After a few months of slapping things together our engineers have satified the Lone Alliances desire for an 800mm cannon on an effective naval platform. Our baffled engineers put two of our Battleship Hulls together. In a project our engineers have nicknamed "The Compensator" we have finished their request.

Running about $18 billion dollars we have devised a way to make the 800mm be functional beyond the 4 week setup and rehaul. Using Iridium-Titanium-Vandium-Steel (ITVS) alloys the new hardened metal resists damage from heat and was an extreme challenge to shape it ourselves but prevents the barrel from damaging itself for every shot. The new barrel is rated for an astounding 50 shots. The recoil system is a miracle in itself, currently secret, it relies on many, many, compensators so the ship only lurches at a 30 degree angle when it fires. The ETC system also helps it. However the main turret is so large it must have its own seperate nuclear reactor to properly power it. It takes up most of the center section, the control area of this "Death-boat" is placed toward the rear where the helicoptors and VTOL aircraft would normally be.

Specs:

Main weapon system: 800mm GustavX ETC Main Gun full 360 degree rotation
Light Displacement: 100,000 tons
Full Displacement: 152,000 tons
Overall Length: 900 ft
Waterline Length: 860 ft
Max speed is 35 knots (65 km/hr)
Armour: Outer Layer: Titanium-Ceremic Composite (4 in/102 mm), Middle
Layer: Ballistic Steel (4 in/102 mm), Internal Layer Alluminum Alloy
(4 in/102 mm). Throughout the ship vandium steel honeycombs create supporting structures.
Five hybrid pebblebed reactors power this ship, the armour is 12 inches
(304 mm) thicker in this area.
Auxillary Weapons system: 8 Hybrid LASER/25mm Gatling Gun CIWS systems
9-5" guns in the front on 3 turrets
9-5" guns in the rear on 3 turrets
15 88mm Flak Cannons dispersed throughout the ship
12 - Tomahawk ASM/LAM - 8 armored box launchers
24 - Exocet ASM - 6 quad cell launchers

$3.4 billion US

And The Lone Alliance owes us $10 billion to pay for research and a Death-boat.

For all those asking, we shall only build one, there is no way in heaven or hell I'm building another, that price is how much it cost us, the 6.6 billion USD is for research.

bump for the Lone Alliance.

$3.4 billion is WAY too cheap for this thing. Unless your talking PMT.

Do keep in mind that its armour thickness isn't going to stop anything beyond a Harpoon. Other than that and that the ship has absolutely no medium range air defence armaments, I'd agree that this ship's a bit too cheap unless you are going to have a gun that suffers extensive reliability problems.

Consider Payment to be transfered.

We heavyly thank your aid in designing this product of, as quoted by our impontent Army General 'overkillage'

Also to the dismay of the military the Council has agreed to name it the
The Compensator class Battleship.

[OOC: Generally it is more efficient (if you have the money and industrial capability) to produce a large ship which mounts many guns than to produce a small ship which mounts only one. Not only is the small vessel much less stable than the large ship but it cant carry secondary weapons (as this doesnt) and cant have very thick armour. 800m = 31.4". The Doujin Class mounts 20x 30" guns, and many other nations produce superdreadnaughts which mount similar numbers. It would be better to spend the cash to buy one of those than to make this, which is underarmoured and underarmed, mounting only a single gun which is unlikely to be very useful on its own.

A standard battleship gun in WWII could put out a few hundred full charge firings before needing to be replaced, and they were only 14 - 18" (355mm - 455mm) and so your claim that you can get a 30" gun to survive 5000 firings is somewhat... impossible and illogical. 100 would be a more realistic (well optimistic, but this is NS) figure.

As a proof of concept vessel or as a weapons field-trial vessel, this is a good ship. As an actual warship, this is pretty useless.]

(OOC: I know this is more of a joke than an actual serious weapons platform, Like Leafanistan said, it would be mostly useful as a terror weapon, in the past many nations have tried very stupid weapon designs, This is the Lone Alliance stupid weapon, besides the ship design could eventually be used for other purposes, Also the shells for this gun are big enough to hide a nuclear device inside.)

OOC: For all those asking, I've only built one, that is how much it cost us to build one, the rest is for research costs, we overhauled the old recoil system and took two battleship hulls that we were going to use for other purposes. This is a proof-of-concept vessel for The Lone Alliance, and the Titanium Ceramic can take a lot more that it seems. We've fired Exocet missiles into it and its repelled one before failure of the first layer. That is if the CIWS system can't stop it in the first place. Like I said, my engineers lie to me constantly when they are drunk, which is one of the reasons they accepeted this project, I'll make it 50.
