[OOC] NS-II news service?

This is a general question to everyone. As I have been absent from time to time, I may have missed things. I ask this, though: has there ever been an attempt to create an NationStates International News Service? You know, where nations would submit pressing news and it would be categorized and databased with proper links and all that jazz. Just a random thought.

I think It would be very cool, although it would take a dedicated person(s) to keep up with all the I.I. stuff, and any Earth or other RP groups would not be included right?

Very cool idea, but as The Silver Sky noted, it might be difficult to put into practice. Still, it would be well worth it when it was.

Hey people, this needs more thoughts than it's getting, I'm leaving for a 18 day trip to Arizona in August, this could help out me and people in my situation.
It would be good if each nation who wanted to do this created the news in their siggy and then gave a link to it to one person, this would be added to a list of nations.
Thus you can have an Internation Incidents National Television or Newspaper, in which the nations themselves are responsible for info and updates and not this one person. Just this one person to act a librarian would be needed.
Here's an idea. Use the NSwiki thing. Someone only needs to link to it from here, and everyone can update it, so it doesn't have to rely on any one person. People already have many NSwikis of their own, so it wouldn't have to work that hard to be very popular in my opinion.
Good point, though hopefully no one will mess with it and it could become a popular way to access the info, once people decide on a page and what to do that is.

I'd be happy to get this off the ground and all, but I'm not very good with the whole NSWiki thing (I had hard time getting my factbook in place).

There are a fair number of nations who RP their own nations news from time to time in order to show certain events through the eyes of their own nations media... but it's obviously not the same as this. The biggest problem is working out exactly what would make it into the news as everyone has their own views on what is interesting or important.
But I don't think this should stop anyone from trying.

Perhaps instead of a single entity reporting all of the news, nations can create their own news agencies and report domestic news that the I.I. News can link to while also reporting international events and conflicts.

To me, that's the only effective way of doing this. Thinking it over, a massive IINews network would be so over-consuming and so....BIG....that it would be too much for one person--hell, a group of people--to handle effectively. As such, reporting on news through links to national news threads would be the simplest solution I can come up with. And even that would be a big undertaking.
