Tiger MBT
Weapons:
Main Weapon:
The Main weapon on a Tiger MBT is a 120mm Gyro stabilised Rifled cannon.
Able to use caseless and cased 120mm ammunition.
Secondary weapons:
1x 30mm Auto cannon: with 1 450 round ammo drum mounted co-axle with main gun and can fire up to 650 RPM.
1x 15mm Heavy machine gun with 1 1,100 round ammo drum mounted in mini turret on top of the main turret
Short-range disruption grenades: The grenade launchers on the tank are connected to all the warning and sensor systems. And are capable of launching Flash bangs, smoke grenades or fragmentation grenades
Side mounted Weapon Systems:
The Tiger MBT gives the user the option of mounting different weapons pods/systems on mounts provided; here is a list of weapons.
General-purpose rocket launchers
20mm Vulture rotary cannons with 500 round magazines
Sensor equipment
Communications equipment
General-purpose rocket launcher System:
The General purpose launcher can fire many different types of missiles that include
ATWGMs (anti-tank wire guided missiles)
ATLGMs (anti-tank Laser guided missiles)
Unguided Rockets
SRSAMs (short ranged surface to air missiles)
RPRTDs (rocket powered Radar/thermal decoys)
it can carry 8 missiles in total
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Electronics:
Onboard Computer System: Is a small tactical computer that shows all incoming battlefield data in an easy to read format for the crew to act upon. Also can share information via a satellite uplink to other battlefield units.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Armour:
The Tiger MBT’s armour consists of super tough Titanium ceramic fibre steel composite. Over outwardly exposed track mechanism flexible carbon boron plates are installed. When in anti-insurgency role tungsten steel chains are hung from strategic points on the turret and track pods.
Ablative armour can be attached to strategic places on the main body and turret e.g. cockpit, engine compartment and ammo storage areas.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Sound masking system:
Materials that reduce the sound emitted from the engine surround the engine and the engine parts are finely machined to reduce sound emissions.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Engines: The Tiger MBT is powered by four small five cylinder turbo diesel engines mounted in the track pods each one drives its one track pod and submits a small amount of its energy via a dynamo to the tank’s electrical systems.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Transmission:
An automatic hydraulic transmission (with manual backup).
Suspension:
Each Track pod has its own independent high tension compressible spring suspension system. This allows all track pods to move independently of each other.
Tracks:
The Tiger MBT uses a four track pod modular system whereby the track pods when damaged can be easily replaced by returning to the nearest supply station.
Each track is also fitted with Kevlar-rubber composite pads with high traction grip to muffle sound whilst travelling and to protect the track from normal wear and tear.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Other Notes:
Manuel redundancy:
On main gun firing mechanism allows gun to be traversed, inclined and fired even when electrical short out has rendered the electric motors useless. This is achieved via hand cranks.
NBC System:
If NBC weapons are predicted to be used in a conflict the tank can be made airtight and air-recycling systems can be installed.
Ergonomical features:
Electrical heater, shielded internal lights.
Storage is present for the storage of up to three carbines and ammunition and survival gear for four days in wilderness terrain for the whole tank crew.
Modular construction:
All main components can be easily removed and replaced in a nearby battlefield supply station. So that a tank can be returned to the battle quickly for minor damage such as track pod loss. (Modular components include; Tactical computer, track pods, turret, main gun, mini turret and side mounted equipment pods.
Certain turrets and track pods can be interchanged with other armoured vehicles in the army.
