New FT Rp'er looking for alliance and guidance

Hi, I've just decided to can MT RPing, and stop pretending I'm PMT and go full-blown FT. In doing so, I am effectively a n00b at FT rping; that is, I know none of the terminology.
For example, I've seen this crazy talk of FTL drives, LOWs and so on, but have no clue what it means. Also, ther appears to be several groups of nations involved in Warhammer 40K only rping and such, and I wonder if ther are any other things like this. Also, I have no clue what divisions of time (if any) there are in FT. Like, just getting into space, all the way up to having the most advanced tech, or if we're all in one big boat, and also have no idea who is big and what is big in FT NS, or what good alliances exist.

HELP ME! (Please)

FTL drives stands for Faster-Than-Light, which is usually how starships will traverse the tremendous ammounts of space between stars. Hope that helps a little.

I don't RP in Wh40K only; but I RP based on Wh40k. My nation is based upon Chaos and the Chaos Space Marines, and so I find myself embroiled in a lot of WH40K Rp, including a history of how the original Imperium of Man fell in the NS timeline.

I also run an FT Alliance; the Lords of Chaos.

I'm a little curious, I've seen some of the Warhammer 40K stuff before, and even have the game Dawn of War, but have never completely understood the timeline. Is Warhammer 40K set in the distant future, or just some alternate future or future of a fantasy world?

And I'm in it...lol.

FTL = Faster Than Light, A must if you want to leave your home system and interact with others.

There are big nations and little ones in FT, one can usually tell about how big by the post count, the bigger the more you should fear them, or seek an alliance.

As far as I Know, there are no divisions of time, someone just developing FTL may interact with someone far more advanced, the two civilizations just started at different times.

There are many kind and knowledgeable people who are willing to help you and you need but ask for assistance, privately or publicly, to receive it. You could even TG me with more questions if you so pleased, and I would do my best to answer them or find someone who can.

I must admit, being a scifi junky, I'm severely tempted to do some FT RPing as well, but my nation is already heavily involved in another region which is MT. Oh well.

Well that explains FTL...And I just might take you up on that offer, Kazecistan.

Also, doesn anyone know of any good or large alliances?
Or anything of the sort?

Especially ones where their tech might be similar to mine...(pssst Check my Siggy)

Do these alliances have websites or certain threads that I could see?
Thanks, btw.

The Republic is my Region and I Highly recomend it for any 'good side' FT player. There is however, an admissions prosess which all aplicants must go through (I have a feeling you would pass) If you would like to apply, Please contact either me or Taledonia via TG.

The Republic's page is:
http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/87648/page=display_region

And it's forums:
http://s10.invisionfree.com/Republic_Forum/index.php?

I'm the founder of the UEA -- United Emperies Alliance, but it's a regional alliance between the United Emperies and the Holy Lands of Random Militants so you'd have to join one of our regions to join it. I'm also a member of the Alliance of Naggeroth as is the entirety of the United Emperies and then I am individually a member of the Galactic Empire.

Or just by the date of joining.

Anyway, major alliances around are:

ESUS (http://www.esusalliance.co.uk) (member)

The Galatic Empire (ex member)

The AoN (founding member, then left, then went to war with (1st Gronde/CorpSac war), then signed a peace treaty, then went to war with (2nd Gronde/CorpSac war), then peace, war again (AoN and members of the ESUS but then it stoped, i think the AoN or a member of delceared war on the ESUS)

Ones ive not heard of or forgot (and maby a member) or died or not as powerful are:

the Lords of Chaos (didnt know about, might be a member or even a founder i cant remember...most like none but meh i like to sound important)

Federation of Planets (died, co Founding member i think...or just a member but i know one of the Alliances that TFU started i was a Co founding member)

The GDA (one of my nations joined, a puppet of mine, the Terran system Alliance).

Major RPs that are going on well.....em...er....the only ones i know of is the Fallen war but thats just started (and has back history and invite only).

Lords of Chaos are basically a ressurected CCA Corp; your welcome to retake a position on the council, should you wish it :)

Your application has been taken to the senate, chances are that you'll get in, but it may take a while due to the senate's lack of efficiency (for now anyway), so try to be patient. We're glad to have ya!
