Premier Maximus looked across the many charts. His military might was growing but he knew that he would need more military research for his armies to be more powerful. Maximus looked over the list of scientists that were in his governments pay. Well, they were the only scientists that could function in his nation. There were some hopefulls.
One scientist, Dr. Rubious Lin had come up with an enginous idea, the construction of machines two and a half times the hieght of man, with weapons mounted on its arms. It was a giant construct and with the promise of bringing heavy fire power to the military. The machines would cost a pretty penny themselves, but they held a promise of bringing a much needed fire power to the army.
Another scientist, Dr. Cho Wong, was working on a revolutionary new suit of armor that added strength, speed, stamina, and most of all protection for the troops. The suits were all enclosed and were the perfect defence against biological and other chemical compounds.
The third scientist of the group, Dr. Amelia Richtar was working on new and improved inhancements that were to be surgically implanted into the willing soldier. They would be turned from regular soldiers into super soldiers. It was a promising program and Maximus was very interested in the whole idea of the super soldier. As would probibly the rest of the Nations in the Alliance of the Mother Land.
The forth and final scientist of the group, Dr. John Land, would be developing new weapons for these new super soldiers. The weapons would be devastating and also powerful. Economical in all regards and easy to use and operate.
Maximus waited for the four scientists to make thier appearance. He wanted them all together one last time before they were to go to their labratories and build thier creations. One by one they flowed into the room until the last one arrived, just on time. Maximus would hate to have to have one of them dispossed for simple lateness. But they were all on time. Time to get down to buisness.
"Comrades, you have been gathered here today because of your abilities at making military weapons inwhich for the great mother land is to benifit from. Your ideas are revolutionary and most of all, will allow for the military of the mother land to defend itself against the people who threaten our great lands. You shall be given all the supplies and funding that you will need. However, failure to produce results will end with you finding yourselves in a very unwanted position." He put emphasis on this last part. He did not want his countries well earned money to be wasted on petty things. He wanted results.
"Now, I would like all of you to share you full ideas to the rest of us. It is better to know what each of us is doing so that we may work towards a better mother land." Dr. Lin was the first. "Well premier, I would like to start by saying that there is one problem with my idea." He saw the look of displeasure on Maximus's face and quickly continued. "Whoever is to pilot these machines will be permenantly intombed within the machine. They become one with it. It is my suggestion that whoever does get this honor be the most loyal of all soldiers. Other then that, they are able to mount weapons unweildable by regular troopers easily. They can keep up with the infantry and, are able to go just about any place the basic infantry man can go. I shall be working very closely with Dr. Land here to make sure the weapons that he is developing are able to be mounted on my machines."
Maximus was pleased and motioned for the next person to present their ideas. Dr. Wong was next. "Premier, my power suits will allow the basic soldier to become a killing machine. The strength will be increased to the point where he will be able to crush rocks. Servos inside the suits will allow them to travel for miles without getting fatigued and still fight on. The suits will be able to be completly sealable and run off the internal oxygen supply, thus allowing troopers to fight virtually anywhere. Working closely with Dr. Richtar I am developing a revolutionary suit that is incerted under the skin to fully integrate the armor with the human. Creating one entity. One killing machine. The tests so far are showing results we are looking for."
Premier Maximus had a smile on his face now. He motioned for Dr. Richtar to give her findings. "Premier, my tests have shown that with the right conditions, I can create a human into a killing machine. Able to withstand bullet shots and continue going for a while longer. More organs are being developed, but the number so far is up to 18. Ranging from a third lung, a second heart, to an organ that makes genes to continue the making of a super warrior. I am making it so that the suits will be able to meld right to the warrior and give him the feeling of a second skin. There is still some testing that needs to be done, but so far, the results have shown promise."
Maximus's smile was going from ear to ear. The thought of just having these technologies in his reach gave him a warm feeling inside. Land spoke up before Maximus could motion towards him. Initative, Maximus was liking this man even more. "I have been developing multiple weapons for the power suits, dreadnoughts and regular troops to better the military. The basic weapon for the powersuits, the boltgun, fires basically a large bolt at the enemy with devastating effects. This can also be in the pistol form, still as powerful but in a smaller package. There are countless powerweapons being developed, able to cut through just about any substance. Laser technology is also being expanded. This includes the lasgun and las pistol, easily weildable by the basic infantry warrior. To the more powerful Lascannon which can be mounted on tanks and espicially the new dreadnought. Heavy bolters, even larger then the bolter are able to put out an incredable amount of fire. There is also the larger weapons in construction such as the macro cannon which is extremly large, both in size and in range. Destruction is its function." Land smiled at the thought of his weapon causing so much damage to the enemies of the Mother Land.
Premier Maximus looked at the assembled group of scientists. "You all have great potential. Do not fail me, or your people, or most of all, the Mother Land. Your abilities are a shame to waste. You shall get all the funding you need to finish your works. A secure bunker for all of you with all the testing facilities you need is at your disposal. I want these weapons to function without flaw, thus take the time needed to make sure they do not fail a trooper in the heart of battle. These are our people who are fighting here. They are to be given as much protection as they can get. That is all you are dismissed."
The group rose as one and walked out the large doors of the audiance chamber. Premier Maximus sat back down at his desk and began to review each of the inventions over again. Imagining their destructive power against the enemies of the Mother Land.
