I was thinking about it and I thought beside all the international intrigue and wars and the like, what nations do. I figure that if we worked together a bit we could make some things work here and there would be more to do than the normal. I know that some of this stuff has been tried before, but I think with a higher level of cooperation, and existing enthusiasm, we could really get them up and running. So I'll share with you what I've been thinking.
Football
I really love football (soccer) and it is a sport in which a lot of nations participate. I think it would be great to have not only a world cup running every once in a while, but also international tournaments (such as the euro tournaments). Also, we could set up a champions league and the like and have a football infastructure working. We could elect people to governing body positions, like a FIFA or something, and we could all have our individual FA's (Football Association). I think it would be a great little subplot.If the idea goes through, then we could decide how to RP it, because it's hard enough to RP a war, let alone a football match.
Stock Market
I think we could make this work, and have a lot more of a business conscious world. I think its very important to a nation to see it's shares and once in a while hear news about business dealings. That's what really makes or breaks a country, how is the business? Where is the money coming from? I think it would be great to run information about shares, and have nations submit there own individual shares so they can be shown at an international level.
International News
I've seen a lot of people doing it from time to time and I even employ it in my Rp'ing. It's kind of a pet project of mine to have an international news thread. That way if someone wanted to stay informed on all the events, they wouldnt have to browse threads for the information, but rather just look at the news. I of course will have links, so that one could go to each individual story if they wanted to participate. If interest picked up then I could play an anchor, and someone else could play an anchor and we could have meetings to decide which stories to cover and little stuff like that. I think there is a great flow of information on the forum, and I think if we consolidated it in a single thread, it would make things run more smoothly.
Tell me what you think, if anything. If they are bad ideas then tell me, I'm new and there are just things that I think of doing. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.
