captain, this is the perfect opportunity. The Kellerman fleet and all their allies are tied up here. Send orders for the strike to commence." ordered Florense.

A highly coded message was sent to 8 Battle Cruiser, and 23 Destroyers, which promtly started accelerating away from the battle and following the command ship on which Verreti was. A few seconds later, the ships vanished in a quick bolt of light.

Kellerman watched the events, then asked a crewman, "Lieutenant, do you know where they went?"

"Yes, sir, they have made a direct jump to Taledonia, sir." came the reply.

Sallustius jumped in, "They must be planning to take the system while we are all here. The small defense we left there would be brushed aside by all the ships he took. I would advise sending reinforcements, Alex."

Nodding, Alexander replied, "Yes, have the ship move away from the battle. Order everyone else to continue the fight."

"Shouldn't we take more ships with us?" asked Sallustius with a bit of curiosity in his tone.

Shaking his head and trying to contain the grin that was growing on his face, Alex gave the order, "No, just us. Make the jump."

Moving out of the center of the Taledonian fleet, the Defiance disappeared from the area without explanation.

2 seconds later, the ship re-emerged in the Taledonian system, just outside the planet Taledonia. The Verreti ships sat in a debris field of the late defenders of the system. What would happen, was yet to be seen.

They disapeared into hyperjump, the form of hyperspace no living thing can handle, but is at over a biollion times the sspeed of light.

They emerged in the Taledonian system, near the planet Taldon.

They quickly targeted the Taledonian military centers and moved into kinetic mode, to ensure minimal civilian casualties.

The targeting was done by a cloaked. ship. More massive than a supermonitor, it had taken many years to make. A small primitive world had been led to belive that a 500 kilometer long crashed ship was a holy shrine that needed to be repaired. They were treined enough to repair it, and given the items to install. Once in space, the ship had been refitted with Stellar Nations technology and weapons. However, its weapons were stil not entirely funtional, and it provided more of a mobile targeting platform for hyperjumped missiles.

Heading down to the planet, the Defiance paid no attention to the other Verreti ships, who paid no attention to them surprisingly. The fact was that the ships had been left with skeleton crews while the rest were down on the planet.

The Imperial Capitol, Taledon, was in flames, and it's streets barren. The Maxim was positioned above the Imperial Palace, which had a large chunk of the marble roof missing.

Sallustius shook his head in disgrace as he looked upon the capitol, the glory of Taledonia, virtually destroyed. "What now, Alex?" he asked.

"He most likely already has the Imperial Armor, and the Imperial Crown, but he needs the sword to be deemed Emperor. Take us to Mount Talean, the sword should have been returned there after my father was killed." getting up from his chair, Kellerman made his way to the door. "Assemble a strike force, they will have a welcome party for us on the surface."

Anthony Forester sat in the cockpit of his TF-20 strike fighter. It was the worst day of his life. His objective had switched from killing the enemy fighters and bombers, to avoiding the crossfire from the two sides.

"Go to the....flank!" came a failing comm link.

It appeared that many of the fighters were trying to get out of the fray and reground on the left flank, and that's just what he would do. He punched his thrusters into full and took off towards the left flank, just barely dodging a torpedo on his way.

His ship was scorched, and the shields almost gone, but he knew that it wouldn't be the ship, in any condition, that would save him, but his skill. He let out a sigh of relief as he came out of the battle. Regaining his cool, he turned his ship and headed towards the closest enemy vessel, which was a Stellar Nations Super Moniter. Flying close to the hull so that it would be hard for their weapons to hit him, he tapped his trigger, firing several rounds of energy blasts accompanied by 2 energy missiles into the hull of the vessel, making a black scorch mark, but not sure if any damage was done as his controls were starting to go.

Mount Talean, 30km outside Taledon, Taledonia

The standard weather of Taledonia, hard rain, was not substituted tonight. As the last rays of sunlight went out over the hills, the rain turned cold as it came down on the hundred Verreti shocktroopers sitting outside a small whole in the mountain.

It was a rather boring time for them, having been brought away from the battle, and not pillaging the city anymore. But that boredom was taken away as the doors of a shuttle opened, revealing it's insides as the Kellerman forces fired their blasters at the startled men. Decloaking, 30 shuttles stood on the plateau, the men inside unloading and securing the perimeter.

"Look at it Sallustius. Mount Talean, ancient home of the gods, and resting place of the Sword of Taledon. All my life I've waited for my time to come to the holy temple and take the challenge that would make me Emperor." said Alexander stepping out of one of them.

His elder advisor getting out behind him, "This is the second time I've been here, the first time was with your father. Are you ready to go in?"

Hesitating for a moment, "Not alone, I would really appreciate if you came with me."

"I can come with you as far as the Temple doors, but no further." replied Sallustius.

Nodding, Alexander led the way to the small entrance. They walked for a good thirty minutes in darkness, the light of the temple finally started showing. As they turned the corner, the large marble wall sat guarding the way, the blue flames from the torches shed a sweet glow on the small pools of water. The blue light reflected magnificently off of the ivory doors.

Walking over to the doors, "Well my friend, this is where I leave you." Pulling them open, a red blast emerged and caught the man in the gut, dropping him to the ground.

Alexander drew his plasma pistol and took aim at the shocktrooper inside the temple hall, firing the green bolt into the mans head. He then ran over to attend to his friend.

"Sallustius, are you alright?" he asked.

The old man opened his tired eyelids, "Better than ever Alex. I always knew I would go defending my leader." a faint smile on his face.

"No, your going to live, here, just keep pressure on the wound and use the comm link to call for help." Alex pleaded.

But it was too late, his friend, his mentor, was gone.

All of the HBM shotssoared past the Taledonian Fleet.
that a 500 kilometer long crashed ship was a holy shrine that needed to be repaired.

OOC: Holy....shit... SN, you really don't have any idea what the hell a fleet is, do you? No offense, but, a FIVE HUNDRED KILOMETRE CRASHED SHIP would create an ice age, let alone the fact that a ship of that size would take all of your nation's resources to maintain. Dude, I am seriously verging on ignoring you...

small primitive world had been led to belive that a 500 kilometer long crashed ship was a holy shrine that needed to be repaired. They were treined enough to repair it, and given the items to install. Once in space, the ship had been refitted with Stellar Nations technology and weapons. However, its weapons were stil not entirely funtional, and it provided more of a mobile targeting platform for hyperjumped missiles.
OOC: It is 311 miles long... that's Las Vegas(NV) to Hawthorne(NV)... a small moon unless it's only a mile wide... that thing has it's own Gav.! if something like that crashed the planet is doomed! and there is no way of landing it! nobody in their right mind would build it! i know Krys'nee would... but they are never in their right minds... and like HT said it would take all a nation's resources to maintain it... the only thing i can see it used for is a PB...

As the fighters successfully started to fight the Verreti left flank, the admiral, and ranking officer, Tirq gave orders.

"Engage the main fleets! Gather up, spearhead formation! Send in the bombers to attack! Fifth fleet, head, sixth and seventh behind!"

With that, the Sonaian fleets, who had been fairly still throughout the battle, got in motion. As the fleets joined up in the Spearhead-formation, their fire concentrated, they immediatly started to divide the Verreti forces, as was intended.

Meanwhile, quite far from the battle, a single, small V-Class Arcani scout ship arrived, cloaking itself but staying still.

Admiral Corsek was on the bridge of the Hellfire, surveilling the scene.

"Admiral, our allies are engaging. The Verreti forces are being split in two by their fleet." came a report.

Turning, "Excellent, press the attack, every starship we have is to attack the Verreti forces. This is the deciding battle."

Mount Talean

The marble floors of the temple shone in the blue flames of the torches hung around the room of the temple hallway. It was a long corridor, leading to a single door at the other end.

Kellerman walked down to the door, his dagger in hand. Opening the door slowly and quietly, he stepped into the Temple's shrine. The great round room of marble and ivory, with the golden statue of the ancient god Talean on the far wall. In the middle of the dark room, which had only one light shining down on the middle, was the pedastle on which the sword of Taledon lay. In front of that, sat Verreti, saying a final prayer to the god, totally unaware of Alexanders pressence, or so it seemed.

Walking over to the kneeling man, Alex made ready to plunge the blade into the mans neck, and was ready to do it at any minute when suddenly,

"Hello Alex."

Shock filled the boys mind as Verreti stood up and turned around, the sword in his hands. He was adorned in the Imperial armor, stunning gold with a green cape hanging down the back, green, the colour of the Verreti.

"I knew you were here the whole time, and I also knew you would come here before that. But you are too late, I have everything, I am the Emperor!" he barked out, a small chuckle following.

Alexander's face was enraged, and his answer cold, "You will never be the Emperor."

Lifting the blade up, as if ready to strike, Verreti said, "There is nothing you can do boy, the Kellerman family is through and now, a new power will arise."

Dropping his dagger, Kellerman drew his longsword, the silver blade shining pitifully next to the one of platinum attached to the hilt of the Sword of Taledon.

(OOC: In case any of you think I am, I'm not just going to kill Verreti and say it's over, I'm gonna base the fight on the space battle. When one side starts winning, that guy will start winning. Whoever wins the battle, will be determined by who's side is still standing at the space battle.)

"Sir, Gigaton is reporting that both Taledonian and Verreti forces are engaging heavily over the planet Taldon."

"Take us there, Captain."

"Aye, sir. Recover the small craft first?"

"No, have them jump by themselves."

"Aye, sir. Sending signal to jump in three, two, one, jump in progress. Jump completed."

"Engage Taldeonian forces. Concentrate on one ship at a time, largest or most dangerous ones first. Though the starting target is this ship" The Admiral pointed to the ship that was, to all indications, the Taledonian flagship.

"Aye sir. Lieutenant, put me through to all ships."

"Done sir."

"All Stellar Nations ships. Concentrate on the target designated TS-12. All fire is to be directed at this target. Then switch targeting to the largest or most dangerous ships. All ships are to fire upon the same target. You will recve targeting information from this ship. Fighters, you are to engage any enemy small craft. Gunboats and bombers, follow the instructions previous."

With that, the entire fleet opened up on the ship. Missiles that missed targeted the closest ship possible and engaged that target.

Thousnads of missiles, beams, bombers, and gunboats lanced towards the ship. It had only moments to live.*

A Chronosian attack was suspected, no, expected, and now they would deal with the forces there.

In reaction to the Chronosian forces, all the force on the Taledonian side of the planet were called up. The 15 rapture mechs ran to the front of the city, where the 20 commando mechs were already sitting there, firing their missiles and mortars at the advancing Chronosian force. Their large assualt guns blazing thousands of energy blasts at the enemy.

Below them, behind the recently set up sandbags, sat the 3 thousand shocktroopers of the capitols garrison; along with 20 battle tanks. On the rooftops of the highest buildings, sat the artillery pieces, firing large arcs of energy into the air that came slamming back down to earth, aimed at the Chronosians.

Overhead, flew all the TF-20s of the planet, 900 of them, all going in to fire missiles and blasters the same at their targets.

The battle raged on, and looked better for the Verreti than the Kellerman. The larger fleet, combined with the Stellar Nations ships and the weapons from the planet gave them an advantage over their enemies.

Small explosions occured all over as countless fighters got destroyed, while parts of the starships sheildings appeared everytime that part got hit by something.

Fire kept being exchanged between the two, and mass destruction was happening.

Mount Talean

As the swords locked, Alexander couldn't help retreating out of range for awhile to absorb the shock of the charge. The sword of Taledon was a superior blade than his by far, and had left a rather large chip in his blade. But that was no matter, he regained himself and charged at Verreti, full of rage.

Diving into the air before arriving, Alex slashed his blade at Cornelius' neck, but his opponents arm swung and caught him in the gut, knocking him to the ground.

Inside were the Scourge-cannons, still in experiment state these massive weapons were only able to fire a single shot, draining it´s seperate power core immediatly. "Captain, we've lost shields, and our hull is heavily damaged." came an officer on the battle cruiser Arthur.

Captain Tiberius looked over at the man. He then moved over to navigations.

"Give me control." he ordered to the man there, "And have everyone onboard retreat to the excape pods."

The ship slid through space, hull breaches occuring all over as it got pelted by torpedoes and energy fire. A fuel rod cannon hit near the bridge, and took a good chunk out of the ship.

Thousands of small pods shot out of the ship, and seconds later disappeared in a ray of light. But the ship itself kept on going towards it's target; ignoring everything shot at it. It navigated into the middle of the Verreti fleet, and found the command ship. An Imperial Class Battle Cruiser called the Lifeforce. Excellerating, the Arthur smalled into the Lifeforce, causing both ships to explode in a huge blast of fire, which quickly extinguished itself and left a large debris field.

A planetary cannon fired 3 shots into the air. They flew out of the atmosphere and into space, crashing into a Kellerman destroyer, creating a large hull breach and leaving the ship crippled. The bombardment continued on both fleets.

The result of the ongoing battle was thousands of small pods fleeing the area, while their origins were destroyed in large explosions that sent the nearby ships shacking.

The mighty sword of Taledon came into contact with the two energy blades, locking the two men up momentarily until they pushed away from each other. Another charge ensued by both of them, but this time Alexander ducked and rolled behind Verreti, allowing him time to smash one of the energy beams off the left bracer with the hilt of his sword. But Verreti turned quickly with the other, and swung at Alex, making him retreat to a farther distance.

And it was this distance that gave Verreti an advantage. Pressing a button on his left bracer, a bolt of energy flew out at Alex, catching him in the right arm; forcing him to switch the sword into his left.

Shots poured into the Supermonitor War Goddess, but she kept on going. So far hundreds of hits had been sustained, but the supermonitor's size ensured it's survival. It kept dishing out tons of firepower, and still absorbing tons of it.

The crippled superdreadnaught began it's decent into the planetary atmosphere. Everyone possible had been evacuated, but a few dozen people stayed on, all volunteers, most engineers trying to get the engines back online. The ship was leaning heavily, now almost 50 degrees to port and still rolling.

"SIR! We think we've got Engine number three online! try it!"

The captain of the ship put power to the number three engine.

"She doesn't sound good, but she'll hold! Give her full throtle!"

"Gradualy adding thrust..."

The ship began to shake. At 48% thrust, the engine blew. The ship shuddered violently, and began to go into a steeper dive. the gigaton blast had obliterated engines 2 and4 in adition to itself, and had dmaaged number 5. number 1 had already been blown away. Out of six engines, two remained.

The ship had reached sufficent velocity and altitude to ignite the air around it. Armor plates bagan to peel off.
"Enginerring! out of there! oh, shit...."

The plot indicated that the ship would impact the ground in aproxamatly 25 seconds. Point of impact: A heavily populated city.

"Any way you can stop this ship?"

"No, sir. Only optin would be blowing our magazines, but those were in the bow, which was-"

"Which was blown off when we began this damend decent, I know. Anything else?"

"No, sir. Self Destruct charges have been separated from the rest of the ship. And most of them were on the outer decks, which were vaporized a few seconds ago."

"Are either of the engines operable?"

"Mabee sir, but I-"

both engines powered up. Engine number 6 was barely held on, and the new surge of power ripped it from its housing. Engine number 5 powered up, and began to alter the ship's course. Fuel poured from where number 6 had been, and burst on fire, and started falling on the planet below.

Then the ship slammed into the ground, in the middle of the city. The remaining fuel set up a pitiful explosion, compared to the gigaton explosion of engine number 5.

The only remains of the ship was the engine number 6, which had impacted the ground a few kilometers from the city and was hardely recognisable.

The battle in space raged furiosly. Lighter ships were darting inbetween the near-invunerable large ships, but even those near-invunerable ships were not totaly invunerable. Three supermonitors had been lost, two outright destroyed, and one that had to retreat due to damage. Many otehr superdreadnaughts, monitors, dreadnaughts, battlecruisers, cruisers, light cruisers, and the likes had also been destroyed or rendered useless.

The carriers had gone unscathed, going into cloak and slipping back through the Warp Point after deplotiiing their fighters.

Most of said fighters had been destroyed, but the gunboats were faring better, though they had taken heavy losses.

"All ships! Comence standard targeting procedures immediately!"

The ships stopped concentrating on single targets and began firing upon any possible target.

A single ship emerged from Hyperspace.

However, it was notjust any single ship.

It was a taskforce unto itself.

It was the ISF Devastator. the 20 kilometer long flagship of the nation named after it.

"Bring targeting computers online. Target the Kellermn fleet. Don't fure upon Verettii forces unless they fire upon us."

"Aye, sir!"

The ship began it's attack. P-Beams lanced out from the ship towards the Kellerman fleet, along with hyper-missiles. The missiles went through hyperspace directly from their holds to within a few hundred meters of the target ships. Each missile was packed with antimatter, enough to destroy a small city.

The ship had been exstensively converted in it's century of doing nothing. The three fusion reactors had been replaced with three Warp Taps, which drew another dimension into the material universe, creating massive amounts of power. This enabled the spinal mounted Particle Cannon to be fired very quickly, and it had immense amounts of power. The cannon itself was still in the process of being upgraded, but once it was finished, it would have planet-busting capabilites. But for now, it could destoy almost any ship, which was all that was needed.

"Launch all fighters. Engage any enemy fighters, but if there are none, have them do anti-shipping strikes on the Taledonian fleet."

"Aye, sir."

"Oh, and get me the Verettii forces and their allies on the comm."

"Done."

"Hello, boys. The Calvary has arrived."

Woth that, the fighters launched. 15000 fighters came out of the one ship, swarming around the Kellerman fleet.

Running to the other end of the room, Alex looked around quickly, trying to find something he could use as a weapon. But he didn't have much time as the next assualt from Cornelius Verreti came quick and hard; the flat of the sword smacking into his side and forcing him onto the ground once again.

Getting up quite painfully, Alexander ran far enough away from his enemy and once again started looking for a weapon.

"You can't win boy. My fleet will destroy yours and your allies, and will sweep across the Empire. And I have the Imperial Armor, and the Sword of Taledon; I am the Emperor, bow before me and your pathetic family may be spared." spat Verreti with a tone saying more than his words.

The Chronosians are now your allies, do not seek to offend them. You will aid them in the conquest of Kosse, in order to destroy the keystone of the Republic, Taledonia, as the Republic is the only entity which threatens my existence, at the presence."

He drew breath, as his tortured lungs sought more of the pure, fresh air in his chambers, and continued to speak.
"Whatever the Chronosians have planned, disregard. If they seek to merely subjugate the planet, you will ignore what they are doing, and kill all who reside there. The planet is a cesspool of loyalty to the misbegotten Republic, and you will treat it as such. You will return victorious, or not at all."

He willed the viewscreen to terminate the connection, and it did. He smiled, as he saw the shocked look on the Admiral's face. However, few dared face the Exarch Emperor these days....

Kosse, two minutes later

A fleet slid smoothly out of Truespace, and, impressive as it was, it seemed somehow diminished, as if those within it had no more will to love. OOC: Oh, fair enough. Didn't realise. I wouldn't raze Chronosia's planet now, would I? TO TALEDON! Just disregard my previous post, please.

IC: The fleet easily ripped its way out of TrueSpace, and arrived at Taledon. They were in the midst of a battle, with the Kellerman family fighting against Verreti, and likewise.

The Admiral had decided to aid the Kellermans, as this would gain him precious time, while he maneuvered towards Taledon. From there, he would fire his weaponry, and watch the Republic planet burn...

Greetings, Emperor Alexander. We have arrived to aid you, and will commence destruction of this rabble presently. We hope to clear away the Verreti Fleet immediately.

The Fleet concentrated all fire on the Verreti Fleet, while slowly edging around towards Taledon, making it look inconspicious, while slowly, ever so slowly, moving towards the planet.

OOC: I'll have a malfunction of some kind, and just bomb the hell out of some population centres, then run away. Using an OMGIKILLZURPPL weapon on a homeworld seems unfair, somehow...

The order went throughout the Sonaian ships still left:
"Leave the Verreti, attack their allies, the Stellar Nations or whatever. And recall the fighters, we have lost enough."

As the ISF Devastator arrived, new orders were sent:
"I want that ship taken out! 7th fleet, engage! It must be destroyed! The 5:th and 6:th fleet, keep attacking the allies! Fighters! Engage the newcomers! Show them the skill of a true Sonaian!"

An addition was made by the mysterious Arcani-ship:
"And remember, you fight for the Emperor. You know the punishment for dissapointing him."

They did, of course.

The interlocked hexagon sheilds flared, a few of the sections failing, but most of the sheilds held. The ship escaped major damage, but a few weapons got through. The armor held, but it was blackened where it was hit.

"Alright, they've seen what one ship can do. Bring in the rest of the First Fleet."

And arrive the first fleet did, in a bright flash of enerigies as they exited hyperspace.

The ISF Hellbore, the more fighter-oriented ship of the Devastator type, was the most noticable. Surrounding it were two dozen superdreadnaughts, three dozen dreadnaughts, and a great number of heavy cruisers, destroyers, and other various ships.

"Engage the Kellerman fleet and their allies immedeatly. Find Kellerman himself and capture him, if possible."

six Destroyers broke ff from the fleet and reentered Hyerspace, heading for the Taldon system. They soon found the landed ship, and one descended and landed nearby. it disembarked three squads of men and one tank.

They went to where sensors had picked up the readings of a powered suit in action. The tank was stationed outside, and the men loked through it, untill they saw the battle. They waited, watching, not nterfereing, for it was impossible to help without killing or injuring both of them.

IC:

Solus System

The ISF fleet that had arrived was being occupied by the allies of the Kellermans, and gave a good chance to end this battle. All the ships in the Kellerman fleet shot straight ahead, and fired everything they had at the Verreti fleet, knocking out several of their smaller ships and one of their Battle Cruisers. If they could simply destroy the Verreti, then the battle would be won, no matter if they were later destroyed by the allies of the Verreti.

Taledonian System

The few Verreti ships that were in orbit around Taledonia were immeadiatly destroyed by the Realm ships, for they skeleton crews could not operate them alone.

On the planet, Taledon still burned from the Verreti onslaught, but squads of Kellerman troops had been deployed to find survivors. The shocktroopers stationed outside the cave entrance had seen the approaching ISF troops and took up positions behind rocks and the cliff side; firing at them.

Alexander ran over to his broken sword, and grabbed the broken part of the blade. Hurling it at Verreti, it skined his right cheek, sending blood trickling down his face. Alex then picked up the hilt, which still had a good foot of blade on it.

Cornelius charged him, and swung the mighty blade in rage, but was blocked by the broken blade of Alexander. Kellerman then rolled, getting behind Verreti, and slashed the back of his knee, cutting the tendons and causing Verreti to fall onto his knee.

sIc: Kazecistan's efforts became bolder as they tried to protect the Verreti fleet. In front of each of the Verreti ships, century drones began to form up, under cloak of course.

Ic: Huge sections of shielding appeared in front of each of the Verreti ships. They were not incredibly strong and they only blocked energy, but they would have to suffice. An energy torpedo was about to smash into a Verreti ship when instead, is smashed into one of these shields, weakening it, but not collapsing it. These shields seemed to function in individual sections, but their origin was unknown. If a segment was collapsed, a small explosion took place just behind it.

(OOC: Just to give a little insight as to what it will be like if each family comes to power.

Verreti- Should the Verreti come to power, the Empire will become a totalitarian state. Civil rights and political freedoms will be completely outlawed, and mass murders will occur conducted by the military on the orders of the government. The economy will also switch from capitalism, to socialism. Many alliances with nations like Chronosia and Gaian Ascendancy will come from this; and the ancient religion will be forced upon everybody in the Empire.

Kellerman- If the Kellerman's stay in power, a massive rebuilding will occur to help the Empire revive itself after this holocaust. The civil rights and political freedoms that are currently held by the people will remain, and the economy will stay capitalist. Also, the provinces will be reformed, and the Praetorians and military expanded. He will also repair relations with many nations hurt during this war.)

"INCOMING!"

The word was shouted a moment before impact. The missile slammed into the Goddess, penetrating the sheilds, dive feilds, and hull. A Point Defense laser had glanced it, causing it to become a massive projectile instead of an explosive, ad it came to rest a few inches from the Captain's chair. The air vented from the bridge, and the helmets automaticaly shut to keep in the suit's air. The navigator was not that lucky, and was pulled into space witht he onrushing air, his body still attached to his chair. He was already dead by the time his helmet closed.

"Abandon ship! Abandon ship!"

The survivors fled to the elevator. Inside, they noticed the Captian was not with them. Another shot hit home inside the elevator, causing it to jam. It stopped, and an emergency hatch in the floor opened. They climbed down te emergency ladder to the next deck and opened the doors.

They stared into space. Beyond the door was a meter of halway, and after that was a humongeous hole in the side of the ship. was at least two kilometers deep. A transport craft emerged around the rim of the hole, and turned toards them.

It was not a transport craft, and it also was not freindly. It fired a missile, killing them all.

One man remained on the ship, willingly. He directed the ship ino the remainder of the Taledonian fleet.

And detonated the magaziines, fuel, and engines.

The resulting fireball was over three hundred kilometers across.

On board the superdreadnaught Hellhound, the Code Omega was recived.

Admiral Teren looked around. "I am assuming i have command now... Get me the Fleet."

"Done"

"Stellar Nations Fleet, this is Admeral Teren. I will be in command now. Continue your current tactics."

The blast that resulted from the Stellar Nations ship had destroyed the two fleets; leaving only 1 Imperial Class Battle Cruiser and 1 Typhoon Class Destroyer for the Kellerman fleet, and the command ship(imperial class) for the Verreti.

The temple roof started to collapse as a large beam of light came crushing through. The entire top of the mountain collapsed inwards into the temple, covering both Kellerman and Verreti, and sending large boulders flying towards the remains of Taledon.

The Verreti destroyer hovered overhead before being destroyed by the Kellerman Battle Cruiser. The temple that sat under the rock of the mountain, was now full of that rock, and both men inside were now buried under it.

The Admiral sighed, and pressed the button. The cannon, however, refused to respond. He snarled, and ordered the AI to begin bombing of civilian targets.

He then sent a tightbeam message to the second fleet, recently arrived from the Saurian Rebellion.

Prepare to enter, and attack the Stellar Nations Fleet. The Verretis and the Kellermans have fought a war of extinction, now is the time to rip out the heart of the Republic

Wings of bombers poured out of the ships, each containing bombs sufficient to level a city. Hopefully, the unexpecting Taledonians would not have time to prepare their defense, especially assuming that they thought the Realm was an ally.

"All ships enter the atmosphere, and fire on the seven main population centres. We want an elimination rate of 90%, civilian or military."

Tightbeam message to Chronosian Fleet - If you wish to aid us in the destruction of Taledonia, feel free. We shall burn this puny planet, and rip out the still-beating heart of the Republic

The fleet began entering the atmosphere, dropping fusion, and bio-bombs, over the capital city of Taledon, hoping to eliminate 90% of the civilians...

Emerging from the pile of destruction, the figure stood up and waved off the shocktroopers. Looking out over the flaming city, he saw the Realm ships destroying whatever was left. IC: The ISF fleet jumped to the Taldon system, to find the Hyperspatial Travel fleet preparing to bombard the planet.

"Get me inbetween that ship and the city!"

the devastator jumped once more, and apeared within the atmosphere of the Taldon planet. Thunder rolled as the ship emerged, but more thuunder had already been herad. The ship was to late to intercede between all of the bombs, some had gotten through. But the ship was to see that few got through. Bombs exploded on it's sheilds, keeping them a translucent yellow, the edges of the hexagons clearly visible as white lines. The ship took an insane amount of pounding, but it's sheilds still held.

The rest of the fleet jumped into the HT fleet, and began firing upon the vessels. The fighters laucnhed, over 100000 of them, and began attacking the bombs being sent down into the atmosphere. Several times, a fighter would put itself between the planet and the missile, sacrificing one life to save hundreds.

The Devastator had it's power concentrated upon it's sheidls, and could not use it's weapons. There was too much interfetrence, and not enough power to power energy weapons, and the force of the explosiions would eliminate anything solid trying to be shot.

And with that, the solitary Taledonian ship disappeared in a ray of light; reappearing at Taledonia. Guns blazing, it tried fruitlessly to stop the enemy from destroying the planet. It was mainly energy cannons and turbo lasers being fired, as most of the torpedoes had been used up.

The final rays of sunlight shone off the gold before before going over the horizon. Now all that remained was the 15 shocktroopers, standing around the one figure. The figure adorned in gold.

The black hair flowing in the wind with the red cape. The arms hanging steadily at the sides, the right holding the great sword. The reflection from the fire giving an alure of power.

His nation had been raped, and destroyed. It's famous glory now gone. But the one thing that remained, was hope, and the will to go on. He knew that even tho the war was over, there were still immeadiate threats to deal with; enemies to drive from the territories. Millions of years to honour, and something even more precious to uphold.

It was time for prophecy to be fullfilled; the prophecy of the saviour of Taledonia coming an enacting a golden age anew; it was time for the galaxy to once again know and fear the name....Kellerman

Time was short, and if it was wasted, all would be lost. Running over to the ruins of the Imperial Palace under the guard of the shocktroopers; and with the protection of the armor and sword, Alexander arrived at the doors to the lower levels.

Pushing them open, he ran down the stairs and threw the halls, going ever deeper into the ground. He ran until he came to a room, the room that would hold the future of the Empire. It was a simple room, with several large computers against the walls.

Entering a code, and pressing and pulling levers and buttons, Alexander looked at the screen. It showed the surface. It showed the ground in various spots around the city open up, and the large behemoth cannons come out. The last defense of Taledon, if all else failed.

The 40 energy cannons, able to destroy a small moon with one blast, all powered up and took aim; aim at the sky, more specifically, the Stellar Nations and Realm fleets. With a defening roar, the cannons came to life, and fired each a large blast of energy into the sky. The blasts travelled quickly, almost at the speed of light, and sped towards the enemy fleets.

If they hit, then the Empire would be saved, if not, then they would have only minutes to try again...

"Very well. Taledon shall fall..."

OOC: Bio-weapons aren't diseases. More in the nature of chemicals which eat through flesh, and create more chemicals as they go. Much like a virus, but not.

IC: "Sir, the cannon is charged to an acceptable level. These Taledonian defensive cannons are decimating our fleet, and we don't have another two minutes to wait until a full charge. We can still turn half the planet into a barren wasteland, at least. Please, sir!"

The Admiral stood there, with a rictus of a grin on his face. He haltingly nodded his head, and the cannon fired...

A tiny, pencil-thin beam, ripped its way into the crust, and into the core. It would not cause terminal damage, but certainly sufficient to lay waste to any of the main, attacked cities, and ravage the countryside. The many, many volcanoes and earthquakes which ensued, would not destroy the Taledonians, but certainly rip apart the most of their civilization on this planet.

OOC: Enough to lay waste to your economy, but enough to leave the main population centres partially unharmed, basically the equivalent of nuking these areas in your planet.

The last of the matter was leaving the cannon, when the cruiser, holding still, in order to aim, was ripped apart by a Taledonian Defense cannon, the multiple parts falling to earth, heading directly for the city of Taledon...

The frigates, and the destroyer remaining, each targetted a cannon. The crew had long since fled, and the AI was controlling these ships, now. The cannons, having fired, would be easy prey for the ships... Perhaps, added to the onslaught of lava, which would pour out in under a minute, they would be easy prey, once the second fleet arrived...

The Sub-Vice-Admiral aboard the Wrath of Kharis, which had no engine power, frowned. He was at the mercy of those cannons, and he knew it. With a low supply of missiles, he could take out, at maximum, three of those cannons. He had no engines, and really, he couldn't do anything.

Suddenly, he had a message.

Noting with great pleasure that the cannons had hit their targets, Alexander entered another code, but it was a bit too late.

The Realms cannon fired, and the blast entered the planet and made it's way towards the center. But it was at that moment that the planetary shield was activated. It came from the center, the great blue bubble, rising up towards space to protect the planet from other things; but it was too late to stop the volcanic activity. The 100 or so volcanoes on the planet erupted, and destroyed many things in it's path, but did not do too much damage to the surface; at least nothing that the present technology couldn't repair easily.

The falling Realm ship slammed into the planetary shield, disintegrating instantly. It was now the Empires turn once again. The cannons fired again, the energy signatures being recognized by the planetary shield and being allowed to pass through.

The Imperial Class Battle Cruiser also, which was already heavily damaged from the Solus battle, started engaging the weakened Realm vessels, seing it as an equal match.

Barely one hundred ships (not counting fighters) had survived the battle well enough to do any good in a battle, though some had diminished fighting capabilities, leaving one thousand two hundred ships behind, with damage ranging from extensive hull damage to destroyed engines and another roughly one thousand one hundred completely destroyed, with more to follow.

The ragged fleet began to enter Truespace, except for the Tarkin. The Medical Frigate exploded in a mass of fire, owing to the heavy engines damage.

The ripped bits of metal were lying about the planet, many falling inwards, and just as many waiting to be salvaged, but then.... BOOM!

Each and every bit of metal, with the countless detonaters, exploded, causing as much damage to the nearby Kazeci fleet as would a thousand torpedoes, probably enough to severly damage it, in a last attempt to make a show of defiance to their opponent....

We haveinsufficent power to reach orbit, and even if we could, we have numerous hull breaches, and we would loose men and women we could save. We have emergency landing procedures, but we require a large area to land in."

The ISF troopers that had enetered the temple had taken heavy losses. most had bene killed by the temple collapsing, but a few had survived. They had been trapped in a narrow pocket, the tank holding up a rather large peice of debris giving them space to live in. The tank itself had been mostly crushed, one crew member killed, the other two wounded.

No comms equipment was working, and the two wounded men wouldn't last long.

They heard the sounds of the battle, and the horendus explsions of the bombardment, though they were farther away, sounding like they were impacting in the air rather than the ground. Then the explosions stopped altogether.

They looked around.

"Gerson, you get that thing working yet?"

Gerson, who had a hoby in elecronics that was paying off now, had the parts of the six comm units spread around him. Most had been gutted and were damaged similarly, but there was enough to make one working thing.

"Almost, another few things, and there!"

"Try it."

He activated the jury-rigged contraption.

The torpedoes were mostly taken care of by the MPSing of the various ships, but the debris was another matter entirely. Kazeci energy shielding was designed for directed energy weapons, not random close range explosions. They tore at the outer hull plating and armor. Thankfully for the crews, internal suppression systems prevented the damage from spreading too deep. Although massive amounts of air spewed from the many scars on their hulls, the systems damage was minimal and only 6 crewmembers were injured.

The sqad's uninjured members gathered their dead and took them out of the rubble. They then went back and began making stretchers, out of whatever they could use, their own uniorms and weapons were the most handy items.

A squadron of the ISF fighter force flew over the city, one breaking away in the millenia-old "Missing Man" formation, honoring those dead.

The message came back
Sorry Devastator, but we need what little water we have ready to extinguish Taledon. However, we will send a squad to the lake that is just past a few trees from your position, and they will bring you the water needed.
