Tulgary

Trepest, capital of the Tulgarian Catholicon, has this week declared that the Royal Tulgarian Navy is to re-arm with modern vessels, and that the coast is open to proposals from abroad. Sure that the Grand Duchy (AKA the Catholicon) can no longer depend upon its ancient coastal artillery forts and minefields to protect its little coastline and the two towns that cling to it, Archduke Felvarosh has conveyed internationally the wishes of the Chamber of Deputies.
The RTN hopes to acquire:
-Between four and eight fast-attack missile craft
*Must be highly modern in all aspects of design
*Should be fast
*Should have potential for upgrade some years down the line
*Must have good maintenance characteristics and...
*...should ideally be able to operate with a relatively small crew, through use of advanced automation et cetera
-Between one and three frigates and/or corvettes
*Should be designed for modern anti-submarine warfare
*Should have significant anti-surface-ship and viable anti-aircraft weapons/defences
*Should have relatively low running costs
*Should have good levels of automation and low complement
*Helicopter capacity is not a requirement but at least a limited facility to accomodate shore-based helicopters would be favourable
-Between one and three submarines
*Obviously must be none-nuclear in design
*Must be capable of anti-ship and anti-submarine warfare with torpedoes
*Must not be prohibitively expensive
*Should be able to lay mines
-Between two and five mine countermeasures vessels
*Must be fairly modern
*Must operate with small complement
*Must have fairly good maintenance characteristics
The Navy is also interested in investigating shore-based anti-ship missiles.
Tulgary is a nation of just five million souls, and has but one small length of coastline, and so the navy has no expectation of blue water capability or long-range deployment.
