The Emperian Trnansport landed at their set area. A group of Dinosaurs clambered (With two raptors) clambered out of the plane and made a ring of protection around the doorway. Then Bhalk stepped out and the group sealed around him and made their way after the other delegates.

As the ramp descended to the frozen runway and a gust of icy wind rushed in to the fuselage of the large diplomatic craft, Lord Varus, clad in a white fur parka stepped down, followed by a compliment of heaily armed Imperial White Guards. He did not shiver and his face remained exressionaless, as he had long become accustomed to the cold climes of Generia and the wasteland tundra that was the Alberian steppe. Compared to Alberia, Aust was Palm Beach. He looked up and down the runway for the welcoming committee, not much else on his mind but the flask he was raising to his lips.

Stepping from his 747, Lord Narseh Chehrazi, cheif negotiator of Parthia walked down the tarmac towards his waiting staff car. Two Immortals stood to his side, while another pair of servants followed him. The coldness of Austian climate shook him up, unlike his palaces in Shiraz or Tehran, where the summers were hot and the winters cold, this was a truly bone chilling cold. Placing on a gray overcoat, he then walked up to Bhalk and Varus, bowing before introducing himself.

Espying his close allies of the Bornerifreudic Empire, Saul Hudson strode toward Bhalk and Varus, already in conversation with Narseh Chehrazi of Parthia. Grinning his famously sardonic grin, he interjected on the subject of the peace talks, and asked what each nation’s priorities for peace terms were. He also wanted to get a sense of the dignitaries themselves before he sat down at the table.

New Secretary of State Niils Verclerk quickly descended the deplaning staircase and was hustled into a waiting limo out of the cold Austian air.
With a police escort his convoy travelled swiftly and Niils barely had time to aquiant himself with the participant's names and photos before he arrived.

Once inside he quikcly strode over the other CAD representatives to introduce himself as the new secretary of state.

Varus bowed slightly at the waist at the approach of the Freudian Emperor, an imposing figure despite the friendly look on his face. Varus had met the man only once before several years ago on a brief diplomatic journey to Phantasmo to discuss joint Bornerifreudian free design sharing but the image of the man had remained fresh in his mind. The conversation shifted to business quickly, as the Freudian Emperor began asking about Generian priorities for terms of peace, however as Varus spied the approaching Wirrawayan delegate, Niils Verclerk, the newly appointed Secretary of State, he excused himself from the present company to go introduce himself.

Varus had recently been studying the developments in Wirraway following the conclusion of the civil war that had plunged the land into a state of anarchy and virtual geographic nonexistence, and now in the aftermath of the rise of the new concordiat he was fascinated by how things were hastily pulling themselves back togethor. He had watched the speech of the newly appointed Coordinator Nuenfeld, and had noted with some apprehension the rhetoric used with regard to peace talks. The man was certainly no Achilles Brown from the looks of it, though he was a strong man who had managed to reunify a broken land, and now Generia would have to work with him, for better or worse. Varus decided it the more prudent course to take the positive first step.

"Mr. Secretary, it is my pleasure to introduce myself. I am Lord Varus Alexei, here on behalf of my uncle the Emperor Antonius, and Generia."

Of all the people at the gathering Verclerk had paid particular attention to the Generic Empire's Lord Varus. As well as being shrwed diplomat that some called a latter day Metternich, Varus represented one of Wirraways closest allies before the civil war. This being the case Coordinator Nuenfeld had made it very clear to Verclerk that relations with the Generic Empire be brought back into form.

After hearing Varus's greeting Verclerk responded warmly,

"It is an honor to meet you Lord Varus. I hope that you and Empreor Alexei are both in good health. I come here on behalf of Wirraway and Coordinator Neunfeld. Incidentally the coordinator sends his regards and also his wish to hold some talks with the Empreror."

Chairman Murdock stepped off of Alpha 2, one of the High Council transports, a pair of ODST flanking him, assault rifles at the ready. Striding toward a waiting car he and the ODST entered. The car sank slightly under the weight of the ODST-H armor (Operational Detatchment Shock Troop-Heavy) The car began driving toward the meeting place. along the ride one of the ODST began reviewing the schedule with the Chairman.

ODST1: Chairman, it is my duty to make sure that you are clear on the threat assessment of this endeavor and on your agenda for this trip. As such I am required to ask you to recite your agenda for the trip now.

Murdock: Requiem, Requiem, this is a peace talk is this really necessary?

(ODST1) Requiem: Yessir, you are the one that laid down these guidelines sir.

Murdock: Very well. We are to arrive and to proceed immediately to the rest of the C A D delegation with as little delay as possible, under your guard. Afterword I am to proceed to my chambers which Centenial will have secured after splitting off our group at the delegation. Once I am situated I am to return to the delegation, under your guard Requiem, and await the beginning of the negotiations. If at any time a threat is prsented against myself, directly or indirectly I am to defer to your judgement as to the appropriate course of action. Should violence break out for any reason I am to proceed to my chambers where you and Centenial may set up a defensible enplacement and call for back-up from the ODST still on Alpha 2.

(ODST2) Centenial: That is correct.

Requiem: Yes. We are approximately twenty minutes out from the meeting place. Please check your weapon now sir.

Murdock reached into his suit and withdrew his M-1911A1 nicknamed "Deal Closer" because of the fact that when negotiations go south this pistol was often a major player in bringing the violence to a quick and decisive end. He ejected the clip and loaded one more round into the clip, as one had been chambered during the flight. Flicking the safety on and off to check its condition and making sure that the sights were still roughly in the right place. Once he was satisfied he reholstered his pistol and waited for the car to reach its destination.

The military transport for the Monsterian delegation landed with little fanfare. It opened its maw for three heavily cloaked figures in black and a dozen very large and heavily armed soldiers to descend from. Nobody seemed all that put off by the climate, despite the tropical origins of the delegation as under military and council garb were high tech thermal retention clothing. Otherwise the trio of Council members would have been shivering and pathetic looking.

As it was, they met their Austian welcomers with cryptic statements that could have been construed as thanks and walked behind the now very large knot of CAD delegates to the conference area.

As part of their opening remarks, they respond to Freudotopia's request for knowledge of their intent by affirming their wish to have, if nothing else, nuclear arsenal removed from any ensuing conflict. The rest of their remarks boild down from diplomatic double speak and religious giberish to mean that Monsteria isn't concerened if war breaks out, just so long as the rest of the Earth doesn't have to deal with nuclear winter because of it.

OOC: I'm back, sorry about my absences.

IC: The deleates where led by there greeters, verious Austian Princes and Princesses, out of the VIP room and into a row of long modified Jaguars with darkened windows. They where then driven thorough the empty city street, which had been coundened off for security reasons. The inhabitants of the tall skyscrapers stayed intdoors.

They passed the Assasins Guild, the Merchant house and the old quater, once again going by the senic route, before they drove beside the city wall for a mile and a half before they reached the gates to the Imperial palace.

Protected by the finest defences Aust could construct it was a formidable sight. rambarts of basalt, guns sticking out from every concevable angle, the meter thick steel doors swinging open slowly to allow the cars entry.

They proceeded up the long gravel drive that led towards the palace itself, which towered into the nights sky above them. Church Street was passed with it's lines of embassys and the royal gardens before they where led into the building itself.

Itside there was a wide foyey decorated with japanise style arcutecture, it was slightly warmed inside, though not much. Soon afterwards they where led to there rooms and where told that the nagotiations would begin tomorrow.

OOC:Sorry for poor post, I only got off the ferry 3 hours ago!

Murdock stepped into the palace and took a quick look around.

Murdock: Well, this looks like a fine place to negotiate. What do you think boys?

Requiem: Should be fine, I'll need to see the rrom where we'll be negotiating.

Centenial: Well, it certainly looks defensible. Not my personal favorite choice of decor, but definitely better than it could have been.

Murdock and his guards walked into the chambers where the negotiations would take place.

Requiem: Very nice. This will either be the best room ever for negotiating or a bloody death trap if something goes wrong.

Murdock: Must you be so pessimistic?

Requiem: I was speaking frankly sir.

Murdock: Well, I can't say I disagree with you, but lets try to stay positive, atleast until we start negotiations.

ODST: yessir.

The great hall would be where the nagotiations would take place. it's high roofed hall began 3 stories above ground level and the roof finsihed on the 6th floor. The gaping gothic arcutecture, built after Austs first contact with Europe in the middle ages, was dark and gloomy but William had had the hall well lit so that shadows played in the confines.

A long oken table ran the length of the hall, with drinks and food upon it along with memos and agendas. William sat in the Golden Throne at it's head, waiting for the delegates to arrive.

Sacred Emperor Lucifer sat down at the large table, watching the other delegates file in. Motioning to an aide, he asked quietly, "Go back to the plane and get me a bottle of The Macallan whiskey. Try not to let it freeze solid." Turning back to the table, he tapped his fingers on its surface, waiting for the process to begin.

President Conway stepped off of the plane into the freezing Austian temperatures. He looked around as one of his bodyguards handed him a coat. There was noone there to greet him. The president shivered: not too much snow back in Cheeser12. "So much for a warm welcome." One of his bodyguards chuckled. "Good pun, sir." Conway grinned. "I don't pay you to suck up. Just make sure I don't go home in a box, alright?" The bodyguard saluted. "Yes sir!"

Conway made his way into the building where the talks would be held, still shivering somewhat from the cold. He wasn't there for the blockade dicussion as much as the original attack by supposedly Generian vessels. He wanted to get to a peaceful resolution with no more casulties, no more shots fired.

But the blockade was important too. Someone had dropped bombs on the blockade, before the peace talks. That, for sure, was NOT going to help come to a peaceful resolution. In fact, it could cause a war. An all-out war between many powerful nations was definately not good news.

Conway arrived at the table where the talks would be held. It was pretty much empty, save the emperor of Aust and his gold throne, and the delegate from The Warmaster. "Looks like I'm a bit early." He took a seat and waited for the talks to begin.

Murdock, after getting situated in his accomidations. Meaning placing his suitcase on the table and watching with a somewhat annoyed eye as Centenial set up his M-95S sniper rifle in a room off the bed room. Staying with these guards all the time was starting to wear on his nerves. However they atleast made good conversation partners most of the time. Unlike some of the Secret Service agents that took care of his security on less obvious trips. He then, under escort from Requiem, made his way to the negotiation chambers, Deal Closer; loaded in its holster under his armpit. When he arrived there were only a few delegates seated at the table. He and Requiem sat down and waited for the rest of the delegates to arrive.

IC: Bhalk and his entourage strode into the hall and nodded their heads a couple times. Bhalk took his seat alongside Varus' right side. Bhalk then glanced to his right to see an empty Freudian chair, "Not here yet."

"I don't believe we've met yet. As I'm sure you know, I'm Bhalk; emperor of Borman."

Bhalk released his left hand which was tightly wrapped around the dagger hanging under his clothes.

"Because I wasn't about to kill you." His eyes quickly went from side to side. "No, but in all seriousness. As long as Wirraway stands we shall help and defend it, and prevent it from falling. Now let's sit and have some drink and cigars.

Striding to the table, he poured out a generous helping of the strong liquor for himself, Bhalk, and Varus, and passed the glasses down the table. Leaning back in his chair, he propped his feet up, brought his glass to his lips, and drained it in a gulp. Just as Villian was nearing his seat, the aid walking by his side stopped, and mumbled something into his sleeve. He listened for a second, then grabbed President Villian's sleeve. "Sir!" he whispered. "What is it now?" Villian said quietly, but in a displeased voice. He whispered something into the Presidents ear.

"Holy fuck!" Villian screamed outloud, "They did WHAT?!" He them stopped and looked around, seeing eyes looking at him all around the room. He cleared his throat, and give some orders to the aid, who then ran out of the room to end the orders in.

As he sat down, he said, "Sorry. We're having a..." he cleared his throat again, "a rebellion back home."

A moment later, Villian's aid entered the room. Upon reaching Villian, he whispered some more to him. Villian stood up, shaking his head. "Gentlemen... we must continue this later one. The rebels (OOC: see Ex-President Villone Leads Rebellion in ViZion (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=443894&page=1&pp=15)) have just attacked one of our major cities. Thousands are presumed dead. I must go now." With that, President Villian rushed out of the door with his aid.

Within moments, he was on his plane. However, trajedy struck once again. Before the plane could even get airborn while taking off, the plane exploded. A thunderous boom followed up a flash of light. You could have sworn it was a missile that caused it judging by the sound - and for good reason. (OOC: I'm leaving it at that for the moment, another post coming soon... and don't hate me for adding twists... it makes the normal boring peace talks more interesting... :))

First, Maybury. Now, Villian. This time, just after he walked out of a peace meeting.

ViZion is preparing to send out multiple teams to find out what happened to the flight carrying the late Villian. Suspicious has arrose, as this happened due to the fact Villian walked out on peace talks, and no help is being permitted by the parties involved in the peace talks.

However, one of ViZion's top ranked diplomats are preparing to head to Aust. He will have two guards, and he, himself, will be armed as well during the entire 'peace' talks.

ViZion is very weary at this time, being that there is a rebellion back home, and in less than a week, two of its Presidents have been murdered.

Official Imperial Statement-

The Empire, noting the recent developments in ViZion and a degree of turmoil within her own borders, is regretful to inform the world community and the nations currently involved in peace negotiations in Aust that she will be forced to withdraw her envoys from the negotiations for the sake of their own security. However, the Empire will continue to respect the ceasefire and will not make any aggressive actions until provoked by hostile forces. Noting the actions of terrorist and secessionist groups over the past few months and the prospect of their involvement in more recent activities, the Empire will not be quick to lay blame on any national governments without thorough investigation, however we wish it be known that this is not to be taken as a sign of weakness, for we will remain vigilant to the utmost until matters are officially resolved. We hope to continue negotiations via electronic communication from safe within our own borders.

As the ViZionarian teams begin clammering over the destruction of the B-747 President Villian was on during the time of the explosion, one startling discovery was made. Requiem: Centenial, why didn't you alert us this guy was coming?
Centenial: I figured that since they'd already lost two delegates in wasn't worth mentioning, odds are he'll get whacked if he so much as fidgets the way this is looking.
Requiem: True, so how's life up in the room?

OOC: I'M BACK! Sorry.

The Sacred Emperor finally leaned forward to engage the ViZionarian delegate at last. "I think the solution is rather simple here. ViZion, in the humble opinion of the Imperium and no doubt of the other representatives of the CAD, is guilty of aggression against the Generic Empire. Isn't that what started this whole war? True, it kicked up a notch when GUffingford blockaded the Mediterranean, but the blame for its very existence belongs to ViZion."
imported_ViZion
01-10-2005, 06:34
Tod was relieved to finally here someone speak. However, after hearing what Warmaster's Emperor had to say, he was clearly not satisfied.

"As we all know, there were ViZionarian aircraft flying outside of Generic Empire's boarders, ready to fire upon the enemy should Generia launch an attack upon ViZion or her allies as our intel told us would happen. Some mechanical failure caused one of the aircraft, which carried a nuclear warhead, to crash, in effect causing a nuclear blast which ViZion had not ordered unless a nuclear launch was targetting ViZion or any of our allies.

"We did not, as you seem to wish to claim, 'attack' Generia. A simple failure, which could have happened with any of your own aircrafts, caused the nuclear blast. Those aircraft that where flying around were not offensive, as has been claimed, but rather retaliatory forces."
The Warmaster

Lucifer looked politely incredulous at the ViZionarian's statements. "Whether or not it could have happened to any nation's aircraft is completely irrelevant. The fact that it DID happen to your nation's aircraft, on the other hand, is very relevant. The incident would not have claimed so many lives if you had not sent military aircraft on a preemptive strike against the Generic Empire. Therefore the blame is yours."

Tod was clearly not impressed that those he was suppose to make peace with were trying to turn the story around to fit them better. "Once again, I must reiterate that they were there purely for retaliatory strikes in the event that Generia did launch an attack upon ViZion, as was expected. These aircrafts were not sent there on an offensive mission to launch at attack upon Generia unless we, our selves, were attacked here. That is not preemptive. You know that, I know that, and everyone else here knows that. You just seem to want to twist the truth. I am not pleased with that.

"Look, the fact of the matter is, they were there incase Generia launched an attack upon us. They would then be there for a first strike to retaliate. It also sent a message to Generia that we were serious about this, and that we would not tolerate an attack, as expected.

"Yes, what happened was terrible, and our hearts go out to those who were killed or injured, as well as those who lost their homes, family, and friends. However, we did not cause an error to happen that, in effect, caused the aircraft to crash, and the nuclear devise to go off. We did not say, 'Oh, hey, lets crash one of our planes!' No. Stop trying to twist this into something it is not."

The member of the delegation that had been 'accidentally left behind' stumbled out of the bathroom after having awoken from his hangover. After having listened to the conversation he sat himself down at the old seat of his delegation and took it upon himself to argue it.

"The fact is sir, we all know you had absolutely no evidence that Generia was planning to attack you, you didn't even bother to fabricate some evidence. The nation of Generia was at the same lack of mobilization they had been maintaining for years. Generia was at war with no one and, like us, was purely dedicated to improving diplomatic relations with nations of the world. Then this entire situation occured. CAD nations including Generia were worried of a serious threat and were quick to mobilize to stand against this threat. I believe several CAD nations, including Borman, announced they would stand alongside you in facing this un-named threat, so long as it was not allied or just an excuse for you to attack someone you didn't like. Which it became both for us.

You acted on non-existant evidence made up in your head and lied to your nation and your allies as you drew your plans against Generia and dubbed them a threat to your safety. When this plane malfunctioned the nuclear missile went off, which as we all know means it was armed, and no doubt ready to be launched upon un-suspecting Generian peoples.

Any and all nations have the right to defend what they perceive to be a threat, so long as their is some indication of a threat. You sending planes with armed nuclear missiles to circle Generia and be ready to retaliate against an invasion we all knew would not come is not defense, that is blatant unjustified offensive actions. And when oen of these planes detonated and revealed that they were carrying armed nuclear missiles it became apparent to all nations, especially Generia, that these planes were a threat to Generian safety. And thusly Generia acted within it's rights to safeguard it's people and nation from this nuclear threat you posed.

Also, contrary to what you would like us to believe all nations here and in the world knows they were there pre-emptively, and not to safeguard your nation.

The blame is clearly yours. As to wheather Generia makes demands or not, I do not know, if I was them I would no doubt make demands, however despite our unification I can not talk for them."

The face on the monitor with the live feed to Borman sat dumb-founded. Murdock sat up and shuffled the papers he had infront of him, once the room was calm enough he began speaking in the slightly cold, methodical voice that so often peeked through his gnerally stoic manner.

Murdock: Okay, so lets see what we've got here... The ViZionarian government decided to station bombers outside Generian airspace, acting on some form of false intelligence that seems to have magically landed in the laps of their intelligence community. After one of their aircraft went down and its weapon detonated, indicating that the weapons had to be armed, Generian forces reacted to a clear threat to their national security. In this case that led to the ViZionarian force unloading on many civilian targets with little or no tactical value.
So, I must ask the ViZionarian delegate what his nation would have done in the exact same circumstances, which I might add, were that there had been a public message sent naming nations you considered a threat, and a mobilization on a scale unseen in the past few years. Then a strike force was stationed carrying armed nuclear weapons within striking distance of a nation which was so blatently being threatened. One of those aircraft goes down and its weapon detonates, what does your military do? Do they sit by saying, "Golly, I hope they don't attack us." like a bunch of idiots, or do they say, "Hey! There's someone camping outside of our waters with armed nuclear weapons, we should deal with this threat now." I am willing to bet that your men would choose the latter, therefore it is your nation which is at fault, not Generia or any of her allies.

Murdock sat back and waited for a response, fully expecting a long winded response highlighting the supposed intelligence that the ViZionarians had recieved and how they didn't shoot first.

Meanwhile Requiem remained leaned against the pillar, his integrated thermal enhanced vision system active so that every person in the room was covered by a light thermal aura. He could see that the ViZionarian delegate was particularly stressed from the fact that his thermal "aura" was almost totally orange or red, with the core of his body being white. Meanwhile Murdock seemed to be totally calm, his thermal "aura" read as no different than when he went to a particularly mundane function. Watching for any sign of danger he remained vigilant, sweeping the room looking for any sign that something was amiss.

Tod waited until both delegates finished their speaches before replying to them.

"Intelligence is not always going to be 100% correct. Our intellence, however, is almost always accurate. Thus, we are not going to sit around after our intelligence agency, IIAV, relayed us information of a threat forming on a horizon that included Generia as a prime offender.

"Yes, we may have over-reacted, and the government realized that after the downed aircraft incident. However, at the time, our government and the military felt it a necesity to set up a reactionary force outside Generia should any attack happen. We are sure if you got wind of an attack by a number of nations, your nation would just as well prepare to retaliate, and make it clear that you would be doing so. That is exactly what we were doing - sending our aircraft outside Generia to send a message that we would not tolerate any attack upon ViZion, and should Generia attack, we were react immediately upon Generia.

"As for the aircrafts retaliation after Generian military forces engaged them, records show almost all of the missiles were not locked on, but rather shot towards Generic Empire's landmass not having much time to lock on to anything. They were, however, ordered to lock onto military targets in range should they come under attack or should they be forced to retaliate. Unfortunately, most of them did not do that, so they fired all that they could towards land."

"Yes, I can see what you mean. Our military tends to be a bit edgy at times though, and rather quick to react. We are re-working our responses now due to what has happened. President Delain, himself a General in the past, even agrees that the reaction the military took was out of step of what should have happened. That is all going to change now.

OOC: Yeah, that would be good. I think a lot of people are pretty busy at the moment, so this needs to cool off.
