Over the past six months, the Committee for State Security has been performing an in depth investigation on the former aristocracy of the former Republic of Romania. Understanding that this aristocracy may still have some sort of political foot-hold within the newly formed Romanian Soviet Socialist Republic; thus, it was the belief of the Politburo, that these ‘ex-bourgeois’ must be dealt with.
Re-education back into the working community seemed not to work with the certain ‘old money’ that was the Romanian aristocracy. The center for this unmoving bourgeois threat was the wealthy – and surprisingly Western – city of Constanta.

It appears, that even through Soviet control, Western influence had actually grown within the city, causing a growing threat of anti-communist dissent. Thus, an order cam directly from the Kremlin, issuing Executive Order 1-0-Alpha.
During the time of Stalin’s tyrannical control, certain Executive Orders were created in order to keep the Soviet Union secure from their Western ‘allies’ just in case an invasion from the newly formed ‘democracies’ within Eastern Germany and the American sphere of influence.
The orders were created as a way to immediately by-pass the support of the soviet people and the Party. The specific order of 1-0-Alpha was the code-named ‘execution order’. The order gave the Politburo almost dictatorial power over the military in order to commit a ‘class cleansing’ in this case. The order was given to the Red Army and KGB which were instructed to begin rounding up the remaining wealthy class in the Romanian SSR and their descendants.
Using files from the former ‘Red Romania’ era and files gathered by the KGB on the bourgeois class heredity, they traced up a list of at least 5,000 remaining wealthy men and women and their descendants and heirs. Using this list, the Red Army under authority and guidance of the KGB began to round up the civilians, all transporting them to the symbolic city of Constanta.
During this period, the military was also compiling a list of ‘non-corruptive workers’ in Constanta so that they can be evacuated and brought to the surrounding cities for re-placement and housing. Cutting off the city’s workers caused the massive harbor to completely shut down, stopping shipping to it immediately. Not only did maritime transportation cease, but once the evacuations occurred, so did all land and air travel to or from the city accept under authorization from the military.
It appeared as if last month (June) that there was ‘hope’ for the wealthy however. The ceasing of regional trading with the Ottoman Khaif and surrounding allies drew some attention causing satellite inspections to occur. However, due to the massive placement of populace within Constanta almost equaling the amount removed, almost no attention was drawn. The only thing out of the ordinary was the heightened military transports to the city, but that was dismissed at the fact that the Soviet Union has always been militaristic.

Zero-900 Hours. The city of Constanta was placed under marshal law and a strictly enforced, twenty-four hour curfew in place since July 5th. Food was dropped off at the Monday of every week, usually consisting of one liter of water and stale bread. If the bourgeoisie were lucky, perhaps some sort of protein.
Junta convoys ran through the streets at all hours of the day, everyday. Churches and religious areas of the city were immediately desecrated and burnt to the ground. But what was mostly the cause of stress for the captive citizens were the sounds of artillery fire in the distance. The sound of tank treads running across the already degraded roads.
The entire populaces of the doomed city were all wondering the same thing, “What was going to happen?” Not to mention the other questions of survival and faith. On the morning of July 17, 2005, that answer would come roaring down upon the doomed people.

Roughly around 7:30 am on the 17th of July, the Red Army were camped several miles outside of Constanta. Explosive charges and thermobaric ‘mounds’ (Large clusters of thermobaric explosives) were placed on every major intersection and near major structures. As the sun was rising in the sky, the explosive charges were detonated, sending plumes of smoke and clouds of deadly shrapnel into the surrounding buildings.
Structures on every corner collapsed, filling the streets with piles of debris and raging infernos. Just as the men, women, and children were awakened by the catastrophic eruptions, motor and artillery shells began to rain from the sky. These massive rounds pummeled the city of Constanta and its people into the earth.
Screams from the fleeing and dying bourgeoisie were heard all around the soldiers as they carried out their orders to completely eradicate the wealthy class of Romania, killing all opposition to communist control.
By mid-afternoon, soldiers were combing the city for survivors, who were promptly executed by a swift bullet through the face or back of the skull. Men carrying barrels of flammable fluid on their backs, filled the standing homes with more flames from the nozzles of their flame-throwers, causing even more homes and structures of collapse.
Rebar and concrete were scattered all across the streets of downtown. Shipping equipment lay in the loading areas of the harbor, igniting barrels of fluids which erupted, tossing debris and shrapnel about. Over all, once two days had passed, the survivors had been executed and left in the city while it continued to burn. The corpses that had been shot or killed by flame-thrower were carried off in trucks to known mass-graves from the former Romanian administration.
All things needed to be done in order to cover-up the mass murder were accomplished. The military knew they had probably drawn attention from the surrounding areas; most notably: Ottoman Khaif…

The flames could be seen for miles. News reports were flushing in declaring that the city of Constanta had suffered multiple terrorist bombings from an unknown cell. The reports were stating the massive amounts of explosives were what caused the fire. They were saying that due to an armed resistance held by terrorist factions within the city, they had to – unfortunately – bomb the city with artillery shells and gunfire. Not much more was told…
