Korridan Seeks Nuclear Power Plant

Korridan

The nation of Korridan seeks to contract the construction of 1 Nuclear Power Plant to provide electricity and power to the People of New Siberia. As is now, we have not discovered any coal or oil reserve on our territory, and so we are forced to purchase one of these. The first thing we are looking for, Is SAFETY, if you cannot assure the consistance and safety of the power plant, then there is no need to even make an offer.

E.ON Bayern offers a deal to set up one pressurized-water 1,400 MW reactor with a natural-draught wet cooling tower. The design is the same as the Isar-2 nuclear power plant in the Essenbach area of Lower Bavaria in The Great Sixth Reich (http://www.eon-kernkraft.com/frameset_english/nuclear-power-plant_eng/npp_locations_eng/npp_kkisar2_eng/npp_kkisar2_eng.jsp).

OOC: This will be completely useless if you can't fuel the nuclear reactions, and it sounds like your nation is pretty much devoid of natural resources.

The Allied States of the Lone Alliance will provide Uranium for energy production, the only condition is that we can build an on site Depleted Uranium processing factory. (Uses the depleted Urainum to make things like
A-10 bullets and Rail gun ammo) You will get half of whatever we produce in the factory for free.

Notice: we are glad that your nation was able to settle in at your new location.

We'll set you up with a great Uranium trade program. If you do something for us. How is opening up your citizenship to recruitment to be Soldiers for Hire for our state owned Tactical Solutions Inc?

If you allow our state owned mercenary group (don't think too hard), Combatant Operations inc., to set up a branch in your nation we'll assist other nations in building and fueling a nuclear program.

OOC: Technically Nation States is, but whatever floats your boat.
IC:
Instead of building a reactor that can be potentially dangerous,. why not import your electricity from other nations?

(Korridan does have a large-scale uranium mine, got it in one of the issues, and razed the forests for it :D ))

Korridan will not allow foreign military bases on our hard fought soil

I would be happy to construct a plant that uses RBMK-1000 reactors.
High-pressure water cooling system x1 (hydrogen oxide)
115 Kg of uranium in fuel assemblies that each contain 18, 13.6mm diameter rods of Uranium.
Graphite moderator

We will construct this plant in return for favourable trading laws and land for military bases.

My offer isn't a military base, by the way. It's a civilian security group that will build a 6 floor high office building with room for a few helicopters on top and an underground parking garage.

The main reason ComOp's wants this here is to provide some forward presence for the nuclear plant. The Corporation is prepared to pay up to 1 billion to help in construction and future worker payment plans in return for this office building.

This deal isn't one designed to stop the plans of other nations, we are not looking to build the plant ourselves. We just want to be in on the project.

"As an ally of your nation, Carthago Deuce recomends you look into less volitial energy sources. Being located in the South Atlantic as you are you should have the option of constructing dynamos which are powered by the large ocean swells in and around your costal areas. This would provide your people with a constant, steady supply of electrical power at almost no cost, and with out any wast products. Please consider our suggestion."

Hmmm, tell me more of these "Dynamos", I have never heard of them before

A dynamo is merely an electrical generator that produces alternating current. What we are suggesting is that your nation use the large waves around your costal areas to turn them.
You have the dynamo constructed on a large float and anchored to the sea floor (like a buoy), and action of the waves pushing them up pulls on their ground tackle, providing the mechanical energy for the dynamo to work. It can be likened to pulling on the chord of a lawnmower.

(OOC- I have heard that Holland is actually considering using a system similar to this one. Also, I suppose a lawnmower isn't the best thing to liken this too. . . but I can't really think of anything else.)

Hmmm, the proposal is an interesting concept, however I question how reliable it will be, and in war time the entire system could be easily brought down.

It wouldn't be any more easy to hit than a dam or nuclear reactor.

If your military was broken down to the point that they could hit that they'd be able to hit any other source of power too.

"While the system might, at first glance, appear very fragile the individual units can be quite robust. Though a large percentage of them may be destroyed in a military attack, the attacking force is not likely to get all of them and would have to devote considerable resources to this task. Consider the fact that this system is spread through out your costal areas, with hundreds or thousands of units and substations, instead of having a single reactor facility that could be destroyed with a single air-strike (this could also pose a threat to your people, as there is the potential for melt down in this event, or a somewhat more minor release of radioactive materials). Another advantage of this system is you would be able to construct and maintain it without relying on a foreign country.
As for your concerns about the reliability of this system, you have only to go and stand upon your own shores. Has there ever been a day without waves?"

Hmmm, would these structures be buoyant enought to support most anti-aircraft and naval batteries? If they would have enougth force for that, then they could play a key role in the countries defence as well, and provided the plans for such structures we would be glad to install them rather then resort to nuclear power.

"I suppose you would be able to mout surface to air, and anti-shiping missiles on similar platforms, RADAR or passive SONAR also. If a CIWS is what you were looking for, I would recomend something along the lines of a MetalStorm system. Though the maintance of any sites mounting weapons would probably be more costly than it is worth at present."

There is a useful idea, but to limit costs how about waiting awhile before equipping them with any sort of device or weaponary. But we think that a Wave powered Generator would be very useful for your nation.

"We are prepared to provide you with plans for several models of wave powered dynamos, and several Company sized groups of our Civilian Engineering Corp. personnel to assist in the construction and placement of said dynamos."

Five Companies (2000) of Carthaginian Civilian Engineering Corp. personel are enroute, with plans. They will supervise the construction and planting of the dynamos, the laying of power cable along the sea bed, and the construction of power sub-stations and control centers which will be connecting your wave genorators to your power grid.
