"Upon returning from battle in Rammsteinburg, General Shensek ordered his troops to occupy the capitol and arrest president Trakias. The arrest was only a part of the coup to overthrow the democracy of the Trakias government, and several deputies and senators have been arrested as well. A plebiscite was held, and the people voted overwhelming to return the Emperor and to abolish the presidency. Emperor Shensek has begun a campaign to consolidate his power, purging the officer corps and arreseting oppistion leaders in both houses of the legislature.
Answering questions about the constitutionality of his takeover, the emperor ordered that the original constitution be burned, then released a statement saying "What constitution? I see no constitution preventing me from being the leader?"
It is estimated that at least 1200 traitors have been executed in the coup so far.
