\Mueller-Tran International Space Association - MT-ISA

Lanquassia
07-07-2005, 04:20
Proposed: That an alliance of economies, as opposed to one, is better able to fund and create a near-earth space program for contemporary technology levels to our own, and that I am looking for said partners willing to cooperate for the purpose of exploring and exploiting near-earth space, I am forming the Mueller-Tran International Space Association, with a headquarters at the new (And still being constructed/expanded) Ricksburough International Spaceport, in Lanquassia.

Lanquassia has the technology, we have the drive, we have the money and infrastructure, but not most of the resources, or enough personell - and we would not want to venture into such a territory as Space alone.

OOC: I'm looking for people willing to work in a Research, Trade, Development and Operating coalition specifically for the purpose of a space program. If you have the resources and manpower and such for a project, but not enough money - so long as you provide a fair share, I'll take you on. Our goals don't even have to be the same. If you just want to put sattilites up there, well, thats on the goal for the MT-ISA. I'm going to build O'Neil Space Colonies, personally...

...and yes, thats something that CAN be done with MT and Post-Modern Technology, without going too far into the realm of 'science fantasy' and staying inthe realm of 'science fact'.

From the Desk of Pheanixian Space Program Director, James Gant,

We extend a warm greeting to the people of Lanquassia. The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Pheanix has authorized the negotiation of our entry into the Mueller-Tran International Space Association or MT-ISA for short. The Pheanixian Space Program or PSP for short, has been authorized to lent its facilities, resources and personnel to help further along the coalition goals. Further more the Commonwealth House of Lords has just grant us a rather large budget for the express purpose of acquiring more resources, personnel, or anything else we may need to contribute better to the coalition. We hope that we can make this dream of your and now our a reality soon enough.

Sincerely,
James Gant...

OCC: Well my nation can provide a rather large amount of resources, manpower and money. Also we have put our entire Space Program under the jurisdiction of the Association to ease up on the bureaucracy, although they still answer to the Prime Minister and his Cabinet.

To: PSP Director James Grant
From: Minister of Space Leo Dengler

Director Gant;

The Republic of Lanquassia thanks the Commenwealth of Pheanix for joining in the MT-ISA, and I look forward to working with your nation to further ourselves along to our shared goal of reaching out to the stars.

If you do not mind arranging an exchange program between our scientists and engineers, we could also arrange a tour between the two of us all the facilities at our disposal. I fear that delays in construction at Ricksburough would make a trip there to view a finished space center pointless, but a visit to our Republican Research Institute for Space Exploration and Exploitation might prove enlightening.

If not for the Chaos Years and the lack of natural resources within Lanquassia, we would have long had a presence in space, but President Blake - and I - would feel better if we would have friendly company up there.

Signed,
Leo Dangler, Ministry of Space.

OOC: Sorry for taking so long to reply, I went straight to sleep when I got home yesterday, then woke up and went straight to work. :=/

OCC: dont worry about it, it happens to all us from time to time

From the Desk of Pheanixian Space Program Director, James Gant,

Thats sounds like a good idea, an expection of our facilities, that way we could better understand our capabilities as a whole. I couldnt have think of a better idea thant that my friend, but wouldnt it be better if we concentrated our best and brightest for each part of the project and sent them to work under the same roof. By my experience that has always seems to work better as we dont make the same mistakes and/or discoveries twice. Your lack of resources isnt a problem, our Commonwealth is brimming with both internal and external resources as well as the economic power to aquire whatever materials we might need. Also the Ministry of Defense has advise me to tell you that by the nature of our research they have assign a whole Legion of Praetonians to mainatin our facilities secure and protected at all times. Although we dont beleive that they are going to be nescesary the Parliament always like to be cautious when dealing with such matters. I shall depart for your country the day after tomorrow as to await your reply and permision to enter your airspace in a yet to be determined military plane, we shall see each other soon to discuss the future of the coalition and our space programs.

Sincerely,
James Gant

OCC: A Legion of Praetonians is an elite military unit that especializes in defense, not loosing a single target they have been ordered to defend since their founding, although they can attack they dont perform as well on the offensive. By the way my nation has the whole shuttle thing cover, we have been sending satellites and people to space for over a decade now, so if you need that kind of technology we can provide it. What I was thinking of doing was possibly a Space Station before making a colony on the moon as you suggested on your first post.

From: Stephen Hughes, Acting Minister of Space, Minister of Technology
To: PSP Director James Grant

I shall be glad to give you a tour of our facilities, as they are drawing closer and closer to completion. We are being forced to outsource some of the basic technologies due to a snag in our home production, but these are minor items, and even if the lights are on but nobody's home, its one hell of an impressive display of lights.

If you wish to send your best people to one of our facilities, I suggest you do it as soon as possible. My own experiance with scientists is that they tend to get tetchy if they don't have their lab EXACTLY how they want it, and that would involve reconstruction.

Your Praetonians would be welcome in our facilities, so long as they would not mind working with a company of our Special Forces JOAT squads. We will also treat the entire Ricksburough International Spaceport as International Soil for MT-ISA nations.

Our first goal is to begin the construction of orbital survey sattelites, to begin the precise mapping of both Lanquassia proper and the continent of Manium, where we hold a colony, and other locations that the orbits we can place these sattilites into would be able to see. We can discuss, in person, the exact goals after that when we meet.

Signed,

Steve Huges.

I'm going to build O'Neil (sp?) Space Colonies, personally...OOC: Oh, man, we have to talk. O'Neill colonies are my goal as well (that, and undersea colonies [which is why we've been using nuclear explosives to blast out caverns underneath the Pacific Ocean floor]).

We're probably ahead of you. Look at my Ad Astra (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=411882) thread, and note that the last post was two months ago. I've gone ten years or so past that last post, which means I've ... I'm about to ... aw, you should just TG me about this, it's classified. Let's just say that I think you'll be thrilled.
...and yes, thats something that CAN be done with MT and Post-Modern Technology, without going too far into the realm of 'science fantasy' and staying inthe realm of 'science fact'.My goal, too. I've promised myself not to use anything that couldn't be done with pre-2000 technology. That, IMNSHO, does include O'Neill colonies and much, much more... :D

OOC: My AIM is Bengaley2 if you want to talk realtime, and I just TGed you in-game. Lets talk. Meanwhile, I'll read the thread.

But would you be interested in joining hte MT-International Space Association?

You can use our launch facilities in the Pacific and Indian Oceans (mostly equatorial, for the highest possible launch capacity to non-polar orbits). Feel free to contract with us for the use of any of our launch vehicle designs, including some of the designs in that thread that aren't "completed" yet (like the Jupiter II and III super-heavy lift launch vehicles (SHLLV's). The Pegasus reusable space shuttle (RSS) is also flying, and we are about to launch our first Jupiter-Vulcan II NPPUS-equipped boosters en route to construct our first Argo deep-space exploratory vehicles (DSEV's). But there is still a lot left to do...

Actually, upon reading Ad Astra, I was wondering if I could use your program as a model for the Lanquassian Space Agency, and therefore the majority workings of the MTISA.

Vintovia would like to join this union, we need a technologically advanced space division to defend against the evil forces of Rovonia. Our $2 trillion Reaserch and Education Budget is yours.
