Secret IC


In a secret underground facility, bioengineers and geneticists have developed a new virus that is the ultimate bioweapon. It is highly contagious and almost always deadly. There is no cure, only a vaccine that was also secretly developed. All citizens of Kreynoria are to be immunized against this new virus. Several people wishing to commit suicide volunteered to test the new virus. The symptoms including high fever, severe muscle and stomach cramping, shivering, exhaustion, purple-black spots on the skin, and skin lesions, and results in death over after two days. The virus is being stockpiled in secure facilities as a biological weapon.

OOC-What do you expect us to do if its secret, are you going to release the info at some time?

OOC: This is here so it isn't considered godmoding if I use it, I will release this to the world sometime later.

OOC: A release of a weapon like this on Earth II would be catestrophic in nature. If you were to release a weapon like this in war or if an accident happened and it was released, a nuclear response would probably be warranted. I would not hesitate to launch tactical nuclear payloads at storage facilities, and source of orgin, if this stuff is released. Now I know that I am not supposed to know anything about its R&D, etc., but just like with the Plague borne fleas in England good methods of detection and crime scene investigation always reveal the source of the virus. I would strongly suggest ONLY using something like that in a last ditch effort to punish an invader when all hope is lost in the battle for your country. The effects of using this type of weapon as a first strike option would draw international outrage, embargos and yes military action for sure.

Although nuclear strikes on the production and storage facilities would be ineffective, as the vaccine is stored in those same facilities, and they are fortified and located deep underground. Their existence is classified, the Kreynorian Senate has not even been informed of the locations. And anyway, the virus would be completely unstoppable, seeing as it is a genetically modified, ultra-deadly "super-virus," resistant to all known drugs.

We would like to inquire as to why the hell you invented an unstoppable virus and formally request the destruction of all stores.

OOC:I believe all but the 'Undestroyalbe Bunkers'. Just because they are located underground doesnt mean they are safe. Take the safest bunker in RL. The Cheyenne Mountain Complex(home of NORAD) is quite literally buried into a mountain. Yet it can be destroyed by a hit by a 25 megaton Thermonuclear bomb ground-burst. The Russians have just the weapon for that, Cheyenne Mountain is targetted by a entire REGIMENT of SS-18 Model 4 Ballistic Missiles which carry single 25 megaton nuclear warheads. Their sole purpose is to turn Cheyenne Mountain into Cheyenne Lake. Therefore there is no such thing as a 'undestroyable' bunker, in the race between armor and warhead, the warhead wins.

OOC: You should give it a harmless but infectious incubation time so it can spread further; if people die after only 2 days, there is a possibility that the country it is released in will issue a quarantine after the initial outbreak and everyone will have to eat canned tuna for a while.

I never said they are undestroyable. Its just the fact that next to no one, including Kreyorian senators, know where they are located. Also, if you destroy the bunkers, you also destroy the vaccine and all of the research records, thus making it even more difficult to defeat.

On a completely unrelated note an Kreynorian national was involved in a serious dogsled accident near Tasth City, Hyperbia. He is fine.

Basically don't expect to have your entire nation to have a specific blood protein and have no-one get supicious.

OK, that's the basic stereotype, but yeah, that would be GMing. But the information of this is completely classified, and as the immunization program is only days old, a Kreynorian would not have had time to be immunized and get to Antarctica and start dogsledding.

You know, technically this really isn't godmodding. Imagine if Ebola or Marbug got out in full. Both of them have mortality rates in excess of 85% and airborneness is a major problem. Krey over here has made a virus with no known cure, only a vaccine. It is entirely possible and who knows if it doesn't already exist. See the thing with biological weapons is that you really don't want them to linger or kill everyone or even harm your soldiers. Unfortunately, for Krey this will do all except for the latter. Anthrax is perfect because it isn't airborne, there is a vaccine, and it does its job and goes. So I have to say that this really isn't godmodding. I won't comment about the control of minds thing or anything because the USSR and many communist-bloc countries had a massive control over their civilians. But either way, Krey would do more harm to himself with this virus than anything else so let him. Hell we even have a highly deadly virus, CAF, seen in one of my Layartebian Chronicles posts that does some freaky stuff. It's an engineered Ebola virus and does some sick stuff. It's also top secret IC.
