The signal stretched endlessly throughout the cosmos, or at least that's what it's senders would say. Men and women aboard ships and planets in reach of the signal stopped, if even for a brief moment, to hear what was said, and see what was shown. Receiving devices echoed shallowly, speaking to those who listened.
Those watching the signal on screens saw the face of a weathered and aged human face looking into their eyes, speaking with the warmth one would expect from a doting gandfather. His mouth opened, and his words came across.
"Greetings denziens of the Universe. I, Christopher Ryan Archer, would be honored to announce the introduction of Toriga to everyone listening. On behalf of my planet, I call out to all sentinent beings within a close proximity to ourselves, to introduce us into the grand scheme of things. From this day, we gladly open trade routes and welcome diplomatic envoys with open arms. Any cultures interested in forming a relationship are welcomed to do so. Thank you all for opening your minds to a small planet trying to get to it's feet. Until we meet again, I bid you farewell."
With that, the transmission ended. A new power had emerged; still vastly small in comparison to others, but still there.
