OOC: Okay, this is now the proper IC thread. NO OOC stuff in here, put it in the other thread from now on found at http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=432405.
A brief overview of the other thread.
Gronde invades a GE system within the heart of the Empire... Imperial forces respond almost instantly swarming down upon him like ants to sugar. Gronde is fighting for his life, and scellia is curently entering his gates in the centre of the system.
GE forces are attacking along side Mentallinauts. Neo Mekanta is preparing to enter the war, along with whoever else.

The Huntarian Fleet has arrived within GE space (in record time) with the Aphotic in the lead. No doubt if they were late Darth Aelikes would kill all of the captains and first officers of each and every ship participating in the battle from rage.
Aelikes stood, looking out of the Aphotic's bridge's windows. He could see Unified Sith's fleet on the other end.
"Contact the Admiral of the GE fleet. Tell him I request an audience. I'll be in my chambers awaiting the message."

A Battlegroup prepared to exit TrueSpace, but, as they did, the FTLi inhibitor blocked their entry into the system. Although equipped with powerful weaponry, shielding, and the best the entire nation had to offer of any kind, it would take time to reinforce the AoN troops.
This was a turning point for the Galactic Empire, it would seem. If the AoN fleet was obliterated here, there would be nothing stopping them moving through Chronosia and subjugating Hyperspatial Travel.
Out of the 12 active Battlegroups, the standard for any low-level military alert, two had been sent. One was attempting to jump out of TrueSpace at the other side of the system, so the fleet could take the Galactic Empire forces by surprise.
However, they hadn't counted on the FTLi. Hopefully, they should still be able to approach within a decent time, or contact the Grondean forces for permission to approach through the Warp Gate. Luckily, if these two groups couldn't find an entry point, there were two more on standby, and these two could return home.
One group tried just that.
Encoded Message to Gronde Fleet: "We are coming to assist you, and request permission to enter Warp Gate. If that is not possible, then we shall send our military aid back to where it is also needed. Admiral Piette out"

You may enter through the non-AoN portal located on the Warp Currents. I did not know that Gronde had dealings with you, so do not be put off if we are a little distrusting for the time being. We appreciate any help that you can offer.

The collective knew where their loyalties stood. AoN's invasion of their beloved empire would not be tolerated, and the collective knew what had to be done.
Transmitted on all frequencies throughout subspace, was the collective's resignation from the AoN.
The collective acted fast bringing to bear the 1st and 4th assimilation fleets to full ready status. Both fleets would be lead by fully individual queens. There would be no lack of creativity in this operation. There would be NO failure.
The queen leading the 1st, who simply calls herself Simone, sat down in the chamber of OMEGA that served as the central hub for the collective in that area. She peered out into the holo-cube and considered the actions possible. She eventually came to the conclusion that by sending her half of the task-force now she'll let the enemy think that it's the whole fleet. Finally she sent the transmission on Unified Sith's military net.
"This is Military queen 000432 of the Borg Collective of Blackgrue. The impending invasion effects all GE nations, we offer our assistance and request co-ordinates for immediate gating in of our forces."

OOC: Right now my forces are moving through Grondes little bit of annexed territory. Chronosia is about to engage, and the Anagonian war fleet is waiting in an inter dimensional state.
IC: The Imperial fleet was slowly moving through the system, which was once ignored and left alone by the Empire, classified as a category F system, it was only to be used in the eventuality of great turmoil’s and wars, in essence, it was an Imperial waste dump where things were sent that the Empire didn’t want. But the Empire did want something from this system, they wanted Gronde.
Admiral Pael was in command of the fleet while Blathe was retired and it was up to him to begin the blockade of the Gronde war fleet. Ever since the Empire learned of inter dimensional possibilities the Imperial Navy had decided to refrain from using that slippery route of technologies, and instead, had someone else do it for them… Anagonia.
The Empires battle plan was simple but yet complicated, it had to be, given the timeframe they were working on. On one plane you had the bulk of the Imperial forces, strong and determined, while lurking beneath the guise of space you had the Anagonian war hound awaiting their signal….
The problem with keeping an inter-dimensional portal held open is that almost anyone can send communications in, or communications out….
“Anagonian fleet, you may begin.” Was the lone signal transmitted from the Imperial cruisers. Thanks to the multitude of faster than light inhibitors the signal would regrettably take several minutes to reach its location, the troubles of battles in space….. But after those seven minutes, Gronde would find itself remarkable cut off….
Anagaonian Cruiser –Deaths Hand
Anagonian fleet, you may begin…. “Well here we have it.” Admiral Gel^ser said with some particular glee. “We have their frequency and dimensional resonance, we can begin our blockade.”
In the depths of inter dimensional travel the Anagonian fleet slowly altered their engines, the frequency pulling them down to the necessary plane of existence, kindly provided by Imperial sensor arrays and the multitudes of ships that were moving into the system. “Are we to attack Admiral?” His first officer replied slightly wary?
“No no, we are here only to keep them from escaping, I believe the emperor has something special planned….”
Pael ordered the fleet to remain stationary half way into the system, the Chronosians were more than a match for Gronde, and the Empire was waiting for, for some assistance…..
Most Secret – Allies and members of the Galactic Empire.
Admiral Blathe is issuing the following request to all ships within distance, be it dimensional or not. The Empire is in need of methods to remove a faster than light inhibitor field raised by enemy infiltrators into our Galaxy.
The Empire is also requesting that all allies and enemies of the Alliance of Nations proceeds to system P3X ZZ1 (cordinates enclosed). We ask that all vessels sympathetic or allies to the Imperial cause do the following. 1) Destroy Inter-dimensional gateways providing enemy presence with supply routes and reinforcements.
2) Remove enemy Faster than light inhibitor field, preventing superior Imperial numbers from removing Gronde presence quickly.
3) Assist in the destruction of all forces belonging to the rebel faction that has been classified Gronde.
The Galactic Empire will financially compensate all parties for any losses sustained.
The Galactic Empire would also like to thank the nations of Jordaxia, Mentallinauts, Neo Mekanta, and Central Facehuggeria for their pledged support.

Outside the Warp Gate...
The Scellian fleet lies motionless, watching the steady stream of enemy forces into the system. No one had, as of yet, tried to use the Warp Gate to enter the system however if they did they would regret the desicion. The information about enemy fleet movement was being transmitted by Gronde into the Gate, and the Scellian forces would know the time to strike. They waited patiently for the chance that fate was sure to provide for them, they waited for the fools who were sure to come.

ooc> US: so are you trying to get between the 4th planet and the astroid field? You weren't that clear in your post. Since that is the only way you could cut me off from the gates, I will assume so.
ic> The astroid field between the Chronosian forces and the 4th planet, and the gateways, were alive with activity. The manpower and machines toiled tirelessly to prepare their complex array of defences before the Chronosian counter attack reached them. They had to hurry. Though the Gronde forces outmatched the Chronosian forces ship to ship, they were vastly outnumbered. The 6 Gronde Naval Groups in the system came to about 350 capital ships. The vaste fleet comming towards them was about 2,000. They were dealing with a 6-1 ratio on that front alone. Gronde's forces were getting desperate. But the more desperate they became, the more resorcefull they became. High Marshal Nicholai Sacolov arrived in that region of the system to oversee it personally. The Chronosians would have to fight for every inch.
On the other side of the AoN pocket, 2 armed Orbital bases, 4 Centurion Gunnery stations, and one Obsidian Class Super-fortress were left to protect the gates at all costs. If they were taken or destroyed, the ability for ships and supplies to arrive in, and leave from, the system would be gone; victory would be compromised. A large grouping of Unified Sith ships were already moving in from a different side of the system to cut them off from the Astroid belt at a 90 degree angle. Admiral Alexander had already allowed US to take back a portion of anexed space back, they had made it to the astroid field on their respective side. They could engage the enemy in as soon as 30 minutes; they were ready. They would declare victory or die with honor.
ooc> US: How many ships do you have in your fleet?
OOC: Um, just so we're clear here, what does AoN stand for and where could one find information on Gronde? I'd kinda like to know what I'm jumping into.
IC:
The Readanian fleet had recieved the transmissions from Admiral Blathe. Grand Admiral Alexander Liadon, commander of the offensive forces and son of the Readanian Emperor, ordered the fleet to prepare to jump to those coordinates.
"Grand Admiral, sir, the fleet is ready for to travel to the disignated coordinates." stated Cheif Comm Officer Daron, "Though we have little knowledge of this Galaxy, our navigators estimate there is a 85% chance of success if we attempt to take a series of smaller jumps to the battlefield."
"What are the chances if we try go with our initial plans for one jump?" asked Alexander."
"If we try to take one jump we have a 40% chance of merely surviving."
"We may have little time before the battle is over, but we will be of little help if we jump into a star." pondered the Admiral, "Inform the fleet of the coordinates of the first jump. We will take the safer way there."
OOC: in other words: They'll get there...eventually...and help a small bit.

The Vote had been close. While the first vote had been called quite quickly in support for gronde, Ygger had called for a second vote in polotics for a call of assistance to the AoN. The problem was, he had called a full council. It had taken a day to get the nessersary Lords and Warlords, and the vote had just scrached through. The Tsurani would aid the AoN with this war, for better or for worse.
Sadly, the War party was not in great shape. While its troops where well seasoned, it was smaller then it had been for the last few years. Now an actual war was imminent, there had been a number of withdrawals, most noticably in the Blue Flower Partys withdrawal. Now Stephen was gathering what forces he could, for the new war.

"Ithtaru-tahkaryaran!"
Lord Ithtaru toth Nha'ktol didn't bother turning to the a young soldier saluting nervously behind him, completely unphased. "{To speak. To leave. To not? To die.}" The aristocratic commander of the Fourth Armada slowly sipped from the ornate bowl he held in his hands, his eyes closed the entire time. "{To have of orders to come of Leader?}"
"Tza-to!" The soldier nodded. "{To move. Of allies} Galactic Empire {to assist.}"
"{To strike. To kill. To die. To win.}" A smile slowly spread across Ithtaru's face as he set down the bowl. "{To know. To send of Darkships twenty three. To have word of status, confirm?}"
"Tza-to. {To know space-break-traveling barriers to be erected. To trouble?}"
"Tza'kya. {To be unhindered. To move. To strike. To victory-make.}" He stood from his chair and turned, eerie white eyes locked on the soldier. "{To fail not.}"
"Tz- Tza'to!"

===En Route to Engagement Zone
"Claw Leader Marhis reports his talons are all ready to sortie."
"Claw Leader Danicca is good to launch."
"Claw Leader Eneeri requires more time to ready their loadouts."
Katoshyaran ("Middle Leader" - Captain) Okryanis smirked as he listened to his Tsthathi crew giving each other status reports. Despite the Non-Mekantans being for the most part genetically Human, the soldiers under the Mekantan officer and his bretheren were quite skilled at what they did.
"Rejumping in at the FTLi zone in six point two Terran minutes. Ready all FTLf systems for linear jump. Engagement zone contact within eight Terran minutes. All units prepare for General FTLi Break."
"All Tactical Armors standing by. Gunnery control, Barrier control, and Point Defence control ready." One of the Tsthathi turned to Okryanis, nodding. "Battle plan, Okryanis-katoshyaran?"
"Hmph." Okryanis leaned back in his command throne, closing his eyes. "The 'Weapon of Feran Sorrow' will switch all power to FTLf systems and create a big enough hole in the enemy FTLi to bring in reinforcements. Four other ships are being assigned exclusively to cover them. {Ships of-} sorry, the remaining eighteen ships will remain nearby and harass the enemy with extended-range fire until we can con some of our allies into covering the 'Feran Sorrow' from attack."
"Brilliant!"
"... Stop sucking up or I'll rip your tak'assh head off."
==Imperial System P3X ZZ1
There was a faint red flash as the Neo-Mekantan warships tore into space just beyond the FTLi fields, twenty-one of the fearsome Darkships in a protective formation around the First of the Fourth and Feran Sorrow.
A single transmission to the GE-allied forces came from the First of the Fourth as the ships seemed to blur out of existance. A set of coordinates indicating a spherical zone just outside of the bulk of the fighting and a simple message repeated in several languages. "FTLI BREAK INITIATED - REINFORCEMENTS NEEDED - REQUIRE HEAVY DEFENSIVE SUPPORT"
Any sensors watching the area would have noted a considerable mass displacement hop at several times the speed of light to the center of the coordinates before the Neo-Mekantan ships unblurred back into sight. A single Darkship seemed to power down save a crimson energy barrier around it, the others patrolling like sharks as the Feran Sorrow projected all of it's weapons and propulsion power into it's Faster-Than-Light-Facilitator system.
More faint flashes of red, tiny in comparison to the Neo-Mekantan ships, appeared around the Darkships as their compliments of Tactical Armor aerospace units were jumped into patrols.
On the bridge of the lead ship, Okryanis smirked, muttering the short prayer most Mekantan captains recited before battle. "{To die of battle. Of Empire/Nation to serve. To be of warrior, to live of warrior, to die of warrior. To have fear not, to fight of soul. To know of strength. To be at peace.}"
-OOC-
Summary:
23 Neo-Mekantan Darkships have been dispatched to the battle. They punched through the FTLi by using narrow-field FTLf systems and accelerating within them to move in lines to their position. One ship is projecting a sizable FTLf field to allow for reinforcements, noticable only as a hole in the FTLi.
There are also 2,200 Tactical Armors, kind of a mix of a fighter and mecha patrolling around the zone.
They'll lash out at any enemy who comes to close, and anything not allied that tries to jump through will be targetted by twenty-two Neo-Mekantan warships armed to the teeth and hardly happy to see them.
I'll get my NSWiki page updated with all the technical information tomarrow if I can find time to.

OOC: Oh, crap. Neo-Mekanta. Men, prepare the tentacle shield!
IC: With the Realm falling apart around the government's ears, the Battlegroup planned to aid Gronde had been recalled, and was now on active duty, attempting to stem the tide of rebellion.
The Chronosian war was wavering, in favour of the Realm, but what good was victory when you went home to a burning wreck. A curt message was transmitted to Gronde, worded in the shortest possible terms.
"Unfortunately, we cannot aid you, due to internal problems. Nonetheless, we wish you good luck in your endeavours."

Winter Kay heard the order going out, it had been fast from the Empire.
Protect the Mekentan ships at all costs.
He nodded, before his orders ran across the deck. Ships entered Hyperspace and exited in protective formation around the Mekentans. Messages where sent, Psykicly and Via Hologram. They where mearly there to protect. TIE Defenders launched, ready for combat.
ooc> Hehe. Neo-Mekanta: you just made a huge mistake. :D BTW, fighting hasn't actually broken out yet.
ic> Admiral Alexander detected the hole in the FTLi as soon as it was made.
"Interesting," Alexander said quickly. "I though we were the only ones able to break our FTLi."
"It's no matter anyways," assured his intel officer. "We can run prodicol 4Q."
"Ah, yes. Do it quickly," ordered the Admiral.
It was a two step process. First, seeing as how the FTLi in that area was down, several thousand Anti-matter mines were teleported in to that location. Some would teleport directly into ships, some not. Either way, the explosive power of the anti-matter would do quite some damage.
The second step was for a spere of highly compresed energy to be teleported in. The spere was exactly the same size as the gap in the FTLi field. Once teleported in, it would explode outward, most likely turning anything left from the mines into their componant atoms.
Admiral Alexander just sat on his command deck with a smile. He hoped the enemy would have even more clever ideas...

Admiral Pael waited for the tell tale flash of the Makentan battle force, the energy readings causing a large spike upon the readout console. “Well they’re finally here.” Pael said with a little relief. “Have they begun to interrupt the Faster than light inhibitor field?” A few moments later and his second in command gave a slight nod, the inhibitor field was indeed broken, reinforcements could now be swarmed in from the Coreworlds, but sadly he and his fleet would be trapped until they moved into the FTL corridor upon conventional drives. “Very well, begin phase two.” Pael said with indifference, he really hated such actions, why couldn’t people just accept that the Empire was here, and it was here to stay!
A few officers followed the Admirals command with a sharp “Yes sir.” Before continuing with their duties.
Within his flagship Admiral Pael patiently waited for everything in the fleet to be completed. Crewmen were running from console to console insuring that the tractor emitters had sufficient power. Throughout the fleet many men would be doing the same, over and over again. “Do we have enough power yet?” Pael asked, wondering where Admiral Blathe was?
“We can begin to create the Gravity wells Admiral, we estimate that the fleet can launch three hundred within the first hour, accelerating in number after then.” Pael smiled, it seemed that the academy pays off. This particular tactic was used by Grand Admiral Thrawn many years ago, it almost destroyed the rebellion, removed it, now if only he had enough cloaking generators, and the time to install them, well he had enough for one, he would make sure it’s the big one, looking out the window he saw it pass his ship rather slowly, the craters showing scars of past attack.
“Very well, have the fleet move into position, and begin the operation as soon as everything is ready. Contact me if you have any problems.” Pael left the bridge leaving his more than apt first officer in command and proceeded to find Admiral Blathe.
The Imperial fleet however was forming up for its operation, the tractor emitters fully powered within the Star Destroyers and frigates would quickly exorcise their gravity cones upon the free floating rocks. Very quickly, almost instantly the intensity of the well would increase exponentially sending the desired object off in the direction of, oh lets say a certain enemy station and dimensional gates. Accelerated to 0.75c the asteroids would hurtle through the void, and thanks to the sensor disruption field that the Gronde forces have raised, they would find themselves very much in surprise.
Hurtling through space, tens of asteroids would converge upon the enemy forces, their stationary installations, their ships, their dimensional gates!
Meanwhile as the more conventional asteroids were being launched the Empire was hastily erecting cloaking generators on ASWP23, as soon as it was ready the asteroid would also be flung into the unsuspecting and unknowing Gronde forces.
One Hour after First Launch.
“Captain Stuell, we have finished installing the cloaking generators, ground crews leaving the asteroid surface immediately. Be prepared to initiate fleet manoeuvre Sigma five and gravity positioning.”
“Rodger that Exploration team, come on home.” Stuell said with some happiness. If Admirals Pael and Blathe were not fast they would miss the send off, which would be unfortunate, but Stuell did enjoy being in command, he definitely liked the chair, so much better than standing on tired feet all day, or night, depending when his duty shift was scheduled. “Helm, commence Sigma five and have us moved into position.” He suddenly barked. Forgetting about vital strategic operations was never smiled upon.
“Aye aye captain.” The Helmsman replied. At once the Empires forces moved around the vast asteroid that was ASWP23, it was almost half the size of the Death Star, and as such would put considerable strain on the tractor emitters, but if all ships assisted, well perhaps they could get faster than 0.75c. Slowly but surely the gravity well was generated, this time much faster than the previous attempts, however the strain on the emitters was considerable. Several ships had reported melt downs, with the capacitors and direct power coils being overloaded or depleted within the first few seconds, however Stuell continued, the Empire continued on its mission. Once this had been completed, the Imperial force was to continue firing asteroids until all enemy infrastructure was destroyed, and then, the Mekentans would reposition the FTL corridor for the Empire to join in the battle.
Imperial cloaking devices are truly magnificent pieces of work. Using a massive Gravitic spatial distortion field the Imperial Navy warps the fabric of space-time completely around an object, redirecting all electromagnetic radiation and matter around the cloaking field, rendering it, undetectable. This is most advantageous for throwing asteroids, but when actual ships use the system it becomes a little more difficult, considering the vessels cannot see outside cloaking field…
With the first phase of the operation successful Stuell was delighted when he saw the vast asteroid hurtle out of view towards the Gronde forces. Pressing a small button on his command pad, he personally activated the generators, and on cue, the asteroid shimmered out of existence.
OOC: I’ll be brief. Imperial forces are still in the region of the system affected by the FTLi’s.
They are flinging asteroids at Grondes stationary defensives and fleet concentrations.
The Cloaked Asteroid is heading towards the AON Network gate. The Empire has plans for the other one.
Imperial forces are not moving to engage the Gronde positions, they are continuing to throw asteroids at their enemy.
The Anagonian fleet is outside the Dimensional gate in subspace, preparing to blockade it. They have as of yet to detect any AON forces.

Jordaxia
22-07-2005, 19:18
It had been a few hours since the foreign fleet had departed Jordaxian space, and there was the message from their allies of circumstance to respond to. Apparently they were under threat from the AoN. Whilst ordinarily the Jordaxians would be hard pressed to make that kind of journey in a span which could affect the battle, they had been contacted by the Mobius guild, which offered incredibly fast travel – for a price. Reluctantly, the Eternal Empire had paid their fees; too much was at stake to let mere funds get in the way of matters. Aboard, again, the Wraths Blossom, admiral Daibai had just finished organising the vessels for their voyage. He had been advised by the guild not to think too loudly in the continuum, and this advice was distributed to the assorted crews by the ISIS battlenet. It was unknown how the continuum would affect ISIS, so she went into a warm shut-down until they had arrived. It wasn’t anticipated to be a lengthy journey, and indeed it wasn’t. The entire sensation was rather like moving through a tunnel. One moment, everything went absolutely black. The next, the stars returned in full force. They had arrived just outside the affected system, to better plan their advance. Unfortunately, there appeared to be sensor disruptors further inside the system.
ISIS, we are unable to receive any data from the system, correct? asked Daibai.
It appears to be the case. I am receiving no returns from active or passive scanners, and it is almost entirely certain that they have not left, or been destroyed. The scale of the infestation was deemed to be high. If there were remains of the enemy force, we would be able to detect them. We must assume, then, that they are jamming us.
I see. Most unfortunate. Order the vessels to advance, keeping their eyes open for any surprises. Ensure that they keep a safe distance from each other, but do not allow them to spread too thinly. Order the Hagar carriers to release their fighters to patrol an extended perimeter, a lightsecond on each extended edge. All vessels are to raise their eggshields, take nothing for granted, except for the knowledge that this is a trap of some kind. Open a conference channel to Queen Mutei. I seek to discuss our course with her.
Opening a channel, admiral.
Queen Mutei, this is the admiral. As you are aware, an extensive jamming network has been set up about this system. I have ordered a cautious advance into the system, our larger capital vessels forming a core. Standard procedure. Do you have any recommendations or alterations? Inquired Daibai.
Admiral, you know well that I leave matters of our space forces to you. Contact me when you have use of our armed forces, then I can advise you. Mutei said, drowsily, as if she had just been woken.
Ah, well that’s just it. I have full knowledge that there are enemy forces within the system; it is simply the matter of locating them. When that has been accomplished, I seek to board them. There is much important information to be gained from them. As such, your vessel may be placed in considerable risk. said Daibai, haltingly.
Risk is inherent in what we do. We are, after all, warriors. I will do what is required, as will my disciples. Simply tell us where they are, and we shall deal with them as we deal with all foes.
As you wish. I have nothing as of yet, I merely wished to inform you of your imminent position so that you may best prepare for it. Daibai cut the channel, and leaned back in his chair. ISIS carried out her instructions.
Inside the Hagar carriers, the flight decks were clogged with activity. Pilots clambered into their disc-shaped fighters, small maser turrets popping up from the top and bottom. Larger bombers were stored in racks at either side. Harsh lights shone down, the purple craft glistening underneath. Suddenly, the flight deck was cleared of activity. Claxon horns raged above the whine of the engines. The floor raised up, higher and higher, pushed into a recess in the ceiling. Darkness enveloped the ships, and the clang of an airlock sealing behind was all that could be heard. Moments later, wind howled and surged around them. Stars appeared in front of them as the wind whipped their craft. Their engines finally took the hint. Thrusting them into the air, they cruised out of the airlock door. To the left and the right of the pilots, identical craft done the same from the other two flight decks, surging out into space, to begin their patrol. Further off, even, in the distance, the other two Hagar carriers finished a similar task. Airlock doors shut, the process was about to be repeated. All the while, the Jordaxian armada bore down on the system with a menacing silence.

OOC: TAG. Gronde, I pray that more enemies go through that hole, if so, a tactic you mentioned today(technically yesterday) will pay itself off...
ic> Things seemed to be going according to plan at the command center near the Gates. Admiral Alexander was overseeing the arrival of a massive Ultamus Class Star Citadel, along with some other equipment, when he recieved an urgent message.
Several astroids had been detected. They were closing in on their position at an amazing speed. Alexander cursed to himself; due to their own sensor disruptors, they hadn't detected them until they were nearly upon their position. Luckily, mines had already been placed around the base. They were not desinged for astroids, but an explosing was still an explosion. With one command, they were activated. There was about 2,000 anti-matter mines in all. As the astroids closed in, the mines attached themselves to their bulk and detonated in huge anti-matter explosions. All that actually reached the command center and the surrounding instalations was an abnormal ammount of space dust and a few chunks of rock. Unfortunately, their mine field was gone and they would not be able to restock it any time soon.
ooc> US and I talked over AIM. I will reply to the cloaked astroid later because it was launched an hour after the others and we don't want to mess up the GTC.

"Brother-Captain!" The cry of a Marine echoed across the bridge as he went on one knee, subservient to the great armored Captain who stood upon the bridge.
"What is it, Marine?"
"My Lord; reports indicate that the enemy minefield has been destroyed; the Emperor commands that we forge ahead and crush the enemy."
"Ready all weapons, and prepare to engage..."
The immense cannons of the Imperium crackled with raw energy; the Immaterium seething about the eldritch weapons of Chaos itself; turbolazers and ion cannons readied; dorsal lances, missles and torpedoes were prepared for firing. The Imperium eagerly marched to war; and hell followed with it; for who else would lead the charge but the servants of the Dark Gods? They had been driven back by the Godulan trickery; but no longer; they were re-invigorated; restored...Ready; to fight and die for their Emperor.
"Sew confusion amongst their ranks" The cold hiss from Marcus De Drakan's lips chilled even his cruelest of advisors; this was a warp being in flesh; a great Daemon Lord; their Emperor..."Initiate graviton weapon bombardment, and then commence with conventional assault; I shall command." The immense main weapon of the Ecstacy of Slaanesh hissed and crackled in cold discharge; warming; ready to vomit forth countless waves of warp energy...To crush all before it.
The bombs hurtled forth towards the enemy lines; targetting vessels and defensive positions; even as tens of thousands of fighters and bombers vomitted forth from the bellies of the unholy vessels; their sheer numbers and zealous devotion terrifying. Men melded into their machines; minds merged with computers, sharpened to derive fiendish and erotic pleasure from each foe they dispatched, even as they themselves were torn asunder.
The first wave of Chronosia came forth; and sought to swallow all before it into the blackness of void.
ic> The first line was gone. The overwhelming power of Chronosia's assault had reduced the outer line of defencive stations to nothing. This was to be expected, and all of the outer structures were unmanned for that reason. The only ships that was lost was a lone patroll destroyer; it was blasted to bits as it tried to escape.
The real first line was reached shortly after. This one, however, was well armed and less obvious. It consisted of a few hundred thunderhawks and space marines with Anti-fighter weapons and missiles. They were stationed on various astroids in a line between the gates and the enemy. As the wave of Chronosian fighters approached their positions, the marines launched off salvos of missiles before jumping back in their respective thunderhawks and taking off. About 50 thunderhawks and their load of marines were shot down by enemy fighters as they attempted to withdraw.
Once the second line fell back, various Gronde task forces were performing hit-and-run attacks and other guerrilla warfare tactics in an attempt to slow the enemies advance. One particular task force was well worth noting. It was Captain Shryker's famed Death-Sting Squadron. The Death-Sting Squadron contained, arguably, the most feared pilotes in the Alliance of Naggaroth, and possibly the known universe.
"Wing-group Red's strike team, sound off!" Captain Shryker's voice boomed through the left launch bays of Death-Sting's heavily converted command Battle Barged. His command was followed by four different voices, each saying their names and "sir" down their line. "Alright, follow me."
"Yes, sir!' the 6 voices replied in unison. The Red group's strike team was the made up of one fighter pilote, a Lancer Pilot, and two bomber pilotes. Shryker's two Wing-mates were also following. They were nearly as good as he was. His left Wing was Isabella and his right Wing was Carlos. They both piloted Shining Spear fighters, just as Shryker did. (although Shryker's "baby" had many additions, modifications, and upgrades that his wing-mates didn't) They stood by their respective craft and awaited orders from their Captain.
"Alright, the battle has just begun. We are up against the forces of Chaos today," Shryker began. Carlos seemed the most exited. "We have located an enemy Light Cruiser, obviously a recon vessel, heading near our current position-" Carlos gestured that he wished to speek. "Yes, Carlos?"
"Man, if it's just a light cruiser," Carlos answered. "Why don't we just bring in the barge and blow the thing to bits?"
"The Gauntlet of Fire wont be able to get close enough without being detected," Shryker replied. After seeing Carlos's expression not changing, Shryker elaborated further. "...and if it detects us, the Barge would not be fast enough to catch it. With fighters and bombers, we can get close enough to the target to launch a supprise attack and take off before being intercepted by enemy forces."
"Whatever you say, boss," said Carlos. "So lets get this thing."
"Soon enough, Carlos," assured Shryker. "So as I was saying, this might as well be a warm up for you. Everyone knows the drill, the Shining spears and Lancers go in first to soften up the shields and engage any enemy fighters. The bombers come in after, and use their Harpoon torpedos to wipe the target from existance." There was a modest cheer and the team got in their fighters.
The small fighter group consisted of 4 Shining Spears, 1 Tactical Lancer, and 2 Tactical Bombers. They activated their specially equipped stealth/cloaking systems and stalked up close to their target: the Chronosian Light Cruiser. Shryker signalled the attack and the team surged in. The Shining Spears and the Lancer were the first to reach the target. The Lancer fired its partical cannons and gauss guns. The Shing Spears launchs Salvos of their Anti-matter missiles. All 5 craft continued past and circled around to check for enemy fighters. The 2 bombers came in right after and opened up with a devestating volly of Gauss powered Anti-matter torpedos. They were not the first shots fired, nor would they be the last, but they were important anyways.
The Ekardian fleet had just received the order to go to the P3X ZZ1 system. Several fleets had went to a gathering point and went into subspace at full speed to help their allies that were under attack. The Sith Lord Darth Bandon led the task force. They would arrive in the system in 3 hours, then the enemy would regret attacking the GE.

The Light cruiser's comms stations roared in protest and screamed in cries for help, but it was no good; the girth of it made it no match for the maneuverable fighters, even as its weapons blared in black defiance of the this fighter wing.
Aid is inbound, Hold on
Fighters streamed from the larger ships to head towards their distant course; a ship needed saving; an enemy to defeat, even as their own fleets laid down another blast of defiant and devestating fire. Yet they were already too late, too slow to save one of their own ships; as it was torn apart by the enemy fire; by these fighters that descended, ravenous like locusts...
The shields held off some of the fire, but the missles shredded it; perforating the hull, rending metal asunder as void and vaccuum rushed in to replace the artificial atmosphere; pulling crewmen into the void. Still firing, the ship sought to turn, to avoid the enemy fire, before another wave slammed into it; and it veered madly to one side; there was no hope...
Bursting into shimmering flame; warp drive and plasma reacotr overloading; an immense vortex tore from the heart of the dieing ship; the deathscream of each and every being upon it echoing through the void, paining the countless psykers among the fleet.
They would have vengence...
ic> The bombers pulled up in time to watch their target go up with a satisfying explosion. Shryker, Carlos, Isabela, the 4th Shining spear pilote: Smith, and the Lancer had looped around wide to search for nearby fighter patrolls. They hadn't encountered any. As they were about to head back to the bomber's position, Shryker detected trouble.
"About a hundred enemy fighters are approaching our position," Shryker informed the others. "Bombers, head back to the Battle Barge. The rest of us are too far out. We will need to shake off the enemy fighters before heading back, or else they will be able to locate the Barge." Two voices from the bombers confirmed his orders and they headed back.
"Hey boss," said Carlos, a little too exited. "Why are we runnin'? Why don't we just take 'em out? Backup from the Barge could be here soon enough to help us out!"
"It would be too risky," interjected Isabela, who had, up until now, remained silent. "We are trying to protect our command ship's position, not fax it to our enemies." Carlos attempted to protest but Shryker cut in over through com-link
"I agree with Isabela," he said.
"Yeah, you would..." muttered Carlos, perhaps not realizing his com reciever was still on.
"What was that?" demanded Shryker. Carlos denied saying anything, so Shryker continued, now speaking faster. "This isn't the time to to engage large enemy groupings. We are not prepared and do not have the support that we need. For now, we just need to shake these guys. All ready?"
"Right!" said all 4 other voices. The 5 of them changed their course subtly and headed, instead, at a 45 degree angle away from the Barge at top speed. Besides, Shryker though to himself. We may be able to send a few of them packing on our way out!
