OOC: I've been thinking since no one has yet decided to post permanent rules for the Intergalactic Universe why not have every FT nation elect a representative to got the Intergalactic Senate. There we will vote on laws and other things. Anyone member can make a proposal but it will need 3 acceptions or votes to become a resolution. Then the Senate all votes on the resolution. If passed it instantly becomes a law. Now of course only countries in the Senate will have to follow the laws but hopefully many FT nations will join. The headquarters and everything will be on a planet in a distant Galaxy surounded by military posts and checkpoints. There will be no Senate Majority Leader or Senate Speaker. Whoever starts a proposal that is eventually passed as a law shall be the one to announce it. The Senate will have no political power over any nation or planet. The only thing the Senate will do that will influence a nation is the laws it passes. I think this is a great idea because there really is no law. Once I fell that enough people have joined I will start the thread."

I want to say create an offsite forum, but then that might take away from any roleplay here. I like the set up you have here, no leader: people introduce their own legislation, several needed to second it before it can be voted on. I say you've got a good system here.

"No offsite forum because one that gets annoying. Two unneeded as this allows you to see the new law that has been passed and do any RP's your in without opening multiple windows. And 3 if it stays on NS people will see it and be pusuaded to join. No offsite forum. And also I will open a thread for all the laws that have been passed after it's up for awhile. Also no political party aspects come into play. No democrat reps side with the others just because they are the same. The Gaian Ascendancy would be very much interested in a forum such as this one, as it already conforms to plans we were adopting, interrupted all to often by conflicts and such.

The Republic is an alliance, not just my nation. We have created a set of laws that all nations must follow. It's basically what your doing, but we're organized and all reside in the same region.

It would be better recieved if it was a place parties can come to face their peers for events that take place in the Greater Cosmos. The passing of laws for all sides would be tricky considering the 'ego' nature of those that will say: 'we concern ourselves with internal matters first.' In so confronting, the nations that pass laws unto other peer nations in this endeavor, would have to take into account thise one thing.

If the nations respect each other here, then it may all work out. If not, then guess what.

Respect for this forum must be made from the start, not neseccarily create laws. And you 'all' know what will happen when a nation does something the others don't like, and in so doing, a member leaves and all that.

The challenges will become vast on this kind of scale, moreover if we actually limit the scope of this endeavor.

I'll join. It sounds like a much better idea than my statutes of Interstellar law. That way we can put a reign on certain conflicts.

The Federation of the Planet Ihrentan is very interested in this Intergalactic Senate, if only for the purpose of establishing mutually beneficial economic interests.

I think that if anyone is currently a member of any organization, they should ask the (FT) members to join such an orgainzation. Someone should start this soon.

I think that you should have premanent members, like the UN. You could have Zactarn Prime (since he founded it), the Gaian Ascendency since they are probably the most powerful one here, and if they decide to join, Neo Zeta.

I have problems with the idea of permanent members or a Security Council like the UN. The Idea of the P5 (Permanent 5) was that since they were the winners of WW2 they were able to better protect the world. There is no one like that right now, at best there are many defense pacts and warring factions. To do that we would need to pick someone from every alliance, every faction. They would have to all be a certain strength to balance everything out. And all would want veto power, which means nothing would ever happen.

The only position beside being a Senate member there should be is an Administrator. Their job would be to start and end formal discussion and votes and make/edit the list of laws. The don't get veto power or anything, they are just to make everything run more smoothly. I think that Zactarn Prime should be the first Administrator since he thought the Intergalactic Senate up, and then we could vote on the rest once he decides to step down. Also, we should have the ability to vote a person out if they don't do their job. Maybe 3/4ths of the members would be a good amount.

Neo Zeta had decided to Join. A agrement with Yevon was reached in whitch we will work togather with them on any decsions we come to.

Laskon certainly wouldn't mind joining such a venture, as its forces can become quite thin spread when dealing with outlaws and having to patrol hyperspace routes.

I supose that MT and PMT could join in, but you would need a way to get off the planet and meet with the Senate (FTL travel) or have FTL communications to send messages. It is supposed to be an Intergalactic Senate, although that shouldn't bar PMT/MT right away I guess.

Alright ppl will have to send their reps to the place and we have to bar mt but not pmt. Mt have no way of getting here. Pmt have certain ship they can use and they normally double as Ft as well.

Yarr, my nation uses FT ships and has colonies, but in my primary nation, we don't use lots of advanced technology.
