[Earth II] Operation: Apocalypse Rising ATTN: Yelm

It had been a stormy night in Tokyo. The terrorist attack on Kobe was still being cleaned up ( remember I am going to enter a civil war, I just havn't posted anything yet ). There sat 2 Men, the Emperor and the director of the Japanese Intellegence Network. More were comming, Generals and advisors that is. The two were speaking of the latest terror attack, and that the people wanted revenge and they would need to think something up to keep Japan from going into a anarchist Civil War.

JIN Director - Emperor, we need to keep the population bussy and to keep them happy. They want bloodshed as compensation for Kobe..we need to blame somebody and convince the world, or atleast our population into believing whoever we pick to be behind the atta...

Emperor - Silence. I have heard enough...this is the only thing I have been hearing from everyone...I am well aware about what is happening, what do you want me to do? Stand on my hands and shit out gold?..

JIN Director - I am sorry Emperor...but it is true..and yes it is true you know it too..but who? Who should we link to the terror attack on Kobe?

Hours past by and the others, Generals and Advisors, arrived. They had been going through a list of people, organizations..but that wouldn't be enough. They would need a nation, Japan wanted a war to consempate for Kobe..after heavy consideration, and secret international transgressions, they had decided to pick the nation of Yelm...

The next morning..

There was a stir in the Empire, troops were being piled onto ships, reserves were replacing them at there defence posts alongside the National Guard. The majority of the Air Force was in Myanmar during the immediate moment. They had been ordered to send 75% of all jets just outside the strait of Girbralter.

The Myanmar fleet would commence it all by mass air raids, and the Japanese fleet would shed blood on the beaches of Yelmish Europe.

The Population was unaware of where the troops would be sent, but knew well what they were going to do..and thus the Japanese people started celebrations, thinking there Emperor had found the swines who had attacked Kobe.

Now, the only thing left is to invade Yelm, eliminate Yelmish leaders and armed forces, and to occupy Yelmish land.

OOC: Yea, I'm starving so quality of the post..may..be..a..tad..bit....yea..bad..anyways, I'll be TG'ing NG just so I can get through Girbralter. Also, nothing is really happening, as far as all of the Earth II nations know, I am just staying dormant..like I did during the World War.

OOC: Uhm, actually Gibraltar belongs to me. I inherited it when Kriegorgrad surrendered awhile back. As far as granting access to the Med. feel free to pass to and fro, I am not blockading any nations ships or planes at the moment.

Heavily Encrypted Message
--------------------------

To: Pyshchotika
From: Marshal Jiangwei, Leader of the NRMC (Neuvo Rican Marine Corps)

Usually the United Khanates would pit themselves against such an attack as this. But due to current circumstances we would like to aid you. We have 2 heavy fleets based on Spitzbergen which can head south to aid you. Our massive naval forces in Iran can attack Africa. Provided that there is no great international outcry regarding this attack, our forces will gladly assist you - with your consent, of course.

Outside of Girbralter

The Myanmar Fleet had arrived a day before, with the Japanese Fleet just another day behind. It took awhile for everything to be logged for Hawdawg and for everything to be checked. After the day had gone by, Hawdawg officials allowed the Myanmar fleet through. No official decleration of war had been made with Yelm yet, and the Myanmar fleet would arrive in 2 - 3 days, and Pyschotika would inform Yelm of a declaration of war 2 hours before the bombing raid.

SIC

The Myanmar fleet had passed Greece and Turkey a few hours ago. Yelm was within a few hours reach, the fleet would advance and would declare war on the Yelmish people two hours before the bombing, but would warn them of the bombing only an hour before it commenced. The Japanese Fleet would arrive, after the Myanmar Fleet stopped for the Japanese Fleet to catch up before passing Greece and Turkey, an hour after the bombings commenced, and would launch troops ships to the beaches of Romania and Northern Bulgaria.

An hour later

The Emperor had written a Decleration of War the hour after he decided to invade Yelm. He had held onto it untill the time was right, and that time was now. He released the telegram to the Yelmish Government.

To: The Yelmish Government
From: The Emperor of Japan

The Japanese Government, after heavy consideration, has come to a conclusion to the argument. We, The Imperial Republic of Japan, hereby declare war on the Yelmish People.

Another telegram is to follow after a time paradox has passed.

Sincerely,
The Emperor of Japan.

OOC: Well, funnily enough Lay asked me to help against Yelm too.....

Beijing

"So, how are our neighbours progressing?"

Defence Minister Qong smirked as he activated the display. "As you can see Excellency, our satellites have them in European waters. They're remarkably good when they want to be."

Dragon-Premier Suun nodded. "Yes, I know. Have we been officially asked to get involved?"

Foreign Minister Bei shook his head. "Not as yet, but we can use the Layartebian invitation as an excuse to sail around if you'd like..."

"Prepare the 7th Fleet for departure; we'll send them on a tour of the Mediterranean. Should Japan need us, they'll be well-placed. Unfortunately it will take them a few days to get underway, but we can't expect to be everywhere at once."

OOC:

Technical thing..yea I know I havn't posted numbers, I will before the bombing commences. ( BTW, the Bombing is more like...off shore cannon making pretty holes on the beach. )

Japan had been dormant before this sudden decleration of war, and has also stayed quite with allied nations. But, Japan was now going to war and would need to speak with those allied nations much more. Japan has changed a great deal since the last time there has been contact between an allied nation and Japan, perhaps the world has changed so too.

The Emperor picked up a phone which automatically dialed the number of the Dragon-Premier Suun's palace.

The Emperor waited as it began to ring.

OOC: Sorry for not responding to this thread, I never saw it. Can you post your invasion forces?

IC:
Warlord Grimm, a nation known as Psychotika has declared war against us. They currently have a fleet nearing our position. The Warlord looked up from his chair, Order the fleet to prepare long range missile exchanges. I want them completely obliterated. Make sure they fire the first shot however." The officer nodded and went to carry out the order.

Two of Kreynoria's defence satellites had secretly been moved into orbit over Romania and northern Bulgaria. Grand Marshal George Bryennius sent a secret communique to Warlord Grimm:

Attention. This is George Bryennius, Lord Marshal of Kreynoria. We must demand your immediate surrender. Two of our defence satellites are in geosynchrous orbit over Romania and Bulgaria, and will not hesitate to bombard them with ballistic missiles, with warheads containing anthrax, sarin, and mustard. Your fleet will also be attacked with conventional high-explosives from space, unless you immediately surrender all forces to Japan.
The telegram was wired, and Lord Bryennius returned to a chess game he was playing with a Senator.

OOC: Just fo reference Warlord Grimm is one of those crazy military genius'. He's a nutcase.

IC:

Transmission From Warlord Grimm
Are you for real? Any sort of weapons of mass destruction against the Kingdom of Yelm will be met with full nuclear retaliatory strikes. Do not think you are safe behind your wall of ballistic satellites. You are most certainable touchable. Know your place.

The Warlord immediately went to his encrypted secured line directly with the king. The king picked up, "Hello?" The Warlord spoke quickly, M'lord we have a WMD threat by the nation known as Kreynoria. I request activation of ASAT stockpiles" The king didn't speak for several seconds, obviously dumbfounded by why would a nation use WMD's during a, thus far, non WMD conflict. "Granted. I will order the activation of ASAT's around our territories. Bewary Warlord Grimm." The line went dead.

Across the territories of Yelm an urgency never before was underway. Obselete F-15E-A fighters were taken out of aircraft hangars. Two large ASAT missiles were hung on each aircraft. Using a database previously gathered, intelligence officers plotted the flight path of Kreynorian satellites. A total of 192 F-15E-A fighters were mobilized across the territories, in Africa, Europe, Antartica and even in battle torn South America. The ASAT's had a protective heat shield, effectively reducing the effectivness of lasers. To ensure even more protection the missile was given a spin prior to launch, this almost completely made lasers obselete.

Once the satellites were overhead the air bases the fightes slowly began their climb towards the target. Atleast ten fighters would hit each satellite, the ASAT wasn't known for it's accuracy. Upon the order of the Warlord the missiles were launched. Fighters who had yet to have an overhead Kreynorian satellite waited patiently.

Those that had expended their ASAT retreated back to earth to re-stock in missiles. Yelmish boomer submarines and silos were put on alert.

The Japanese fleet were only twenty minutes away from the Myanmar fleet. From what intell reports said from Marimaia and Kreynoria, the Yelmish Navy would be putting up one hell of a defence. But everything was motionless, well the guns were. People waited, sweat beading down there faces. Both the Yelmish and the Japanese. Each and every decision, breath, sigh, blink, shot, thought...it would all make a tremendous difference. Both Navys sat at there firing controls, ready to launch everything at each other at any moment.

Back in Tokyo, quick planning was being made. They needed somewhat of a new route for the men, that would invade the beaches, to take. They could either land in Greece and invade Northern Bulgaria along side of Nikolases men, or take a longer route around all the ships and into more remote land. The best decision seemed to be the one with landing on Greek soil, but who knew what would happen with whatever decision they made.

And so..the arms on the clock continued the move, a wind began to blow past..an unstopable wind..everyone wanted to stop it for only a minute...to rethink this decleration of war..to rethink how to take every breath, and when to sigh..to think how this could all be ended with no life lost...but the Japanese and Yelmish people were too proud to just abandon a fight. No...no one would be able to stop the winds...to stop time...nor would they want too either. What was to happen was to happen, and each side could only pray...and to hope..hope..the false lie of man...yet the best thing man could have...the best things bring the worst things.

And thats when a decision was made...

Japanese Admiral - " FIRE ALL MISSLES, ALL SHELLS, ALL TORPEDOES...FIRE EVERYTHING..NOW!!! "

And so it began...the onslaught of man vs man...it could never stop...never would it stop..and may the waters run scarlet with the tears of mans' flesh...and may the battle begin.

OOC: Kreynoria, DO NOT gas Yelm. He will fire back with nukes. You will fire back nukes, it will spread all around in my territories and in Nikolaos the Great's.

That means three nations very angry at you. DO NOT GAS HIM. PLEASE.

OOC: I agree with NG. I believe it would be best if we kept this conflict without resorting to WMD's.

IC:
The long range sensors went crazy with the launch of various missiles and torpedos towards the Yelmish fleet. This was the chance they had been waiting for. Immediately a retaliatory missile and torpedo attack was unleashed. A mix of Hurricane, and Heron missiles,1,053 in total was launched towards the Japanese Fleet. Two hundred and fifty (250) Mk-48 torpedos were released towards the fleet, as well as 120 submarine launched Hurricane missiles. The airbases had been put on alert ahead of time. Within minutes twelve F-225A Ultra-Stealth bombers were in the air, as well as 48 F/A-91 fighter bombers.

The aircraft were armed with a total of 144 TSSAM, which had speed of greater than mach 2, and had a range of over 100 nm. These massive missiles were launched quickly, and the aircraft quickly returned to base to be rearmed. The F/A-91's returned to base as well, escorting the bombers back with their remaining 6 AtA missiles. Aircraft onboard the carriers began taking off, and hovered over the fleet awaiting a possible enem counter-attack.

The supplies would go to various places: NG, NTG, Cotland, etc. At the same time, B-7 and B-4 bombers took off from Ireland and Iceland, loaded with long-range cruise missiles, namely AGM-86E CALCM Block III missiles. Their 1,000 mile range would be used to effectively target and systematically destroy radar and other communications equippment in Romania and Bulgaria. In total, 24 B-7B and 20 B-4A aircraft took off, armed with a total of 1,104 CALCM IIIs, (12 per B-4, 36 per B-7). All of them were to be launched between 500 and 750 miles away. 24 B-1 and 48 B-52 bombers would follow up, coming in with a total of 1,536 CALCM IIIs as well. However, the B-1s and B-52s carried the newest AGM-86F and with it, a massive, 1,200 pound incendiary warhead, meant to burst at optimum altitude and shower its target with thermite. It could, effectively, turn 1 square mile into burning flames. These would be targetting along the outer ring of the wall, creating a massive firestorm that would feed of the air circulation inside the wall, the vortex created from the inability of low-altitude air to escape effectively, and just fuel itself.

OOC: NtG, I accept the offer of stationing fighters in Greece. I hope this isn't out of line. If it is, let me know.

The Cottish planes landed in various airfields in Germanian Ukraine, Moldovia, Hungary and Yoguslavia. An additional squadron of F-15E Strike Eagles from the 559th Ground Attack Wing were heading for Greece, where they would be based on one of the Greek Air Forces bases. Right now, that squadron, the 627th Ground Attack Squadron, were flying on a direct course from Rostov in Cotland to a position 20 nautical miles off Istanbul, over the Black Sea, where they would meet up with fighters from the Greek Air Force which would guide them to the correct airfield.

Also heading for the Greek waters off Istanbul were six Cottish Tennessee class SSKs. They were some 200 nautical miles from their objective, the Bosporus strait. Two of the submarines would lay themselves in positions roughly seven nautical miles off the Bosporus, while the rest would roam around the ports of Romania and Bulgaria. Varna and Constanta were going to get some close encounters with Cottish submarines.

Rolling over the borders between Germania and Cotland, seventeen trains were heading towards various staging points in Moldovia, Ukraine, Hungary and Yoguslavia. The entirety of the 9th Army would be in position in three days.

Suun smirked as he picked up the hot-line phone.

OOC: The Holy Empire of Kreynoria has decided to heed the advice of its allies and revoke its chemical threat. We will not use WMD in this war.

IC: The remote satellite operators prepared to engage the approaching Yelmian fighters. It had not been a wise decision to make a chemical threat so early on. The satellites registered 192 F-15 fighters had been mobilized, each carrying ASAT missiles. The satellites were ordered at maximum speed to exceed altitude, and prepared their air-to-air missiles. These included Sidewinders and Patriots. They also each had one Phalanx CIWS, which was also readied. The satellites immediately began firing laser bursts at the F-15's.

The F-15's that had launched their missiles turned around and sped down back to earth. Short bursts of lasers began being fired toward the aircrafts. However, due to the speed and velocity in which the F-15's were going the lasers were becoming increasingly ineffective. A F-15E received mild damage and was grounded for repairs.

The ASAT missiles continued their course.

Yelm
23-07-2005, 01:23
OOC: Oh, yeah. Sorry for the delay, I thought you were detailing weapon's shipments to NG, Cotland etc.

Also I think you are thinking of the Guilden Wall as something like the Maginot Line. This defensive wall is much cheaper, and doesn't really house soldiers underground. Soldiers just have stations on the wall were they keep watch. Cannons, SAMs, AAA, MGs, were added to provide better defensive power.

IC:
The defenses in Roman and Bulgaria had been heavily fortified. Anti-aircraft systems, anti-armour systems and AMS systems were scattered across the line of defensive wall. Munitions, weapons, and other military equipment not in use was kept in enormous underground storage facilities with sufficient reinforced concrete and steel to keep out all modern bunker busters.

Inbound missile and aircraft threats were detected. A long range missile launch was detected across the border. Most likely cruise missiles due to the long range. Due to the well armament and well prepared European defenses roughly 339 missiles made it through the defenses. The missiles destroyed fifteen fix communication centers, four long range radar centers, eight short range radar centers, two divisional communication centers, eight power supply stations, damage two airfield runways, and destroyed three military command and control centers. The damage was severe but more than bearable. In all one hundred and three soldiers were KIA, three hundred and nine WIA, and two F/A-91 fighters damaged. Four hundred civlians were killed and another six hundred wounded

Next long range scanners detected more inbound missiles. Once again wall defenses and long range AMS interecepted a majority of the missiles. Four hundred and sixty missiles exploded over the wall dropping thermite onto the defenses. Any soldier in the vacinity was immediately killed, equipment was damaged or destroyed, and several nearby civilian fuel tanks exploded killing several civilians in the process. The damage equipment was replaced quickly, and soldiers remanned the posts. In all two thousand soldiers were killed with two hundred wounded.

A response from these attacks was certain. The 15 inch Artillery Cannons began bombarding any Teutonic military units within it's range. The heavy artillery bombardment was joined by over eight thousand 155mm Rapid Fire Howitzers and two hundred KriGud SPG. The 155mm Rapid Fire Howitzers maintained a rate of fire of 1 shot every two seconds for two minutes. After the two minutes the howitzers maintained a fire rate of 3 shots every minute to lessen ammunition depletion.

On the ground several modified MRLS had been brought up from the rear of the lines. These were loaded with versions of the AGM-136 Tacit Rainbow, essential a Anti-Radiation UAV. Eighty eight MRLS systems were brought up, each firing off four Tacit Rainbow's for a total of 352 missiles. They would search of and destroy any radar system, as far out as 430 km from the border.

(OOC: Hope you don't mind me using your tactics Lay.)
Learning from Layartebian tactics in Ecuador mobile Tomahawk and Hurricane missile sites had been established throughout the Yelmish European territory. Some fixed Tomahawk missile sites were also scattered throughout the territory. A total of 10 Tomahawk Block II TLAM-A, 12 Tomahawk Block III TLAM-C, 12 Tomahawk Block IV TLAM-E missile sites were at the time, avaliable for use. A total of 14 Hurricane Missile sites were avaliable for use. Each missile site was able to carry up to ten missiles. A total of 480 missiles was launched at North Germania's military bases, barracks, command centers, communication centers, airbases, and at bridges.

OOC: Don't mind at all using my tactics it just seems kind of fast though that all of a sudden your Tomahawk & Hurricane sites became mobile. But alas, this one isn't my RP so I can't bitch much ;).

The results of the missile strike were accordingly well. Many got through and the thermite explosive would have started a massive firestorm that would eventually spread through the valleys, mountains, and forests like nothing.

Satellite imagry over the area showed quite a bit of military targets, mostly heavily fortified ones. This was a job for the Dreamcatchers. 16 B-7B Incubus bombers, flying from Layarteb, would meet up with another 24 from Ireland and Iceland. The 40 bombers together carried a total of 240 Dreamcatcher missiles. 180 of them were conventionally armed, with massive BLU-113 warheads. The remaining 60, on the other hand, were equipped with the W100A warheads. These were EMP based warheads, capable of frying every circuit, every battery, everything electronic for 14.54 square miles. These 60 were aimed, 3 a piece at 20 key targets, communications being 4 of them, radars being 6 of them, and command being the other 10.

Coming in at 15,000 miles per hour they were beyond warheads, they were just streaks of light. The 3,000 mile range of the missiles meant that they could be fired from so far away the enemy wouldn't even know it. And they were, fired from 2,400 to 2,800 miles away. They would carry up, into the atmosphere, travel at 9,000 mph, and re-enter at 15,000, on a steep angle, making interception that much harder.

OOC: Because of the AGM-192C has an EMP warhead it is naturally, EMP shielded. LOL...
Cotland
23-07-2005, 08:57
The Cottish divisions started to take up positions now, and the artillery was set up with haste. Along the border, some 1 944 M2001 Crusader self-propelled 155 mm artillery and some 162 light M119A2 towed 105 mm howitzers were being set up, along with 324 M270A1 MLRSs. The upgraded Cottish MLRS was fitted with artillery tracking radar, which made it possible for the Cots to quickly triangulate where the enemy artillery came from and send lethal rockets back to obliterate the enemy artillery site.

At 02.40 AM, the initial artillery barrage from the Cottish Crusaders started. The lighter M119A2s wouldn't be employed just yet, due to their shorter range. The Crusaders would fire at the enemy from a range of 27 kilometers, blasting up to 13 kilometers beyond the enemy wall, then relocate within minutes. Mobile Starstreak HVM-sites had also been set up at the site of the artillery, providing protection from aerial threaths. The MLRS-radars searched actively for enemy artillery shells.

The many Challenger 2 and Merkava 4 tanks had also arrived at their pre-designated points, and now stood well beyond the enemy artillery and MLRS range and waited for the word to attack. So did the M2A4 Bradley IFVs and their artillery.

The first airstrike was going to come now too. A-10A Thunderbolt IIs and F-15E Strike Eagles were going to go in low and fast, dropping newly arrived BLU-124 (A-10As) and BLU-125 (F-15Es) at the enemy positions. Another flight of A-10As would attract the fire from the enemy SAM and AAA, hopefully allowing the strike flight to get through unharmed. They were now cruising at 350 feet, with a speed of 500 knots. The decoy flight flew at 1000 feet at a speed of 450 knots with their radars on max. The Yelmians couldn't miss not seeing them.
North Germania
25-07-2005, 01:09
The missiles launched against Germanian targets were picked up on radar just as soon as they were fired. FkSS Anti-Missile Systems stationed at all military locations let loose thousands of anti-missile rockets towards the Hurricanes, while 31.5mm Vulkan gatling guns aimed and fired when the missiles came closer.

Luckily, all major military bases in Germania were located North of where the missiles had been aimed. Instead, they hit targets such as radar sites, bunkers, and other such minor installments. This would be the blow that encouraged the Germanians to take full action.

[Translated from German]

Reichskanzler Kübler: "So they want war in Europe. They must want to be defeated. I am now officially declaring a state of war between Yelm and North Germania.

OOC: Germanian losses: Three radar sites destroyed, five FkSS Luftschreck Systems destroyed, two communications centers damaged, fifteen tanks destroyed, 39 tanks damaged, 558 personnel KIA, 713 personnel WIA.

From: The Emperor of Japan

Greetings, I am sending this telegram in pleaful request that you allow Japanese troops to land in Greece. These troops mean no harm twards your people and only mean to protect Japan by eliminating the Yelmish government.

We thank you for your time and patience for reading over this telegram.

Operation Black Dust was put into play.

This operation was to be designed as the German Blitzkrieg, and will be used to hopefully secure most of Yelm safely and fastly.

But that was not all of Operation Black Dust.

Soon, Operation Apocalypse Rising would recieve a " promotion " into being named " The Apocaylpse Rising Campaign ", in which Japan will make several steps in tightening security back at home and across the globe.
