JAPAN TO HOST PEACE CONFERENCE IN NAGASAKI
The Imperial Japanese government is hosting a conference in Nagasaki in January 1902 to help resolve the current dispute in the French/British Dispute in the Small Island of New Hebrides. The Current Situation has British Royal Marines on the Island protecting British Civilians and Interests which are now residing in the Governers mansion. Two French Protected Cruisers are also in the area. The Exalted Emperor Mutsihito has issued this statement
"Our Friends in Great Britain and France have been unsuccesful in resolving this situation at this time and I have decided that rather than see two of the greatest powers in the world at war with one another that Japan should act as a mediator in this dispute so that both parties leave the situation happy without shots being fired."

Germany is also curious as to why the Japanese are standing behind Westerners who have been enslaving fellow Asians for decades instead of their fellow Asian who graciously gave Japan all of her sea holdings, and who is just trying to make Asia for Asians? Germany believes that the French are using the wise and old Japanese for their colonial gains.

OOC: trying to incite one allie of mine against another, nope no reason to be wary
IC: Japan is curious why Germany has switched its allegiances as well bringing about a Great and Brutal war that is has killed Millions, while trying to incite another war in The Far East and then act like they have the moral superiority. You are not from the East, you do not understand our ways. Your nation has done nothing but commit complete and total hostile acts against Allies of Japan and Friends as well. Japan does not believe it is beneficial to our ally on the mainland that they should be conducting trade and subversive acts that could potentially bring about a disasterious war in which that ally would most likely lose.

Taiwan strikes back
Taiwan supports Japan but would like Japan to get out of its territorial waters that it has been invading for fish resources for the last 20 years. In a show of nationalistic loyalty Taiwan grudgingly sent out ten battleships to the border lines and warned that any Japanese fishing boats would be blocked.

In September (ooc I almost forgot to post it), Tokyo and the surrounding area is rocked by a devastating earthquake. Over 100,000 die in Tokyo alone, mostly from the resulting fires. Nearly a million are homeless and Yokohoma, Tokyo and most of the Kanto plain is in ruins. The Japanese suffer billions of dollars in damage.
This also knocks the Japanese economy from Strong to Good for the next 18 months.
The US sends millions of dollars in charitable aid, including medical personnel.

WAR!!
On July 18th the Japanese Empire Issued a Declaration of war to Russia, Germany, France, Spain, Yugoslavia, Brazil. Japan was acting upon the Treaty of Tapei as well as the Treaty of London in support of its allies.
BATTLE OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA
On the 18th an Imperial Japanese Squadron was moving to blockade French Indochina and encountered a French squadron of 2 Battleships, 1 aircraft carrier and various support vessels, with small help from our american allies who prevented the lowly French cowards from escaping the Task Force under (OOC: Insert Admirals name here) were able to completely obliterate every french warship with only slight damages to our brave sailors) With that accomplished we have elimanted any french threat to our great empire and emperor all that remains is the Russians.
Battle of the Sea of Japan
On the 20th a massive Russian Armada sailed south from Vladivostok to link up with the now destroyed French Force. The foul russian devils attempted to trap and ambush the glorious Imperial Force that awaited them. But our brave and honorable sailors were once again able to prove that the Rising Sun is indeed a force to be reckoned with. The Russians sent Their entire battleline and most of their escorts south and were caught north of Formosa with a grand air assault by our brave aviators was able to put one of the Russian Battlecruisers out of action and scatter the other Russian ships which were then assaulted by the main Battleforce of our Grand Navy. The ensuing battle was fierce and our forces took moderate casualties but accomplished the utter destruction of the Russian forces and elimanted them as a threat to Japanese control of the Seas.
The Home Front
As a war measure production has been stepped up in all War manufactures and Shipyards to rise with demand. Also all reserves have been called up to duty and will be training and conscription has been stepped up to meet Demand.
OOC: I'm deliberatly leaving out the little bit of losing Sakhalin as most Japanese probably would not even know where it is. And Defeats are never fun to report in the press.

I'm not planing on making a empire. I just want to finish the war. Madagascar was a threat to South Africa and had to be taken over. Also the battlecruisers were made in the early 1906. In Wikipedia they are in the grey area between crusiers and battleships. My battlecruiser Guerree has eight 12 inch guns in four twin turrets, with two mounted fore and aft and another two on the centreline port and starboard. The armoured belt measured 6 inches amidships and 4 inches at the bow, with the deck armour in some places only 3/4 of an inch thick. Compared to the 11 inches on the Drenought. Also Guerree can go 28 knots. It is weird that I'm never listed as a country in the ecnomics.

you are not big enough to produce battlecruisers, you have never RP'd developing shipyards or even the resources to develop shipyards. It takes longer than 6 months to build a battlecruiser, for me as japan it takes 3 years. So yeah it takes you a LOT longer to build.
If you want to help the war cause, do GB a favor and don't open up side fronts on him, talk to him he's got the master war plan and see where you might be able to fit in. If you are really that desperate to send troops somewhere there are going to be some fronts in North East Asia(siberia) that will be opening up that you can send troops to be cannon fodder for. Because honestly thats all your troops are probably worth, no offense but yeah.
I built the battlecrusier a couple of years go in 1921. I also didn't make a side front for him. I just took over the couple of Islands the Warsaw pact owned. That is probaby the end of the fighting in the Indian Ocean.

VICTORY AT SEA!!!!!!!!!
The Combined fleet has once again showed its dominance over the hated Russians. Our great and glorious pilots in both the army and navy proved why Japan will win this war, we have sunk every surface warship the USDR has in the pacific, down to the very last destroyer(ooc: I think?) And have driven her hated and dastardly evil submersibles from our seas. The attack known as Operation Tsunami was a two pronged one with carriers from the combined and southern fleets taking part. And while we were smashing what was left of the Russian Navy, our army retook Sakhalin Island suffering very little casualties.
Also our brave American Allies took minor ports on the coast of the Sea of Okhokst so that they could not be used as submarine bases against our shipping.
So far in this war we have suffered naval losses but we have inflicted far more losses in any category than we have received. The glorius Rising Sun shall not set on Siberia.

OOC: what are we doing with the KVC now that i'm out of the war, I assume i still equipped them.
Yamashiro(To Korea Early 1929[if korea would be interested if not than possibly argentina)
OOC: Well.....it would seem they would have to return home, frustrated. They may play a part later on, though, in Korea's internal affairs, if I can get time off from SATs and College apps....
And am I to interpret the above listing as Korea getting a ship? That would be pretty sweet.

OOC: I want closer relations with Korea. I think I could train and equip another one of your corps(you use the points and then i make them in my image, etc.)
if you've got AIM, IM me at slmdhipsi3si
BTW I changed my mind, you'd get the Kirishima not the Yamashiro, and it won't be free, but then again it won't be expensive either.

OOC: Hmm...sounds tempting, but I am inclined to remember 1895, whatnot, and so would the Koreans. They may think a little oddly of the low-cost gift. So would Russia and Germany.
Still, it would be interesting. We are neutrals, after all, and our armed forces could use a little work. I'll have to contemplate this.....

Argentina congratulates Japan and the Ottoman Empire on the cementing of thier alliance.
With the lack of Chinese and Japanese involvement in the League of Nations, and the current attitude of such nations being one of assumed superiority in all International Affairs, the time has come to strengthen the ties of those who refuse to join this world government that attempts to subvert the rule of National Soverignty.
Argentina proposes that, as China and Japan are currently allies and Japan and Argentina are currently allies, a three way Alliance would strengthen and bind us in our resolve to oppose this world government.
It is proposed that a summit in either a Japanese or Chinese city would be made to discuss the particulars of the alliance, at which time an Agenda will be presented and topics of interest are decided.
It is our fervent hope that the League turns out to be no more than the sum of it's parts, a band of scheming, backstabing, and hated mutual enemies; but the possibility for world rule is there in the League's charter.
I will attend personally once everything is decided and my replacement arrives in the Hague.

RE: possible three way alliance
Our Great Empire has been securing alliances around the world in recent years due to both LTA and Pact agression, trying to create an alliance bloc that would feel strong enough to stand up to either the Pact or the LTA and therefore provide protection from its members from entering into those alliance's next devastating war. We are also hesitant about the League of Nations and its demanding soveirgnty over those it that want nothing to do with it. Therefore we wish to create the Union of Non-aligned nations, creating a place where both nations that want to be in the league of nations but not in either the pact or LTA can feel safe. But also to help protect nations that wish to not be in the league of nations and therefore to provide an alliance in which the LoN would have to fight to enforce its resolutions on those that don't want to give up their Soveirgnty.
OOC: Search for the Union of Unaligned nations. I think thats where we should start.
And when roughly 700 million of the worlds population want nothing to do with the league it might have disasterious effects on that world body.
Is total population more important, or just number of national entities?

I think it's the number of bullets relative to total population that's decisive.

point taken.
OOC: I believe Spain is part of the League, but the Union of Unalligned Nations is admirable in and of itself. I say we have our little meeting, form our 3 way alliance, and join the Union of Unalligned Nations while simultaniously pressuring Spain to quit the League and sign on with us.
Would it be safe to say that our little Alliance will have Pacific intentions?

OOC:
Most likely, seeing that Japan is a naval power in the Pacific, China is the industrial monster of Asia, and Argentina can reach the Pacific easily. So it stands to reason that we should secure the Pacific for our alliance, and eventually control it.
