Godular

It had been about two weeks since the Battle of Thorn, and an air of elation still wafted through the myriad corridors of the Asmodeus. In that time, much had happened. The Empire had put out a bounty on Godulan vessels and civilians, the Godulans had retaliated by offering a bounty on imperial stations and bounty hunters, some group known as the Band of Seven had gone off and committed one of the most horrendous atrocities just to wipe out a defense grid, and the Empire had declared war on the Godulans as a result.
Even now, the Godulan allies, the Alliance of Naggeroth, the Germanische Zustande, and several other nations displeased with the oppressive nature of the imperial dogs, were spread out throughout the galaxy, attacking and defending against the Imperials and several freelancer nations that had some form of beef against the Germanische Zustande. The fighting had not been going well, as the Godulan Allies had found themselves outnumbered at nearly every turn by veritable swarms of imperial sycophants.
But now... now the Godulans themselves were ready to enter the fray.
General Lear felt an odd sensation travel down her artificial spine as she watched the gathering fleet, no... fleets. It was truly a sight to behold. Not only was a massive portion of the Godulan fleet massed for striking throughout the Galactic Empire, but they had two extra fleets to do their bidding as well.
The first, a massive fleet of robots devised by the Godulans and several close friends within the very alliance from which hailed the freelancer elements arrayed on the side of the Empire, The Kython Scourge had been thoroughly tested, through experimentation and trial by fire. Even now, many of their smaller vessels roamed the interstellar highways and byways, cataloging critical points for future strikes from a distance or up close. As of this moment, the Godulans estimated that they had approximately half of the Sensor grid scouted out, along with some thirty percent of the communications network.
The second was somewhat less numerous, but no less inspiring in all their majesty. The full acquired might of the Alliance of Naggeroth general fleet rested throughout the system, awaiting their turn to receive various Godulan upgrades in order to complement the task ahead. Kython ConSpiders and Godulan Ant Swarms roamed throughout the fleets, finishing off what had taken so long to complete.
A full Germanische Zustande Battle Group, and four souped up Eclipse Class Super Star Destroyers, just finished with their more extensive upgrades, rounded out the jawdropping ensemble.
"So how goes the Retrofitting?" Baron Skye asked as he came up to General Lear and gave the fleets a cursory glance.
"Well, we managed to put some more efficient power cores into the Eclipses, with a full refit towards Protium Arc weapons. We suspect their overall firepower has been at least doubled."
"And maneuverability?"
"Fully outfitted with probability drives and slipstream. They won't be able to track them easily anymore. No more ion trails or hyperspace vectors to rely on. Plus, I doubt anybody would be able to suspect the damn things of being able to move as fast as these things can now."
"A good sign indeed. How about the General Fleet?"
"Well, their weapons are rather inefficient, but damn powerful nonetheless. We have engineers working on upping the power conversion ratios. They only needed the Probability drives installed. Also, you may notice, the AoN ships are pretty damn big. These suckers can take a major beating, plus they look cool."
"Are those... giant golden statues?"
"Gothic to the extreme."
"What bloody purpose do they serve?!"
"None, by the looks of it, but truth be told, I believe that their presence is more of an afterthought anyway."
"Different strokes, as they say. Now how about the Kythons?"
"The Slaughterkings are armed and ready, carrying full complements of Slaymaster Fighters. We've attached about thirty Death Darts to each of the Eclipses, and about ten each onto the larger AoN vessels. We are not too worried about them making up the smaller portion of the battle force, as we know their numbers will increase with each kill we score."
Baron Skye nodded. "Maximillian is very proud of the Kythons. They turned out better than we had expected. How about our... long range munitions?"
"Well, we expended twenty-six Red Rain torpedos against the Chronosian battle fleet, add on the ten Arcturus came with when he entered the system at the end and we are down by about a fifth of our Red Rain supply. Hopefully we can conserve our usage long enough to avoid... running out of ammo.
"As for the relatively new Javelins, well, we've got about 75 of those, but we're making them fast. That replicator technology Balrogga gave us is simply amazing."
"I hear it boosted troop morale a bit as well."
"After several centuries of Godulan StarNavy Troopers having to live with ramen noodles and nutrient wafers whenever they were on deployment, the ability to eat a steak dinner, provided instantly, hot and steaming with just the right spices, was received with nigh unsurpassed glee."
A muffled "SAAAAAAAAAAALMON!" erupted from the corridor behind them, followed immediately by: "With... with... MACARONI AND CHEESE! And... and... and... uh... TATER TOTS! AND GIMME SOME FREAKING PEAS'N'CORN!"
"The novelty remains, even now."
"So I see... back on topic, when will the fleets be ready to move?"
"Well, we have but to finish off the minor refits to the AoN vessels, which will likely be done tomorrow. After that, its just point-and-kill for you, Baron."
"Excellent. Be ready to move. We want to take advantage of their existing scuffling as soon as possible. And remember, we need those sensor stations eliminated first and foremost. Then Communications hubs, then Shipyards."
"I understand one of our allies has taken a similar approach, and is presently assaulting Kamino."
"Then perhaps they would be willing to join our... crusade. After the sensor grid is compromised, feel free to send several detachments to assist in their efforts, and hopefully recruit them."
"Yes Baron. I had the same thought, I merely wished to know if you would approve..."
"After your work at Thorn, I do believe you will find my support somewhat unwavering, General Lear. You have proven yourself quite well, and I expect nothing less than excellence in this war as well."
Baron Skye turned to leave the viewing room, muttering "A pity about Thorn..."
General Lear found herself alone with her thoughts once again. She turned back to the viewport and continued her vigil. Come tomorrow, the Empire would burn...
