The Prince George Riot (Earth II, ATTN Yelm)

(OOC: "British Columbia" here is simply called "Columbia" because it's not British)

4:30AM, Prince George, Columbia

Gregory Thomas had a short night. Arriving home at 2AM from his job at the local paper mill, Thomas had a short nap before he began devising a plan. A pro-Yelmish supporter, he was disgusted that the Romans had assumed control over Columbia instead of handing it back to King Yelm and thus had spent several days in secret devising a strategy for which to get it back. He convinced about ten people from the mill to join him in his quest, and tonight each would be in on his plan.

By 4:30, the millers were prepared to go out. Their plan consisted of raiding the local Roman military garrison, stealing the weapons, and storming into Prince George itself. With a bit of luck they'd be able to overwhelm the installation, which they figured wasn't heavily guarded since nothing really happens in Prince George anyway.

At 5AM, the millers reached the garrison. To their surprise, they found the lone Roman guard asleep at his desk, so Smith changed his plans. Two of the millers would stand outside and call the others if the guard ever woke up, while another two millers would work to trip up the emergency switches. The other six would carry the weapons. Everything went according to plan, allowing the millers to move on to Prince George itself at 6AM, reaching City Hall a half hour later.

By 6:36AM, the local Roman authorities received word of the infiltrated unit and of the millers' march to Prince George. A century from Lake Vanderhoof was called in, and reached City Hall in about two hours.

Meanwhile, the local residents were aghast. The millers begun chanting for the independence of Prince George and the restoration of Columbian rule to King Yelm. Some of the residents joined the millers and chanted themselves, with still others breaking into stores, looting and pillaging as they went. Other residents were simply disturbed that their sleep was being hindered, and still others verbally and physically assaulted the pro-Yelm side, lauding the end of conscription in the area since Rome took power. A giant clash broke out at 8AM involving literally thousands of people, and was still going on when the century moved in. Sensing that it was too big for the century to handle, the Lake Vanderhoof 2nd Cohort was called in, and only when they arrived- at 10:30AM- did the situation resolve itself. Meanwhile, the millers opened fire on the century and killed three soldiers before the Cohort managed to arrest them, as well as over 3,000 other rioters.

The incident shook the Roman Governor in Vancouver, as well as the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, the only areas where the Roman Government was overwhelmingly popular. As soon as he heard of the incident, Lucius Martius Rodemari ordered the release of the first-time rioters (scheduled for 12PM tommorow) and brought the rest- about 14 people- to be brought to Fort James for trial. He also called the Yelmish official in Port Hardy. "Hello? This is Lucius Martius Rodemari. I need to speak to the Governor of Port Hardy. Columbia has just experienced a revolt and it concerns Yelm."

Baron Ander Gunnar was half asleep at his desk. The once proud Yelmish fighter, who assisted in acquiring several African territories and Algeria was succumbing to the terror of aging. He dreaded not being able to lead soldiers against enemy forces, or fight on the front lines himself. He was forced to read the daily intelligence papers on the ongoing battle in Ecuador, Northern Romania, Bulgaria, and Algeria to satisfy his need for battle. If only I was twenty or so years younger thought the fifty two year old Gunnar. After hitting the ripe old age of forty eight he was forced to maintain control of various bases throughout the empire, however mostly in Africa. He was appointed the new commander at Port Hardy right after it was delivered into Yelmish hands. A firm knock was heard at his door, "Baron Gunnar?" spoke a young officer as he opened the door. The Baron stood straight up in his chair and gave a sharp look to the young officer, "Yes?" spoke Baron Gunnar, slightly aggitated that his afternoon nap was disturbed.

"There is a call from Lucius Martius Rodemari of Rome. From what he's said to me there is some sort of revolt in Columbia. And it concerns us. He's on line four." The Baron nodded and waved the officer off. He quietly closed the door behind him. A revolt? Maybe I will be able to get my hands a little dirty after all. thought Gunnar to himself. He pressed the flashing four button and picked up the phone.

"Hello, Lucius Rodemari. This is Baron Ander Gunnar of Yelm. I am currently the top Yelm authority at Port Hardy. I hear you have a revolt on your hands and it involves us. What information do you have?"

"Hello, Lucius Rodemari. This is Baron Ander Gunnar of Yelm. I am currently the top Yelm authority at Port Hardy. I hear you have a revolt on your hands and it involves us. What information do you have?"

"Well, so far it's sketchy. I'm getting reports that ten men opened fire on our soldiers and actually killed three of them. These ten men apparently also started the revolt and were carrying military-grade weapons that we believe were stolen from the garrison at Prince George, which was reported to have been broken into earlier in the day, although the garrison operator does not remember who broke into the building (Rodemari muttering) Probably because that idiot was asleep (end muttering). We have also detained four other people who have been caught in protest infractions before today and will bring those up on minor charges as repeat protest offenders. The ten men with the guns will all, however, be charged with the murder of the soldiers.

Now, what is most important to you is that the ten men- Jim Sobreski, Jackson Stevens, Robert Miller, Peter Tomkinson, Earl Radek, Greg Smith, Kyle Clever, Lars Gudarson, Julian Miles and Gregory Thomas- were all chanting for the return of Prince George to Yelm authority. We don't believe they were acting as part of an independence group but we do believe there are more pro-Yelm groups in Columbia, especially north of the Lower Mainland where we've witnessed these protests before. What we need from you is if you know of any information pertaining to a pro-Yelm movement in Columbia within Yelm lands and/or if you know of any nationalistic Yelm living outside of your lands with a history of causing trouble. This is because we need to make sure we know for certain whether this was an isolated incident or not."

OOC: Yelm, if you want to claim any- or all- of the ten men as Yelm citizens you can. If you don't want to that's also okay.

The Baron rubbed his beard as he listened to the Roman speak. He wrote down the names of the individuals he said were causing the trouble. As he was talking the Baron searched through his computer's database of Yelmish citizens who were either ex-military, or were former politicians with any sort of influence over the Columbian populace when it was under Yelmish control."Well, I've looked into your rioters through our database and apparently, Earl Radek, Lars Gudarson, and Gegory Thomas were former Yelmish citizens. And coincidentally all have had military experience. Radek was in the several wars in East Africa, serving with the 10th Army. Gudarson and Thomas were involved in the War for Columbia some years ago. Both served in the same unit, the 27th Marine Division, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Battalion, Fox Company, Bravo Unit. They are most likely close friends.

Currently I have no sort of nationalistic organizations supporting the Yelmish Kingdom, atleast none in my database. However a good amount of retired Yelmish veterans, and politicians still live in Columbia. All of their names, and last known address will be sent to your offices, listed in highest threat to lowest. Their are some that may be more troubling than others. Alec Numeic, Klien Liska, and Erik Isov were former Marine special forces. When I say special forces I mean the best the military has to offer." The Baron paused for a moment. What he wasn't telling him that all three were former Marine Infiltration, Sabotage, Assasination and Destruction (I.S.A.D.) This unit is the elitest military unit the entire military. Currently, there's only 36 soldiers part of I.S.A.D. He continued. "Nothing else really stands out. Well, there's also Viktor Von Kurstrik. He was the former governor of Vancouver. Before Columbia was handed over he had the greatest influence in the entire territory. If there is some sort of Pro-Yelmish rebellion going on, he would either know about it or be involved in it. Anything else you would like to inquire about?"

"Thomas and Gudarson were in Columbia, eh?" Rodemari paused. Thomas was apparently the millers' leader, so it made sense that he served in Columbia. "Interesting. As far as the others are concerned, thank you for the information. We will place it in a special file and notify in secret our police services to prepare them for the threat that they may cause. We won't do anything else just yet, since we don't want to create a panic. My last request will be Viktor's phone number. I want to contact him ASAP."

OOC: Yes I do, I'll TG you what I'm thinking. I'll do that tomorrow though. Kind of tired.

IC:
"Very well. I can't guarentee you he's still in the residence, but it's worth a try. One minute." The Baron typed in for Kurstrik's profile. "Phone number is area code 991-221-0076. One last thing, Viktor is extremely wealthy. Some of his friends are in unlawful businesses. If there's any sort of rebellion, or riot planned. Viktor would know ahead of time. Have a good day and good luck. Contact me if you require anything." With that he exchanged good-by's and hung up the phone.

OOC: Very well then. I hope you don't mind that I RP the first few minutes of the phone call (if I get anything wrong, let me know).

IC: "Thanks. Will do. Good-bye." Rodemari hung up the phone and immediately called Vikor Kurstrik.

"The Viktor Kurstrik Residence, how can I help you?" beamed an over-enthusiastic secretary as she answered Rodemari's call.

"Is Viktor in? This is the Roman Governor of Columbia."
"One moment please."
Rodemari was put on hold. For a VERY long time. He was certain that in the time it took Kurstrik to get to the phone he listened to the entire Hit List.

"Kurstrik. This better be important because I'm missing my beauty sleep," snarled Kurstrik.
Oh brother. I'm interrupting his beauty sleep. Well excuse me. It's not my fault I actually make myself useful. Rodemari caught himself before he uttered the sarcastic remark he wanted to make.
"Mr. Kurstrik, a revolt has broken out in Prince George and we believe it was started by pro-Yelm seperatists. Do you have any information about any of this?"
Yelm

Viktor Von Kurstrik was expecting this phone call. Kurstrik was once the richest and most influential politician in all of Columbia. Most of his wealth has remained, however his influence over these romans was close to nothing. Kurstrik loved the feeling of being in control, and being able to have anything he wishes. Living the rest of his life as a wealthy business man was something he didn't want. "A Yelmish separatist movement? Why I can't imagine who would start such a ruckus." He paused for a moment, "Well I do now of a man that came to me to buy a rather large building, in the middle of nowhere. The building is a three storied, old brick factory. The thing that struck me as odd wasn't the building however. When I asked him what he was using the building for he said that it, 'Doesn't concern me.' So naturally, using my sources, I got some backround information on the man. Apparently his real name is Klein Liska, he had given me a false name. He was formerly in the Yelmish military, and had several 'disturbances' with authority figures. I might be going out of my place, but I believe that this Liska character is planning something in that building. That or he is building something. The building is some twenty miles north from Fort St.John. Just follow Tree Road until you see the old brick building. You can't miss it."

"Other than that I do not know how else I can help."

OOC: So was I off with how I portrayed him then? I figured that if he was rich he'd be of the type that doesn't like to be bothered- unless, of course, it's his closest friends.

IC: "Thank you Mr. Kurstrik." Rodemari had a gut feeling that he was lying through his teeth about having no further information, but he had no evidence so he didn't go further. "Well, that shall do for now. I will contact you as needed."

Immediately, Rodemari sent the Dawson Creek 6th Century (3rd Cohort Division) to the area specified by Von Kurstrik late at night to scout the building. Later the following day, Dawson Creek 6th Centurion Gregorius Constantius approached the building himself and knocked on the door, with his century tucked far away enough in the distance that they couldn't be seen but they could see Constantius. "This is the Dawson Creek 6th Centurion Gregorius Constantius. I would like to ask the owner of this building a few questions."

OOC: This century has only 60 soldiers, but they're only there in case something happens to the Centurion. Technically they can't be seen, because the Centurion is only in binocular range.

The door of the old building slowly creaked open. An old man around the age of fifty-eight stood at the door. "Good day sir. Mr.Liska is in his quarters. You may wait for him in the Living Area." The old man pointed to his left and walked away. The old building was lavishly decorated inside. Elaborate paintings, comfortable furniture, a fireplace, and a large plasma T.V. were just some of the expensive items in the Living Area. A glass case lay on top of the fireplace's mantle. In it was numerous amounts of medals, a single quote was written at the bottom of the glass case, Vincit qui se vincit . Heavy footsteps were heard behind the roman officer. Klein Liska stood from the stairway, smiling, "Good day, Centurion. I hear you have some questions to ask me?" He motioned for the officer to take a seat.

The old man who the centurion had met at the door approached the two. He carried two cups of coffee, "Coffee, sir." spoke the waiter. Liska nodded and motioned the man to go away. Liska grabbed his cup and sat back in his chair, "You may begin whenever you wish." Behind the Centurion the old man was closing the blinds, the evening sun becoming too strong.

Outside the building, the remaining part of the Century called for backups. "They've closed the blinds," radioed Gregalis Cornelius Marcus, who led the First Contubernium of the Century. "We request backup and a reconaissance/attack helicopter, but keep a low profile."

Inside, the Centurion waved away the coffee. He sensed something was up when the blinds got closed. "Mind if we keep the blinds open? It's too sunny out there to keep it closed." He moved his military vest to reveal his gun and leave it plain sight of Mr. Liska. He wasn't a top-flight soldier, but he did have plenty of experience and was prepared for a fight.

"Now, Mr. Liska, as you already know, there was a revolt that occurred in Prince George early yesterday. We want to know if you have any information regarding that revolt."

(OOC: I'm heading off to eat some lunch. Will respond later. By the way, in case you don't know, Gregalis=Private)

Liska smiled, "I myself am more of a tea man. Reynolds, the blinds if you could please." The old man walked over and opened the blinds. Liska watched as the man adjusted his vest to reveal his sidearm, Liska couldn't help but to smile. Typical gesture of authority. "Hmm, revolt you say? That is interesting indeed... If you wil follow me I have some information in my office that could be of use to you."

Liska got up from his chair and began walking over to the stairs.

Liska led the man up the stairs, talking casually about pictures on his walls and their historical significance. Liska and Roman passed through a series of guest bedrooms. As the two walked passed the doors two men emerged. They quietly aimed their tranquilizer pistols and shot the roman twice in the neck each. Immediately after he was shot Liska went and reached for the roman's pistol. He dropped the magazine and took out the round in the chamber. The two men drew their compact Steyr AUG rifles, and Liska took out his automatic Glock pistol. He spoke quickly to the two men, "Grab him and take him to the tunnel. The roman is not alone. I'll set a timer on the house to explode. I'm setting it to two minutes so you better move." The two men nodded and dragged the man to the entrance to an old Yelmish military tunnel. The tunnel was two miles long and waiting them at the exit of the tunnel was a van. Liska quickly set the explosives and ran to the tunnel. So far, everything was going well.

Marcus looked in bewilderment as the building went up in smoke. "Poor Centurion Constantius," he said as he watched in the distance. The operation now became a search mission of Constantius' body.

(OOC: Remember, they were far from the building and to them it looks like Constantius was blown up)

The Century examined the wreckage and to their surprise saw no one. Somebody did find Constantius' magazine but no evidence of a body. Marcus immediately radioed Rodemari.

"What? Our Centurion is missing? This can't be good," said the Governor. He immediately called Von Kurstrik. "I'm sorry. Viktor is on vacation. Please leave a message and he will get back to you as soon as he can."

Rodemari was fuming. This is bigger than we thought.

The truck slowly pulled in towards the large brick building, another old factory. Liska took a quick look around, nobody would be around for miles. They were roughly thirty miles north of Nelson Forks, an old dirt road hardly ever used led them to this old brick building. The two men dragged the roman from the back of the truck, still knocked out. They carried his body to the front door. Liska rang the door bell. Answering the door was a stocky middle aged man, roughly thirty two years old. He was Sven Oslen, former member of the 27th Marine Division. Sven nodded to Liska, and opened the door. They took the roman to the basement and dropped him on the floor, they searched his clothing for any tracking devices, and found none. The men gathered his equipment and destroyed it. Liska turned and walked up the stairs, "He should wake in a couple of hours, I have business to attend to. Don't lose him." The men nodded. Liska walked outside and climbed inside one of the cars. A total of thirty armed revolutionist occupied the building.

Alec Numeic slowly puffed on his cigar. The shipment was late he said to himself, checking his watch. It was around midnight and he was growing increasingly impatient. Twelve other men stood with him, armed with Uzi's, and pistols. This specific weapons shipment would be essential for ensuring the rebels can stand up against Roman helicopters and armour. They better be here soon, Alec thought to himself.

The meduim size boat gently glided on the Stikine River. The boat was laden with C4 explosives, RPGs, Stinger missiles, mines, grenades, the works. Six men armed with pistols commandeered the boat, ensuring the romans wouldn't get their hands on the boat's precious cargo.

OOC: You can RP your guy waking up whenever you want.

OOC: You can RP your guy waking up whenever you want.

OOC: Heheh. Those rebels should see what I did to Dallas...

On another front, I'm thinking we should do the same in Dacia (Romania/Bulgaria). I mean, I gave that to you for British Columbia so if there's rebels here there have to be rebels in Dacia.

IC: Constantius woke up in total bewilderment. Where am I? What am I doing here? Then he saw the two men who were his guards. Oh. They turned around, approached him and started to beat him a little. Not enough to do any real damage but just to let him know that this wasn't going to be his "home" any time soon.

In Vancouver, Rodemari was livid upon hearing the news. "Gregorius Constantius is dead. Great, just great." I have a rebellion going on in my province and now I have a dead Centurion. I am officially in charge of idiots. Just then, he received another phone call. This one was from the Emperor himself.

"Lucius? What's going on there?" said Emperor Rodin Hartian, calling from Ottawa where he was meeting with the Celtayoshian Premier Robert Nemeth over the details about a proposed cross-Canada highway called Yonge Street. "I need some answers and I need them now."

"Well, your majesty, we've just lost a Centurion-"
Hartian was livid. "You lost a f@#$ing Centurion! What are you doing in there!?"
"Sir, I sent him to investigate and now the Dawson Creek Century believes he's dead. This rebellion thing...I don't even know where it is and to what extent it is."
"Well," continued the Emperor, catching himself before he launched another angry tirade. "Do you think you need the Army?"
"Not yet. I think that our forces can handle it. However, I'm thinking that maybe we need to loosen up our control over the area a little."
Hartian paused. "Yeah, that might work." He didn't want a repeat of what happened to Dallas to happen at Prince George.
"I suggest you work to ensure the safety of the area. Then hold a plebiscite to determine if they want to remain a part of the Roman Empire."
"Yes sir."

Rodemari immediately ordered that the territory north of Kamloops and to the east of Columbia Highway 5 be placed under a "heightened terror alert", also ordering massive military reinforcements in all areas and increased reconaissance missions. Then issued the following statement:

Dear fellow countrymen,

Today we lost a valuable soldier, Centurion Gregorius Constantius. We believe he was killed by a pro-Yelmish terrorist group, and we are working to bring those who are responsible for his death as well as the deaths of three other Roman soldiers at Prince George to justice. We are also going to be holding a plebiscite in northern Columbia regarding political control over the area. This is because that we do not believe in imposing ourselves over people that do not want us, and it appears that our form of rule in the area may not be effective. However, we ask that everyone remain vigilant and look out for any suspicious activity so that we can bring the terrorists to justice and mold a newer, better political future for Columbia.

Sven Olsen walked several feet away from the Roman and began speaking to Ivan Miknan, "Let me begin the interrogation. I am almost sure I can get the needed information from our guest.{/i] Ivan nodded. Sven walked over to the roman, who was on the floor. He crouched down to eye level and read of his name tag. [i]"Gregorius Constantius. That is you I believ..." Sven tossed the name tag back to Ivan. "I am going to let you know from the get-go. We are going to have a mutual relationship. You provide me information, and I shall in return give you food, water. As I receive more information you get a bed, and the occasional shower. If I do not receive my information you will get no food or water. Beatings and torture will continue until I receive my information. I will leave now to let you think. Remember we're watching so don't try anything or we'll kill you and your family and friend." He pointed to several cameras in the room. Sven and Ivan quietly walked up the stairs from the damp basement, shutting the door behind them. The Roman was now in utter darkness.

The cargo shipment had finnally arrived. The cargo was placed in six seperate SUVs. Each SUV had three men, armed with grenades and Uzi submachine guns. If any SUV was stopped the men would have to shoot their way out of trouble.

OOC: You can RP one or all the SUVs being caught. As for the European Rebellion we can do that once my war is finished. I'm a little overwhelmed right now.
