With the reception of Warp Cannon technology from the Chronosian Imperium, the decision has been made to begin integration of these weapons into all new production Mao Zedong IIs, Prochkhorovka Fleet Carriers, Zaitsev ISDs, Relay MS Carriers, and other ships of the People's Navy, as well as into all future refits of current models. Warp Cannons will also be used as planetary defenses, once successfully tested.

Tests will begin on Warp Cannon technology, to ensure that it works at optimum levels with NDPN ships. The project is expected to take at least several months, to three years.

Testing so far, done with two ships of each class used by the NDPN, seems to be going well. Some power issues appeared on the Zaitsevs, but these were corrected by adjusting the power output of the reactors.

Testing with the Warp Cannon, standard and Super is continuing as we speak, as we are fine tuning the standard weapons to work with our equipment and our present antimatter reactors. Tests are proceeding as planned, performance seems to be just as good, if not slightly better, than standard turbolasers.

The installation of a Super Warp Cannon on a Mao Zedong II, and testing subsequent as such, seems to be proceeding well, but power outputs have been tweaked extensively due to the extreme demands of the cannon, and have necessitated the installation of a second antimatter reactor.

Testing continues well. A few hiccups in firing the cannons; we had to adjust the diameter of the beam and the targeting mechanisms, but all is well. Tests on drones and targets indicate exceptional power, and after fixes, great accuracy.

The Super Warp Cannon tests are becoming a fan favorite. Especially amongst the younger staff. We blew up a few asteroids with them; now, we're cutting our teeth on bigger objects, like planets that are unfit for colonization or terraforming. One has been selected for such tests.

-Somewhere in the New Territories-

The NDS Jim Morrison sat in orbit around the planet I-23. A stubborn, godforsaken dirtball, it had defied all attempts to terraform it, had no intelligent life, and certainly was the size of Earth, but its position too far away from any major star ensured it would be nigh near impossible to use.

Except for weapons testing.

The overzealous firing team stood at the control console of the Super Warp Cannon, which since its installation in the ship, had been the subject of much speculation and maintenance. The scientists had been monitoring the tests, they had gone well. Now, it was the time to fire upon a full-sized planet.

The team was anxious.....they wanted to get the test over with, and blow something up. However, despite this, they had to wait- the science team had to get their scientific equipment ready. They did so.....

...and the countdown began. "3...2....1...."

"GO!"

The man at the button, chomping his cigar, pushed it down with relish. A whirring inside, and a hum.....was replaced by a violent flash, a crackling and a rumbling, as of thunder. A momentous gleam of light raced down the tube, crackling with energy and zooming at epic velocities and surging at greater flows......

...and then it left the barrel. It surged towards I-23, slamming into the surface and in a brilliant explosion, sundering the planet's surface in half, and seconds later, sundering the planet in two with a violent explosion.

the crew cheered, and downed cans of Sapporo beer carted into the control room for the occasion. The scientists were joyed as well, the tests proved quite successful, and it did not tax the reactor or cause any damage as thought.

Now, they charged it up. It took the better part of 39 minutes to charge back to 100% capacity.....but by now, it was understood, this was not a weapon to screw with.

Now, with the major Warp Cannon types tested....tihe time came to integrate them into the fleet.

Soon, the program began.....getting the shipyards to add Warp Cannons, standard and super, to their new lineup was simple enough. Some modifications in ship size to accomidate reactors and the complex Super Cannons-added onto Mao Zedong II's and Prochkhorovka Fleet Carriers-were needed, but otherwise, things went well.

Modifing existing ships was harder, after all, gutting out existing hardware and adding in new stuff would take a while. And, adding Super Warp Cannons would take a few months at least.....good thing that replicators were available, because this was gonna take a bit.

Meanwhile, Jack Cortes and Marshal Shinseki stopped bickering for once, and began to earnest approve funding for several new "Military Reservations"-Forge Worlds, basically. Both artificial Death Star like constructs, and existing planets modified to the core, they would be placed in strategic locations and heavily defended, and devoted to making many products, not just one thing-a fault of the original Forge Worlds. Worlds were soon being scouted out by the Army, and candidates were being made....

Six Military Reservations were selected in the New Territories and on Pluto. Conversion began soon enough....

...as for naval matters, things were going well.

Things are moving along....one, two worlds have been made, and are committed (SIC) to the production of People's Guardians.

As the integration of Warp Cannon technology is continuing, plans are underway to begin manufacture of Planetary Cannons for added defense. With the recent breakthroughs in singularity reactors, power grids and foundations are being laid for the building of these cannons on every major world in New Dornalia, including Earth, Luxembourgia, New Leningrad, New Wuhan, and other major colony worlds, as well as the budding worlds in the New Territories.

The construction of the Planetary Cannons was underway, as reactors and weapons housings were being made. Mobile units were also being thought of, as well; not that mobile, but at least movable enough to provide fire where needed.

As for the ships, many ships were now featuring Warp Cannons and Super Warp Cannons. Only a few had to be upgraded now.....

The rest of the ships, meanwhile, were having Singularity drives installed. This would not only improve the firing rate of the cannons, but also aid in their power output.

The mass integration of Warp Cannons into the fleet and the construction of Warp Cannons to defend planets has been finished. They will begin operation within days......
