Homunculi

Through the power of Alchemy a Homunculi was recently made.

The experiment to produce a Homunculi went horrible wrong and the Alchemist died in the firery explosion that followed. The Homunculi goes by the name of Jean, but is expressionless and saddened by the truth of his origin. He has been confined to a research complex in Tanthan, though many of the other Alchemists love him and are opposed to studying Jean.

This is the Alchemic Array used to produce the Homunculi though the original Alchemist may have died from it, his work is being carefully studied. The Alchemist who performed the experiment was a Rank 7 Alchemist under the military's ranking.

Experiments will continue on however to produce a better Homunculi, possibly suited for combat or medical use.

(OOC:Quite, are you a PT, MT or FT nation?)

Amazing that you have managed to create life however I must ask as to how you managed such a feat and the moral problems of doing such, I can assume that the said Alchemist died as he had to create a life and the Alchemy he was using would have required a life to be sacrificed to create one or so my Head of Lore says although I can onbly ssume that to be correct as of now.
In short I would ask that you consider the moral implications of creating living beings before putting so much support behind this project.
-Yours sincerly Chairman Alexance.

Yes, the Alchemist who performed it died, as with Blood Alchemy; using blood and human essense to perform the equal exchange needed, he tried to cheat it by using a cadaver and attempt to restore the life of the man. However the experiment was wrong and stole his life to complete the exchange.

Morally, this experiment is allowed, as long as the Alchemist is willing to risk his or her life to complete it. Even then, the person who is the target of becoming a Homunculi will not be able to remember or even appear the same as the vessel for it orginated. Like putting a soul into a lifeless machine.

Rank 9 Alchemists are able to perform it without killing themselves, but it isa different process in which living people are used to create a loyal Homunculi. Rank 10 through a long journey and trial are able to bring a person back from the dead, or create a Homunculi. Such things would very very rare and require a strong lifeforce and the approval of God for such things to be possible.

*Alchemy has this religious background for high-ranking Alchemists who can channel a Spiritual World, which they believe God is in.

"The Imperium and the Royal Alchemical Society are intrigued by the possibility of developing Haemonculi, listing it as one of our loftiest goals. We wonder if the Alchemists research involved Human Transmutation, an dalso request knowledge of the Philosophers stone. Answer and we may reward you, but we do not expect anything to be hidden from us..."

(OOC: Wow I've never met FMA influenced nations before...GJ I get so tired of star wars and Warhammer influenced nations...BTW you atill have not told me what time period you exist in)

My congradulations to you for having so many loyal and powerful servants but be careful what you develop for there are few things that are used exclusively for good or just reasons and something of this magnitude should be watched with a keen eye.

(OOC: Whats wrong with Wh40K *griiiiiin*)
"Indeed; your alchemy is indeed well developed; a fine and enviable goal. I would know everything you know of the legendary Catalyst, the Philosophers Stone; after all, you have attempted the art of Human Transmutation, and created a monster..."

The transmission breaks off into laughter.

"That is a crime that some would not forgive you for. We, however, would welcome your knowledge..."

Thanks, but were not completely influenced by it :). I'm FT btw. Yes, alchemy needs a balance that wasn't described in FMA, so i am planning to add onto the groundwork they did. More arrays, descriptions and plans that it started on.

OOC: I just finished reading your fact book entry and I must say...You might want to restructure it, what happens to a titanically powered Alchemist who doesn't want to fight but still wants to serve his nation? you should add some peace corps and also the higher level Alchemists are too strong and would be considered Godmoding if you read the stickies and I do mean they are way too stong, a single person who has the power to destroy entire fleets is more than a tiny bit unfair on everyone else, imagine if everyone had people like that there'd be no point of fighting wars, you'd just need a few men to go and blow up their country/planet also the latter levels seem a lot more like magic than Alchemy.
Although it is a good job all around.

OOC: The process of sending a few men to destroy an entire nation is more or less like what the Military did at Ishbal; course, Tanthan doesn't have the Philosophers Stone yet....

True but 1, That was in FMA which does not have rules on godmodding 2, The military sent in men first but it was taking too long and remember that was still an imcomplete Philosophers stone.

I balanced it out by removing them from service, they will not perform like that, its kinda like Star Wars with Yoda. Yoda is the strongest and yet he does not personally lead it until Episode 3.

Same thing with them having eternal life, the thing of eternal life is a sad one, they traded their ability to die for it, and remain elders who cannot comprehend the importance of life anymore. They can restore people yes, but because of their wisdom they will not do it. Death is a part in the cycle of life, and it would be childish to force that to change. Not to mention there is only 4 out of over a billion Alchemists. Since they are old and religious (speak with God) they are powerful, but no longer able to use Alchemy for destructive purposes. Rank 6 are the cruel leaders and the ones that fight. All above that lead and have the option of fighting, but rarely do, here's a closely related system.

No rank: civilian
1: Recruit
2: Soldier in training
3: Out of training
4: Combat soldier
5: Elite Soldier, Commando
6: Warlords
7: Powerful professionals
8: Jedi/Sith top, Vader/Yoda
9: Army of Jedi/Sith
10: Gods

Interesting. TAG. Ironicly though, my nation seeks to do the opposite: cause death rather than create life, though that is on the list.

Certain individuals, with unofficial ties to the Intelligence Service of the Commonwealth of Druids and Wizards, and with unofficial ties to the Academy Arcanum in New London, have covertly entered Tanthan (in the guise of foreign businessmen, tourists, and other subterfuges) to learn what they can of the art of Alchemy as it is taught in the Royal Alchemical Society. These spies are also seeking evidence of slaves purchased on foreign soil being used in Alchemical, Arcane, and Medical experimentation.
