Empire of Shinshouhen Opens Up Its Borders
For many hundreds of years, the Shinshouhen have kept their borders up from the rest of the world, in an attempt to stop corruption from entering its borders and possibly influencing the government and converting the beliefs and the general public of Shinshouhen (Shinshouhen is about 84,569 kmĀ² in size. The nation resides on a land mass that connected to the main land and so it is an island, with 3 other smaller islands on the southeastern regions, only making up for 5% of the nation's actual land mass). But since the world is vastly changing, with many nations striving for technological excellence, and knowing that eventually they would have to open their borders, either by force of an attack or other reasons, the borders are now open. The Shinshouhen government wishes to cooperate with neighboring nations, possible for trade, as well as learning about other cultures and languages. The language of the Shinshouhen is similar to Japanese and Korean, and scientists hypothesize that the language may be of Altaic origin. It is still unknown of the origins of the Shinshouhen people, and old folk tales can only tell a rough detail on what their past could of been like. They do, of course, have skills of masonry and iron work, having created swords, and other sorts of blades in the past, and possibly this could be a good commercial value for tourists who like authentic swords like an ancient times. The government of Shinshouhen is comprised of a head family, one who looks over the country as a spiritual and nation power. The family governs over in the capital that is known as Souhena, which is also where the other branch of government resides. This branch is comprised of Lords, which govern over the minor regions and clans of the Shinshouhen island, as well as a judicial branch, which watches over the laws, and crimes that are committed. The head family, which is similar, if not exactly, like a Monarch, does not interfere with the judicial branch, but more is a figure head for people to bow apon and listen to, as well as they have the power to sire lords, and positions in the lower branches. There is a golden rule though, if the head family does not perform well, they can be overthrown (Which is usually done by beheading the whole family), and thus a new family takes control of the throne. Much must be researched on the history of the eras and "dynasties" of the Shinshouhen people. The Shinshouhen landscape is heavilly forested, adobes and other buildings having a unique architecture, usually built from the nearby Red Terraf Trees, a very strong wood roughly three times stronger than oak. The southern edges, as well as the islands on the lower corner of the nation are of a tropical climate, and are home to the very much respected Red Wolf, a canine breed which has red fur, and its size is a little below "Dire" rank. The main crop of the Shinshouhen is a plant similar to rice, as well as a big abudance of fish, native birds, and other wild life. Because of the position of the island, Shinshouhen recieves moderate rain, as well as a nearly mansoon to the south, though most of the inner laying cities are to the north. Strangely, Tsunami's usually pass by the Shinshouhen island, due to the constant shifts in air pressure which disfavor the desired conditions. Kiento Mase, the name of the male leader of the Shinshouhen (Meaning Good Morning in their toung), finally spoke about what the nation plans to do.
"We, as a people, have stood united for many a year, with our swords true, outstretched from our heart, shedding blood, and feuding, as well as rebuilding and living together, but there is still so much to learn about the outside world, and if we continue to distance ourselves, we will be left behind in the ages. And so therefor, after many hundreds, and even thousands of years, I declare that our borders are open for trade, commerce, and other conditions I will state soon. Leaving our homeland though is prohibited and will be delt with extremely and harshly. I wish for us to become stronger, wiser, as we enter a new day and age. Keep trust in others, and trust in yourself, the song of the sword never lies. Never hit your sword be swung unsung, or you shall be swept away by the tide of time."
-Kiento Mase
The Shinshouhen's technology is similar to that of the middle ages, with no gun powder powered weapons, but bows, staves, swords, and other weapons. The Shinshouhen take great pride in their skill, and their heritage, and believe that matters, if they cannot be discussed, should be discussed between the swords. To them, a Sword has a soul of its own, and when two collash, they tell the tale of both the warriors. The one with the strongest bond between their sword shall rise, and the lesser shall fall. There is still alot that must be known about the Shinshouhen people, who seem to have a mixed descendance, their true background unknown. But still, they should be admired and listened to, because they have the spirit of the old world in them, and not the spirit of the fire power of the new world that is lived in today.
