OOC: FT RP idea. Space Bermuda Triangle?

Moleland

Ok. I'm sure you are all familar with the bermuda triangle in the atlantic ocean.

Basically, I was thinking there could be a planet/asteroid field where ships from several nations crashed.

Everyone could suffer communications damage and stuff. Everyone could have a working ship part someone else needs to escape (Eg: Engine part, hyperdrive...) . The only way to get off is to either help each other, or steal the components off someone else.

Any comments/people wishing to join?

Enterprise-D had it's own run into a Bermuda Triangle before voyager did. It was when they were all seeing things that wasn't there, such as dead bodies sitting up (for Dr. Crusher).

I'm so in. I'll have the SSD Devestator come in after my last battle. Lord Vorman is my main character in this.
Moleland
11-07-2005, 15:30
ok. That's enough. Now we have to decide How we are going to do it.

We going to have a planet we all crash on, or an asteroid field or something...

What do you think?
Snake Eaters
11-07-2005, 15:35
I think an asteroid field would have be the better choice. It allows us more scope in size, and also greater ease of communication... unless of course that is one of the systems damaged
Kaduna
11-07-2005, 15:37
Planet sounds the most feasable and simple, we all crash land and have to rebuild, ironically i recently launched a ship that went out of control.
Moleland
11-07-2005, 15:38
The idea was we'd all crash somewhere, and we have damaged systems. Someone else has systems we need to escape Etc.

I don't care what we do, it's all in fun. I need to have that old Super Star Destroyer crash anyways(note it doesn't render it's other weapons useless).
I need an excuse to retire this ship before I release the Tyrant TSSD.

There's people crashing SSD's, and yet all I bring to the table is the S.E.N Gibraltar, a Defiant-class starship. Why all the hugs ships people? Use small ones

despite my ship being huge it has only a small crew and crappy technology, also it brings a nice element to an ongoing chapter in Kadunese history, currently in the RP "To Hell" my flagship has taken off into FTL, they aren't sure where they will end up but they know that their engines etc will be f*cked when they arrive.

I'm getting rid of my huge ships, and making bigger ones!(seen the new Nemesis Class Towerless Star Destroyer?) Size typically intimidates even a tough little ship such as the Defiant class(those are cool). I'd wonder how a Sovereign or Galaxy class would stand up...

None of my entire fleet is over 4000m long. Plus you don't intimidate me. You may be bigger, but I would be infintley more maneveurable than you could ever be, allowing me to avoid the large majority of your weapons fire. I have Defiants, Soverigns and Galaxies, but they all have different roles assigned. My largest ship is the BelDragos class, which is here:

4000m long in all. Not even close to a SSD, but hell, those are stupidly big anyway, whats the point really? Other than complete lack of tactical finesse

Ok.. We have a decision planet it is. Is it going to have a huge amounto fgravity or something? Why will we all crash?
Snake Eaters
11-07-2005, 19:44
I'm going for navigational and engine trouble, causing the need for an emergency landing. Please note, I haven't crashed, but I do need supplies

Normal gravity... similar to Earth in climate
Kaduna
11-07-2005, 19:50
I'm going to crash out completely, Engines, Weapons, virtually every system offline, I also only plan on having around 20 survivors, I also agree with the normal gravity, but i think it should be a veritable hell hole, poison gas and everthing.

Well, I have a spatial feature I call the Silurian void, it's an empty expanse of space, no stars, no planets, nothing, just empty space, it's also known as the graveyard of the stars, would that fit your purpose?

If you don't want to use it I'll just join in with the NORAD II scenario, I'll have more troops, but very few systems on line.(moer troops means 2-300, mostly marines and goliath\hellmaker walker, plenty of vultures, stingers, and a few tanks as well.

Ok, physically the posleen resemble reptilian centaurs, crocadilian head, 4 legs, clawed feet, complex double shoulder for the arms, about 14 hands high at the shoulder.

They're not the smartest aliens out there, but there are intelligent ones among them, the majority are sei-morons, but the leaders are known as god-kings, they are smarter, better armed, and slightly larger than the normals, they also command about 3-400 per god-king, but they have no sense of tactics, their answer to defenses is to throw troops at it until either they're all dead or the defenders are, so they have a very high loss ratio, but they can afford it, since they have a VERY high birth rate, and it only takes 18 months for a posleen to reach maturity. They have no artillery or indirect fire weapons, but their plasma cannon and HVM launchers make up for it. Artillery and entrenched defenses are the best way to deal with them. They are also able to live almost anywhere, since it takes VERY, VERY, VERY high concentrations of toxins to harm them.
