Citing larger than expected recoil in the KF9, and slightly increased weight over the AK-104, the KF10, a parallel project that created the KF9 was adopted as the replacement rifle. The KF10 was designed around a similar premise as the KF9, to handle today's heavily armoured threats while staying light, accurate, and easy enough to handle. The KF9 didn't truly live up to that and with the culmination of the KF10 project, the KF9 will be removed from service and replaced. The KF10 uses the slightly larger 7.92*57 "Mauser" round with caseless ammuntion and a new propellant developed to keep its speed comparable to that of the AK-104. The result is 500 J increase in energy released helping to defeat heavier body armour and provide more stopping power. There are multiple versions, from the crowd control "rubber" bullets with low velocity, the normal infantry rounds, "Shredder rounds" which break apart and tear into the enemy, and THV rounds which obtain extremely high speeds and have significant stopping power over range. Made mostly of plastic composites, its unusually strong and lightweight.

It has an integrated 1.5x red-dot sight, mounted on a new, native rail, the "Nikolai Rail" use previously on the KF9. The current combat knife can be attached as a bayonet via a special clip. However, clip must be removed to accept a rail mounted 20mm grenade launcher.

There are many variants including Basic infantry configuration, Commando which is lighter, and shorter, Light Machine Gun, with a longer barrel, either a a 75 rd drum magazine or a cavernous 150 double drum magazine and a folded bipod, or Parasniper with a longer barrel, silencer, banana-clipped magazine, and a new 1.5-3.5-5.0x scope.

The KF9 rifle will now be on sale via the Leafanistani Storefront.
