::Prime Minister Arnold sits in his office looking over some important documents when an aide runs in::

Aide: Sir!! We've located General Barg!

Arnold: Ah...finally. Take me to him immediately.

Aide: I'm afraid that won't be happening sir....It seems as though he's defected. He wishes to take over sir.

::To this point, Prime Minister Arnold did not raise his head. Hearing of this treachery, he lifted his head to the aide, took off his glasses and looked him straight in the face::

Arnold: How many soldiers defected with him?

Aide: Right now, he's taken approximately 200,000 Dragon Force and 300,000 Wolf and Eagle. This is not good sir.

Arnold: Get General Boden in here right now....it seems we have a coup do deal with.

::The aide runs out and Prime Minister Arnold continues with his paperwork::

Life for my family was bad in this country. They weren't living how I wanted them to. Word had gotten round of a... what is the word... a coup, under General Barg. Life would be better under him, it couldn't get much worse.

When he finally announced his defection, many soldiers stepped forwards to rebel against the government. Soon enough, he has mustered an army capable of such a task.

Me? I was an ordinary foot soldier, marching beside the others. That was then. Now? I fight guerilla warfare, striking in a small cell against targets that could prove deadly to the coup. We carry out assassinations, snipe ranking officers from the greenery. We are like wolfs, hunting in a pack. We have to be stealthy, hide away, sleep rough. We sleep with the hope of a better life.

Coups, rebellions, changes of power, whatever they may be called they are not desired or needed. Robbie U itself came into existence after a massive bloody coup, in which the royalist forces squashed the coup and came out victorious. Since then we seek to destroy rebellions wherever they may crop up. We ask Strength and Virtue to allow us to send in the following soldiers to stop the coup; more can be sent as needed.

500,000 Torians (Elite Robian soldiers)
200,000 Parians (Para-trooper version of Torians)
800,000 Regular infantry soldiers
500 Imperator MBTs
250 Mascar MBTs

::Prime Minister Arnold sits eating a quiet supper and watching Seinfeld reruns when an aide bursts into the room::

Aide: Sir!! We have excellent news!

Arnold: Yes?

Aide: The Nation of Robbie U has sent troops to aide in destroying the rebels!

Arnold: Send the leader of Robbie U a telegram thanking him for such a generous offer but tell him that we must decline.

Aide: Decline?!?!

Arnold: Yes, we must keep this matter internal at the moment.

Aide: Sir, I don't think.......

Arnold: That will be all.

::The aide turns to walk out of the room::

Arnold: And one more thing.

Aide: Yes?

Arnold: Sent Robbie U a fruit basket.....he could be a valuable ally in the future.

Aide: Yes sir.

The soldiers are in high spirits, ready for whatever comes. The situaution seems well under control by our great and valiant leader.

My group, of which I have seemed to take a control of based on my nine or so comrades, has not received any orders yet. I am not sure what is happening but am attempting to find out. Perhaps General Barg is attempting to let Prime Minister Arnold leave the country or resign with no blood loss. Maybe he is waiting to see how things pan out. Maybe he is planning the takeover.

All we can do now is sit and wait. We are fully armed and ready to go, but ten men can do little to dent the enemy. We need somebody to coordinate our attacks. We need a leader who is in contact with his men.

News came in this morning of Robbie U's offer of help. We were quite scared it must be said. The more forces dragged in, the less chance we have of winning this battle. And when the Prime Minister refused the help? Ha! We would have cheered but that would have given our position away. We chuckled away to ourselves. More proof to show this government is no longer worthy of power.

Strength and Virtue Forest.

A rebel soldier runs through the undergrowth at quite some pace, holding his weapon. As he runs, a body comes out from behind a tree. This person obviously was military or trained with the use of a weapon by his stance.

"PUT DOWN YOUR WEAPON! DO IT NOW!" A deep voice, even more commanding with a pistol aimed at your head. A rifle digs into the soldiers neck. The gun drops from his hand to the ground, bouncing up and falling away from him. The soldier in front moves forward and takes the gun, keeping the pistol in the rebels face.

"DROP TO YOUR KNEES, HANDS BEHIND YOUR HEAD! NOW!" This command came from behind. He followed the instructions, and the further ones to lay on his front, before being pounced on, searched and handcuffed.

Captured by the government. He could not let anything slip from his mouth.

He was blindfolded and bundled into a vehicle. A long drive after, he was thrown into a cell, and knocked out.

He awoke with a headache and some water in a dog bowl on the floor next to him. The blindfold lay on the floor beyondd the water.

::Strength and Virtue's daily news broadcast for August 7th, 2005::

Anchor: More devistating news has emerged about the rebellion in our country. General Barg, former head General of our forces and now the rebellion leader has convinced even more soldiers to defect. The new total is approaching 1,000,000 men. Although no battles have taken place yet, Prime Minister Arnold thinks that this matter can be resolved peacefully.

::Cuts to a speech by Prime Minister Arnold::

Arnold: General Barg is a great man with great ideals, but bloodshed is not the way to get these ideals. We have a government that can be molded to shape the ideals of the people, there is no need for revolution. And to all those who hate these rebels, fear not. These are our countrymen, our brothers and sisters in arms. We will not treat them like dogs or traitors, but we will treat them like enemies until this is resolved.

Anchor: Since the defection, 5 very valueable military strongholds and one major port have gone to the rebels. Still, no bloodshed as arisen because of this defection.

Military base south of Strength and Virtue forest

The door banged open, as the captured rebel wriggled on the floor so he could sit up against the wall.

"I cannot tell you anything, what do you want? Who are you? Where are you taking me?" The men said nothing, picked the rebel up as though he were a sack of feathers.

They dragged him out of his cell, and into another room, plain whitewashed walls with 2 chairs and a table. They left him there for 10 minutes.

A man entered.

"You little piece of crap! Stand up! Now!" The rebel stood up, and was knocked to his knees by the hand of the interrogator. "Name, rank and number."

"Billy Weston..." He paused for a while. "I honestly don't know the rest, I do not belong to the military.

"You are a rebel? Heh..."

"I am a normal everyday guy, I have somehow got sucked into this whole mess."

-----------------------------------

The warehouse was cold, dark and damp. I waited in between two storage containers. Soon enough, I heard footsteps on the grey concrete floor. Sounded like more than ten men. I picked up my comms device, and typed in the words "Outnumbered. Hidden. Require assistance."

"Psst... oit!" Responding to the whisper, I turned around and was met by the stern face of a soldier, and another head popped out from behind him. Backup had arrived. "Heard you needed some help?"

"How many men?" My response must have seemed cold, like the surroundings. I fitted in at least.

"Fifty. All armed, awaiting your orders. They know the operation, capture target, eliminate threats."

I waited for what must have been a good minute. I looked at my watch, the clock ticked over to 12.30. Right on time, a car drove into the warehouse. Three men jumped out, their voices were audible.

A Russian sounding voice spoke. "You have the money?"
"Of course."
"Show me." A briefcase unclicked. "Very good". The crackle of a radio was heard. "Bring them in."
"I knewyou could be trusted, unfortunately we cannot."

A small gunfight, sounding pretty one sided occured. Two guns were used at the most. Another vehicle drove in to the warehouse and more gunshots were heard.

"Take the weapons, load them into the car and get out of here."

This was our turn, I shouted at the top of my voice as I ran out from cover, gun blazing "GO! GO! GO!". Many more men swarmed out, and overran the enemy. Two jeeps rolled into the warehouse. With the help of two men, I loaded the ammo, RPGs, grenades and explosives into the vehicles. They reversed out and drove off. We took anything of use from the bodies, torched the cars and left into the undergrowth, each going our seperate ways. The next time I met with my ten man unit would be in a week.

OOC: for future reference, strength and virtue's military structure is set up like this

Military Structure thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=433897)

OOC: This is the structure then, but how much of each area has defected? This would be really handy to know.
Strength and Virtue

OOC: Go ahead and use your own discretion. Just don't say that like, 70% of the rebel forces are dragon force.
Muesilania
07-08-2005, 20:58
OOC: For your info also (a government under attack would know this also), we shall say 50% is eagle, 30% is wolf and the remaining 20% is of dragon (i thought they would be the most loyal troops, however some would feel like a change).

If you would like to make any changes say so, but if not I believe your turn has come for the RP.

::An on the scene reporter reports live on the happenings. Strength and Virtue tanks, men, artillery and other military equipment are being moved in the backround::

Anchor: I'm here about a half mile away from what is believed to be the main rebel stronghold. Newly appointed General Boden is here and wishes to end this peacefully. No exchange of fire has taken place, but it seems as though both forces are walking on eggshells. This could very well be the first major conflict in this revolution.

::A colonel walks into a dark underground bunker to speak with General Barg::

Colonel: Sir!! Strength and Virtue forces have gathered outside Burdett Base!

Barg: It's about time they made the first move.

Colonel: Sir, may I ask you a question?

Barg: Go ahead.

Colonel: Both Arnold and Boden know that they have air, water and even land superiority, why don't they destroy us?

Barg: Because crushing this rebellion would not be wise. Making us martrys could potentially be worse than losing to us. Arnold is a good man, he'll play the fair fight. But Boden is who I'm worried about.

::Barg turns away from the maps and looks the Colonel right in the eye::

Barg: Now lets go defend our base.

::Barg picks up his military sword (looking a lot like a katana), straps it on and follows the Colonel out the door::

We were to be no part of this battle. We sat on the hill far to the east, looking at the action through binoculars and sniper scopes. We didn't know what was happening.

We had been walking to the base under cover, when we walked on top of whatever this was. From what I could gather, it seemed this could either be the start or the end of the coup. If we won we would have the upper hand; if we broke free and got men out to safety we had a chance; if they crushed us without mercy, they would be fools but end this all; and if they captured us all, the end of the coup would come.

I knew the actions and consequences, most soldiers knew the actions and consequences, hopefully both generals knew the actions and consequences.

My tactics as general would have been to escape to the back, leaving some men there to hold up a veil of untruthful defence, but Barg would not do that. No, he would take the fight to them. He would throw everything at them under a barrage of artillery and mortar. He would go down in a fantastic battle to fill the air with smoke in the day and light the sky at night. There was a possibility however, that he realised the urgency of the situation, and how serious this was, and would do something along the lines of how I would do it.

We retreated backwards, out of view but able to see what happened if we so decided.

This was the time we had been waiting for. Something was about to kick off, something big, or something small. Who knew? We all hoped the latter.

::General Boden sits on a distant hill with a pair of binoculars looking around. He sees movement inside the base. Tanks, artillery and soldiers, lots of them::

Boden: (to himself) Damn you Barg, what are you up to?

::Just then, Barg comes out of the base on a white horse and sword in the air. Whispers spread through Strength and Virtue's lines as he does this::

Soldier: General Boden Sir! Snipers are fixed on the rebel leader! Should we fire?

::Boden does not even look the soldier in the eye, he just stares into the binoculars::

Boden: No. Let him have his show, we outnumber them 10 to 1. They aren't going anywhere.

::Barg rides his horse in front of his men and speaks to them. Men on tanks, by artillery, with guns, mortars all stop what they're doing to listen::

Barg: It is time! We are surrounded! Today, let the country know what we're fighting for! Men will die today, just remember that the men we fight are not as much enemies as they brothers lost in broken ideals. Our goal is to attack the right flank and escape around them. Onward! To battle!!

::Boden sees that the rebel forces are moving out and prepares his forces::

Boden: Everyone into position! Under the orders of the Prime Minister we are NOT to fire until they do! I want my Dragon forces up front with Dragon force snipers in position for firing. Behind them I want both Eagle and Wolf forces to fill in. Get the artillery ready! Tanks in position! Prepare for battle!

::The grounds are set. I almost seems like the knights of olden times. Strength and Virtue will change on this day::

A white horse, oh please? Outdated military tactics there a bit. Or was this publicity. He would re-enter the base and exit in a super tank! Ha!

We took up positions on the hill. We would take part, we aimed our snipers at key points in the enemy line. We would re-aim if our attack took place aimed in one area. Make it a bit easier for our guys.

I knew he would do an all out attack. I sent a message to the base, saying "Hill to the east. 10 snipers. You committing suicide? This is deadly. Request plan details."

::Artillery shells start blasting the right flank of the Strength and Virtue forces::

Boden: Damn! Send reinforcements to that side! An attack is coming, I know it! Send returning fire! Send tanks!

:: Strength and Virtue's forces man the artillery guns and start to bombard the exiting rebel forces. The beginning of an all out battle has begun::

Boden: (to himself) Barg! What are you up to!

::In another warehouse, arms dealers attempt to trade weapons with a high ranked officer in Strength and Virtue's Army::

Trader: Is it safe?!?! The last time we tried to deal my men were killed and I barely made it out alive!

Officer: It's safe.

Trader: You're silly Prime Minister knows nothing of this trade does he?

Officer: Not a thing. I speak for a higher power. Now show me the weapons.

Trader: These are new models. We've tested them and they work perfectly.

::The trader opens a large shipping crate with a crowbar to unveil a strange looking bazooka::

Officer: This is it?!?! I asked for missiles too you stupid terrorist!

Trader: I can't get you those right now! Arnold is shutting down the borders to ensure no outside interference!

Officer: My boss will be very displeased. You better not come back into this country until you have the rest of the warheads!

Trader: Yes sir! Now to use these weapons, you must first be atleast 2 miles away from the target.

Officer: I know how to use it! Get out of here!

::The warhead trader leaves with a briefcase::

Officer: Now get these things to General Boden! And keep it quiet, the Prime Minister must not hear of this!

Barg, you arrogant old fool! Are you trying to get yourself killed? This is the end.

We took aim at the key points along the line and waited a little while. I was aiming at an anti-tank soldier. I whispered loud enough for all ten to hear "fire" and ten shots were volleyed off to their intended targets. The RPG fell to the ground from the mans shoulders as he fell.

We re-aimed, this time I was aiming for a ranking officer. "Fire." Ten more shots were volleyed off but this time I was only able to inflict a flesh wound. He lay wounded, as a stretcher carried him off to the MASH (OOC: Mobile Army Surgical Hospital).

"Fire". My shot missed the fuel tanks. Any soldier knows that firing a normal round at a fuel barrell will not make it explode. It would simply make a hole in it at the most (OOC: A myth of Hollywood, and a flaw in so many films. A bullet which explodes after entry would blow the fuel up for example). "Fire. I tried again and hit the bottom. Fuel started leaking out. This served two purposes in my mind. It was wasting their fuel reserves and also (I wished however this didn't happen)if the vehicle exploded next the fuel, the fuel would ignite and have the effect of burning anyone with fuel on them. I realised this too late. I didn't want to kill all of these men.

I heard a twig snap behind me, and without hesitation pulled my pistol from its harness, rolled over, and took aim at a person. As they emerged from the shadows, I shot. A scout party, where were the others?

"We have to leave guys." The men went into a crouch and left the hill. I dragged the body into a bush and left him there. "Be vigilant".

As we left the sounds of artillery were everywhere.

::A soldier comes up to Boden in the middle of the battle::

Soldier: Sir! Colonel Jerrico wants me to inform you that he could surround the rebel forces if we collapse the left flank onto them.

::Boden, with his binoculars in hand, does not move his sight away from General Barg, now leading his forces (on horseback) into the right flank of Strength and Virtue's line::

Boden: Damnit soldier! Tell Jerrico that I'll make the calls around here! Tell him to hold his position! I don't want these rebels dead yet!

Soldier: But sir! They might get away...................

::Boden unholsters his pistol and shoots the ground right in front of the soldier, the soldier jumps back::

Boden: That will be all soldier!

::The right flank is weakening, the rebels are almost through. Why isn't Boden destroying the rebels? It would be so easy::

We continued are sweeping movements out of the forest. Every twenty minutes we stopped to take a good look around. When it was safe we left our hideout and moved on.

Soon enough we were out of the forest.

"Two men step forward." Two young men in my group stepped forward quickly. "Create a diversion for a car along the road, we will attack and steal the car. You take the people down and leave them by the roadside. Do not kill them." The two men nodded and moved towards the roadside.

We needed two cars, or a vehicle that could hold ten men would be great. A van would be excellent.

A vehicle screeched to a hault, voices could be heard. We approached the white van. I swung the door open and dragged the passenger out of the vehicle, the same was done the the driver of the vehicle.

"Tie them up, out of harms way by the roadside. They'll be found there."

I ran round and climbed into the drivers seat of the van. My second man sat next to me. The rear door opened and the remaining eight climbed in and took up places in the back.

"Everybody here?"
"Sir!" Somebody answered, I did a quick head count to make sure.
"Lets roll."

I pulled away from the scene, driving east towards a derelict house we could use as an HQ. We would stop here and make sure we were ready to fight, then move on to the Rebel base further east.

Who knew if we were still alive to fight?

::The battle was about to end. The rebels, sustaining heavy damage still made it through::

Jerrico: General Boden Sir! The rebels have made it around! Should we follow?

::Boden sets his binoculars aside his binoculars::

Boden: Not yet. Get a damage report.

Jerrico: Uhhh, yes sir!

::The last soldier to leave was General Barg, still on his horse::

Boden: You damn fool! When we meet again, I won't allow you to escape.

::Two large trucks pull up to the main Strength and Virtue Base located just out side Norka, Strength and Virtue's capital city::

Driver: I have a delivery here for General Boden.

Guard: Go ahead and drop them off inside, we'll let Boden know of their arrival.

(Damage report is as follows. Strength and Virtue: Killed, 300. Injured, 1000 out of 100,000. Rebels: Killed, 700. Injured, 2100. Captured, 500 out of 20,000.)

The van drove through the roads, staying under a civilian disguise, driving safely, but with haste.

The long drive to the rebel base was draining. The men sang tunes in the back and talked about women and how they would live after the rebellion. Spirits were high.

The men were ready for the conflict ahead, weapons loaded, knives sharpened, faces painted, ammo checked.

Sterngth and Virtue wouldn't know what hit them.

OCC: Sorry, I haven't been able to get online due to computer problems.

::In the rebel base a few miles to the east from the battlefield, Barg, with some fellow officers plan their next move. A young and very green soldier stands guard down the hall. All is quiet, almost too quiet::

Walkie Talkie: All clear out front over. All clear in back over.

::The soldier picks up his walkie talkie::

Soldier: All clear in here over.

::A while passes and the soldier decides that all is clear. He can take a piss, nothing is happening::

Walkie Talkie: We're recieving sniper fire from the front! Where are they?!?! We're taking fire from the rear! Who's shooting?!?! What's going on!?!? AHhh!

::The soldier is in the bathroom when his walkie talkie goes dead. He pulls up his pants and looks out the door. Rebel soldiers in large numbers are heading down the hall toward the front entrance::

Soldier: What's going on?

Officer: Get your pants up boy, we're being attacked by a large force, 50, 60, maybe 100,000 men. This could be it.

::The soldier hurries to pull his pants on when something strange happens::

Officer: They're inside! Damnit! We're fucked!

::The soldier looks while he sees all his fellow soldiers being slaughtered. These were not conventional soldiers, these may not even be Strength and Virtue forces. Armed with a pistol and a katana, these ninja type forces are tearing through the rebels and sustaining few deaths. Barg and the other officers hear the skirmish and bolt out of their room to look upon the carnage::

Barg: Damn you Arnold!!! Not Shadow Ops! You bastard!

Soldier: (to himself) Shadow Ops?

::Barg, seeing his death right before him takes out his battle sword and starts to battle these indestructable soldiers. Barg is amazing!! He's taking these guys out left and right!::

Soldier: Go Barg!!

::An enemy spots the soldiers and quickly takes him out. Barg, still battling finally makes one bad move and is sworded down in an instant. The ninja type soldiers then scurry out leaving behind a nearly destroyed rebel force::

OCC: I'm going somewhere with this, so if you could please just go along with it for now, it'll all be explained. Thanks.

A van pulled up along the roadside, one man dressed in normal clothes stepped out and walked ten metres away. He surveyed the land.

He reached deep into his trouser pocket and removed a packet of Gaulloises. Lighting one up he went and leaned up against the side of the van, smoking and contemplating life. War had done much to his country, and he could not see why it was so necessary.

He threw the Gaulloise to the ground and stamped it out.

"Don't think about moving." A man was to his right with a rifle, aimed at the mans head. "Get down on your front, hands behind your head." He was searched by the man. The rifle pointed straight into his temple, penetrating like a dagger would.

The pain, though not physical, was unbearable. Many tomes would be filled if silence could be written. Time stood still in its place, each millisecond worth a thousand years.

The gun recoiled, a spray of red liquid came out of the head of the victim. The killer rolled the body over, revealing his face. Barg lay there dead.

Johnson awoke, sat up straight in his bed breathing heavily. He fell backwards, his hands on his face. He sighed, laying there almost motionless.
