Citing the need for "multiple revenue streams," the Corporation enacted an ordinance, dubbed the "Try Your Luck" Initiative, allowing for open gambling on its lands today.

The move is accompanied by the announcement that a USD$150,000,000 gambling casino and resort complex will be built near Palembang, to be finished in six months, to accomidate tourists. In addition, a company lottery with prizes of USD$1,000, 2,000, and 5,000 increments has been commissioned.

In addition, the ordinance allows for the installation of pachinko and American-style slot machines in most places, though the jackpots are limited to USD$350 per run.

To compensate for any negative aftereffects, a portion of lottery and gaming proceeds from all casinos, domestic and foreign, will be used to fund programs designed for rehabilitating problem gamblers and educating the public on gambling in moderation.

The bill also allows foreign investors to come in and construct casinos as well, though they must obey the Renting Laws and all other ordinances.

Foundations have been broken for the resort, to be dubbed "Bluewater Hotel And Casino Resort." This includes the hotel itself, the main casino and shopping complex, and all amenities necessary, including electricity and water. Due to the present power situation, solar, wind, and diesel generators will be installed to compensate for any power loss from the main grid.

In the meantime, the lottery tickets have been printed up, and the game has been declared open. Already, sales in all settler and some local communities have skyrocketed, with tickets costing between US$1-US$5. Some communities have opened pachinko halls, and these are reporting record sales.

However, opposition from the Muslim religious community has arisen, which has decried the games as "immoral." Nonetheless, the games are moving forward, as we speak.
