The Duchess Of Windsor studied an updated map on the current situation in Great Britain, she pointed at Nottingham Castle, "Has Nottingham declared its independance from the Crown?" She asked one of her generals. "No M'lady, we believe that the Castle has yet declared its independance from the Crown, infact we don't even know whether the castle has a Lord or Lady."

The Duchess studied the map for awhile, Castle Nottingham presents to her a unique opportunity, it will increase the House of Windsor's standing in the Civil War and put mounting pressure on The Tower Of London to ally with her. "General, prepare your men! You are to march to Castle Nottingham and seize it in the name of House Windsor, with that castle, it will provide us with more income and troops to deal with the rest of the Empire as we see fit!"

The General bowed, "As you command M'lady. I ride at once!" The General rushed down to the Barracks. "Arise men! Prepare for battle, we march to Nottingham!" The Men quickly scurried away, frantically preparing the troops and weapons. 2 Hours later, 1000 men marched out of Windsor Castle bearing the White Standard of Windsor and marched towards Castle Nottingham, intend on conquering it in the name of the Duchess.

OOC: I am RPing the resistance of Nottingham Castle, this has nothing to do with my role as Caerphilly. This is entirely seperate from Caerphilly and has nothing to do with it.

IC:
He yawned and rubbed his eyes, looking out over the misty morning, which clung to the grass as if afraid to leave. Finally, his shift was over and he could leave.

His armour was rusted, but holding together, he couldn't expect better, it was only his third morning on the ramparts of the castle. He looked over in envy at the man next to him, resplendent in his almost sparkling armour, a shirt of mail, the most common armour. A few suits of full plate stood in the armoury, but they had not been used in a long time. Hopefully they wouldn't be needed either.

He looked over towards the castle, smoke rose from the kitchens, breakfast would be served soon. He sighed wistfully, then blinked.

Out in the distance, a column of dust could be seen. That was more than just a messenger. He sprinted down the stairs, tripping over the last one in his haste and flying to the ground. He picked himself up and hurried to the man in the centre of the dining room.

He sat in a chair, on a raised platform, and was eating leisurely. One looking from afar might make the mistake that this was a Lord, but Nottingham had not had one of them for a while. He was just a knight, but he was the undoubted leader of the castle. He stood to attention and made his report. Nottingham Castle grinded into action.....

"Halt!" The General shouted out loud to his men. The 1000-strong army stood on the plains outside Nottingham Castle. "The Duchess has given specific orders, no razing of the villages or the Castle. We are to capture it intact." The soldiers shouted out in response. "Yes M'lord." The White Standard of Windsor billowed in the air as a breeze flowed past them.

General Alexander commanded his archers to move up, "Archers move up and fire!" 200 Archers marched forward and begun firing their arrows at the castle. "Move up the ladders!" The rest of the army slowly lurched forward with 5 seige ladders. Seeing as the objective is to capture the castle intact, seige equipment will have to be limited to Seige Ladders.

"And the seige begins...." He turned to his personal messanger. "Go and tell the Duchess that Castle Nottingham is under seige as we speak." The Messanger bowed and rode off back to Windsor.

As the ladders got closer, the men behind the walls sniggered. If this worked, he'd definitely be made a Lord. This would hurt like hell, but it was neccessary.
"3....2.....1..... OVER!!"
The cry came out as the men started climbing the ladders, and vats of boiling oil were thrown onto the ladders, followed by five flaming arrows, one to each ladder. The screams provided the best sounds they could have hoped for.
