I'm thinking about doing an Offsite RP, and i'm just testing to see how many people are interested.
Basically, the technology for travel would be similar to the Freelancer tech. A ship's warp drive is comparitively slow, but is bearable for getting around in the system. High traffic routes have Warp Rings, which multiply initial warp speed by 20. Then, for inter-system travel, we have Jump Gates, which instantaneously teleports as many ships as can fit in the gate. I'm going to use a map of the Star Wars galaxy for claiming, but bear in mind that the tech has no Star Wars about it, and that there are no Jedi.
