Skibereen
Skibereen is a nation formed of Irish patriots seeking free self governing from all ties of the ancient English oppression. The nation entered a state of civil war approx. one hundred years ago. Only with in the last two decades was peace restored. Under the leadership of a warlord turned president named, Brian Boru. This is not his real name but is the name he took to lead his people with. Skibereen lost their beloved president during the Fyreheartian/Ferrussian conflict. President Boru being a soldier at heart was leading from the front when he was captured by a Ferrussian long range patrol inside Skibereenian borders. Boru survived while all but one of his personal guard were killed in the fight to protect him. It was left undetermined if he(Boru) himself was injured. Though according to the surviving guard, Boru was forcably disarmed, according to the witness he did not surrender easily. The various cities that dot the landscape of Skibereen are all large sprawling Metropolisis. Though this might at first seem a bad thing. It has allowed there to still be room for abundant country side. Much wilderness still abounds outside the city limits. The smallest city in Skibereen is O'Murchadha with a populace of only 15,000,000. While the sister cities Bender and Tiraspol have a combined populace of just over 15 times that amount. There are ofcourse small communities throughout Skibereen, but they remain spread out and sparse.
The countryside; Beauty and Danger.
The rural areas of Skibereen are the like any nation, The Backbone. The people work hard for what they have and in doing so create a strong infrastructure of agriculture, and whisky 'stilling'. A strange happening can be observed in the Skib countryside. The people can be noted as being very friendly to strangers yet at the same time deeply suspicious. It is very in the deep backwoods of Skibereen for tourists to simply disappear to never be seen again. Skibereen has an open door policy to refugees. As such many cultures have intermingled, creating a strange Gaelic/other mixture of traditions and pratices. Also in the deep backwoods(aswell as the cities though accounts vary) many of the old Warlord groups still exist and operate. Controlling Spirit production and enforcing what most refer to as "The Law of The Land."

DO to the years of turmoil in Skibereen, various paramilitary groups have formed(over nearly a century) in Skibereen. They are representitive of region or religion, or of the national origin of some of the refugee groups that have been in Skibereen awhile. The ruling Group "The Band of The RedHand" who now call them selves a 'Political Party' are and were the largest of the paramilitary groups. The formed in or about 1898, as a group of former Irish-Americans who had served in the American military and relocated to Skibereen to establish in a Gaelic nation. They are famous for their honorable conduct in battle, and their fanatical approach to military discipline. The former President Brian Boru was of the "RedHand". The acting President Thomas O'Donnelly is also of the "RedHand". Long time allies of the "RedHand" are: 'BlackEyes', 'The Dana', and 'The O'Murchadha Clan'. Though the 'RedHand' or 'The Band' as they are sometimes called are the largest. There were contenders for power, namely an organization called 'The Order' a which was formed apparently back in Ireland. A few preists who believed a return to the ways of the warrior monks of ancient Erin was needed for the protection of the people. They were all killed during a revolt, save for 3 of them who made it to Skibereen to reform 'The Order'. The 98% Catholic population of Skibereen shares their loyalty to the both 'The Order' and 'The Band of the RedHand'. Though most often these two groups clashed over control of much of Skibereen. New Dublin is the Capitol of Skibereen. Located centrally for strategic purposes as well as to make the leaders of the nation as accesible as possible to all the citizens of Skibereen. New Dublin is one the largest cities in Skibereen.
