Special Forces

The Cottish Special Forces consists of three units.

Hærens Jegerkommando (Army Ranger Command)
Marinejegerkommandoen (Navy SEALs Command)
Air Force 57th Special Operations Wing

These units are all highly trained, and shrouded in mystery. The identities of the operatives are highly classified, and any revelation of said identities are stricken down with extreme force and zero-tolerance. This section of the review will only vaugely identify the structure of the organization and briefly go over available equipment (where applicable).

Hærens Jegerkommando (Army Ranger Command)

The Army Rangers are divided into four battalions, with thirty teams in each battalion. One team consists of ten men, all with more than 3 years experience and rank of corporal or higher. They are better trained than the average Cottish soldier, which is well trained, and have extended expertise in everything from weapons to electronics to medical training. In total, the Army Rangers consist of 1 200 soldiers. Each member of the Ranger Command is trained in, but not limited to, sabotage, parachuting, CQB, basic medicine, heavy weapons, communications and unarmed combat. The Rangers can also use helicopters for INFIL/EXFIL. For this purpose, the Imperial Cottish Army have sixty MH-60G Pawe Hawk, twenty-four MH-47F Chinook and twenty-four MH-53M Pave Low IV for the disposal of the Rangers.

Marinejegerkommandoen (Navy Marinejeger Command)

The Cottish Marinejegers are some of the best Spec.Ops. in the world. They operate on and under sea, land and in the air. The Cottish Marinejegers are divided into twenty teams of 12 men each, with an additional 300 sailors for support. They can also use specialized watercraft for transport and support. For this purpose, the Imperial Cottish Navy have a total of twelve Mark V Special Operations Crafts (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ship/mark_v.htm) for the disposal of the Marinejegers.

Air Force 57th Special Operations Wing

The Imperial Cottish Air Force's very own 57th SpecOps Wing is the wing responsible for the transport and maintenance of the other two special operations units. Though somewhat larger in size than the average Wing, the 57th utilize the equipment with great efficiency. Planes in service in this wing are

36 C-17A Globemaster IIIs
108 MC-130H Combat Talon IIs
60 MC-130P Combat Shadows

Any further information on the Cottish Special Operations units are classified information, and not privy to the public. Any attempts to obtain further information will bring the full fury of Cotland upon you.

National Guard

The National Guard is a reservist organization. Members have all been active in the military prior to their entry to the National Guard, and thus are theoretically as well trained as the active soldiers, albeit somewhat rusty. In times of war, they are to act as reserves for the active military. In the event of a natural disaster or other type of national emergency, the Governor of a province or the Emperor can call out the National Guard, in which case it will support the local government (IE police duty, assist in evacuation, etc). The National Guard numbers roughly twenty-nine million men and women. Their weapons consist mainly of old M16A2 and M4A1 rifles.
