Introduction

Hello and thank you for considering Iuthia for your business and cosmetic modification needs, in this brochure we will be taking a close look at some of Iuthia’s biggest Cybernetic, Biological and Pharmaceutical Corporations as well as further detailing the treatments and products on offer.

From the beginning of the Iuthian Data Revolution when the optical computer first made it’s debut, to Universal Omnitech’s first working set of Cybernetic eyes for general use in hospitals around the nation, Iuthia has seen a boom in so-called ‘Cyberware’ and even ‘Bioware’ with the help of Zvarinograd scientists. Now it’s commonplace in the Benevolent Dictatorship to have minor implants to help get an advantage in professional life, some even going that step further and getting cybernetic and/or biological cosmetic improvements to help them in their personal life. Whatever you finally chose to get here in Iuthia, we can assure you the best quality treatments.

The Top Players

On top of the cybernetic and biological modification industry, these corporations have ridden to the top and are now each reputed to be the top of their individual fields, each providing quality implants, modifications and options for the average citizen with a bit of cash.

Universal Omnitech – Universal Omnitech is the considered by many to be the top of the Cybernetic and Biological fields, providing high quality cybernetic products and a very wide range of possible improvements with their strong medical background. Universal Omnitech continues to hold highly lucrative contracts with the Iuthian Government on a joint venture to produce better medical technology for both the Iuthian army and the local hospitals themselves. The majority of their products are strongly biotechnology based and are most often found in hospitals around the nation. While they don’t provide a huge variety of options for cybernetic implants, they are considered to be of the highest quality for those products of which they specialise in, such as cybernetic eye and ear replacements and cybernetic limb replacements.

Ares Macrotechnology – Primarily a weapons corporation contracted by the Iuthian Government to produce weapons, Ares has expanded with great success into many other heavy industries as well as most recently cybernetic and biological research. The majority of their products in these fields have been limited to the Iuthian Army as enhancements for soldiers and vital personnel. However, like most military technologies, some of these advancements have trickled down the commercial level and are now available to the public. The majority of these products are limited to standard implants like datajacks and headware memory; however some of them, such as the reflex boost treatment, were originally military technologies which have now been permitted for civilian uses. Technologies such as the Smart Link system are still illegal outside of the Iuthian military as they have no benefit to civilian life.

Биологический Косметика – Originally founded by a Zvarinogradi citizen, Биологический Косметика roughly translated into Bioware Cosmetics, originally a small corporation dedicated to the biological modification of customers for the purpose of making them feel better about themselves and correcting chemical imbalances. Thanks to their success they have expanded to various cybernetic implants to further offer interesting and original modifications for the adventurous person looking for a new look. Elf Posing, one of the latest crazes going around Iuthia’s youth has provided Bioware Cosmetics with many additional customers looking to further help their obsession by donning a pair of elf ears for themselves. Some of the more adventurous trend setters have even gone as far as to modifying themselves to look more and more like animals they like, such as having fur or even horning implanted onto their bodies.

Cyberware:

In this age of optical computers, virtual reality systems and an internet by far advanced beyond anything our ancestors could have imagined it’s vital to many people in the business world to take advantage of the opportunities many of these implants provide, from the simple standard datajack to alphaware grade math sub processor units… each providing that extra boost in efficiency and capability. In this section we will better describe each possible implant and treatment available.

All cyberware available can be bought in both standard and alphaware grades, the difference mostly being the quality of the material used and the custom stylisation aviable with Alphaware. All cybernetic implants, with the exception of cyber limbs, do not require batteries anymore as they run on the natural neural bioelectricity that powers the flesh body.

Headware

Datajacks – The Datajack, perhaps one of the most important pieces of cyberware any young business person could ever need. Individually the datajack is a small optical plug implanted into your skull (usually behind the ear or on the side of the head) which is then connected to your brain so that you may directly interact with your computer without the need for a keyboard. With the Direct Neural Interface (DNI) modification it may also be used with any number of products providing they are equipped with DNI modifications; common examples being cars and personal notepads. Another advantage with the Datajack is the interconnectivity provided with other headware systems. Each Datajack can be connected to at least four other systems and act as a router between them.

Standard datajacks are usually no larger then a centimetre in diameter and are completely accepted in Iuthian society (as more then 25% of the population now have them). Alphaware quality datajacks are available more stylised towards the user but provide little in the way of advantage over standard datajacks and are much less likely to require maintenance.

Also available are induction datajacks which are implanted under the skin so they are no longer visible to the naked eye. However, in order to use induction datajacks the jack cable used to connect to the DNI requires a Magnetic Induction Adaptor so that the data may pass through the skin. Induction datajacks are available in both standard and alphaware versions.

Datajack: $4’000
Datajack (Alpha): $8’000

Induction Datajack: $6’000
Induction Datajack (Alpha): $12’000
Magnetic Induction Adaptor: $300

Chipjacks - A further specialised form of Datajack, the Chipjack provides the user with a port capable of accessing raw data stored on datasofts for use with other systems, most commonly used with an Image Link to view information directly playable from the datasoft into their eyes such as map information. The chipjack, like most other Cyberware can be connected to other devices for many uses, such as the phone to transmit data, or a Orientation System to better translate map information.

Many datasofts are available in Iuthia at this time, such as standard maps... however the chipjack can access and use most information stored on such chips which can be bought in re-writable formats and accessed normally providing the person has other cyberware in order to do view them.

Chipjack: $2'000
Chipjack (alpha): $4'000

Headware Memory – Similar to memory inside a computer, headware memory is an implanted version to store information on an implanted memory device which can be accessed through a datajack and connected to many other headware devices such as a headware phone to send information to others across the phone. Combined with eye systems such as a display link and image link you can view data stored in your headware memory such as map datasofts.

Typically headware memory comes in increments of 100mp storage capability, limited to 300mp for the time being due to safety reasons and size limitations.

Headware Memory (per 100mp): $30’000
Headware Memory (per 100mp, Alphaware): $60’000

Data Compactor - Through the use of advanced data-compression algorithms this accessory to headware memory increases the storage capacity by reducing the size of data up to 60% to be automatically uncompressed when needed. The process of decompression requires that the amount of time taken to upload the data is a little longer, however the additional storage capacity more then makes up for this lag.

Data Compactor: $50'000
Data Compactor (Alpha): $100'000

Router - Much like a datajack, the headware router is used to connect internal devices inside the head (and possibly even outside of the head) to one another so that they may exchange data. Due to the fact that datajacks also provide this function it is uncommon for users to install one unless they have so many devices implanted that the four spare slots the datajack provides isn't enough. Accessories on cybernetic eyes, eyes, headware and other cyberware do not take up any more then the original slot for the main peice of cyberware they are connected to, so in most cases routers are not needed unless you intend on having many different systems implanted. A router can have almost any number of dedicated ports though the standard is ten which is often more then enough. Any device connected into a datajack (or another router) can communicate with the router providing both router and datajack expends a slot connecting to one another.

Router: $2'000
Router (alpha): $4'000

Headware Phone – A cybernetically implanted phone with a Direct Neural Interface allowing the user to phone others without having to carry around a cumbersome phone around ever again. When used with headware memory it allows you to send and receive information into other connected devices, however without a Display Link or an Image Link the information cannot be directly viewed without being connected into an external device through a datajack, conversely it could be stored in headware memory for later viewing. The phone itself is capable of all the standard functions of a regular phone including fax.

Headware Phone: $7’000
Headware Phone (Alpha): $14’000

Cybernetic Eye Replacement – Originally intended for the blind, these cybernetic eyes automatically provide the user with 20/20 vision and many options for improvements and accessories. Each pair of eyes could be fashioned to look like your own eyes or they could be stylised to look however you would like them to, such as the eyes of a cat. Each pair of cybernetically enhanced eyes can be bought with up to four accessories in-built; additionally accessories would require additional surgery. All accessories automatically come in the same grade as the cybernetic eyes they are built into. Alphaware Eye Replacements are automatically stylised so the cosmetic alteration option is not needed.

Cybernetic Eye Replacement (Pair): $6’000
Cybernetic Eye Replacement (Pair, Alpha): $12’000

Cybernetic Eye Replacement (Individual): $3’500
Cybernetic Eye Replacement (Individual, Alpha): $7’500

Light Enhancement – Originally intended for military use, this first generation low light upgrade enhances light captured by the eyes so that you can see better in the dark, providing there is some degree of light to enhance in the first place. We advise that this enhancement is bought with flare compensation so that sudden changes in light do not damage the light sensitive cells or your vision. Flare compensation is a separate of light enhancement so it counts towards the limit of four subsystems.

Light Enhancement: $6’000
Light Enhancement (Alpha): $12’000

Flare Compensation: $4’000
Flare Compensation (Alpha): $8’000

Cosmetic Alteration – Instead of paying additionally for alphaware cybernetic eyes, you could simply have the standard set of cybernetic eyes altered to fit your preferred style. This alteration does not count towards the upper limit of subsystems.

Cosmetic Alteration (individual and pair): $1’000

Display Link – This accessory allows the users to view text-only data in their field of view (in the form of a small window) from their headware memory or any other information providing devices. Uses often include the ability to read text messages stored in a headware phone. Note that this enhancement can be bought for normal eyes as well as cybernetic eyes.

Display Link: $2'000
Display Link (Alpha): $4'000

Image Link – A advanced version of the display link, the image link allows a user to view images and even video stored or transmitted from other headware devices (or directly plugged into the users head via datajack). Note that this enhancement can be bought for normal eyes as well as cybernetic eyes.

Image Link: $3'200
Image Link (Alpha): $6'400

Cybernetic Camera – This accessory is a simple digital camera built into the cybernetic eye to properly record still images which can be stored into headware memory, transmitted over the phone or stored (or displayed) on an external device connected via datajack.

Cybernetic Camera: $10'000
Cybernetic Camera (Alpha): $20'000

Opticam – As an advanced version of the Cybernetic Camera, the Opticam is fully capable of recording moving images as viewed by the eyes in real time. Like the cybernetic camera the Opticam’s images can be recorded directly to headware memory or even sent across the headware phone to others.

Opticam: $40'000
Opticam (Alpha): $80'000

Vision Magnification – Limited vision magnification is available with this accessory, allowing the user to zoom in their vision to better see and read. Unlike those aviable to the military, this commercial modification has been limited to a time five magnification. The accessory is available in either electronic enhancement or optical enhancement, the former zooming on the image through electronic means of hi-resolution and the latter through means of optical lenses.

Electronic: $7'000
Electronic (Alpha): $14'000

Optical: $5'000
Optical (Alpha): $10'000

Eye Light System – This simple system provides a small narrow-beam light beam to be fired from your eyes to better see in the dark, much like a small torch in-built into your eyes. This system works well with Light Enhancement as it allows the users to see even in pitch black conditions.

Eye Light System: $2'400
Eye Light System (Alpha): $4'800

Cybernetic Ear Replacement – These cybernetic ears were originally introduced to replace ears lost or damaged beyond repair. While they cannot solve the problems of understanding language they do give the user fully functioning ears which look almost natural in their standard designs. The cybernetic ear replacements provide almost perfect hearing within normal human ranges and like cybernetic eye replacements they can take up to four additional accessories on board to improve they capabilities. All accessories automatically come in the same grade as the cybernetic ears they are built into. Alphaware Ear Replacements are automatically stylised so the cosmetic alteration option is not needed

Cybernetic Ear Replacement (Pair): $8'000
Cybernetic Ear Replacement (Pair, Alpha): $16'000

Cybernetic Ear Replacement (Individual): $4'500
Cybernetic Ear Replacement (Individual, Alpha): $9'000

Cosmetic Alteration – Instead of paying additionally for alphaware cybernetic ear, you could simply have the standard set of cybernetic ears altered to fit your preferred style. This alteration does not count towards the upper limit of subsystems.

Cosmetic Alteration (individual and pair): $1’000

Balance Augmentation – While the standard cybernetic ears provide all the normal balance standard human ears provide, this additional accessory provides the users with even an greater balance mechanism, which is often useful for those in professions which require balance such as entertainers.

Balance Augmentation: $28'000
Balance Augmentation (Alpha): $86'000

Hearing Amplification – This enhancement amplifies the hearing of the user across the entire hearing spectrum, allowing the user to hear sounds as though they were ten times as loud, modified to the users preference. Due to the nature of this device, we strongly advise the users to also buy the sound dampener enhancement.

Hearing Amplification: $7'000
Hearing Amplification (Alpha): $14'000

Sound Dampener – The sound dampener accessory is designed so that suddenly loud sounds are dampened so not to deafen the user. In addition to this the sound dampening system also protects against damaging frequencies.

Sound Dampener: $7'500
Sound Dampener (Alpha): $15'000

Recorder – The recorder accessory is simply a recording device built into the ears so that the user can record sounds and (providing they have the right implants or a datajack connected to an external device) play them back later. This implant has become rather popular with reporters from the media as well as those in the legal profession.

Recorder: $6'000
Recorder (Alpha): $12'000

Sound Filter – This accessory allows the user to select sounds to filter out from his hearing and listen specifically to the sounds they want to hear. This accessory is limited to a maximum of four sounds which can be filtered at any one time due to the internal computers processing power and physical limitations.

Sound Filter: $40'000
Sound Filter (Alpha): $80'000

Internal GPS – This global positioning system is implanted into the users head and collects information from numerous GPS satellites and cross references the data to provide co-ordinates accurate to within 2 metres of your location. Alone it provides you with co-ordinates of your location, but combined with map software and a image link you can use it better work out exactly where you stand in relation to everything else. Highly recomended for hikers.

Internal GPS: $4'000
Internal GPS (Alpha): $8'000

Orientation System - Often combined with the Internal GPS, the Orientatiion System is a mapping device designed to take data from GPS (externally patched in through a datajack or internally as part of another implant) and/or data from Mapsofts and construct a 3D map for the users to navigate with.

The image can be displayed through an image link or externally through a datajack into an imaging device. Provided data includes the users exact position and elevation relative to sea or ground level. Information from other GPS units can also be inputted to provide an additional location as well as provide details on the relative distance between both points. It is highly recomended that this device is used in conjuntion with an Internal GPS, Image Link and relative Mapsofts stored and accessed internally through a chipjack or memory or externally though a datajack.

Orientation System: $30'000
Orientation System (Alpha): $60'000

Math Sub-Processor Unit - As a back neural process this sub-processor handles much of the users mathematical work, enchancing math calculations and providing a side benefit of giving the users a accurate stop watch, alarm clock and chronometer.

Math SPU: $10'000
Math SPU (alpha): $20'000

Bodyware

Auto-Injector - Simply put, this implanted device automatically injects a pre-specified chemical into the body for medical perposes such as helping diabetics who need regular insulin doses. With a storage capacity of up to five doses this injector is often implanted just under the skin for each access and can be re-filled at the users convenience as well as allowing the device to be connected to a IV for constant dose should it be required. As expected this implant does not come with medication, which has to be bought seperately.

Auto-Injector: $4'000
Auto-Injector (alpha): $8'000

Balance Tail - This implanted tail is still highly uncommon in Iuthia as the need for such implants is rare, regardless of this fact some people, often in the entertainment business, have requested it more for the looks then anything else. This cybernetic tail provides the users with enchanced balance through the use of a computer controlled tail keeping the tail on the purefect centre of gravity. The main downside however is that the user will need to get specially made clothing to fit with their new implant, though few users complain about this fact as it only further underlines the reason they bought the tail in the first place.

Balance Tail (Alpha only): $40'000

Biomonitor System - One of the older systems available, the biomonitor systems available today are far more advanced then their original counter-parts. Capable of almost complete diagnosis the expert-system keeps an eye on the users health and provides the user with information on their condition at all times, warning of any dangerous problems which may arise. A secondary device, usually implanted on the lower arm under the skin displays this information so that it may be viewed by both the user and medical staff treating the user. This device can be further improved by connecting it to devices such as the headware phone so that it may call for assistance in a medical emergancy.

Biomonitor System: $14'000
Biomonitor System (Alpha): $28'000

Booster Reflexes - Originally prohibited by the government, this one time electro-chemical treatment has now been made available to general public at a much reduced affectiveness which has been deemed safe enough to allow. By making the bodies natural reflexes a small bit faster users can react faster to changing events, this treatement has been made popular by those who work in enviroments like the stock exchange where speed is of the essence.

Booster Reflexes: $30'000

Cyberlimbs

Cyberlimbs come in many shapes and sizes, from the cheeper more obvious models designed as a fast solution to a lost limit without much cost to a much more natural looking cybernetic limb which doesn't attract too much attention. All cyberlimbs can have all sorts of in-built devices, though natural looking limbs have less room available but are more socially acceptable to many. Most cyberlimbs are built to balance with other remaining limbs in speed and strength, though it is possible to have them much stronger, it isn't legal in most cases to do so before the limb becomes a weapon in the governments eyes.

Some sub-cultures have provided some interesting additional options to the range of cyberlimbs, such as the addition of retractable in-line roller skates on cybernetic feet and so called "Kid Stealth" Cyberlegs which are fashioned after the legs of four legged animals in order to provide an interesting change to running speeds, thanks to the improved stability provided there isn't a problem with falling over, though they are blatantly obvious to others and can be seen as very odd.

Obvious cybernetic arm: $100'000
Natural looking cybernetic arm: $150'000
Obvious cybernetic hand: $40'000
Natural looking cybernetic hand: $50'000

Obvious cybernetic leg: $100'000
Natural looking cybernetic leg: $150'000
Obvious cybernetic foot: $40'000
Natural looking cybernetic foot: $50'000
Cyberskates (pair only, for use with cyberfeet): $5'000

Kid Stealth Cybernetic Legs (pair only): $300'000

Cosmetic Cyberware:

Horns - Popular with various sub-cultures in Iuthia, implanted horns can take many shapes, from those of a ram to those of a rhino. Usually implanted in the skull or even into a crest of horns around the head, the cybernetic horn is designed to look natural (as natural as you can make a horn look on a human) and is structurally braced so that the user doesn't get heavily injured should they accidently strike another object.

Horns: $24'000

Fangs - Popular with goth cultures around the world, these implanted fangs are basically enlarged canines anchored for support. They are available in both ever present modals and retractable modals should work disaprove.

Fangs (normal): $10'000
Fangs (extendable): $16'000

OOC: Space Reserved for page two...

For the moment you are clear to inquire about this, but basically it's been a want of mine for some time to do something like this... however when I finally get this done it will be a rather RP intensive storefront like environment all done IC with various IC limitations...

I'll provide links to Iuthia's original data and technology revolution in case anyone thinks I just pulled this out of my ass... Iuthia has had cyberware for a while, I've just not really RPed it much, but it has been mentioned.

OOC: Kudos for using Shadowrun stuff!

OOC: Yeah, I love it... I've tried to change things where I can and it's all in my own language. So I've had to modify a few things and remember what is potentially legal and what wouldn't be legal in Iuthia. Converting stuff into dollars was a little annoying too as I'm going off memory on most of this stuff.

Still, it's about time I tried to do something like this.

OOC: Yay, completed the cyberware section, of course military-wise there is a very wide selection of much more interesting cyberware, but Iuthia makes a point of keeping that stuff to itself... that said, most soldiers simply will never be equipped with cyberware because of the cost it would take to arm everyone with Smart Link systems, improved vision, headware radios and reaction enchancements and all the useful posibilities which are reserved the the elite soldiers who need it.

Those possibilities can be inquired about by directly contacting the Iuthian Military/Iuthian Diplomatic Corps though it would likely be a waste of time if you aren't allied with Iuthia in some way or another as the Iuthian government is very touchy about who it arms and why...

Normal inquires as to how to get the domestic gear listed above are more a matter of IC contacting the company for a consultation... while I'll eventually cover when I finish this.

And yes, alot of this stuff is pretty much following from Shadowrun, but I've taken Iuthia into account and I've made a point of writing it all up personally with changes to represent the fact that NS isn't Shadowrun and Iuthia isn't a Shadowrun nation. I like it and even if I don't get RP with it I'll at least have reference material on it for others.
