The Old Empire(Attn: Gaian Ascendancy)

Deep within Gaian Territory...

Deep space, one of the loneliest places within the knowledge of any race. Light is dimmed by the vast distances between stars, and nothing on value exists within the vast expanses between galaxies. Yet in this place, thousands of light years from anything resembling matter something momentus was about to take place. Some that would change the destinies of entire galaxies, and perhaps the universe.

It started small, as many things must and often do. A ripple across space, spreading slowly but steadily. Spacetime bent and stretched, at first the distortion only created a gravity the size a decent planet might make. A few moments later it increased to the mass shadow of a Jovian planet, then again to a medium sized star. The center of the disturbance was writhing, spacetime screaming out in agony as immeasurable force was exerted upon it from far beyond the physical realm. The effect enlarged again, creating a dent in the fabric of space worthy of a black hole. Spacetime could only take so much punishment, and slowly a rift began to appear as the fabric of reality torn like wet paper.

Beyond the tear was a formless grey space, infinite in ways that normal space could never compare to. Still spacetime was pushed, and the hole widened even furthur, the rent accelerating in all directions at the speed of light. The massive vortex continued to expand for ten hours, once it began expanding at lightspeed it hit its gravitational peak having the equivelent gravity to a supermassive black hole. At this point the surrounding galaxies began to feel the pull of the Dimensional Vortex, after ten hours the expansion stopped, a Gate had been established. As soon as the expansion stopped the gravity cut off abruptly, and the spatial distortions stopped as the Gate stabilized.

Through came the first of many ships to come, a small scout ship heavily laden sensors and faster then any other ship. It didn't raise its shields not did it arm weapons, it merely looked and recorded. Then it begant to broadcast, but not upon any known frequency of anything real, the broadcast was a probe upon the very fabric of reality. Anything within a billion lightyears would reflect its own personal image back upon spacetime, a radar so advanced that only the most powerful of civilizations would realize that they had been scanned.

Then the 100 km long ship sat, and waited. It knew that someone would come, and that desicions would be made. The Old Empire of Scellia had arrived.

OOC: For those who are doing other RPs with me this is not the same Empire, but one that is better suited to RP with Gaian Ascendancy and the other super huge intergalatic nations.

"...a large scan source along the Meshie Void Expanse."

Lord Tsutsumi looks down and really cocks an eye. The indications were that a vast dimensional gate had been established within the Void, and something was trying to contact in an open and general manner, the area around it.

The fact that the Void was deep within the Archonis Supercluster meant the obvious to the Ascendancy defenses, with the realm at war with the Dark Eternals over a large expanse, meant a threat the Ascendancy couldn't ignore.

But Tsutsumi also considered this as something more.

"Inform First Contact Advisory to send a small expedition to the location in the Meshie Void. Inform also to keep an eye on hostile acts by the Dark Eternals due to the event here, we don't need a backdoor ripped open upon us."

The Tech nods. "Aye milord." ..and sends the message.

---

A mere two hours later, a small flotilla of ten warships surrounded upon a Lord Excellency A-SSD, the large Warship meant to equal the presence of the large signal array.

They then left, under the command of a Admiral Manotaka Ward, and arrived in a display of horizontal beams of light expanding a few hundred kilometers away from the unknown object.

The Admiral ordered weapons standby but nothing else. No fighters or such. He then waited to see what the first response was.

A large Dark Eternal fleet arrvied to ask the aide of Scellia in the war agianst the Ascedants or weather they would remian neutral in the war ofr go to the aide of the Ascendants.

A message was sent to Scellia:
"Scellia weather you remain nestrual in this war is up to you if you do we shall not bother you, or you could join us in our war against the Ascendants and be given rewards of entire galaxies and also untold riches."

"Should we be suprised?" Admiral Ward commented. He then ordered battle stations and also to send the following message.

:: ~ Is it indeed a share of the riches? Or another enslavement. Who is the true enemy here, and where does the conflict end if 'they' emerge victorious?

What happens when the ally turns on you when there is no other enemy for them to fight? And when does betrayal turn into genocide.

Search your feelings and know that 'this' is what we stand against. If all the cosmos was meant to be in darkness, then the cosmos would 'never' had been made in the first place!

This is NOT the time that the Darkness should prevail, but the Balance 'and' the Light!

Regards,

Admiral Manotaka Ward

The Dark Eternals responded:
"Light is made by the stars not by life forms.'
Scellia
07-07-2005, 03:14
The scout responds immediately, broadcasting on the same frequency using the same method as the Gaian and Dark Eternal ships had been.

What you call riches are dust, petty playthings compared to real power. What interests us is intelligence, above and beyond that of material wealth. There are only ten of us within easy travelling distance of this Gate, convice any one of us to join you. This matter has been deemed appropriate to decide on a ship scale, each of us will make a desicion to join you or not. It is suggested that those who wish to continue existing do not enter the Gate.

The speech is delivered in a flat monotone, deep and rich in voice and overwhelming in power. The multitonal voice has no inflections nor any accent, all forms of communication using that particular transmission method is drowned out by the massive power of the Scellian broadcast.

Message from the Dark Eternal Admiral:

"We can offer you great ships of might and entire galaxies and great technologies in exchange for oyur services."
Scellia
07-07-2005, 03:43
Once again, what are galaxies to an Empire that spans thousands of Dimensions. If we wanted raw material, then we would take it with or without your support. Once again, you appeal to the base emotion of greed. We are about to deem you beyond hope and beyond the reaches of higher thinking, disabuse us of this notion quickly.
The Scandinvans

The Dark Eternal was impressed by them and replied them in response:
"Truly you are an enlightened people instead know we offer you something else such as immortality."
Scellia
07-07-2005, 04:01
You are not wise to think that any race as advanced as those represented here are anything but immortal. Mayhap the body may be killed be the ravages of machines and the mind annhilated by that which is foreign, but the passage of time affects us less then space itself. True immorality is a delusion of the lesser minded, for there is always something more powerful then whatever bestwoed its so-called immorality.

Once again we state, it is intelligence we find the most impressive. Through the ages stars die, planets turn to dust and all corporeal forms become nothing more then vessels for the mind. In the end it is the mind that controls the material, and is thusly placed above all else.

Admiral Ward listened to the greedy impositions of the Dark Eternals, and chuckled at the inital retort back. He also was interested in the elder race's speak, and kept mindful.

He had a response as a Gaian could only do, for those both listening.

:: ~ If the stars made us, then why do you seek to conquer them so utterly, leaving no room for others under another name? We may indeed call our realm and our allies under a single name, but 'that' was done with a true mindset of a unified and respected body by all sides, even when the terms and terse was off at time.

None in our realm was coerced or forced in any way into the Ascendancy Sphere. Your version is to send vessels in untold numbers as your form of diplomacy.

..and you planned and seeked our destruction due to the actions of the allies that helped make us who we are now, for nothing more than trying to stop your overlording ways.

As for the rest, we will not taike the time to try and impress a culture, that obviously already can be determined, outstrips our own. It fact, it seems your civilization is what we need to look 'up' to in our own travals to become an Inter-Dimensional civilization. We ourselves wish to one day leave the confines of this Universe, for others in exploration and friendship.

For that is what our founding says we are, friendship, extended by hand, and only enemies when forced into such. We have no compunctions about starting wars if the cause is just. Such is not done on a whim, it takes a degree of dishonoest action on the part of others to make us conduct such extremes.

The promisses of the Dark Eternals are beyond hollow. They promise no better than they have done to the races they have enslaved. Can they then retort back and call themselves worthy to be offering, when they 'take' with too much greed?

For the part of the relations we would seek, know that if there is such between us, and your mysterious race, good Lords, we will earn it. Plain and simple.

For now, we offer the hand of welcome, into 'our' realm, the Ascendancy. ~ ::

--

By now, all Ascendancy assets from the ten warships were deployed, but they did not attack the Dark Eternals outright. Rather they held their defensive ground, while signals back to Homeworld indicated need for two Droid-Kushan Fleets.

Know we are impressed Ascendancy, you make cogent arguements for why we should join you. However there is almost always two sides to every event, and we wonder what the Dark Eternals say to your evaluation of their motives. The most advanced form of intelligence is disagreement, followed by discourse that is both entertaining an enlightening. We will await the Dark Eternals response.

OOC: How big is the A-SSD?
Gaian Ascendancy
07-07-2005, 06:43
((OC- Actually a series of huge warships averaging between 35 kilometers, and the largest at 500 kilometers. And the automated and power systems are 'well' efficient enough to effectively control these behemoths.

Big fat targets they are 'not'. And forget the Death Star run weakness either, danke.

Check my nation webportal site in the Special Assets section to learn more. =^^=

And mind ye, these are 'not' my largest assets in my arsenal. ))

--

Ward also wiated, wanting to see how far 'they' would go. He also soon learned of the breakdown of the Ascendancy line along one entire Galaxy defense line, and the fact that the Core Galaxies were under dire threat.

No matter what happened next, the fleet here would leave after the next exchange to protect their very homes.

07-07-2005, 06:46
OOC: After the next exchange I plan on inviting some of your ships back through the Gate, and see what will be supporting you. You only have to send a few, but you will get to see one of the Old Empire Cityships.

07-07-2005, 20:18
OOC: Scandinvans, I need a reply. You've been on, to make this go faster if I don't get a reply soon I will assume that the Dark Eternals stand mute.
The Scandinvans
07-07-2005, 20:41
OCC: Nay it isn;t.

The Dark Eternals sent his following message in resopnse:
"What if we offer you eternal glory and honor and remberance of our race as long as we last. If we our Empire falls and is destroyed the memories of our achieveements and we will make sure you are also rembered with us as well. But, yet what is there if there is only light shall there nerver be night again? We will not allow we shall make sure there is also a balance and without also there will be no balance for light in the universe."

Admiral needn't speak anymore, for a moment later a single destroyer sized Hikari Treeship arrives. A message is sent with...

:: ~ This is Foreign Advisor Peorth Morisato. I will be taking over talks here. The fleet present is ordered to the Core Worlds defense line in response to the Dark Eternal breakthrough aimed at the very Core Galaxies. ~ ::

Admiral Ward responds by ordering her forces to depart immediately, as the ten vessels and support craft Fold jump five minutes later.

That leaves only the single Treeship alone in the midst of the enemy and the still unknown guests.

Peorth replies of her own... ":: ~ We are not here to mince words. I am here for an understanding. While words are minced, souls on both sides are dying, and 'that' is not a price for any amount of words for any cause.

Words and blood mix not well.

And the truth is upon the Universal Memory for all to read from. 'It' speaks better than either of us can. ~ ::"

The memory of the universe, an interesting concept. We shall return...

The scout vanishes, leaving the Dimension entirely. It reappears far away, millions of light years distance and starts to watch the events that unfolded millions of years ago. It races forward, collecting data at superluminal speeds, after two hours it knows all.

We have seen the atrocites committed, and you shall have each of our desicions. Each of us shall respond yea or nay to your plees, though none of us favor the Dark Eternals who represent the worst intelligence can offer.

Lady Peorth waited, and then when the time came, she had a feeling that one 'aye' was far more than is simply seemed.

She then offered over comm..

:: ~ We are who we are. We are no more or less. The one that said 'aye', we await your meaning of this with our minds open, even if ill prepared beyond understanding.

We still await to learn. ~ ::

OOC: If the war is over before I can help the least I can do is help you rebuild.

We are the residents of the Cityship Arcturus, our fleet shall support you and drive back the Dark Eternals. Know Dark Eternals, a state of war exists between us, now go and never return to this place.

From the gaping hole in spacetime pours forth the hordes of the Arcturus, from hundreds of minor combatants mere hundreds of kilometers in length to a single massive Command Dreadnought that measured a light minute long and resembled nothing more then a massive spearhead.

If the Dark Eternals hadn't left whatever was left was quickly annhilated by the massive fleet. Then the Arcturus arrived, and all other ships shrank into oblivion compared to its awesome bulk. The Arcturus was 12960000000 km long, exactly 12 light hours from prow to stern and five light hours tall by two light hours tall.

Our fleet departs, expect them to aid your home soon. We shall process the nearest uninhabited system to produce more ships, please transmit one that you do not intend to use. It will not be there once we are finished.

The massive fleet surounding the Arcturus vanishes completely, having left the Dimension entirely, within five minutes they will be at the main battle to help the Gaians.

OOC: Try not to let the battle finish without me, unless it has by this post. If it has then the Arcturus will help you rebuild.
The Scandinvans
08-07-2005, 03:14
Then the Dark Eternals sent to the other cityships:
"There other things we can offer you other things such as the knowledge of a empire that is a billion years old and access to all of it's records and discoveries and also that of the Dark Eternals who are a rcae that has been spacefaring for a billion years."
Scellia
08-07-2005, 03:25
OOC: If there were any DE ships around they ceased to exist when the Arcturus arrived, so where are you tranmitting from?
The Scandinvans
08-07-2005, 03:33
OCC: Transmitting from a ship in the area, but the Dark Eternal ships long ago in their conquests fought a race that used dimensional weapons and in that war in order to lower casulties began installing dimensional anchors and shields that prevented dimensional weapons from destroying them and it was followed that designs ever after that.
Scellia
08-07-2005, 03:51
OOC: Thats nice, it still doesn't stop all power levels, just the ones that those people used. If you're still here then the people obviously didn't have the power to burn through your protection, these ships do, in spades.
The Scandinvans
08-07-2005, 03:57
OCC: Problem is thaty a billlion years of constant war would have allowed us to develop technologies to become even furtehr to survie these effects the shop is everloaded and damaged but not destroyeed.
Gaian Ascendancy
08-07-2005, 04:15
((OC- And the problem is that the Dark Eternals are being Gmed a touch too much. I 'did' allow the war to turn against us so badly, so lets not make them 'that' infinite that such a large coalition of nations couldn't beat it, which is rediculous. the Ascendants and Eternals are just as old as the Dark Eternals and you don't see me making my Ascendants that invincible.

If a fleet is destroyed, it's destroyed. You already did that to several of my Fleet Legions, and I didn't complain. =--= ))

----

Lady Peorth smiles at the arrival of the new ally.

She asks over comm.. ":: ~ Under who's command do you wish the armada here under? We wish not to impune on boundries.

As for the war, we don't see it ending anytime soon. The first focus is to push the Dark Eternals out of our Supercluster and recover from several constant months of heavy fighting. ~ ::"
The Scandinvans
08-07-2005, 04:24
OCC: What I was basically trying to say is that now would be time to strike when it weakened badly and it would be far easier to destroy and also more coventional means are more efective agianst my ships is because I don't really like multi-deminsonal weaponary.
Gaian Ascendancy
08-07-2005, 04:39
((OC- Then take a look at what is happening. =^^=

Let's also not forget that you mentioned the DE held a realm of millions of galaxies. That means even with dedicated assaults from several nations and alliances, such a war would take a 'long' time to resolve.

Unless you had 'other' ideas.))
The Scandinvans
08-07-2005, 05:04
OCC: Sorry about that confusion I thiguht DE was some sort of short name for some sort of dimensional weapon and also the Dark Eteranls ships need to be directed fired upon before destroying so if they have some of dimensional field around that gaint ship it is partaially nulfied the fields and anchors were made to presver the ships from that kind of attack, but if I say were to hit with a beam of very great strength or neough times the Darl Eternal ships will collaspe and also remebe the Dark Eternals are only on command ships and may fight on ground in their own host but rarely do they come in all the ships of a fleet.
Scellia
08-07-2005, 07:56
OOC: Dimensional weapons are simply more powerful versions of normal weapons, and no your fields don't work by making my weapons none functional. Just because you don't like my chosen weapon isn't my fault and I don't need to change because of it. The weapons are so powerful that they overload your anchors and fields and any other technobabble that defeats my weapons, my dimensional weapons are much more powerful then any simple real weapon. If you want to claim that your fields are anything other then a version fo shields that effect dimensional weapons then I'll say that I have suppressors that block your fields and dimensional scissors that cut your anchors. For every technobabble solution you find I can find a counter.

We will help you recover, for the facilites aboard this ship are more then enough for the task fo repairing any single system, or even entire galaxies. Though we ask again, is there an unihabited system that we may consume, and another after that. If this ship is to be put on a wartime setting it must have raw resources, if it must be put on that setting for so long in must have much in the way of raw resources.
Gaian Ascendancy
08-07-2005, 08:07
The Ascendancy gives locations of thirty dead systems long determined little more than resource points (as if the Ascendancy doesn't have enoigh... never can have enough. =^^= ) ...that the Scellia Elders could use, all along the main axis of advance that would be needed to reclaim from the enemy.

If needed, over a thousand were labled, out of hundreds of thousands of semi-dead ones. There actually were in the Archonis Supercluster, such dense pockets of habitible systems, that they numbered in the millions. There was ample room for all needs.

The Ascendancy concern was actually, euphemistically noted, an environmental concern.
Scellia
08-07-2005, 08:23
We shall move to the this system, our forces have just liberated it and it shall place this ship ship near the front. We will help you, though you may wish that the DE attacks through that Gate, it will bring the entirety of the Empire down on them, something which would end this war in less then a month.

The Arcturus, along with the remaining escort fleet, vanishes to interdimensional space. Within twenty minutes the behemoth ships arrives at the sytem, and begins to devour it. A massive gravitation distortion appears at the prow of the ship, equivelent to a large black hole in gravitation power. Sluggishly at first and then faster the system is pulled into the ship via the gravitational distortion, even before the first planet arrives the Arcturus dips into the reserves it alwasy keeps. Deep within its bowels the industrial centers that comprise more then 50% of its mass start to construct ships of all classes. Entire fleets are constructed within the ships centers, replacements for the losses that will be inevitably taken.

OOC: That would be fun, if you could get the DE to launch an attack on the Gate, though it would end the war rather fast.
