With this new information, The fact he was going to give them to the Jihad, I have declared War on the Terrorist Supporting state.

They were loaded with Low Yield nuclear weapons, in case Leafanistan's Ground-based retaliatory nukes were disabled.

The nation sprang into action upon hearing the declaration of war. The extensive ABM systems were activated: Leafanistani-made Microwave LASER missile defense turrets, ABM-laser-equipped satellites, Patriot ABM missile batteries. It was even being considering to send a telegram to Kaukolastan, founder of the Directorate, to warn him of this war and activate MADAE, although that would be a drastic measure, and one that would be a last-ditch effort.

The Halberdgardian First Naval Expeditionary Force (HFNEF) was assembling its final loads of supplies, munitions, and weapons. It was not quite a full-fledged invasion force, as it lacked the manpower in soldiers to mount a full-scale invasion of Rovonia, but was instead intended to pave the way for a later invasion. The HFNEF was ready to leave port, and soon, they had steamed off, to the declarations of luck and good-byes from the crowd of supporters that had assembled at the docks.

After they were out to sea, the submarines split off from the rest of the force, moving ahead to secure advance positions in Rovonian waters. One of the subs, D.R.H. Intruder had secretly undergone more than a billion dollars' worth of modifications to convert it into a spy sub, capable of fighting like a conventional sub, but also able to perform a number of clandestine operations, such as launching reconnaissance UAVs, launching UUVs and Navy SEAL raiding craft, and tapping underwater fiber-optic cables. The Intruder was particularly interesting in the last of those three tasks, and would proceed to do so as soon as it reached Rovonian waters. Completely unbeknownst to the Rovonians, any communications between them and GJ cells over the Internet, which had to go through that fiber-optic cable, would most likely be intercepted and decrypted.

Soldiers were undergoing training and equipping across Halberdgardia. A force of 250,000 men was estimated to be used for the invasion, although that number would be subject to change as time went on and the situation developed. 108 upgraded Watson-class Ro/Ro transport craft were being serviced in preparation for a future invasion.

The war machine was gearing up.

It will take a few more days for legislation to be written up for an official declaration of war if the Imperial Parliment believes this is a matter for the Holy Empire to get into.

OOC: Just like in real life people declare war (ie Iraq) under false premises. However the threat of terrorism overrides the chance that it could be wrong. Would you rather sit back and watch the mushroom clouds on your nation's cities or strike first? Besides connection to Global Jihad, a group charged with the deaths of 25 million + people in multiple nations is reason enough. They are harboring their leader.

ooc: I've never been attacked by terrorists (although I had plans to do a good terrorist RP once), instead terrorists have been a useful tool for me under the motto 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend'(that is exactly what Rovonia thinks). I believe I once gave one organization 30 billion and lots of weapons.
FYI, I only accept a terrorist attack if it is properly done(I must admit that there are few good terrorist RPs).

Furthermore, I have seen Rovonia in action but ICly(using chemical weapons against Vintovia) my leaders see what they see and judge from that. If you want me to change my opinion ICly then you'll have to convince my leaders with evidence. I've seen many war threats, that doesnt mean much in our world.

Rovonia is a terrorist nation seeking war and disorder amoung Nationstates. We have noted that Rovonia is an ample provider of funding and weaponry for known terrorist organizations. They have used chemical weapons on Vintovia, an ally of Leafanistan. And the most horrifying detail is that our intelligence has reported that Mesazoic has been tapped by Rovonia for nuclear weapons to send to a terrorist organization called "Global Jihad" with the aim of nuking several major cities in McKagan, Halberdgardia, Leafanistan, Space Union, Tannenmille, HailandKill, and Willink. Global Jihad's former leader (now in prison) executed a similar holocaust that resulted in the deaths of over 25 million in several nations. Now his brother seeks to repeat that mistake. We cannot let more innocents die. We must strike to prevent needless slaughter.

Because of the Republics involvment in the original Saharistan War, and our ongoing presence in a country a terrorist cell from Rovonia is trying to cause an insurgency in the Repubican Senate has voted to declare war on Rovonia. (OOC: this isn't dogpilling just because everyone else has, i've been involved with this dude since the original thread/war)

The following Naval Assets have been deployed:

4 Slash Class Aircraft Carriers (100 planes each)
10 Raptor Class Cruisers
4 Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers
9 Nemesis (Finished DD(X) ) Destroyers
5 Weiland Class Attack Submarines

Air assets will change from time to time, but at least 100 K12 Fighters and 100 Adams Class attack helicopters have been approved.

An Army of 300,000 men has been mobilized, while only 150,000 will go in during any initial attack.

Because of the sheer amount of time it will take to move these forces the submarine force has gone ahead of the rest of the fleet and will begin deploying Sierra Force units within 30 hours.

To conduct any bombardment the now formed coalition feels needed the RMAF has lauched 8 semi-orbital railgun vessels.

Rovonian Waters, 2321 Local Time

The modified Seawolf-class submarine D.R.H. Intruder had reached Rovonian waters. The rest of the HFNEF was still en route, and the other submarines were hanging off at a distance in case of discovery.

The Intruder was here to conduct clandestine ops in support of the HFNEF, and its first mission was to tap into the underwater fiber-optic cable or cables that provided Rovonia with its overseas data transmission capabilities. Any overseas transmissions to terrorist cells over these lines would most likely be intercepted and decrypted.

The Intruder slowed itself to a crawl now, having located the cable. Using four electric ducted propellers, which popped out of recesses when needed, it slowed to a near-stop, allowing for the dispatch of an unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) designed specifically for tapping underwater fiber-optic cables. It could be remote-controlled in an emergency, but mainly operated autonomously. The UUV jetted down the small distance from the sub's "wasp-waist" hangar to the cable, and extended some manipulators. Grasping a small piece of electronics with one manipulator, and splicing into the cable with another, it began its work. Some minutes later, it finished and returned to the hangar. The Intruder disappeared into the blackness.

The module now inserted into the fiber-optic cable was an ingeniously simple device: it mainly consisted of a high-speed processor, a miniaturized hard drive with tremendous storage capacity, and a miniaturized transmitter. Algorithms stored on the hard drive analyzed all data passing through the fiber-optic cable (and, in turn, the module itself), looking for data that fit pre-programmed criteria. If data met those criteria, it was copied to the hard drive at blinding speed by the processor. Data that did not fit the criteria would simply be allowed to pass through with no interference. Upon reaching a set amount of stored data, the hard drive routed its contents to the transmitter, which would tight-beam the data up to an HCIA satellite, disguised as a commercial telecom satellite. The satellite would then re-route the transmitted data back to HCIA headquarters, where it would be pored over by analysts. It would be difficult, but not impossible, for the Rovonians to detect the transmitter. It would take a lot of searching along the cable, and some delicate manipulation work, neither of which the Rovonians appeared to have, to get to the module. This was why the module was also equipped with a small chunk of C4, so it could be remotely detonated in case of discovery.

Now, the HCIA could monitor Rovonian transmissions to Global Jihad cells in Saharistan and Halberdgardia, giving the HCIA and HFBI a tremendous edge in uncovering the insurgents wherever they hid and stopping them before they could carry out their attacks.

"Sir, we've got another sub up ahead. It's more advanced than anything the ragheads have." and Ops Officer spoke up.

"A few moments ago it placed a tap on an underwater cable, we should do that too, by the way."

"Ok, slow us down to 15 knots and drop the UUV out, bring it back and let me know when that's done." the young woman commanding the Weiland-class sub said.

"Once we're close enough to land launch a UAV too, we're going to do a flyover of the Rovonian defense network."

"Aye sir." the Ops officer said in it's gender neutral form before walking off the bridge.

The Leafanistani Sub's had previously placed similar wire taps on the lines moved to rejoin the fleet patrolling Saharistani waters. Logs have been forged to show they were always with that fleet.

The captain of the HFS National smilied as he finished faking the logs and muttered to himself "Good ole plausible denability."

The Holy Empire is still debating weather to enter this conflict or not. A vote is due any moment within the Imperial parliment. If we do choose to join up in this conflict, we will need someone to loan us 2 or 3 aircraft carriers to bring our aircraft, land vehicles, and marines. This is due to our current Navy being redeployed to an unspecified area for another conflict. The following bill is in the proposal stage. It will go before the enirity of the Parlimentary Body if and when there is a two-thirds majority vote.

A Sierra Force team on the deck of an amphibious assault ship prepare for a mission against the heart of the terrorist cell they've been fighting for the last few months.

IC: The HFNEF had finally reached Rovonia -- but instead of finding an enemy, they found a battered but welcoming populace. News hit the fleet that the Rovonians had turned on their erstwhile Global Jihad allies, and had unfortunately paid dearly for it. Omar al Zarqawi had fled the country, but not before personally killing the Rovonian Cabinet, and using hidden chemical weapons to kill over 18 million civilians. Onboard an Amphibious assault ship in the region a large transport helicopter with 30 soldiers lifts off and heads over towards the border region in an effort to capture the fleeing terrorist who has all but declared war against the Republics way of life.

Leafanistan's Constitution allows for Republics to secede if both their Senators approve, all of the Republic's Council approves and at least 3/4ths of the people approve. Seeing as the Governor welcomes Leafanistan and there is no other form of government (is there?) its up to the people now. I will implement such a vote.

Additionally, Portuguese was an inspiration for our new nickname for Frieden. HFBI Cracks Terrorist Cells

WASHINGTON, D.C.--An official at the HFBI today revealed that HFBI agents, acting on HCIA intelligence, cracked more than a dozen major Global Jihad cells in Halberdgardia, arresting 90 suspected and known terrorists.

Newly arrived freighters carrying large shipping containers unload revealing construction equipment and large amounts of military equipment. Soon, on the border between Wasser and Rovonia electric fencing is being put up with checkpoints at major roads every 20 miles or so. Leafanistani Marines patrol the area as C-130s land at major airfields and drop off more Marines. 80 megaton is not only overkill, I would also like to see the device that will launch it, I dont think that will get past my defenses, or any defenses for that matter. Anyway, you can do whatever you want, but kknow that launching those weapons will only makes things worse.
