Snake Eaters Fleets Revealed

Snake Eaters
11-07-2005, 21:13
It has been decided that the lists and specifications of many of Snake Eaters ships are to be revealed, so as to aid in ship identification by other nations

OOC: Read: I have something to refer to in RP's if you don't believe me

All Snake Eater ships are built using a framework of titanium, with adamantium including on the higher-level military ships for additional structural strength. All ships are equipped with at least Class-7 Coaxial warp drives, which allow them to travel distances much faster than convential warp FTL drives. They all have at least a simple navigational deflector.

Civil Starships
Arrowhead class
Image:http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Civilian%20ships/?action=view&current=Passenger.jpg
Type: Passenger
Length: 100 metres
Beam: 30 metres
Height: 30 metres
Mass: 90,000 tonnes
Armaments: x1 Type I Pulse cannon turret
Defences: Class I-C shields (basic, civil)
Crew: 4 main, 15 stewards
Maximum Limit: 500 passengers

This class of ship was designed to be the primary passenger-carrying ship in Snake Eaters. Its small maximum limit is compensated by the frequency of the trips conducted by Snake Airlines, which runs the business, with ships leaving dock roughly every half hour

Monolith class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Civilian%20ships/?action=view&current=Cargo.jpg
Type: Cargo
Length: 150 metres
Beam: 35m
Height: 20m
Mass: 105,000 tonnes
Armaments: x2 Type II Pulse Cannon turrets
Defences: Class II-C shields (light, civil)
Crew: 5
Maximum Cargo: 75,000 tonnes

The Monolith was the first cargo ship released into the civil market by the shipyards of Tiravano. It was designed to be a very sleek design, limiting the target area for pirate raiders that occasionally target these ships. In times of war, they can be used for transporting military supplies, for which the government pays the owners

Valkyrie class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Civilian%20ships/?action=view&current=Cargoship2.jpg
Type: Cargo
Length: 100 metres
Beam: 75 metres
Height: 50 metres
Mass: 375,000 tonnes
Armaments: None
Defences: Class IV-C shields (heavy, civil)
Crew: 10
Maximum cargo: 300,000 tonnes

The Valkyrie line of cargo ships was released prior to the legislation in Snake Eaters permitting civilian ships to carry weapons. Thus, it was given extremely heavy shields to compensate for its lack of offensive weaponry.

Goliath class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Civilian%20ships/?action=view&current=Goliath.jpg
Class: Escort
Length: 100m
Beam: 30m
Height: 45m
Mass: 135,000 tonnes
Armaments: x2 broadside torpedo launchers (x6 tubes per launcher), x2 Type II Pulse Cannon turrets (one is obscured on the far side)
Defences: Class III - C shields (medium, civil)
Crew: 50

The Goliath class was commissioned due to rising demand for escorts on civil trade routes. Whilst lacking the resources to dedicate military vessels to such an action, the Assembly allowed for the construction of these ships, which were then sold to civilians. They pack a fairly heavy punch for ships of their class, given the speed with which they were commissioned

Space Stations and Artificial Orbital Bodies
Vulcan-type
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Space%20Stations/?action=view&current=Orbitalweapons.jpg
Type: Orbital weapons platform
Length: 45m
Beam: 10 m
Height: 20m
Mass: 9000 tonnes
Armaments: x3 Heavy Pulse Cannons, x2 torpedo launch tubes (stock of 500 Quantum Torpedoes onboard)
Defences: Class III shields (medium, military)
Crew: Single A.I.

These platforms are put into place in order to provide a defence network around strategically important planets in the Snake Eater Empire. The A.I is capable of identifying separate targets to its fellows, but they can also communicate via low-power broadband networks in order to concentrate their fire. The sensors scan an incoming ship, and if it is transmitting a valid ID signal, it is allowed to pass.

Gamma-type
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Space%20Stations/?action=view&current=sb99-planet.jpg
Type: Commercial
Diameter: 250 metres
Height: 100 metres
Mass: 25,000,000 tonnes
Armaments: x 6 Type IV Pulse Cannons, x6 torpedo batteries (x6 tubes per battery)
Defences: Type III-C shields (Medium, civil)
Crew: 450

These stations, placed in orbit around all Snake Eater planets, are designed as waypoints for the Arrowhead-class transports. It is here that personnel and passengers embark and disembark from their flights, and are then transported down to the service via shuttlecraft or transporters. The reasonably heavy weapons systems allow them to also serve defence platforms in times of war. They can all take seven Arrowhead ships at a time, resulting in a maximum population of almost 4000 people.

Wayward type
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Space%20Stations/?action=view&current=Wayward.jpg
Type: System Defence, Trade
Diameter: 2500 metres
Height: 300 metres
Mass: 300,000,000 tonnes
Armaments: x80 Type IV Pulse Cannons, x50 torpedo batteries, x20 Type XII Phaser Arrays.
Defences: Type III shields (medium, military)
Crew: 700

These stations are designed not only as trade stations, but also as the first line of defence in-system in case of enemy invasion. They are equipped with military grade phasers and pulse cannons, allowing them to engage all but the largest capital ships with some success. They do make a safe haven for all forms of trade however, as they do not rely on computers to identify the incoming ships. There is capacity for a maximum of 14 ships (8 on the outer ring, 3 on the upper pylons, 3 on the lower)

Phoenix type
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Space%20Stations/?action=view&current=Phoenix.jpg
Type: Military Dock
Diameter: 4000 metres
Height: 3000 metres
Mass: 1,120,500,000 tonnes
Armaments: x70 Type XII Phaser Arrays
Defences: Type IV shields (heavy, military)
Crew: 10,000

These stations are much more rare than any other types, but they make up for this by being huge constructs, capable of holding a range of starships within their hulls. These constructs are run by the military, but can offer refuge to civilian ships in times of dire emergency. They are capable of repairing and upgrading ships, but this can only occur if the proper authorisation is present

Miscellaneous
Pathfinder-class
Image: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Miscellanious/Pathfinder.jpg
Type: Deep Space Exploration vessel
Length: 500 metres
Beam: 100 metres
Height: 100 metres
Mass: 5,000,000 tonnes
Armaments: x1 forward facing torpedo battery
Defences: Type III shields (medium, military)
Crew: 1000

These ships are the forerunners for Snake Eaters. They are sent on missions of exploration to push back the borders of Snake space, and also to catalogue astronomical phenomen and other species as they go. Typical missions last five years, and the ship carries enough supplies to ensure survival for up to seven years without resupply. It is lightly armed, in order to save power that can be used to augment the engines, extending the range.

Cobra class
Image: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Miscellanious/CobraMkX.jpg
Type: Multirole
Length: 22m
Height: 6m
Wingspan: 17m
Mass: 38,000 kilograms (when fully laden)
Armaments: x 3 Pulse cannons (nose, left wing, right wing). Can also carry a wide range of missiles and torpedos
Defences: Type III shields (medium, military)
Crew: single pilot

The Cobra Mk X is the latest incarnation of the Cobra-class fighter aircraft. Capable of both intersteller and atmospheric travel due to hydrogen fuel cell engines, this craft is designed to establish air superiority and maintain it. Using a unique switchblade like design, the Cobra achieves it's aims. At higher speeds the outer wings fold back into the wing edges nearer the main body of the aircraft. At the same time, the tailplanes fold flat, which although reducing the crafts overall stability in atmospheric conditions, offers a greater control surface area. The craft also uses 3D thrust vectoring engines, which also increase the high manervability of the aircraft.

The normal outload for a Cobra is it's three primary cannons, backed up by a load of missiles, bombs (free-fall and guided) and in certain cases, torpedoes (spatial and naval), which is dictated by the mission. There are a total of fourteen hardpoints on this craft, allowing for a wide variety of the above ordanance

Spirit class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Miscellanious/?action=view&current=B2.jpg
Type: Long Range Tactical Bomber
Length: 21m
Height: 5.1m
Wingspan: 52.1m
Mass: 152,600kg
Payload: 40,000lbs
Defences: Type III shields (medium, military)
Crew: 3 (pilot, co-pilot, target designator)

The Spirit class was adapted from the older B-2 Spirit bombers that could only be used for atmospheric flight, and given hydrogen fuel cell engines to enable space travel capacity. However, for these to be deployed in space is rare indeed, and they are more commonly seen on long range tactical assignments.

NOTE: All Snake Eater military vessels are equipped with bio-neural gelpack circuitry

Naval Vessels
Defiant class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Common%20Naval%20Ships/?action=view&current=Defiant_quarter.jpg
Type: Escort
Length: 171 metres
Beam: 134m
Height: 30m
Mass: 355,000 tonnes
Armaments: 4 pulse phaser cannons; 3 phaser beam emitters; 2 forward quantum torpedo launchers; 1 forward photon torpedo launcher, 2 aft photon torpedo launchers
Defences: Ablative armour, Type IV shields (Heavy, Military)
Crew: 45

The Defiant class was designed as a heavy escort for fleets, but as the project progressed, it also became apparant as to how powerful a front line ship it could become. Therefore, whilst still designated an escort, it was upgraded to have many more weapons than any other ship of it's relative size

Intrepid class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Common%20Naval%20Ships/?action=view&current=200px-Voyager-bottom.jpg
Type: Multiple
Length: 344m
Beam: 133m
Height: 60m
Mass: 700,000 tonnes
Armament: 13 Type XII phaser arrays, 6 torpedo tubes,
Defences: Type III shields (Medium, Military)
Crew: 150

The Intrepid class is the most multi-tasking ship in the entire Snake Eater Navy. Able to perform a multitude of tasks for a ship her size, including border patrols, deep space recon and scientific study, it is indeed an asset to the Navy

NOTE: Capable of landing on a planet, and returning to orbit

Galaxy class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Common%20Naval%20Ships/?action=view&current=Enterprise-d.jpg
Type: Heavy Cruiser
Length: 642m
Beam: 138m
Height: 479m
Mass: 4,500,000 tonnes
Armaments: 12 Type XII phaser arrays; 4 torpedo launchers
Defences: Type IV shields (Heavy, Military
Crew: 1,000

The Galaxy class is one of the premier smaller warships of the Snake Eater Navy. Following a recent refit, the weapons systems are second to none, and the ship now boasts one of the best operational records in Snake Eater history

Sovereign class
Image:http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Common%20Naval%20Ships/?action=view&current=200px-Sovereign_class_enterprise_17.jpg
Type: Heavy Cruiser
Length: 685m
Beam: 240m
Height: 88m
Mass: 3,025,000 tonnes
Armaments: 16 Type XIII phaser arrays, 9 Torpedo launchers
Defences: Type IV shields (Heavy, Military)
Crew: 750

Despite being slightly smaller than the Galaxy class, Sovereign class starships are still more powerful fighting ships due to the larger array of weapons onboard. A smaller crew is compensated by enhanced automation of a number of functions that previously required crewmembers to perform them

Akira class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Common%20Naval%20Ships/?action=view&current=Akira.jpg
Type: Warship
Length: 465m
Beam: 87m
Height: 317m
Mass: 3,055,000
Armament: 6 Type-XII phaser arrays; 15 torpedo launchers
Defences: Type V shields (Frontline standard, Military)
Crew: 535

The Akira class was built for only one thing. War. That is it's only function, and as a result there are little frills onboard one of these vessels. A larger sickbay is allowed due to the reduction in holodecks

Shadow class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Common%20Naval%20Ships/?action=view&current=Darkblade.jpg
Type: Infiltrator
Length: 336m
Beam: 213m
Height: 57m
Mass: 650,000 tonnes
Armament: x 5 Type XII phaser arrays, x 3 torpedo launchers
Defences: Type II shields (light, military)
Crew: 130

The Shadow-class is designed to be the covert ship of the Snake Eater Navy. Equipped with a cloaking device capable of pentrating most, but not all, sensor nets, the Shadow class relies upon superior speed and stealth to avoid a fight, rather than engage in conflict due to it's light shielding

Ezekiel class
Image:http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Common%20Naval%20Ships/?action=view&current=PatrolCraft.jpg
Type: Patrol Craft
Length: 150m
Beam: 50m
Height: 60m
Mass: 245,000 tonnes
Armament: x6 Class III pulse cannons, x2 Type XII phaser arrays, x2 broadside torpedo batteries (x6 tubes per battery)
Defences: Type III shields (Military, Medium)
Crew: 140

The Ezekiel class was designed and commisioned in order to fill the gap between stations and military escorts. Now, the Ezekiel class is used to patrol the edges of the systems, lending aid to those who require it and also aiding the Goliath class civilian escorts when trade convoys arrive

Hunter class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Miscellanious/?action=view&current=Hunter.jpg
Type: Gunboat
Length: 200 metres
Beam: 75 metres
Height: 75 metres
Mass: 1,250,000 tonnes
Armaments: x2 torpedoe batteries, x6 Class III Pulse Cannons
Defences: Type III shields (Medium, Military)
Crew: 150

The Hunter class is derived from the Skipspray blastboat, and as such is used as a fast, mobile fire support system. It's most common usage is passes over combat areas, bombarding the enemy positions. However, it is also used in naval combat to help eliminate foes. It's smaller size and decent weaponry allow it to exploit the weaknesses in other ships

Templar class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Common%20Naval%20Ships/?action=view&current=Templar.jpg
Type: Linebreaker
Length: 300 metres
Beam: 250 metres
Height: 150 metres
Mass: 1,250,000 tonnes
Armamanets: x10 Class IV Pulse Cannons, x 30 Type XII phaser arrays, x5 torpedo batteries
Defences: Type VII shields (Super-Heavy, Military), Ablative Armour
Crew: 500

The Templar class is designed to break through the enemies frontline and then proceed to wreck havoc behind the lines using it's substantial firepower, which is such that it would be more suited to a capital ship than a normal cruiser. Befitting it's role, it has extremely heavy defences to allow it to survive enemy barrages. It is also the only ship in the entire Snake Eater Navy to be fitted with Type VII shields

Troop Transportation

These vessels are used by all Snake Eater forces when deploying to a planet, but they are mostly commonly seen being used by the Colonial Marines

Orca class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Troop%20Transports%20and%20Landing%20Craft/?action=view&current=Orca.jpg
Type: Transport
Length: 150m
Beam: 50m
Height: 40m
Mass: 300,000 tonnes
Armaments: x2 Class IV Pulse Cannon turrets (one obscured on far side), x4 Type XII Phaser arrays
Defences: Type III shields (Medium, Military)
Crew: 50
Maximum Capacity: 300 infantry, 50 Crisis Suits, 15 tanks ((SE-12 Viper MBT: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=413225)), 30 Warrior armoured vehicles ((http://www.army-technology.com/projects/warrior/))
Method of Deployment: Dropships

The Orca class is Snake Eaters premier military transport, allowing for the rapid deployment of Snake ground forces into a region. Given that each can carry two companies of men and enough support fire to allow them to survive for some time, they could be said to be small armies on their own.

In exceptional circumstances, Orca-class Transports can land on a planets surface to deliver an excess of troops or equipment. However, this is rarely done as troops can also be transported by transporters or shuttlecraft

Phantom type
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Troop%20Transports%20and%20Landing%20Craft/?action=view&current=Phantom.jpg
Type: Tank Dropship
Length: 20m
Beam: 15m
Height: 10m
Mass: 3,000 tonnes
Armaments: x2 Class III Pulse Cannon turrets
Defences: Ablative armour
Crew: 10
Maximum Capacity: 3 SE-12 Viper MBT's or 6 Warrior vehicles
Number aboard an Orca-class: 5 Dropships

The Phantom was designed as a transport for heavy support as opposed to infantry. Given it's dropship role, it was decided that shields would not be cost-effective, and thus ablative armour is the only defence onboard.

LightningSword Type
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Troop%20Transports%20and%20Landing%20Craft/?action=view&current=LightningSword.jpg
Type: Infantry Transport + Close Air Support
Length: 15m
Beam: 10m
Height: 7.5m
Mass: 1,125 tonnes
Armaments: x2 Class III Pulse Cannon turrets
Defences: Ablative Armour
Crew: 4
Maximum Capacity: 30 Infantrymen with full kit or 10 Crisis Suits
Number onboard an Orca-class: 10 Dropships

The LighningSword is a slightly different design to the Phantom, as befits its role as a troop transport. Slightly smaller and lighter, it is also slightly more agile when under fire. Having disgorged it's troops, it can then provide close air support for a limited time.

Naval Flagships

These ships are less common than the regular naval ships. They are bigger, stronger, but do suffer from a reduction in speed as a result.

Warfare-class
Image: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Naval%20Flagships/Warfare.jpg
Type: Frigate
Length: 1000m
Beam: 200m
Height: 300m
Mass: 60,000,000 tonnes
Armaments: x20 Type XIII Phaser arrays, x 30 broadside torpedo launchers (x8 tubes per launcher), x 80 Class IV Pulse Cannon turrets
Defences: Type V shields (Frontline, Military)
Provisional Crew: 5,000
Additional Support: x10 Phantom-type dropships
x20 LightningSword-type dropships
x150 Cobra Mk V + pilots - 150 men
x4 Companies - Colonial Marines - 600 men
Total Crew: 5,750 people (not including dropship crews)

The Warfare-class frigate is the third largest ship in the Snake Navy. Capable of carrying a total complement of almost 6,000 people. Normally, four companies of Colonial Marines are stationed onboard one of these vessels, as well as multiple flights of Cobra pilots. They can also carry a number of heavier support vehicles.

The Warfare class is designed to lend some heavier fire support to the normal fleet. In dire circumstances, the commander will take control of provisional battle-fleets, using his own ship as the command ship. However, due to the prescense of other capital ships, this is rare.

Leviathan-class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Naval%20Flagships/?action=view&current=gothicomp08.jpg
Type: Battlecruiser
Length: 2500m
Beam: 300m
Height: 400m
Mass: 300,000,000 tonnes
Armaments: x 25 Type XIII Phaser arrays, x40 torpedo lauchers (broadside and forward, x8 tubes per launcher), x85 Class V Pulse Cannons, x40 Ion cannons
Defences: Type VI shields (Frontline Heavy, Military)
Provisional Crew: 7500
Additional Support: x6 Companies - Colonial Marines - 900 men
x300 Cobra-class fighters + pilots - 300men
x25 LightningSword type dropships
x20 Phantom type dropships (for transport of tanks where required)
Total Crew: 8,700 men (not including crews of dropships)

The Leviathan class is the second most common capital ship in the Snake Eater navy. Being smaller, and thus cheaper to maufacture than the BelDragos class, it is more common for Fleet Admirals to use Leviathan-classes as their flagships. Their power is second to none, and they are the pinacle of Snake Eater technology, having only been released within the last few years.

BelDragos class
Image: http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Naval%20Flagships/?action=view&current=BelDragos.jpg
Type: Capital Ship
Length: 4000m
Beam: 500 metres at widest point
Height: 450m
Mass:
Armamenents: x 40 Type XIII Phaser arrays, x50 torpedo lauchers (broadside and forward, x8 tubes per launcher), x90 Class V Pulse Cannons, x60 Ion cannons
Defences: Type VI shields (Frontline Heavy, Military)
Provisional Crew: 9000 men
Additional Support: x10 Companies - Colonial Marines - 1500 men
x600 Cobra-class fighters + pilots - 600 men
x50 LightningSword type dropships
x40 Phantom type dropships (for transport of tanks where required)
Total crew: 11,100 (not including dropships)

Simply put, the BelDragos class is the largest, most heavily armed ship in Snake Eaters'. Designed as a replacement for the Dauntless class, the four ships, named BelDragos' Wrath, Leviathan's Fury, Warfare's Compassion and Maril's Wisdom entered service some ten years ago, and have served with distinction on many fronts
Snake Eaters
