"In an unexpected announcment, the Union government said that it had sent its first man into space early this morning. Allen Bladeton became the first unionaut to enter orbit around the earth. Using a retro-fitted ICBM bought from a foriegn government, Union scientists built a capsule big enough for a singal person and enough supplies for a 48 hour flight. Bladeton will return in in about 23 hours. This marks the begining of the space age for the Conservative Union.
In other news, political backlash to the law banning far-right parties has taken a new turn. Opposition leader Herald Burlington was arrested on tax evasion and treason at his home in East Bank this afternoon. This arrest came only hours after president Trakias called Burlington a 'traitor' for attempting to block the anti-radical laws in parliment. While the legality of this arrest is being sorted out, several nazi followers torched the regional governors home in the Western Province after he announced an end to nazi terror in that region."
