Lucien Bouchard is getting old. Still a vibrant soul, at 67 the Quebecois nationalist knew that he was in a race against time in order to fulfill what he believed was Quebec's natural destiny. He believed that Quebec had lived for far too long under what he called "the British Yoke" and feels that now was the time to break free.

His problem? The current Quebecois nationalist leaders are getting old. His partner, Jacques Parizeau, was 75 and nearing retirement, and the man that they picked as their successor- Gilles Duceppe- has so far proven to be too soft. They were also beginning to wonder if the separatist movement's headquarters needed to be moved- being in the heart of "English Quebec" may be hurting their chances.

So they pressed their luck and started a campaign in more separatist Quebec City, intending to hold a meeting at the famous Chateau Frontenac hotel. Everything they did was done in secret, with the use of word-of-mouth and small pamphlets to spread the word, as well as the title "The Quebec City Beautification Project" for the meetings, a title only Quebec separatists knew. Here, the seperatists would be finding new blood, from which it could be hoped that a new, young successor for movement leadership could be found.

For a long time now there had been calm in Quebec, it was the generally held view that the seperatists had long since died out. Montreal was now a bustling city full of diverse cultures, and had become a strategic port for the Celtayoshi Navy. Precious efforts to appease the Quebecois were still in place, every place name was in French and English, every napkin a restaurant had both languages, children were by law required to achieve fluent French, even in the other states. However, the French language was no only really used by the old patriots, more and more of the youth were oblivious to their old cultures, turning instead to the Yoshian ways, so similar to the old ways of the British, from which the early Celtayoshians could be traced.
What some had feared was the last of the Quebecois would mount on desperate attempt to revive the youth, and bring them back to the old ways, that particular view had, however, long since been laughed off as silly scaremongering talk. As a result there were currently only a few serious operations to find the Quebecois, and none really going with full gusto, what was the point of stirring up trouble?
