Somewhere just outside of Peopleita’s national airspace, a turbojet aircraft throttled back its twin Rolls Royce engines and began a descent towards the main airport of Guervara, the capital city of Peopleita.

Onboard the aircraft, Eric von Friedrich was reading through some papers that gave some general information on the country and the Commandante he was flying to meet.

He was pleasantly satisfied with the track record of the Commandante; overthrowing a fascist government using a guerrilla force was practically exactly the problem that he himself had to overcome. The only slight concern he had was that Peopleita had done this in a jungle environment; Englemar was primarily made up of grassland outside the cities. There were forests, yes, and mountains, but they were nowhere near the cities that obviously had to be taken in the case of a Revolution.

Eric von Friedrich was a born and bred Communist. Brought up in the Working Class, his father had been a labourer in one of the coalmines of Englemar before they were closed down due to ‘unprofitable circumstances’. von Friedrich sneered at the phrase.

Eric himself had grown up fiercely involved in Politics, and had joined the ECP when he was 17. Back then; the Communists hadn’t had a hope in hell’s chance of being voted for due to its militant views. Eric and the ‘new generation’ as they had been called quickly went about streamlining the parties’ activities and making them more appealing to the public eye, focusing more on explanations and debate than on demonstrations that had been used before.

And now they had a position in the Parliament. Eric would have been happy with that if the Conservatives had won, or even better, the Freedom Party. But the idea of the Englemar National Front having the government position horrified and sickened him to the core. He had long hated Fascism of this kind and its emphasis on privatisation and profit at the expense of the people, but the ENF scared him more due to its historically National Socialist stance on minority groups and opposition parties. The Conservative Democrats were not worried – that fool Sutton thinks he can control Peterson, Eric thought disbelievingly – and the Freedom Party had made a lot of noise but weren’t prepared to do anything outside the law. And that was why he was coming to this meeting.

He glanced out the window as the plane descended over Peopleita airspace. The pilot at the front of the aircraft switched on the Intercom as he requested landing clearance, and the landing gear clunked into position. von Friedrich sighed, picking up his papers. This was going to be interesting…

As the plane landed, they were met by a Peopleitan Englemar diplomat.

"Hello, welcome to Peopleita, Mr. von Friedrich. The Commandante has invited you to dinner in his residence." He smiled and led him to a car waiting nearby.

von Friedrich shook the diplomat's hand and followed him to the waiting vehicle. Taking a momentary glance around at the surrounding terrain, he climbed into the back of the car and closed the door, shutting out the noise of the road and the airport.

He leant back in the chair and glanced out of the window of the vehicle. Truth be told, this was the first time that he had ever been outside of the borders of Englemar, and he was considerably interested in the nation itself as well as the negotiations. Not that he had a lot of time to work with; von Friedrich wouldn't be at all surprised if he got back to Englemar and discovered the ENF had somehow managed to wrangle the Foreign Office into cancelling his Passport.

"So, tell me about your nation," he said, turning to the diplomat in a bid to make polite conversation as they journeyed towards the Commandante's residence.

"Well," the diplomat laughed, noticeing Mr.Von Froiedrich's amazement at their surrondings, "It wasn't always as nice as this. I trust you are aware of the government that was here before the PSP? They had mines everywhere. Thet wern't far off slave labour. There was never any social warefare, so either you went down and had a 1/4 chance of being kileed, or you died of starvation. Only the people who had large inheritance could avoid the mines. There were numerous failed rebellions until the succesful one led by the Commandante. Ah we are arriveing."

The car pulled up at a normal sized home. This house was not a palace, but what the average Peopleitan lived in. The diplomat knoccked on the door. It was answered by the Commandante himself.

"Hola Fidel! Como estas?" he asked the diplomat.
"Bueno Che. Y tu?" the diplomat replied.
"Muy Bueno!" the Commandante laughed. "And this must be Mr. Von Friedrich? How are you comrade, it is nice to finaly meet you." He stuck out his hand, to implicate a handshake.

von Friedrich took the Commandante's hand and shook it enthusiastically. He had been reading about the man's exploits as a Guerilla leader during the war against the Fascists and had come to respect him and his accomplishments. The country they stood in was a good example of this; from what his envoy had told him, Peopleita was doing much better under the new administration.

He was also surprised by the Commandante's residence. Englemar had considerable luxury in it's government residences and the Parliament itself, Politicians being able to sample such luxuries in their public life. This was a refreshing change.

"A pleasure to meet you, Commandante," von Friedrich grinned earnestly. "But as the friends I hope we will be, you can call me Eric. I hope we can come to an arrangement regarding the unfortunate election results of my country."

"In that case you can call me Che." he grinned. "Yes Englemar is an unfortunate situation. We will discuss it over dinner. My wife is still cooking. Come let me show you the house. Fidel could you go see if Maria needs a hand?"

"Yes Che" the diplomat replied.
"Thank you" After a quick tour of the house and introduction to the Commandantes children, they sat down for dinner.
"Now then Eric, could you please describe the situation in Englemar, and wheather or not we are already targets on the newly elected facisist governments military agenda?"

Eric settled himself at the table and listened to the Commandante's question. He cleared his throat momentarily and licked his lips in thought before beginning to talk.

"Well, at the moment, there doesn't seem to be many targets on the military agenda," he began, thinking over his notes on the plane trip. "The Englemar military isn't in a positive place at the moment." He caught Che's eye. "Several of our Navy ships are leftover Destroyers from World War 2. The rest are pretty modern vessels, but they're all concerned with home defence of the Englemar Island, so foreign attacks are not on the Agenda yet."

He clasped his hands together. "Basically Che, Peopleita is safe at the moment. The ENF has neither the military or political force to start a war...yet." He added the last word with emphasis. "They'll have to take care of the Conservative Democrats that are their coalition partner, which I can assure you they will when given the oppurtunity." Or if they don't make one themselves, Eric thought concernedly.

"They ENF have to put their own house into order first." He cleared his throat. "Right now, I myself am primarily concerned with the wellbeing of the Englemar populace. The government plans to create several private Supercorporations that will ensure employment, but at near-slavery conditions. I'm also concerned about what the ENF will do with certain minority groups if given the chance."

von Friedrich leant forward on the chair and set his mouth grimly. "That's why we have to stop them now. The money that was donated to the party will be part of that, and I thankyou for that donation." He nooded in thanks to the Commandante.

"Do you have troops preapared? We can train them in Guerilla warfare, or send some of our own troops, the Guerrlia infantry branch? It seems to me that it won't be long before the ENF are attacking us, or our Marxist allies. It seems that if we were to place a blockade on the navy, no help from other nations could arrive. However Englemars Facsist allies, such as Red Tide or New Sans, could use this as an oppurtunity to decalre war on Peopleita. So we feel that if an infantry attack on Air Bases to cripple their air defences, and then a blockade if any naval re-enfocements can arrive, the facisits will have to depend on their infantry. How advanced are they?"

Eric listened to all this carefully before replying.

"Well, the ENF has put an Act before Parliament which will legalise the owning of weapons by Englemar Citizens as part of their 'self defence' pledge during the election. This'll allow regular citizens to carry anything up to Assault Rifle status." Eric grinned. "Ironically, it'll be their downfall."

"The ECP has 70,000 members in Englemar, two-thirds of which have indicated to the Leadership that they are prepared to bring about a revolution. Using this Act after it has passed Parliament, we intend to use the money you donated to purchase weapons and form a Paramilitary Organisation." von Friedrich smiled. "This is where you could come in with training them for Guerilla warfare."

"The Englemar Infantry isn't incredibly advanced." Eric paused as he recalled his notes once more. "Primarily, they are armed mostly with AK-47s, although there are a few AK-101 LMGs and RPG-7s in each squad to ensure versatility. The ECP Paramilitary would outnumber them in size, as the Englemar Army only has 30,000 Infantry soldiers. Our main concern is the several hundred peices of Armour and Artillery that the Englemar Army maintains."

Eric thought again. "If a Naval blockade could be arranged, the ECP Paramilitary could organise an attack on Airbases in Englemar. If we can hold those positions against counterattack, then there is a chance we can use our numbers to then move forward and hit the Capital."

"We can provide your army with armour and artillery. We strongly recommend that build support for reveloution among the masses. In the case of the Peopleitan reveloution, the common hatred of the government was one of the main factors in our success. Spread propaganda around. You can not be victorious without winning the masses support, especially if they carry weapons."

Eric nods.

"Yes, part of our strategy is to get greater support among the populace, and we will be implementing steps to this end."

He hesitated. "As for artillery and armour, this is...difficult. We can justify owning Infantry weapons, but there's no way we could do that with heavy equipment."

"I would suggest instead supplying us with weapons that can be concealed for the purpose of Revolution - RPGs, grenades, slightly heavier equipment such as that would work best for our plans." Eric smiled. "The Afghan rebels, although being totally against our cause, showed how they could kick the Soviets out using such weapons when up against the entire Red Army, so I think the ECP should take some lessons there. Armour can be just as easily destroyed by Bazooka and RPG if in an urban setting at a much more efficient cost to our own weaponry."

"We will supply you with whatever you think is best suitable. We need to find a place were the government won't suspect that it is us supplying you weapons. Or we need a front of some sort, perhaps bannana shipments of timber shipments. We could hide the weapons in the crates. But Peopleitas involvement must be kept a secret until the time is right."
Englemar
28-07-2005, 15:20
Eric nods in agreement to that statement.

"I agree, we need to keep this clandestine." He thought for a moment. "I have a contact in the Foreign Office who sympathises with our cause; I'm sure I can get them to sign an authorisation for International Trade for...shall we say, Bannanas?" He chuckled a little.

"The only other problem is the possibility of the ENF calling in support from overseas in putting down our rebellion, so this naval blockade is going to have to be pretty sturdy to stand up to other nations trying to get in."
Peopleita

Don't worry our navy is very very advanced. And if we can take the capital before others realise, then you can expect assistance if invaded. As soon as you get into office, I recommend that you sign the brothers in Arms treaty, the help of about 8 other nations will be coming your way.

Eric smiled. "It shall be the first thing I do after gaining office." He grinned. "Well, it seems that the details for our Revolution are completely finalised. If we have nothing else to discuss, then I should, how does the saying go, prepare for government." He laughed.

Che smiled. "Allow me to see you to the door. Fidel, you know the way to the airport. Goodbye Eric, and I'll speak to you later Fidel."

Eric shook Che's hand and smiled. "Goodbye my friend, and good luck to both of us."

(OOC: I'll give it a few days to let enough time pass in which to be able to stockpile enough weapons, and then I'll make the thread for the revolt.)
