Have anyone of us wondered, what the world would be like of World War two hadn't happened? If Pearl Harbor was never bombed? Or if Germany and the USSR didn't go at it?

Backstory: The year is 1946, the major players of world war two still exist, and have yet to gone to war with each other. Jet aircraft are becoming more dominant, and Adolf Hitler has died of a heart attack. The earth has been quiet too long, its waiting to be conquered.

Saying this is my first time going about an Earth roleplaying group, how does one set up a country for such? Do I just make a country called "Britain 1946" and roleplay normally?

No, look up countries that existed during 1939. Pick one (that has not already been picked.) Make the claim to the country in the appropriet map claims thread, state a color for it, and you'll be in the game.


World War 2 tech applies. Everything up to 1946 applies. Meaning all of the major companys will have jet engines. Germany and Japan will have the most, seemly because they exchange technology as often as a hooker does a job. Great Britian and America will be second, for their vast materials and funds, whilst the USSR will be last when it comes to tech, because at the time before the war Stalin didn't press much into the Military aside from infantry. (the T-34 I'm sure woulda been invented so would the Il-2 Sturmavoik,)

This Earth is primarily the whole, "what would it be like had the war had not happened." Hitler's regime is still running Germany, its as if their was a gap in time. Yet everyone was quiet and didn't expand all as much. I got the idea for it, when I was reading about the German Navy's "Z Plan." As in Germany waiting untill 1946 to start the war, so pretty much this is what it is, nothing has happened.

When you get to the board, read the rules, and the map claims rules, it should explain it all.

I have to provide some honest opinions of my own.

First, I believe that RP'ing on Invision and off-site forums isn't exactly the best way to maintain this RP project. That will isolate us from the mainstream NS community, which could be a source of feedback and extra interest down the road.

Second, it has been my personal experience that moving RP's off NS guanatrees a death sentence for any RP project. I've seen plenty of RP projects like alliance forums, Earth V, Alternate World War II, Earth III, etc. die out because of off-site RP'ing.

Third, if we keep this Earth project here at NS or I.I. we can keep interest going for this Earth 1946 project. If this project stays here at NS, then it has a far better chance of staying alive due to the potential for influx of new RP'ers and such than die a slow and painful death at off-site forums.

Just wanted to add my two cents. :)

I might have to do all my RP's here at NS, and this is one big reason why I prefer to RP here at I.I. or NS forums where I don't have any technical problems posting RP's and the like.

Also, is that what happened to E3? I logged in about three weeks later from exams and it was dead.

This board is skyrocketing. I am estimating 30-40 posts a day on a weekday, and oh lord, when me, China, and Japan went at it, it had to be some hundred + posts in that weekend.

Yeah, this board is taking off fine. Already powers are shifting (like USA just finally got a RPer, and already I could take it on).

As to newbies. It is great. If you can't RolePlay, we are willing to help. Any tech problems, we'll help out with that too. Afraid of being invaded? Na. Invasion is taken seriously, just like RL Nations.

I guess I will have to withdraw my interest in this Earth, as I can't play China like I originally planned to. I thought it'd be awesome if I could RP China invading Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, or even Russia or India. Or RP'ing China rapidly industrializing and becoming equal to the British or USA in technology and economy by 1950 or 1955, then butt heads with the USSR. :p

Unfortunately, this can't happen now because you guys apparently put Lame Burns as the player of China without letting me know when I signed up for this a while ago. :(
