Aryana, capital city of Rovonia

Under the Presidential Palace, deep underground in the President's bunker, the Rovonian dictator, Voltan Doir, was about to meet with a delegation.

Very few Rovonian government officials knew anything about the identities of the delegation. Their only giveaway was their long white Islamic garb and their trimmed beards.

In the dictator's office sat the dictator himself, Voltan Doir, the head of the Rovonian International Intelligence Service (RIIS) and the delegation.

The delegation were all Saharistani's and were all members of the Islamic terrorist group known as Global Jihad.

The head of the Global Jihad delegation was none other than Omar al Zarqawi, the younger brother of the deposed Saharistani President, Musab al Zarqawi.

The Saharistan War Coalition will not stand idly by while al Zarqawi's brother attempts to bring fresh ruin to our now peaceful and stable state of the Coalition-run Saharistan. Under our leadership, Saharistan has been converted into a bustling prosperous nation, very unlike the previous dictatorship that stifled both its people and its economy. If any military front is moved against Saharistan, 200,000 Stormtroopers will be deployed to the Provincial Territory of Tannenmillian Saharistan in order to preserve its current government. At Leafanistan's request, Stormtroopers will also be sent to their portion of the country.

Occupied Saharistan

For the past few months, thousands of Saharistanis who lived in Rovonia, were going back to Saharistan.

They posed as either tourists or refugees wishing to return home after the now distant war in Saharistan was over.

However, under their flase ideneties, all provided for by the RIIS, they were Global Jihad operatives, coming into Saharistan by the hundreds.

Many more Global Jihad members were entering Saharistan through is borders, especially in the mountains, were it was easy for them to evade capture by Halbergardian/Willink/Leafanistan/McKagan (HWLM) occupation forces.

All Global Jihad members had been given high levels of training in Rovonia and were now returning home to fight.

Morever, Rovonia's own non-Saharistani muslim population were being recruited by the Rovonian government to fight for the Jihad in Saharistan and to liberate it from the HWLM infidel occupation forces.

As the Global Jihad fighters were now based at their given locations, the Jihad was about to begin.

Lets see your puny nation try to get rid of our presence there. Your nation will be crushed like a tiny bug that was meant to be crushed by a bigger but still tiny bug.

My second post gave the details of how the Global Jihad operatives got into Saharistan, posing as refugees and tourists, with fake IDs given to them by Rovonia.

THERE ARE NO ROVONIAN AGENTS OR PERSONNEL IN SAHARISTAN.

All Global Jihad operatives were trained IN Rovonia and they do have some sympathisers in Saharistan. These supporters in Saharistan do have some access to weapons for Global Jihad to use.

The rest of the weapons will come either from the rebels take from dead enemy forces or by secret supply routes on the black market or Rovonia.

I realize that you're new, but you honestly have to start outside and try to work in to Saharistan, and give us a chance to respond to your movements. We're going to realize that suddenly there's a surge of people into Saharistan, but as of yet you haven't given us a chance to do anything. You've pretty much held the attitude of "we're in, we have guns, we're takin' 'er back"

At most the start up has a few thousand terrorists, But to defeat the Saharistan War Coalition (SWC) the rebels are going to need 100,000s of fighters to kick you lot out.

look at RL Iraq, the resistance has 50,000 fighters yet they are still not near to kicking the US out.

Ah, hello then. Good luck getting into Tannenmillian Saharistan, as we have patrol towers every 100 metres with guards scanning along the borders and out into the bordering territories 24/7, and they easily overlap in line of sight. And since they're Stormtroopers their helmets give them infrared display. But if you roleplay it well, I'll let a few insurgents slip in.

23 Global Jihad (GJ) fighters were walking down a small ditch when they suddenly heard footsteeps.

They all stoped and ducked.

The lead fighter of the group gave the hand signal for the group to split, which they did in two groups of 10 and 13 respectivley.

The group of 10 fighters made their way up to higher ground and waited for the other group to make their move.

As the second group started to move, they saw a man peering over a large rock to their right. It was a Tannenmille soldier who then lifted up his gun and fired, unloading his magazine into the second group of GJ fighters. 3 GJ fighters fell to the ground dead. The rest were wounded and unable to escape.

A few seconds later, they were surrounded by Tannenmille soldiers. The other GJ group made good on their escape while the second group was gunned down and they now continued on their journey into Saharistan.

An hour or so had passed since their encounter with Tannenmille troops.

They now came across a watchtower and they could see that it was near impossible for them to get in.

They decided that some sort of diversion was needed.

One of the groups members put his bomb belt around his chest and prayed.

Then he got up and rand towards the tower and as he neared, Tannenmille soldiers took notice. But before they could raise their guns he pressed the detonator and blew himself up, causing the whole area to go up into an orange fireball.

The tower however still stood as the explosion was just too far to cause it's collapse. 2 GJ fighter opened machine gun fire at the top of the tower to take out the men stationed their while another fighter threw a grenade into the remaining Tannenmille soldiers on the ground.

After five minutes, all was quite and the GJ group only lost their bomber in his suicide blast.

They then continued into Saharistan.

We've basically handed security over to the Saharistani army/police, who we trained, so the majority of places you might want to hit (excluding the Halberdgardian bases themselves) are going to be guarded by Saharistanis, not Halberdgardians. It's basically the situation the U.S. would like to see in Iraq: the Iraqis handling the insurgency themselves, with only a minimal U.S. presence in the country.

The best way to do this is by introducing an alternative, one that is non-violent and pro-Western.

Ayad is predominantly Sufi Islam; Sufism is a much more accommodating philosophy, and one with a very rich and vibrant history. Of course, Sufi schools will require money, but we can provide that (with the help of generous donations from friendly Ayadi governments). By offering an alternative to Wahabism that is neither state-controlled (and thus despised), nor violent, nor anti-Western, and yet is still authentically Islamic, it is our belief that you can starve the rebel movement of (ideological) oxygen.

The Democratic Republic of Halberdgardia has nothing but the strongest condemnation for the cowardly terrorist attack on coalition forces in Saharistan. Well, just put it this way.

The Republican Navy uses Saharistan as a major facility, so if we pick up ships heading towards our coast we're going to search a few, and if we run across anything we'll start playing unrestricted UBOAT style actions with the 8 Weiland Class Subs in the area.

The RMAF has 50,000 people on the ground (the air force is basically what we're using in Saharistan.) Most of them are trained specifically to fight an insurgency or war on terror, and our K12's still escort planes in and out of our air space and patrol.

RMAF Security Personnel are constantly on alert on our borders with the other nations that are here with the coalition, so you aren't going to walk across our border without making it through several thousand rounds.

On top of that, if there is a full scale invasion from out to sea, we've got a tactical nuclear system in development to take out warships, and just about anything else a few ragheads could throw at us.

Futhermore, a vertical launch variant of the K12, the K12-A, has been developed and patrols randomly through valleys alongside the land based version of our Adams Class Attack Copter.

And just as a kicker, i've got an Amphibious assault prototype ship in our naval station loaded with a few hundred Marines.

I could also go Imperial and throw around my big economy if we find out where the terrorists are coming from and buy up any interior assets they have... then, I could stop their weapons flow with a UBOAT war...

Besides, a few terrorists that make it in on a plane aren't going to do much, and he isn't going to sneak a few hundred thousand jihad dudes past my Navy when we search any civilian ship in Saharistan's territorial waters... which means the lack of a fishing industry is a big asset!

Other then that, i've got a Marine base (think Area 51) deep in the nothern mountains.

Frankly, I WANT him to launch a full scale invasion.

OOC: Actually, the country of Saharistan doesn't even exist anymore. Run a search for it under The World section; nothing comes up. It got deleted due to inactivity, methinks, seeing as he started up new nations. I wonder how we're supposed to deal with that ICly? I suppose we'll just say each political district of the country is now the territory of the controlling coalition nation...which is what we were doing anyways. This will prove interesting, though, if somehow he manages to liberate the country. Maybe he'll have the mods resurrect it? Bah, I'm babbling now. I'm going to bed.

OOC: Seriously, Sahari...whatever get get get get over it. Hey! And thats enough from me on that line. You lost, its ok, but it won't go over well if you start something again. I've bought some new fighters, that make the stealth on a F-117 look like painting yourself blue in an urban environment. And they can annhiliate anything in the air. United Halberdgardian and Leafanistani railgun bombardments will glass the ground with the sheer amount of KE it releases.

You do realize we've got railgun tech, too, don't you?

One of my own little projects is a destroyer that can operate in shallow water, and it's got railguns as well as 127mm's. It's kinda a compliment to the Virginia Class sub.

17 GJ rebels were walking up one of the hills that cuts across the border into Saharistan. After reaching the top of the hill, they spotted a small Halberdgardian military checkpoint, one of the many Halberdgardian outposts that are located along the Saharistani border.

All 17 GJ rebels fell into their attack positions and after looking at the checkpoint, they saw at least 15 Helberdgardian troops at the checkpoint.

17 GJ rebels were walking up one of the hills that cuts across the border into Saharistan. After reaching the top of the hill, they spotted a small Halberdgardian military checkpoint, one of the many Halberdgardian outposts that are located along the Saharistani border.

All 17 GJ rebels fell into their attack positions and after looking at the checkpoint, they saw at least 15 Helberdgardian troops at the checkpoint.

They then recited their prayers and then attacked.

They open their machine guns and assualt rifles into the checkpoint and fired their RPG-7 rocket launchers onto the base.

Klaxon alarms screamed as the Global Jihad insurgents sprang their attack on the base. Soldiers across the base were seen rushing to combat the Global Jihad fighters, while officers barked out orders.

"We're under attack!"

"Secure the perimeter!"

"Incoming RPGs!"

One of the RPG rounds fired slammed into a bunker, blowing a hole in its side. Shrapnel screamed through the air, humming dementedly. Three soldiers were killed in that explosion, and five others were wounded by the shrapnel, two of them seriously.

The assault rifle fire, however, was rather less effective. As Halberdgardian troops in Saharistan had always been relatively well-equipped, and even more so now with the possibility of a new insurgency being high, their Model-G Infantry Armor (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=431020) stopped most of the incoming rounds. One soldier was killed when he took an unlucky shot to the face, but his comrades were able to mow down the insurgents with precise M-8 and M-29 fire. Most were killed, but a handful were wounded. Killing them would have been easy enough, but in a war against an insurgency, information was crucial. So the Halberdgardian soldiers refrained from shooting them, and instead disarmed them, checked them for suicide belts, and then restrained them with plasticuffs. They may not have had useful information, but at least they would be able to tell the interrogators something.

OOC: I'm not saying they have to reveal Rovonia's involvement, it would just be nice if, say, maybe one of them cracked a little, giving out just some minor information. As for RPing the situation, I think I'll say one of the prisoners got his cyanide pill past the guards, and swallowed it, so he's gone. Another of them attempted to commit suicide, but was caught, and is now on suicide watch. The third, though, I was thinking he could give us a little information, after some questioning, maybe even beating if he gets stubborn (unlike the U.S., in Halberdgardia, some forms of torture are authorized for use on particularly recalcitrant detainees). I was thinking the information would be his (real) name, the fact that he works for GJ, that they're stepping up operations in Saharistan to free it, and maybe even that there could be cells in Halberdgardia. He doesn't have to give out much, just something for our intelligence agencies to start investigating.

Occupied Saharistan-Halberdgardian sector

A few hours after the attack on the Halberdgardian checkpoint, the 27 GJ fighters were now deep inside Saharistani land and were heading for a small remote collection of villages in the hills, that Rovonian intelligence had observed as being an area where the local people would be sympathetic to GJ.

These villages had no Halberdgardian or infidel traitor Saharistani SWC 'troops' in them and were open for the GJ to walk in and get to work.

Over the next few days, the GJ agents held rallies, lectures and meetings with the local Saharistanis in the villages, to educate them on the evil nature of the infidel SWC occupation. This tactic was already paying off, as the GJ had recruited a further 38 people into it's ranks, thus makeing this GJ cell 65 strong.

Training and weapons duty was to follow for these new recruits.

If you cooperate with the questioning, you will not be harmed, and you may even be rewarded with a few perks we've come up with. If you refuse to cooperate, you will probably lose what few freedoms you have, and you will likely be harmed as well. And believe me, we've had time to refine our techniques on recalcitrant criminals back home.

"Now, we'll start off simple. Please state your true name and country of origin." The interrogator doubted this would actually work, but it was worth a shot.

OOC: Ummm...you could certainly RP an attempted coup, but you have to understand I'd never let you actually take over my country. Security around government members isn't exactly lax; it'd take a lot to overthrow the government. If you wanted to RP such a thing, it would be with the understanding that it couldn't succeed. Besides, aren't terrorist attacks in Saharistan and at home chaotic enough? ;)

Also, on the note of the domestic attacks you're planning, I'd say you'll probably only get one shot at a serious attack. After that, security's going to go through the roof, and it'll be damn near impossible to pull off anything, sort of like the U.S. after 9/11, and even up to now.

Three Imperator I-class Star Destroyers hung in the sky as many Lambda-class Shuttles and AT Barges streaked towards Terra, brining reinforcements to the Tannenmillian and Saharan militaries below. Eighteen of the thirty-six AT Barges deployed AT-AT walkers around major cites as the other eighteen worked to bring down a total of 30,000 troops -- the 52nd Terra Counterinsurgency Strike Force. In the three remote mountain villages, were the 27 GJ rebels had increased their ranks to 65 after their little recruitment drive amongst the local villagers, The GJ rebels began to move on, leaving the villages.

They had taken enough food and water along with medical supplies and a few weapons and ammo from the villages.

They now headed towards the caves deep in the ravines that scattered the mountain ranges in Saharistan.

The caves were a natural feature, but deep inside the caves were a series of inter-connected tunnels and rooms that were built by the old Zarqawi regime long before the 1st Saharistan War.

From the the 65 GJ rebels set up base, putting up communications and their laptops, their three expert hackers getting to work in disrupting the SWC computer systems and monitoring their data.

All children from age 4-16 are in military controlled schools, where they recieve combat training, and get the equivalent of schooling all the way through 2-year college. And you underestimate how cold and cruel the government can be. The Senate would bog down for weeks to make that decision, if it does occur.

The base was alive with activity. Not only had several thousand more men just came in, several Special Forces units had been either moved to or pass through the base in the last few days. The bases security was high. Due to a few tips from sources security personnel had already began to upgrade the bases fortification.

A few railgun based AA systems had been brought in and set up in semi-hidden locations and the crews in the Naval Station had been on guard out in the bay for most of the last week.

Deep in the bunker network an electronic warfare unit was already fighting tommorows war.

"No, but they did manage to secure the next bridge up that road that leads into the next village chain, no one has made it through either. They also marked 3 tunnel entrance points. We've got about 12 people on a possible insurgent watch list and we're going to take them back to the base for a interrogation and such. Oddly, we also picked up an AK47 casing over there. This has been a helluva battlezone though, nothing to get upset over."

The Captain was satisfied.

"Bring the Adams in the bomb those caves, hand out food and supplies to, we'll see how they react and we'll scout this place out on the way back down." the Captain said while breifly scouting a mountaintop through his rifle scope.

RMV Contraband, going on information provided by the Air Force, has tapped a broadband internet data transfer cable and began tracking and monitering communications inside Saharistan. Because of the poor nature of most of the nation when it comes to technology most people don't have computers. After a clean sweep of all public internet terminals the Intelligence crew on Contraband begins hacking, tracking, and sometimes owning computers of people suspected to be up to no good.

1 suspected insurgent computer has been hacked and after matching information with that on several anti-terror and counter-insurgency lists the names of 4 insurgent members have came up.

The families and anyone these members are believed to have came in contact with in the last 3 weeks are being brought into military custody.

Oh I intend to use GJ in the future, there one of the NS worlds most deadliest terrorist groups now, much bigger than any crappy Marxist rebel group or even the Leafanistani Red Brigades.

However both Zarqawi's are out of the picture and I don't intend for GJ to 'liberate' Saharistan anymore.

Many GJ members are pissed off at the Saharistani people for not being more supportive of the Jihad and the fact that Saharistanis enjoy the more western secular lives that they have now.

GJ now considers Saharistan like any other infidel nation, one that is not to be liberated but destroyed.

If GJ do do something in Saharistan, it will be to kill Saharistanis, not free them!
