DOMINION MILITARY NEWS REPORT
...
...
"The military reported that it has tested its first nuclear weapon on the remote island of Georgovia Imperialis off the coast of the Dominion. While detonation was succesful and minimal contamination has been reported, the explosion was far smaller than expected. The cost-effectivness of such devices has been called into question.
Some members of parliment were outraged by this test, saying that they neither approved funding for or consent to this test. This test contridicts a previous resolution outlawing the purchase of nuclear arms without consent of the parliment. 'We have a right to know how this project was funded, and how this technology was attained. The Independent Centrist Party demands the Emperor explain himself' said deputy Monton, leader of the ICP.
Minister of defense Schwatzkoff refused to answer questions about how such technology was attained. 'All I will say to that is that we have 'aquired' technology for nuclear weapons, and the uranium to produce three more. Any questions regarding the origins of this aquistion will not be answered.'
The legality of this matter, as well as where the funding has come from is being hotly debated in parliment. Emperor Baedor has issued a statment approving of the test and calling on parliment to accept the new situation.
