Synthetic (Gecko) Mutation Project Announced

Random Kingdom

Some 30-50 years ago, an ICBM hit the former capital of Confusion City... and wiped it out. Later in RK history, two uncommon geckos strayed into the radioactivity... and mutated into powerful intelligent lifeforms. Now all of the so-called Geckoids are extinct, and the uncommon gecko species is overpopulated. Random Kingdom's humans are overworked and overexpended on mammoth projects that geckoids could do with ease.

Institutes in Random Kingdom are now researching what could be a real Philosopher's Stone - transmuting worthless animals into an intelligent workforce. They plan to do this by attempting to find and collect the radiation the geckos were exposed to, amplifying it (it will probably have lost some of its effect over time) and bombarding an uncommon gecko with it.

However, protestors are fearing that another Geckoid Rebellion could happen due to the initial anger and hatred observed in natural geckoids.

OOC: Been playing Fallout 2?

IC: “Geckos huh? Well, you don’t see that everyday…do we have any anti-reptile weapons?”

“No sir.”

“Damn…that would have been cool”

OOC: Been playing Fallout 2?
OOC: No. I created the geckoid race ages ago, originally as an RP device to make my nation more interesting (by replacing the humans with mutated geckos). They even had their own nation once, Geckratonia, but with wars and other incidents it fell apart. All the geckoids are now dead.

Ah, well, then accept my belated congratulations on an interesting idea :)

OOC: The Philosophers stone? Hm; could be of interest to my Royal Alchemical Society...

OOC: The Philosophers stone? Hm; could be of interest to my Royal Alchemical Society...
OOC: Metaphorically speaking. I was referring to the idea of converting national animals into intelligent lifeforms as being similar to the "metal > gold" idea.
