Before the planet's destruction

Hirushimo was walking through Sibrik's buisy city streets as it is this is another city planet within Huntarian Space. There were hundred's of protestors shouting out in support of the Malkir resistance against the evil's of the Kirtir empire. Stormtroopers and Space Marines were lined up in a row, blocking the protestors from reaching the capital palace where Moff Durron stood inside the palace, looking out the windows at the protestors with ex-senator Grullia behind him.

Hirushimo ran around the gates, only to be blocked by the guards.

<Move along there citizen, you have no purpose here. Move along,> one of the guards ordered through the comlink.

Hirushimo was waiting for Grullia, his father and ex-senator from the Old Republic of Huntaer, one of the few still respected senators even from Moffs such as Durron. Little did Grullia or Hirushimo know, Grullia was about to be killed on orders.

"... So that's where we stand with the Malkir. I hope you can understand Moff Durron."

Moff Durron stood still, unmoved. "Of course we understand Senator Grullia. There is nothing wrong with aiding the Malkir. Guards!" Durron clapped his hands together. "Take him out of here. Then have him go out into the croud. Make sure the boy is there as well."
<Yes sir.>

"What are you doing Durron?"

"I've been ordered by the emperor himself to terminate [b]ALL[/b Malkir supporters. Take him away."

The guards then grabbed Grullia buy the arms, and dragged him out.
"YOU CAN'T DO THIS DURRON! THE PEOPLE WILL KNOW! THE MALKIR WILL KNOW!"

"You are hereby executed along with the rest of the citizens of Sibrik for treason agianst the Galactic Empire of Huntaer."

"TREASON MY ASS! YOUR EMPEROR BETRAYED THE REPUBLIC AND SOLD THE BEST SENATORS TO THE KIRTIR BEFORE HE BECAME A KIRTIR LORD!"

"Your anger is strong Grullia. You'd make a good warrior should you harness enough of it. Unfortunatly for you, that won't happen. Ready my ship."

OOC: Moff Durron, as in Kyp Durron?

OOC: Moff Durron, as in Kyp Durron?

OOC: I thought the name Durron sounded familiar... but no. not Kypt Durron (isn't it Kypt with a "T"?). I am a star wars/IoM based nation, but I tend to try to create my own names and not those of star wars (I keep some of 40k names because they're cool sounding). I keep the star wars ranking just because it makes sense to me.

IC:
Grullia continued to struggle as the guards dragged him down the 140 flights of steps out of the Palace door. "Let me go!" The guards threw him down, and out of one of the gates. The protesters tried to get through, but they were shot down by the two guards.

"DAD!" Hirushima ran to his father.

"Son, they're going to kill us."

"Who is dad? I don't understand."

"The government is going to kill us."

"Why?"

"Because.... Because they don't like the idea of loosing power. They don't want to see a rein of peace in the galaxy, or the universe for that matter.
The Kirtir may not be Sith, but... they are just as decisive and clever in the arts of politics. They fear the return of the Malkir. They know that something has happened which should not have happened."

"What is that dad?"

"*Sigh* I don't know son. But we need to find a transport, quickly."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moff Durron walked out of his palace chambers and to the palace's docking bays. "Guard."

<Yes sir?>

"Give this to the governor," it was a datapad.

<Yes sir.>

Durron climbed into his Lambda Shuttle and left the planet's surface and flew it to the Aphotic's hangar bay. The Aphotic sat in linear position with the planet, it's Axiel Laser faced directly to the planet.

Moff Durron was greated by Darth Aelikes. "Everything is in order my lord.
Sibrik is ready for it's destruction."

::Good Durron. Good. The Axiel Laser is ready for fireing position right now.::

"Sir, but there are countless civilians who support our government and not the Malkir. Can you destroy your supporters my lord? And not to mention all of our men and women in uniforms down below. And our clones. This would be a loss of military might for the Empire."

::Your predicessor made the mistake of... Suggesting a different root Moff Durron. Surely you're not going to make a similar suggestion?::

"No, my lord."

::The loss of life is necessary. Sibrik is a dying planet anyways and we're about to end it's pain. Prepair to fire the laser.::

OOC: It's Kyp Durron. "I'm Kyp. Kyp Durron" pg. 92 Jedi Search by Kevin J Anderson.

If this is not known to the people of the planet then is there civilian shipping in the area, like freighters etc. I have an idea, if you don't mind me jumping in this is the perfect oppertunity. How much in the way of escorts does the Aphotic have, and what type of (T)SSD is it?

OOC: It's the first and probably the last origonal Aphotic Class Star Destroyer huntaer created. The Aphotic is just by itself. Most smaller governemts or planetary systems would just surrender to it because of the giant cannon, weaponery systems, and fighters. Oh, and as of now, the emperor doesn't care about any type of civilian shipping. There is activity, but all of that will be destroyed when the laser is shot. I'm almost done here anyways.

IC:
Grullia and Hirushimo ran to the nearest transport they could find, but they have ran out of time. Grullia looked up to the sky, and saw a bright red laser beam fired at the planet's surfface and saw a huge dust of smoke.
The buildings colapsed, and more dust rised. Hirushimo tugged on his dad's robes just before the area they were standing in colapsed and the people fell down, down towards the planet's core.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Planet still stood, but the surface and atmosphere was destroyed.

"The planet is in ruins my lord. The only way to bring it back would be to use atmospheric processors."

::I want the whole planet destroyed. Fire the laser again.::

"Why must you incist on wasting resources my lord? To what end?"

::For intimidation Durron. Intimidation to the weak Malkir. They need to know that they can't hope to win a fight against the Empire.::

The laser fired again, this time destroying the entire planet.

"It's done then sir. The planet is destroyed."

::Yes, much less of a destraction now. Perhapse this will remind the people who the revolutionaries are dealing with.::

OOC: Both this and the other thread is part of my response to the Bounty Hunter Wars, this will become rapidly appearent in my next post there and the following ones here. This was inspired by the book Bacta War, where Rogue Squadron used identical tactics against the Lusankya.

Ten minutes before the destruction of Sibrik...

A large convoy of frieghters, ranging from YT-1300 sized to 700m interplanetary transports, had arrived from hyperspace and start to make their way toward the planet. Not wanting to interfere with the Imperial vessel they stayed well out of range on anything but heavy turbolasers or missiles, far beyond the range a missile could get a target lock.

The convoy was over an hour late, but with the activity of the ASSD in the system it wasn't noticed. The ships weren't from a reputable company, and local authorities on the companies home planet suspected but wasn't sure of the companies piratical connections. As the superlaser from the Aphotic fired again a fleet arrived, though what it hoped to accomplish was beyond any reasonable person. At the edge of the system an Interdictor Cruiser entered realspace, powering up its gravity well generators to trap the Aphotic within the Sibrik system.

Between the civilian ships, and a little above the Aphotic, two Imperator Mk II Star Destroyer reverted and began spewing fighters. The vast majority of these were TIE Defenders, but one squadron of B-Wings was also present. It appeared that the Mk II Star Destroyer had been modifies, a full 50% of its turbolaser complement and all its Ion cannons had been removed but it showed a 100% stronger shield and EW system. They opened fire, targeting sensors and shield generators on the Aphotic.

The TIE Defenders began swarming for the launch bays of the Aphotic, knowing that their mission was there, however the B-Wings moved in behind them. They would very soon enter torpedo range...

::An Imperator class. Rather poor judgement on their part.::

"Sir?"

::Just sit back and watch. Launch all fighters.::
The Pilots were ready to respond in seconds, just before the rather primative Tie Defenders roared toward the hangar bays. All 500 Tie Series Fighters followed by 100 Vampire Star Fighters and 100 Reliant Star Fighters towards the Tie Defenders and some odd B-Wings.

Tie Darts flew around consistantly, firing their lasers at the enemy where as the Poltergeists, Specters, Ghosts, and Phantom Mk II's cloaked and started their typical tactics.

OOC: The Proton torpedos I will mention are coming from the freighters, but the two SDs are putting out twice the normal interference and the fighters are screening them. I'll leave it up to you to decide how long it takes the Aphotic to figure out where the torpedos are coming from.

The TIE Defenders knew they were outnumbered but for the majority of the fighter, the TIEs, they had superior firepower. As the TIEs and other fighter poured from the Aphotic each each TIE/D targeted a TIE Fighter with a concussion missile and fired. They rapidly selected a second target and fire again, about 1/3 of the missile were targeting the same TIE, but about 200 TIE Fighters were targeted with one, two and sometimes three concussion missiles. The other types were ignored, the TIE/Ds trying to even out the numbers first and firepower edge next.

However the 132 TIE/D fighters were not the main show, the B-Wings were. As they hit targeting range they fired as a squadron, twenty four proton torpedos sped away at the huge SSD. An insignificant bite on the shields of the mighty behemoth, and seemingly pointless compared to the energy needed to bring the practically impenetrable shield down. As the twenty four torpedos approached more torpedos began appearing on the sensor scopes of startled Imperial Officers.

360 Proton torpedos flew in a perfectly timed wave right behind the 24 torpedos originally fired, the second larger wave would have an unbreakable target lock on the Aphotic by the time the first wave impacted. Though the Imperials didn't know it yet the torps had come from the freighters, explaining their hour long delay. During that hour each ship had been stripped of cargo and fitted with the largest amount of proton torpedo launchers it could hold, but without the sensor packages. That way there was no way to tell who had fired to torpedos besides to see them do it, and with the two Mk IIs between the freighters and the Aphotic it would be hard indeed to see them shoot. During the refit it turned out that each ship could hold an average of five launchers on a broadside, with some carrying just two and other with fifteen.

If a few seconds the B-Wings were ready to fire again, and so were the freighters. Another 144 proton torpedos headed toward the Aphotic, even a ship that size could take an unlimited number of proton torpedos. If the B-Wings could get in enough volleys they could destroy the Aphotic, but they were about to start running out of fighter cover.

OOC: I'll go look up how many proton torps it took to kill the Lusankya.

OOC: I've found it, unfortunately I'm stuck housesitting for my family. It took over 100 to reduce the Lusankya to 65% fighting compacity. However, the X-Wing series has always severally underestimated the power of capital class ships and I believe it would take over five times that much to do that sort of damage. Regardless I thought I remember the number being higher, and will go back and edit the post accordingly. On Sunday I will give page number and exact quote.

If it took over 100 torpetoes to reduce the Lusankya to only 65% fighting capacity, imagine how many torpetoes you'd need to take out the Aphotic.
It's shielding is even stronger than an Eclipse. It would probably take hundreds of thousands of torpetoes to take it out. Remember, this is a Super Command Ship (If I remember correctly, I marked the ASSD shielding around 800,000 SBD's).

According to your current information, it would take ~200 torpetoes(give or take a few) to destroy the Lusankya. Now, a SSD's shielding is practcally 100% more powerfull than those of the ISD's Mk 1-3. Your B-Wings can fire as many torpetoes as they want, but they aren't going to do much damage to a 21 km ship.

OOC: The Lusankya was 13km long, yours is only 8 km bigger. Results I found (http://www.swvisions.com/hcaps.htm), lists Lusankya as having 120000 SBD shields. Thus yours is ~7.5 stronger, thus would require around 500 to bring down the shield and another 700 to destroy, or something like that. This site (http://www.galacticempiredatabank.com/SSD.html) lists it at 96000 SBD and 13 km, making it take ~600 to bring the shields down and more ~800 to destory. However this site (http://www.hyperjump.net/swguides/sdguide/ssdstat.html) lists it at 8000m but still the same SBD strength. Here (http://www.hyperjump.net/thomasparis/swshipstats/heavycaps.html) it is listed at 13 km but given a strength of 240,000 SBDs thus making it only 500 to completely destroy the Aphotic. The site you use for your storefront (http://insd.swcombine.com/insd/ssd.htm) says that the ship is between 2500m and 17600m and between 6000 SBD and 96000 SBD.
